Polymerization of cyclopentadiene initiated by methylaluminoxane

The polymerization of cyclopentadiene (CPD) was effectively initiated by methylaluminoxane (MAO) to generate poly(cyclopentadiene) (polyCPD). The effects on the polymerization of some reaction parameters such as the monomer concentration, the initiator concentration, and solvents were investigated. The conversion of CPD was monitored with gas chromatography to investigate the reaction kinetics. The polymerization rate was proportional to the concentrations of MAO in the first order and of the CPD monomer in the second order, and a reasonable cationic polymerization mechanism was suggested on the basis of the kinetic study. PolyCPD obtained at a low temperature could be dissolved in toluene or chloroform, and this indicated lower cross‐coupling during the polymerization reaction. ¹H NMR and IR analysis of the polymer indicated that there were almost equal amounts of 1,2‐enchainment and 1,4‐enchainment in the polymer chain. The measurement of polyCPD showed its unique properties as a potential candidate for stable wrappings or electronic packaging materials. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 基于单通道反射型电光调制器实现不同路光同时调制的方法

提出了一种利用单通道反射型聚合物电光调制器同时调制不同路光的方法。衰减全反射结构的电光调制器,其每一个衰减全反射(ATR)峰的位置分别对应于一个导波共振模式。实验系统中利用衰减全反射导膜峰作为调制通道,使其每一路光路的入射角分别对应于不同导波共振模式的工作角,就可以实现利用单通道的电光调制器同时调制不同路光。提出了三种实现两路光同时调制的模式,并给出了三种模式的调制结果。结果表明,作为调制通道的导模阶数越低,调制效率越高。在832 nm光波波长下,采用最低阶导模进行调制时可以获得42.9%的调制效率。     

Spurious Shell Closures in the Relativistic Mean Field Model

Following a previous systematic theoretical study of the ground-state properties of over 7000 nuclei from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line in the relativistic mean field model [Prog. Theor. Phys. 113 （2005） 785], which is in fair agreement with existing experimental data, we observe a few spurious shell closures, i.e. proton shell closures at Z = 58 and Z = 92. These spurious shell closures are found to persist in all the effective forces of the relativistic mean field model, e.g. TMA, NL3, PKDD and DD-ME2.     

双缺陷模一维光子晶体的双光子吸收增强研究

采用真空镀膜工艺制备了具有762 nm和800 nm双缺陷模的含两个CdS缺陷层的TiO2/SiO2一维光子晶体,运用抽运探测技术测量了其双光子吸收。对于两个缺陷模,双光子吸收均得到很大的增强,其中缺陷模为800nm时的双光子吸收系数307 cm/GW要大于缺陷模为762 nm时的116 cm/GW,分别为单层CdS薄膜的48倍和18倍。这种双光子吸收的增强是由于光局域化导致一维光子晶体缺陷层内的电场强度增大而形成的。通过传输矩阵法计算了一维光子晶体的内部场强,发现800 nm波长光入射时缺陷层内的电场强度要大于762 nm波长光入射时的电场强度值。     

LIMITING BEHAVIOR OF UNIFORM RECURSIVE TREES

The authors consider the limiting behavior of various branches in a uniform recursive tree with size growing to infinity.The limiting distribution ofζ_(n,m),the number of branches with size m in a uniform recursive tree of order n,converges weakly to a Poisson distribution with parameter 1/m with convergence of all moments.The size of any large branch tends to infinity almost surely.

Finite-element calculation of the influence of interdiffusion on eigenstates in a GaAs/Al x Ga1-x As single-quantum-well structure

The influence of interdiffusion on eigenstates in an interdiffusion-induced GaAs/Al_xGa_1-xAs single-quantum-well structure is analysed numerically by the finite element method. In this approach, the confinement potential profile of the interdiffused quantum well structure is nonlinear and is modelled by an error function and, in particular, the nature of the effective mass of an electron is considered. The results show that the number of eigenstates and energy levels varies with the extent of the interdiffusion. Numerical results for the quasi-bound states in the quantum well structure with an applied electric field are also presented.
