Three different experimental measurements, namely, rheology, particle sizing, and x-ray diffraction (XRD), were used to study the effect of anionic additives on the properties of bentonite suspensions. The three additives were sodium carboxymethylcellulose, xanthan gum, and sodium dodecyl sulfate. Flow curves were obtained from shear stress–shear rate measurements, and the viscoelastic properties were determined from oscillatory and transient measurements. Mineralogical data were evaluated by XRD and the particle size analysis performed by light scattering technique. The presence of the surfactant modifies the face-to-face interactions and yields changes of the mixtures rheological behavior at low deformation rates. Polymers act by coating each clay particle and prevent their agglomeration. Therefore, the additives are responsible for the mechanisms of destructuration and structure reorganization as well as the mixtures viscous and viscoelastic behavior. 相似文献

Military course of action planning involves time and space synchronization as well as resource and asset allocation. A mission could be seen as a defined set of logical ordered tasks with time and space constraints. The resources to task rules require that available assets should be allocated to each task. A combination of assets might be required to execute a given task. The couple (task, resources) constitutes an action. This problem is formulated as a multi-objectives scheduling and resource allocation problem. Any solution is assessed based on a number of conflicting and heterogeneous objectives. In fact, military planning officers should keep perfecting the plan based on the Commander’s criteria for success. The scheduling problem and resource allocation problem are considered as NP-Hard Problems [A. Guitouni, B. Urli, J.-M. Martel, Course of action planning: A project based modelling, Working Paper, Faculté des sciences de l’ administration, Université Laval, Québec, 2005]. This paper is concerned with the multi-objectives resource allocation problem. Our objective is to find adequate resource allocation for given courses of action schedule. To optimize this problem, this paper investigates non-exact solution methods, like meta-heuristic methods for finding potential efficient solutions. A progressive resource allocation methodology is proposed based on Tabu Search and multi-objectives concepts. This technique explores the search space so as to find a set of potential efficient solutions without aggregating the objectives into a single objective function. It is guided by the principle of maximizing the usage of any resource before considering a replacement resource. Thus, a given resource is allocated to the maximum number of tasks for a given courses of action schedule. A good allocation is a potential efficient solution. These solutions are retained by applying a combination of a dominance rule and a multi-criteria filtering method. The performance of the proposed Pareto-based approach is compared to two aggregation approaches: weighted-sum and the lexicographic techniques. The result shows that a Pareto-based approach is providing better solutions and allowing more flexibility to the decision-maker. 相似文献

Despite the increase in horizontal well applications, scaling fluid displacement in porous medium with horizontal wells is
yet to be fully investigated. Determining the conditions under which horizontal wells may lead to better oil recovery is of
great importance to the petroleum industry. In this paper, a numerical sensitivity study was performed for several well configurations.
The study is performed in order to reveal the functional relationships between the scaling groups governing the displacement
and the performance of immiscible displacements in homogeneous reservoirs produced by horizontal wells. These relationships
can be used as a quick prediction tool for the fractional oil recovery for any combinations of the scaling groups, thus eliminating
the need for the expensive fine-mesh simulations. In addition, they provide the condition under which a horizontal well configuration
may yield better recovery performance. These results have potential applications in modeling immiscible displacements and

Heat and mass transfer along a semi-infinite vertical flat plate under the combined buoyancy force effects of thermal and species diffusion is investigated in the presence of a strong non-uniform magnetic field and the Hall currents are taken into account. The induced magnetic field due to the motion of the electrically conducting fluid is negligible. This assumption is valid for a small magnetic Reynolds number. The similarity solutions are obtained using the scale group of transformations. These are the only symmetry transformations admitted by the field equations. The non-linear boundary layer equations with the boundary conditions are transferred to a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations with the appropriate boundary conditions. Furthermore, the similarity equations are solved numerically by using a fourth order Runge-Kutta scheme with the shooting method. Numerical results for the velocity profiles, the temperature profiles and the concentration profiles are presented graphically for various values of the magnetic parameter M in the range of 0-1 with the Hall parameter m taking the values 0.5, 1, 2, and 3. 相似文献

4‐Amino‐3‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐1H‐thieno[2,3‐c]pyrazole‐5‐carboxamide ( 5 ), which was synthesized by an innovative method, was used as a versatile precursor for synthesizing pyrazolothienopyrimidines and imidazopyrazolothienopyrimidines compounds. Reaction of amino thienopyrazole carboxamide 5 with triethyl orthoformate afforded thienopyrazolopyrimidine 6 . Chlorination of the latter compound, using phosphorus oxychloride afforded the chloro pyrazolothienopyrimidine 7 , which underwent nucleophilic substitution reactions with various primary and secondary amines to give the alkyl (aryl) amino pyrimidine compounds 8a–d . On the other hand, the reaction of chloropyrimidine 7 with thiourea afforded the pyrimidine thione compound 9 , which was alkylated with α‐halogentaed compounds to afford the S‐alkylated derivatives 10a–c . Also, chloroacetylation of the amino carboxamide 5 using chloroacetyl chloride yielded the chloromethyl pyrazolothienopyrimidine 12 , which underwent nucleophilic substitu‐ tion reactions with various primary and secondary amines to afford the alkyl (aryl) aminomethyl compounds 13a–f . The latter Compounds underwent Mannich reaction to give imidazopyrimidothieno‐ pyrazoles 14a–c . The newly synthesized compounds and their derivatives were fully characterized by elemental and spectral analysis. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence of positive homoclinic solutions for the second-order differential equation where \(c\ge 0\) is a constant and the functions a and f are continuous and not necessarily periodic in t. Under other suitable assumptions on a and f, we obtain the existence of positive homoclinic solutions in both cases sub-quadratic and super-quadratic by using critical point theorems.

New route for the synthesis of 2‐(benzothiazol‐2‐ylthio)‐1‐phenylethanone ( 6 ) and 2‐(acetonylthio)benzothiazole ( 1 ) by using phenacyl bromide and α‐chloroacetone, respectively, through carbon–sulfur bond cleavage reactions in a basic medium has been generated. Treatment of 1 with malononitrile and elemental sulfur afforded the corresponding derivative of 2‐amino‐3‐cyanothiophene ( 12 ), whereas treatment of 1 with cyanoacetohydrazide afforded the corresponding derivative of cyanoacetylhydrazone derivative ( 13 ). Control of bioprocesses requires reliable and robust on- or in-line monitoring tools providing real-time information on process
dynamics. Heat generation related to metabolic activity of living systems is currently gaining importance in bioprocess industry
due to its non-invasive and essentially instantaneous characteristics. This study deals with monitoring and control of pure
aerobic fed-batch cultures of three Crabtree-negative yeast strains, Kluyveromyces marxianus, Candida utilis and Pichia pastoris, based on in-line measured, metabolic heat flow signals. A high resolution biocalorimeter (BioRC1) was developed from a standard
bench-scale heat flow calorimeter (RC1). The BioRC1 was equipped with in-line (dielectric spectroscopy, pH probe and dissolved
oxygen probe) and at-line (exit gas analyser) sensors to characterise the growth behaviour of the yeast cells. Both metabolic
heat flow and biomass profiles exhibited similar behaviour proving the significance of employing heat flow signal as a key-parameter
for the system under investigation. A simple estimator for biomass concentration and specific growth rate was formulated based
on heat flow values. In order to evaluate the potential of calorimetry as a reliable and powerful process monitoring tool,
the robustness, reliability as well as the broad applicability of the developed estimators was assessed through comparison
with off-line measurement techniques and showed promising results for general applicability with a wide range of bioprocesses. 相似文献
