Micowave assisted synthesis of benzo‐substituted macrocyclic diamides and their corresponding macrocyclic dithiodiamides

A synthesis of a series of macrocyclic diamides 3 in good yields by reacting the corresponding bis phenols 4 with the appropriate dihalo alkanes 6 either in solvent or in dry media under microwave irradiation. Thiation of 3 with P₂S₅ or Lawesson's reagent in solvent free conditions under microwave irradiation is also described.     

Synthesis and spectroscopic studies of methoxy-substituted phenylthienylnicotinamidines

Abstract

Five thienylnicotinamidine derivatives 5a–e were prepared from their corresponding nicotinonitriles 3a–e on treatment with lithium trimethylsilylamide [LiN(TMS)₂] followed by hydrolysis using ethanolic/HCl (gas). The nicotinonitriles 3a–e were prepared via Suzuki coupling reaction of bromothienyl derivative 1 with the appropriate phenylboronic acids 2a–e. The DFT calculation was used to optimize the geometric structure of the newly synthesized nicotinamidines. The comparison of DFT/B3LYP calculated spectral data (¹H-NMR and ¹³C-NMR) with the experimental data showed acceptable agreement. Mass fragmentation patterns of 3,4-dimethoxyphenyl, 3,5-dimethoxyphenyl, and 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl thienylnicotinamidine derivatives were investigated.     

Optical absorption of tetraphenylporphyrin thin films in UV-vis-NIR region

The optical absorption of thermally evaporated tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) in the UV-vis-NIR region have been studied. The absorption spectra recorded in the UV-vis region for the as deposited and annealed films showed different absorption bands, namely the Soret(B) at region 360-490nm, Q-band region consist of four bands in the region 500-720nm and two other bands labeled N and M in UV region. The Soret band always shows its characteristic effect splitting in all the TPP thin films and the effect of annealing on the intensities of these components have been observed. The spectra of the infrared absorption allow characterization of vibrational modes for the powder, as deposited and annealed thin films. Some of the optical absorption parameters, namely molar extinction coefficient, varepsilon, half band width, Deltalambda, electronic dipole strength, q(2) and oscillator strength, f, of the principle optical transitions have also been evaluated.     

Local analyticity for the [`(?)]\overline \partial -Neumann problem in completely decoupled pseudoconvex domains-Neumann problem in completely decoupled pseudoconvex domains

In this paper we prove local analyticity of solutions to the -Neumann problem up to the boundary of rigid, completely decoupled pseudoconvex domains with real-analytic boundary. These are domains that are locally of the form Imw > Σ |h _k (z _k )|² with eachh _k holomorphic and vanishing only at 0. As in those earlier papers, we use purelyL ² methods and must construct a special holomorphic vector fieldM and then use carefully balanced polynomials inM to localize high powers ofT = ∂/∂t effectively, wheret = Rew.     

Utility of copper(II) oxide as a packed reactor in flow injection assembly for rapid analysis of some angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors

A new simple, sensitive, rapid and precise flow injection (FI) procedure based on the formation of copper complexes with some angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors has been developed and evaluated for the analysis of lisinopril (LN), enalapril maleate (EP), ramipril (RP) and perindopril tert-butylamine (PD). In this method, samples were injected into a flowing stream of distilled-deionized water, carried through the packed reactor of CuO for derivatization followed by ultraviolet (UV) detection. The flow rate was 1.5 ml min⁻¹ and column temperature was ambient (25 °C). Lisinopril was injected directly into the flowing stream and the detector response was measured at 262 nm. The hydrolysis products of enalapril maleate, ramipril and perindopril tert-butylamine in 0.2N NaOH were injected after neutralization with 1N HCl and the detector response was measured at 272, 265 and 252 nm, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of tested drugs in pharmaceutical preparations at a sampling rate of 60 samples h⁻¹ and a recovery near 100% for all compounds.     

Novel Cyanoketene N,S‐Acetals and Pyrazole Derivatives using Potassium 2‐Cyanoethylene‐1‐thiolates

Novel ketene N,S‐acetals 3 were readily prepared by the reaction of cyanoacetamide or cyanothioacetamide with phenylisothiocyanate in the presence of potassium hydroxide, followed by alkylation of the produced salts with methyl iodide. The reaction of compounds 3 with hydrazines afforded different substituted pyrazoles 6.
