The binding of different anions to calix[4]pyrrole has been studied by means of molecular dynamics coupled to thermodynamic integration calculations. The effect of different apolar solvents, octafluoro substitution, and the change in binding free energy derived from the presence of cosolute and water traces (the hydrated salt used to introduce the anion in the solution) were examined. Calculations allow us to rationalize the differential binding of ions to calix[4]pyrrole and octafluorocalix[4]pyrrole as well as to predict the behavior in new solvents for which experimental data are not available yet. It is found that both calix[4]pyrrole and octafluorocalix[4]pyrrole have a dramatic preference for F- in the gas phase and pure aprotic solvents, but the situation can change dramatically in protic solvents or in the presence of the hydrated cation which is used as cosolute of the anion. Overall, our results provide interesting clues for a better understanding of the process detected experimentally as "binding".  相似文献

Calix[4]pyrrole-chloride interactions are affected not only by the choice of countercation in halogenated solvents, but show a specific dependence on the way in which these cations are bound within the electron rich, bowl-like calix[4]pyrrole cavity formed upon chloride anion complexation. In dichloromethane, the affinities of simple meso-octamethylcalix[4]pyrrole (1) for methyl-, ethyl-, and n-butylammonium chlorides are on the order of 10(5), 10(4), and 10(2) M(-1), respectively, as determined from isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) analyses. These cation-dependent anion affinity effects, while clearly evident, are less pronounced in other halogenated solvents, such as 1,2-dichloroethane. Support for the proposed cation complexation selectivity is provided by solid state X-ray crystallographic analyses.  相似文献

The performance of chloride‐selective electrodes based on “two‐wall” aryl‐extended calix[4]pyrroles and multiwall carbon nanotubes is presented. The calix[4]pyrrole receptors bear two phenyl groups at opposite meso‐positions. When the meso‐phenyl groups are decorated with strong electron‐withdrawing substituents, attractive anion–π interactions may exist between the receptor’s aromatic walls and the sandwiched anion. These anion–π interactions are shown to significantly affect the selectivity of the electrodes. Calix[4]pyrrole, bearing a p‐nitro withdrawing group on each of the meso‐phenyl rings, afforded sensors that display anti‐Hofmeister behavior against the lipophilic salicylate and nitrate anions. Based on the experimental data, a series of principles that help in predicting the suitability of synthetic receptors for use as anion‐specific ionophores is discussed. Finally, the sensors deliver excellent results in the direct detection of chloride in bodily fluids.  相似文献

A siloxane-functionalized calix[4]pyrrole derivative was synthesized starting from the corresponding alcohol-functionalized calix[4]pyrrole. Structural elucidation was carried out by using NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and X-ray diffraction analysis. The use of this siloxane-functionalized calix[4]pyrrole for modification of various silica solid supports (silica gel 60, fume silica, and SiO2 nanopowder) was studied. Characterization of the modified silica solid supports was achieved by FTIR, TGA, and elemental analysis. It was also shown that the production of silica nanoparticles is possible via a sol-gel reaction of siloxane-functionalized calix[4]pyrrole and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). Calix[4]pyrrole modified silica solid supports were found to sense chloride anions of Azure A dye.  相似文献

Calixpyrroles and related macrocycles are non-aromatic synthetic anion receptors that have attracted considerable attention in recent years. The unfunctionalized, parent calix[4]pyrrole system, also known as octamethylporphyrinogen, may be prepared in one step and in high yield from pyrrole and acetone, and is an effective anion receptor, showing a preference for fluoride, phosphate, carboxylate and chloride anions in organic media. Efforts to improve the anion binding affinity of calix[4]pyrrole and to modify its inherent selectivity have led to the synthesis of a variety of new, modified calixpyrroles. Among the most effective of these are derivatives that contain bridging "straps". In this Feature Article, the preparation and properties of these and other topographically nonplanar calixpyrrole analogues are reviewed from the perspective of the anion recognition chemist.  相似文献

A modified calix[4]pyrrole, namely meso-tetramethyl-tetrakis-(4-hydroxyphenyl) calix[4]pyrrole, 1, has been synthesized and characterized. (1)H NMR investigations in various deuterated solvents seems to indicate that this receptor interacts with acetone-d(6). The solution thermodynamics of 1 in various solvents is reported. Complexation studies in CD(3)CN show that the NH and OH functionalities of 1 are the active sites of its interaction with the fluoride and the dihydrogen phosphate anions. The composition of the anion complexes was established through conductance measurements. In all cases, 1:1 complexes are formed. The thermodynamics of anion complexation in acetonitrile and N,N-dimethylformamide is discussed comparatively with previous reported data for the parent calix[4]pyrrole, 2, and these anions in these solvents. The medium effect on anion complexation is discussed in terms of the solvation properties of the reactants and the product in acetonitrile and N,N-dimethylformamide. An oligomeric material containing 1 as anchor group was synthesized and characterized by mass spectrometry. Preliminary studies have been performed to assess the extracting properties of this oligomer for the removal of phosphates from aqueous solutions. The effects of pH, temperature on the extraction of this anion salt from water, as well as the kinetics of the process (fast) were investigated.  相似文献

Calix[6]pyrrole 2 and the "hybrid systems" calix[3]furan[3]pyrrole 12, calix[2]furan[4]pyrrole 13, and calix[1]furan[5]pyrrole 14, have been synthesized by increasing conversion of the furan units present in the readily accessible calix[6]furan 3 to pyrroles. The host-guest chemistry of these novel macrocycles towards a number of anions, including halogen ions, dihydrogen phosphate, hydrogen sulfate, nitrate, and cyanide has been investigated in solution by (1)H NMR titration techniques and/or phase transfer experiments. The solid-state structures of the free receptors 2, 12, and 13, the 1:1 complexes of calix[6]pyrrole 2 with chloride and bromide, and the 1:1 complex of 14 with chloride are also reported.  相似文献

The complexation of zinc calix[4]arene or calix[4]pyrrole bisporphyrinates with alkali metal cations, halide anions, and triethylenediamine was studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy. It was established that the binding of molecules and/or charged particles by various fragments of calix[4]arene and calix[4]pyrrole porphyrins are interrelated processes. This makes it possible to use one process (for example, complexation of the calix[4]arene fragment of the macrocycle with alkali metal cations or complexation of the calix[4]pyrrole fragment with halide ions) as a tool for controlling another process (complexation of the porphyrin fragments of the macrocycle with neutral molecules).  相似文献

杯[4]-1,3-二乙酸乙酯衍生物1与水合肼反应生成杯[4]芳烃酰肼衍生物2, 然后进一步与相应的芳醛反应, 高产率地合成了三个新型的含酰胺和席夫碱单元的杯[4]芳烃衍生物3a3c和一例新型杯[4]冠醚4. 阳离子萃取实验表明新型杯芳烃衍生物比只含有酰胺基或席夫碱基的杯芳烃衍生物有更强的软金属离子配合性能, 杯[4]冠醚4还对Ag有较好的选择性萃取能力.  相似文献

Knoevenagel condensation of 2-formyl-octamethylcalix[4]pyrrole with selected 1,3-indanedione derivatives yields calix[4]pyrrole anion sensors with push-pull chromophores displaying strong intramolecular charge transfer. The push-pull feature results in augmented signal output as well as in dramatic changes in anion selectivity exemplified by a 50-fold increase in acetate vs chloride selectivity compared to the parent calix[4]pyrrole.  相似文献

采用密度泛函理论的M06-2X/6-31G(d, p)方法对杯[4]吡咯(CP)与卤素离子(X-=F-, Cl-, Br-)及卤素-铵根离子对的各种可能组装体系进行了系统研究. 详细讨论了各体系的结构、结合能、自然键轨道分析(NBO)和Multiwfn波函数分析的情况. 结果显示杯[4]吡咯与卤素阴离子的相互作用主要是氢键, 波函数分析显示在CPCl-和CP-Br-复合物中长程范德华力和空间位阻作用也明显存在. 杯[4]吡咯能与卤素-铵根离子形成稳定的复合物, 主要通过氢键作用、阴-阳离子的静电作用以及阳离子-π相互作用.从理论上探讨了杯[4]吡咯与离子或离子对的2:1组装体系,但相对于1:1组装体系来讲, 2:1体系并不占优势.本文结果进一步表明, 杯[4]吡咯不仅是一种阴离子受体,而且也是一种良好的离子对受体,尤其是对涉及氟离子的客体,更是如此.  相似文献

The anion binding properties of fluorinated calix[n]pyrroles (n = 4-6) in aprotic solvents (acetonitrile and DMSO) and modified reaction conditions allowing for the synthesis and isolation of the hitherto missing dodecafluorocalix[6]pyrrole from the condensation of 3,4-difluoro-1H-pyrrole and acetone are described. In acetonitrile solution containing 2% water, the association constants for the 1:1 binding interaction between octafluorocalix[4]pyrrole and chloride anion obtained with isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and (1)H NMR titration methods were found to match reasonably well. As compared to its nonfluorinated congener, octafluorocalix[4]pyrrole was found to display enhanced binding affinities for several representative anions in pure acetonitrile as judged from ITC analyses. Similar analyses of the fluorinated calix[n]pyrroles revealed an increase in the relative affinity for bromide over chloride with increasing macrocycle size, as manifest in a decrease in the binding ratio K(a(Cl))/K(a(Br)). Anion binding studies in the solid state, involving single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses of the chloride and acetate anion complexes of octafluorocalix[4]pyrrole and decafluorocalix[5]pyrrole, respectively, confirmed the expected hydrogen bond interactions between the pyrrolic NH protons and the bound anions.  相似文献

Halo functionalisation of calix[4]tubes has been investigated through both derivatisation of individual calix[4]arenes and calix[4]tubes, using classical synthetic methods, to allow preparation of a series of novel derivatives. The solution and solid state properties are in accordance with the constituent[4]arenes adopting flattened cone arrangements which on complexation with potassium simplify to a regular cone. Electrospray and 1H NMR studies, combined with molecular modelling have been used to ascertain the metal binding of this new series of cryptand like ionophores, demonstrating their retained selectivity for binding potassium over other Group 1 metals and the dependence on counter anion in the weak binding of silver.  相似文献

Two isomeric structures of meso-tetramethyltetrakis(3-hydroxyphenyl)calix[4]pyrrole, 4-alphaalpha betabeta and 4-alphabeta alphabeta, have been isolated and characterized by 1H NMR in different solvents (CD3CN, CD3OD, and DMSO-d6) at 298 K. Standard Gibbs energies of solution derived from solubility data in various solvents were used to calculate the transfer Gibbs energy, delta(t)G(o), of these ligands using acetonitrile as the reference solvent. These results are consistent with the 1H NMR studies in different media that show chemical shift changes observed in the resonances of the NH and the OH protons of these ligands. Solvate formation was observed when these isomers were exposed to saturated atmosphere of N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide and propylene carbonate. Anion interaction involving 4-alphaalpha betabeta and 4-alphabeta alphabeta was investigated by 1H NMR in CD3CN while the complex composition was assessed through conductance measurements. Significant differences are observed in the affinity of these ligands for anions as well as in the composition of the fluoride complexes. Thus 4-alphaalpha betabeta shows selectivity for H2PO4(-) in acetonitrile while its isomer 4-alphabeta alphabeta is selective for the fluoride anion. Again the complex composition is altered for the fluoride anion when complexed with 4-alphaalpha betabeta in acetonitrile (1:1 complex) relative to 4-alphabeta alphabeta in the same solvent. The latter isomer shows an enhanced hosting ability for this anion. Thus two anions are taken up per unit of ligand. The thermodynamics of complexation of H2PO4(-) and these ligands in acetonitrile is discussed, and the results are compared with those involving calix[4]pyrrole and this anion in this solvent. It is shown that the isomers interact with two H2PO4(-) anions while one calix[4]pyrrole unit interacts with this anion. This paper demonstrates for the first time that the enthalpy parameter may be a suitable reporter of the number of hydrogen bonds formed when calix[4]pyrrole and its derivatives interact with the dihydrogen phosphate anion in acetonitrile. In moving from acetonitrile to N,N-dimethylformamide, 4-alphaalpha betabeta is unable to enter complexation with most anions, except fluoride, with which the formation of a 1:2 (ligand:anion) complex is demonstrated. The rather versatile behavior of these receptors for anions is explained on the basis of 1H NMR evidence and solvation effects. These investigations highlight the importance of the medium effect on the stability of the complex and reflect the inherent nature of the solvent and its highly significant involvement in the complexation process.  相似文献

Synthesis of the glutaraldehyde derivatives calix[n]arene (n = 4,6,8) (Calix[n]-GA) and using as cross-linkers for immobilization of Candida rugosa lipase (CRL) have been discussed in this paper. The amino functional calix[n]arene derivatives (Calix[n]-NH 2) were synthesized via reduction of dinitrile, hexanitrile and octanitrile derivatives of calix[n]arenes. These amino functional calix[n]arene derivatives (Calix[n]-NH 2) were converted to their aldehyde derivativatives with glutaraldehyde. The calix[n]arene derivatives were used in lipase immobilization in order to see the role of calix[n]arene binding site on the lipase activitiy and stability. The activity recovery of calix[n]arene-supported lipases (Calix[n]-CRL) based on the Calix[4]-CRL, Calix[6]-CRL and Calix[8]-CRL reaches to 53.5, 66.1 and 76.4%, respectively.  相似文献

Thallium cation complexation by calix[4]tubes has been investigated by a combination of (205)Tl, (1)H NMR and ES MS demonstrating the solution formation of a dithallium complex in which the cations are held in the calix[4]arene cavities. In addition, the structure of the complex has been determined in the solid state revealing the cations to be held exclusively by pi-cation interactions. Furthermore, this crystal structure has been used as the basis for molecular dynamics simulations to confirm that binding of the smaller K(+) cation in the calix[4]tube cryptand like array occurs via the axial route featuring a pi-cation intermediate.  相似文献

Calixpyrrole-based oligomeric compounds were synthesized by "click chemistry" from the corresponding alkyne- and azide-functionalized calix[4]pyrroles. Calix[4]pyrrole 3, possessing an alkyne functional group, was prepared through a mixed condensation of pyrrole with acetone and but-3-ynyl 4-oxopentanoate. Another alkyne-group-containing calix[4]pyrrole 5 was obtained by treatment of 4'-hydroxyphenyl-functionalized calixpyrrole 4 with propargyl bromide. Tetrakis(azidopentyl)-functionalized calix[4]pyrrole 7 was synthesized by reacting NaN(3) with tetrabromopentyltetraethylcalix[4]pyrrole 6, which was prepared through a condensation reaction of pyrrole and 7-bromohept-2-one. Oligomeric calixpyrrole compounds were found to be capable of extracting tetrabutylammonium chloride and fluoride salts from aqueous media. Extraction abilities of the oligomeric compounds were monitored by NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.  相似文献

The solution binding properties of calix[4]pyrroles with anion (added as tetraalkylammonium salts) were investigated using UV-vis spectroscopic techniques. The obvious red-shift of absorption maximum band of calix[4]pyrrole in EtOH in the presence of the tetramethylammonium (TMA(+)) or tetraethylammonium (TEA(+)) salts were observed. These results displayed in electronic absorption spectra indicated calix[4]pyrrole receptors linking anionic species through multiple hydrogen bonding interactions are capable of using the periphery electron-rich "walls" for selectively binding electron-deficient tetraalkylammonium cation subunits by cation-pi charge-transfer interaction. It was seen that the stability of the calix[4]pyrrole-anion complex depends strongly on the cation. The meso-alkyl groups of the calix[4]pyrrole, the affinity for the anion subunits and the structure of tetraalkylammonium cations have considerable effects on the formation of cation-pi charge-transfer interaction.  相似文献

Calix[4]pyrrole liquid membrane electrodes display a potentiometric response towards the neutral form of phenol derivatives. They do not respond towards the corresponding anionic forms. The mechanism of the generation of the potentiometric signal relies on: (1) The creation of supramolecular complex calix[4]pyrrole? nitrophenol at the organic/aqueous interface; (2) The increasing of the acidity of OH group from nitrophenol molecules due to formation of hydrogen bond between calix[4]pyrrole? nitrophenol at the interface; (3) The dissociation of the OH group from calix[4]pyrrole? nitrophenol complex and the ejection of H+ to the aqueous layer adjusted to the membrane organic phase boundary. The sensitivity and selectivity of the calix[4]pyrrole liquid membrane electrodes are governed by the lipophilicity and acidity of the phenolic guests. Also, the affinity to create a hydrogen bond between the host and the target molecule is a parameter which has a strong influence on the phenomena studied.  相似文献
