The kinetics of ruthenium(III) catalyzed oxidation of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde by alkaline hexacyanoferrate(III) has been studied spectrophotometrically. The rate of oxidation of formaldehyde is directly proportional to [Fe(CN) 3– 6 ] while that of acetaldehyde is proportional tok[Fe(CN) 3– 6 ]/{k +k[Fe(CN) 3– 6 ]}, wherek, k andk are rate constants. The order of reaction in acetylaldehyde is unity while that in formaldehyde falls from 1 to 0. The rate of reaction is proportional to [Ru(III)] T in each case. A suitable mechanism is proposed and discussed.
Die Kinetik der Ru(III)-katalysierten Oxidation von Formaldehyd und Acetaldehyd mittels alkalischem Hexacyanoferrat(III)
Zusammenfassung Die Untersuchung der Kinetik erfolgte spektrophotometrisch. Die Geschwindigkeitskonstante der Oxidation von Formaldehyd ist direkt proportional zu [Fe(CN) 3– 6 ], währenddessen die entsprechende Konstante für Acetaldehyd proportional zuk[Fe(CN) 3– 6 ]/{k +k[Fe(CN) 3– 6 ]} ist, wobeik,k undk Geschwindigkeitskonstanten sind. Die Reaktionsordnung für Acetaldehyd ist eine erste, die für Formaldehyd fällt von erster bis zu nullter Ordnung. Die Geschwindigkeitskonstante ist in jedem Fall proportional zu [Ru(III)] T . Es wird ein passender Mechanismus vorgeschlagen.

The charge transfer induced lithiation of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) was investigated by in situ monitoring by Raman spectroscopy as lithium was added incrementally to a dispersion of SWNTs in liquid ammonia. Charge transfer from liquid ammonia solvated lithium to the SWNTs led to intercalation of lithium into the SWNT ropes, as well as to the semi-covalent lithiation of the SWNTs. Raman spectra of the SWNTs recorded as lithium was added showed a 30 wavenumber downshift of the G band (1594 cm−1) with the concomitant appearance of a new peak at 1350 cm−1 that was assigned as the signature of the lithiated SWNTs. Addition of 1-iodododecane to the lithiated SWNTs resulted in the covalent attachment of dodecyl groups. The intercalation of lithium throughout the SWNT ropes led to complete dodecylation of all individual SWNTs.  相似文献

Four cis-dioxomolybdenum complexes of general formula [MoO2(Ln)EtOH] (n = 1–4) and one oxomolybdenum(IV) complex [MoO(L4)EtOH], with potentially tridentate Schiff bases derived from 5-methyl pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide and salicylaldehyde/substituted salicylaldehyde/o-hydroxy acetophenone have been prepared. The Mo(IV) complex is derived from the Mo(VI) dioxo complex by oxotransfer reaction with PPh3. The complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, electronic spectra, IR, 1H NMR, and by cyclic voltammetry. All the Mo(VI) species are crystallographically characterized. The complexes have a distorted octahedral structure in which the ligand behaves as a binegative donor one, leaving the pyrazole –N uncoordinated towards the metal center. It is also revealed from the crystal structure that the Mo(VI) center enjoys an NO5 donor environment.  相似文献

IR spectra in the 'Finger Print' spectral range has great importance in qualitative and quantitative analysis of explosives like trinitrotoluene (TNT) and cyclotrimethyltrinitramine (RDX). Highly resolved IR bands of these compounds have been recorded in the 9.6 and 10.6 microm regions of CO2 laser. TNT and RDX are large molecules each having 21 atoms and it is very difficult to assign the modes of vibrations by comparison with those in other molecules making the vibrational assignments of observed bands a difficult task. The ab initio quantum chemical calculation is used for determining the molecular geometries and modes of vibration of these molecules with a view to assign their normal modes in the high resolution vibrational photoacoustic spectra. These assignments are very reliable in view of the good agreement between the observed and calculated frequencies of deuterated TNT.  相似文献

Summary A method has been developed for the estimation of 90Sr in reprocessed uranium oxide samples obtained from the Purex processing of natural uranium spent fuel discharged from the research reactor. The method employs a combination of precipitation and solvent extraction procedure to eliminate other beta-impurities prior to resorting to the estimation of 90Sr by beta-counting. 106Ru was eliminated by volatalizing with perchloric acid, uranium was removed by carrier precipitation with strontium as sulphate. The sulphate precipitate was converted to carbonate and dissolved in nitric acid. 234Th and 234Pa were eliminated by synergistic solvent extraction using tri-n-butyl phosphate and thenoyl trifluoroacetone extractant mixture in xylene. An iron scavenging step was included to remove any residual impurities. Finally, strontium is precipitated as SrC2O4. H2O. The separated 90Sr activity was followed to check the equilibrium growth of 90Y.  相似文献

A new enantioselective synthesis of two important fungal metabolites, (+)-stagonolide C and (?)-aspinolide A, has been described from readily available raw materials. Proline catalyzed asymmetric α-aminooxylation and Jorgensen’s epoxidation of aldehydes are the key reactions employed in the introduction of chirality. A series of six new Fe(II)NHC-carboxylic sensitizers with their ancillary ligand decorated with functions of varied electronic properties have been designed with the aim to increase the metal-to- surface charge separation and light harvesting in iron-based dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). ARM130 scored the highest efficiency ever reported for an iron-sensitized solar cell (1.83 %) using Mg2+ and NBu4I-based electrolyte and a thick 20 μm TiO2 anode. Computational modelling, transient absorption spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) revealed that the electronic properties induced by the dimethoxyphenyl-substituted NHC ligand of ARM130 led to the best combination of electron injection yield and spectral sensitivity breadth.  相似文献
