Synthesis of N,N-dimethyl(diethyl)-7-aryl-5-methyl-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxamides

8,9,10-Trifluoro-6-oxo-6H-pyrido[1,2-a]quinoline-5-carbonitrile in the synthesis of novel 1-heteryl-3,3-dimethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines

3,4-Dihydroisoquinolines containing the 8,9,10-trifluoro-6H-pyrido[1,2-a]quinolin-6-one substituent in position 1 were obtained by three-component reactions between arenes, isobutyraldehyde, and 8,9,10-trifluoro-6-oxo-6H-pyrido[1,2-a]quinoline-5-carbonitrile in H2SO4.     

Direct and rapid determination of elements in the ambient air and in human exhalation using the electrostatic precipitation of aerosols in the graphite atomizer of a zeeman spectrometer

The use of a new Zeeman spectrometer with the electrostatic precipitation of aerosols in the graphite furnace of the atomizer for the direct and rapid determination of aerosols in the ambient air and in the air exhaled by human beings is presented. The results are given for the comparative determination of elements in laboratory air by electrostatic precipitation and with the filter accumulation of aerosols. A correlation is found between the concentration of Se in the exhaled air and its concentration in the examinee’s blood.     

Spontaneous and stimulated emissions of copolyfluorenes during photo- and electro-excitation

This review concerns the specific features of photo- and electroexcited processes of excitation energy deactivation in one of the most widely studied classes of organic semiconducting polymers, copolyfluorenes. Spectral-luminescent, electroluminescent, and light-generating properties of a number of copolyfluorenes are discussed, and ways to create organic electronics devices on their basis are revealed.

Niobium-containing catalysts for oxydehydrogenation of hydrocarbons and alcohols

The first methods are developed for introducing niobium(V) into Mg-Al hydrotalcites used as precursors of oxide catalysts for oxydehydrogenation (OD) of alkanes and alcohols. Samples of niobium(V)-containing oxide catalysts are synthesized. Their catalytic properties are studied in oxydehydrogenation of ethane and ethylbenzene to styrene, oxidation dehydrocyclization of octane into ethylbenzene and styrene, and oxydehydrogenation of sec-butanol to ketone (octane-(2)-one). It is ascertained that ethane transformation into ethylene is highly a selective highly process (92–97%) at low temperatures (450–500°C) in the presence of a niobium-containing catalyst; the catalyst is appreciably efficient in ethylbenzene transformation to styrene and dehydrocyclization of n-octane to ethylbenzene and styrene, and in oxydehydrogenation of secbutanol to octane-(2)-one. All the catalysts studied operate stably in OD reactions; no decrease in their activity or selectivity was detected after 50 h operation.     

Tantalum-containing catalysts for oxydehydrogenation of hydrocarbons and alcohols

The first methods were developed for introducing tantalum(V) into Mg-Al hydrotalcites, which are precursors of oxide catalysts for oxydehydrogenation of hydrocarbons and alcohols. Samples of oxide tantalum(V)-containing catalysts were synthesized. Their catalytic properties were studied in the oxydehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene and ethylbenzene to styrene, oxydehydrocyclization of octane to ethylbenzene and styrene, and oxydehydrogenation of sec-butanol to ketone (octan-2-one). The transformation of ethane to ethylene over the tantalum-containing catalyst occurs with a high selectivity (92–97%) at relatively low temperatures (500°C), and the catalyst is quite efficient in conversion of ethylbenzene to styrene, dehydrocyclization of n-octane to ethylbenzene and styrene, and oxydehydrogenation of sec-butanol to octan-2-one. Comparison with a niobium-containing catalyst showed that it ensures higher yields and selectivities in similar reactions than its tantalum-containing analogue does.
