High methanol electro-oxidation activity was obtained on novel PtRuFe/C (2:1:1 at.%) catalyst. Mass and specific activities were 5.67 A  g−1 catal. and 177 mA m−2 for the PtRuFe/C catalyst while those of the commercial PtRu/C catalyst were 2.28 A g−1 catal. and 87.7 mA m−2, respectively. CO stripping results showed that on-set voltage for CO electro-oxidation was lowered by incorporation of Fe. XRD and XPS results revealed that Fe2O3 was formed instead of Fe(0), which resulted in large electron deficiency in Pt and easy CO electro-oxidation. The electron deficiency of Pt was proved by XPS results of Pt4f peaks, which moved to higher binding energies in PtRuFe/C than PtRu/C.  相似文献

Graphene nanosheet was prepared by modified Hummer’s chemical method and utilized as a catalyst support of PtRu nanoparticles for the electro-oxidation of methanol. Home-made graphene nanosheet was clearly characterized by Raman spectroscopy and we applied colloidal method to synthesize with high metal content of 80 wt.% Pt–Ru catalyst, which is extensively clarified by HR-TEM and XRD analysis. 80 wt.% Pt–Ru/graphene nanosheet catalyst showed superior electrochemical activity toward methanol oxidation compared to Pt–Ru/Vulcan XC-72R. It is due to the significant increase of electrochemical active surface area for better catalyst utilization.  相似文献

Nanostructured PtRu material has been successively synthesized via chemical co-reduction of hexachloroplatinic acid and ruthenium trichloride using three-dimensional (3D) hexagonal mesoporous SBA-12 silica as a solid template, and has been studied as an electrocatalyst toward methanol electro-oxidation. The ordered nanostructure of the PtRu particles has been disclosed by transmission electron micrographs and is characterized by regular pores of ca. 3.0 ± 0.3 nm in diameter separated by walls of ca. 3.0 ± 0.3 nm thick. X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope studies indicate that the PtRu material comprises of complicated phases rather than a single alloy phase of Pt and Ru. The specific electrochemical surface area of the nanostructured powder measured using both CO and underpotential deposited Cu stripping techniques is 74–78 m2 g–1, higher than that of unsupported precious metal catalysts prepared using standard techniques. The combination of high surface area and periodic nanostructure of the templated PtRu makes it an interesting promising fuel cell electrocatalyst. This has been demonstrated by the high activity of the templated PtRu towards the methanol electrooxidation. Therefore the solid template route based on 3D mesoporous silica with controlled pore size and high pore interconnectivity provides an interesting alternative to produce promising high-surface-area electrode materials.  相似文献

Direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) consisting of a double-catalytic layered membrane electrode assembly (MEA) provide higher performance than that with the traditional MEA. This novel structured MEA includes a hydrophilic inner catalyst layer and a traditional electrode with an outer catalyst layer, which was made using both catalyst coated membrane (CCM) and gas diffusion electrode (GDE) methods. The inner catalyst was PtRu black on anode and Pt black on cathode. The outer catalyst was carbon supported Pt–Ru/Pt on anode and cathode, respectively. Thus in the double-catalytic layered electrodes three gradients were formed: catalyst concentration gradient, hydrophilicity gradient and porosity gradient, resulting in good mass transfer, proton and electron conducting and low methanol crossover. The peak density of DMFC with such MEA was 19 mW cm−2, operated at 2 M CH3OH, 2 atm oxygen at room temperature, which was much higher than DMFC with traditional MEA.  相似文献

PtRu/C anode electrocatalysts modified by Sn were prepared for ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). Their phase structures, surface species, surface compositions, and EOR activities were characterized by XRD, XPS, temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), and CV, respectively. It has been found that in the PtRu/SnxC and PtSn/C alloy catalysts, some Sn alloyed with Pt to form Pt–Sn phase existed as the metallic state, however, the excess Sn existed as the amorphous SnO or crystalline SnO2. Surface analyses and electrochemical measurements suggest that the surface Ru and amorphous SnO instead of the crystalline SnO2 are important species for the promotion of EOR. As a result, compared with PtSn/C, the I06 was enhanced about 200% for the PtRu/C electrocatalyst with 10 wt% of Sn modification.  相似文献

Highly ordered Pd/Pt–core–shell nanowire arrays (Pd/Pt NWAs) have been prepared by anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) template-electrodeposition and magnetron sputtering methods. Pd/Pt NWA electrode shows a very high electrochemical active surface area and high electrocatalytic activity for the methanol electrooxidation in acid medium for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). The mass specific anodic peak current density is 756.7 mA mg−1 Pt for the methanol oxidation on the Pd/Pt NWA electrode, an increase by a factor of four as compared to conventional E-TEK PtRu/C electrocatalysts. The mechanism of the significant enhancement of the Pd/Pt core/shell NWA nanostructure in the efficiency and electrocatalytic activity of Pt for the methanol electrooxidation in acid medium is discussed.  相似文献

PtRu 1D nanostructures on titanium are prepared and analysed as electrocatalysts for methanol electrooxidation. The morphology and composition of the 1D nanostructure are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The electrocatalytic properties of such catalysts for methanol oxidation are investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry (CA) in 1.0 M CH3OH + 0.5 M H2SO4 aqueous solution. The results show that Pt46Ru54 nanotubes yields to a five-fold improvement of the mass specific activity and to a three-fold improvement of the long-term poisoning rate as compared to PtRu black of similar composition.  相似文献

The PtRu/C electrocatalyst with high loading (PtRu of 60 wt%) was prepared by synergetic effect of ultrasonic radiation and mechanical stirring. Physicochemical characterizations show that the size of PtRu particles of as-prepared PtRu/C catalyst is only several nanometers (2–4 nm), and the PtRu nanoparticles were homogeneously dispersed on carbon surface. Electrochemistry and single passive direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) tests indicate that the as-prepared PtRu/C electrocatalyst possessed larger electrochemical active surface (EAS) area and enhanced electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation reaction (MOR). The enhancement could be attributed to the synergetic effect of ultrasound radiation and mechanical stirring, which can avoid excess concentration of partial solution and provide a uniform environment for the nucleation and growth of metal particles simultaneously hindering the agglomeration of PtRu particles on carbon surface.  相似文献

A new sorbent based on cysteine modified silica gel (SiG-cys) was prepared and studied for preconcentration and separation of noble metals Au(III), Pd(II), Pt(II), Pt(IV). Its extraction efficiency was examined by batch and column solid phase extraction procedures. Laboratory experiments performed showed that sorbent is characterized with high selectivity, permiting quantitative sorption (93–97%) of noble metals Au, Pd and Pt from acidic media 0.1–2 mol L? 1 HCl and unsignificant sorption (less than 2%) for common base metals like Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn. The analytes retained on the sorbent are effectively eluted with 0.1 mol L? 1 thiourea in 0.1 mol L? 1 HCl and measured by ETAAS or ICP OES under optimal instrumental parameters. The sorbent showed high mechanical and chemical stability and extraction efficiency was not changed after 500 cycles of sorption/desorption. The sorbent was successfully applied in analyticals procedures for preconcentration and determination of Au, Pd and Pt in geological and soil samples. Detection limits (3σ criteria) achieved, depending on the instrumental methods used are: ETAAS (0.005 μg L? 1 for Au in river and sea water, 0.002 μg g? 1 for Au in copper ore and copper concentrate); ICP OES (0.03 μg L? 1 for Pd and 0.06 μg L? 1 for Pt in river and sea water, 0.006 μg g? 1 for Pd in copper ore and copper concentrate and 0.002 μg g? 1 for soluble Pt in soil). The accuracy of the procedures developed was confirmed by added/found method for sea and river water; by the analysis of national certified materials (copper ore and copper concentrate for Au and Pd) and by determination of the sum of soluble Pt(II) + Pt(IV) in spiked soil samples.  相似文献

Well-defined tungsten-oxide-supported platinum nanoparticles (Pt/WOx) were elaborated by impregnation-reduction of a platinum salt onto commercial monoclinic WO3. Field-emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed that the Pt particles are well-distributed on the oxide support, present a narrow particle size distribution centered on ca. 2–3 nm and a low degree of agglomeration. Carbon black was added to ensure electronic percolation in the electrodes during the electrochemical measurements. COads electrooxidation currents were monitored at potentials as low as 0.1 V vs. RHE on Pt/WOx, demonstrating high CO-tolerance compared to carbon-supported Pt or PtRu catalysts.  相似文献

This research is aimed to increase the activity of anodic catalysts and thus to lower noble metal loading in anodes for methanol electrooxidation. The Pt–Ni–Pb/C catalysts with different molar compositions were prepared. Their performance were tested by using a glassy carbon disk electrode through cyclic voltammetric curves in a solution of 0.5 mol L−1 CH3OH and 0.5 mol L−1 H2SO4. The performances of Pt–Ni–Pb/C catalyst with optimum composition (the molar ratio of Pt/Ni/Pb is 5:4:1) and Pt/C (E-Tek) were also compared. Their particle sizes and structures were determined by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD). The XRD results show, compared with that of Pt/C, the lattice parameter of Pt–Ni–Pb (5:4:1)/C catalyst decreases, its diffraction peaks are shifted slightly to a higher 2θ values. This indicates the formation of an alloy involving the incorporation of Ni and Pb atoms into the fcc structure of Pt. The electrochemical measurement shows the activity of Pt–Ni–Pb/C catalyst with an atomic ratio of 5:4:1 for methanol electrooxidation is the best among all different compositions. The activity of Pt–Ni–Pb (5:4:1)/C catalyst is much higher than that of Pt/C (E-Tek).  相似文献

Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activities were evaluated for clean Pt(111) and Ni/Pt(111) model catalysts fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy. Exposure of clean Pt(111) to 1.0 L CO at 303 K produced linear-bonded and bridge-bonded CO-Pt IR bands at 2093 and 1858 cm? 1. In contrast, 0.3-nm-thick Ni deposited on Pt(111) at 573 K (573 K-Ni0.3 nm/Pt(111)) produced broad IR bands for adsorbed CO at around 2070 cm? 1; the separation of reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED) streaks is slightly wider for 573 K-Ni0.3 nm/Pt(111) than for the clean Pt(111). For 823 K-Ni0.3 nm/Pt(111), the separation of the RHEED streaks is the same as that for the Pt(111), and a single sharp IR band due to adsorbed CO is located at 2082 cm? 1. The results suggest that for the 823 K-Ni0.3 nm/Pt(111), a Pt-enriched outermost surface (Pt-skin) was formed through surface segregation of the substrate Pt atoms. ORR activities for the 573 K- and 823 K-Ni0.3 nm/Pt(111) as determined from linear sweep voltammetry curves were five times and eight times higher than that for clean Pt(111), respectively, demonstrating that Pt-skin generation is crucial for developing highly active electrode catalysts for fuel cells.  相似文献

We prepared Pt nanocube catalyst with about 3.6 nm in size by a polyol process in the presence of PVP as a stabilizer and Fe ion as a kinetic controller. The crystal structure of Pt nanocube with {1 0 0} faces was confirmed by field-emission transmission electron microscopy. In a cyclic voltammogram, we found that the Pt nanocube catalyst showed relatively high ratio of the forward anodic peak current to the reverse anodic peak current resulting in less accumulation of residues on the catalyst. The Pt nanocube catalyst with the edge of stepped {1 0 0} faces was preferable to breakage of CH3OH and CH3CH2OH compared to polycrystalline Pt nanocatalyst. In an electrochemical measurement for methanol and ethanol electrooxidation, the Pt nanocube catalyst showed an excellent catalytic activity, i.e., lower onset potential and higher current density, compared to the polycrystalline Pt nanocatalyst.  相似文献

The carbon fibrous mats with high conductivity (50 S cm−1) formed by carbon nanofibers with an average diameter of ∼150 nm have been fabricated by thermally treating the electrospun polyacrylonitrile fibers. The platinum clusters are electrodeposited on the carbon nanofibrous mats (CFMs) by multi-cycle CV method. In contrast to the catalytic peak current of methanol oxidation on commercial catalyst (185 mA mg−1 Pt), the catalytic peak current on optimum Pt/CFM electrode reaches to ∼420 mA mg−1 Pt despite of the large size (50–200 nm) of the Pt clusters, revealing that the special structure of carbon fibrous mats is favorable to improve the performance of catalyst.  相似文献

Nanoclusters of Pt, Pt–Rh, Pt–SnO2 and Pt–Rh–SnO2 were successfully synthesized by polyol method and deposited on high-area carbon. HRTEM and XRD analysis revealed two phases in the ternary Pt–Rh–SnO2/C catalyst: solid solution of Rh in Pt and SnO2. The activity of Pt–Rh–SnO2/C for ethanol oxidation was found to be much higher than Pt/C and Pt–Rh/C and also superior to Pt–SnO2/C. Quasi steady-state measurements at various temperatures (30–60 °C), ethanol concentrations (0.01–1 M) and H2SO4 concentrations (0.02–0.5 M) showed that Pt–Rh–SnO2/C is about 20 times more active than Pt/C in the potential range of interest for the fuel cell application.  相似文献

In this work, a new promoter, tetrasulfophthalocyanine (FeTSPc), one kind of environmental friendly material, was found to be very effective in both inhibiting self-poisoning and improving the intrinsic catalysis activity, consequently enhancing the electro-oxidation current during the electro-oxidation of formic acid. The cyclic voltammograms test showed that the formic acid oxidation peak current density has been increased about 10 times compared with that of the Pt electrode without FeTSPc. The electrochemical double potential step chronoamperometry measurements revealed that the apparent activity energy decreases from 20.64 kJ mol−1 to 17.38 kJ mol−1 after Pt electrode promoted by FeTSPc. The promoting effect of FeTSPc may be owed to the specific structure and abundant electrons of FeTSPc resulting in both the steric hindrance of the formation of poisoning species (CO) and intrinsic kinetic enhancement. In the single cell test, the performance of DFAFC increased from 80 mW cm−2 mg−1 (Pt) to 130 mW cm−2 mg−1 after the anode electrode adsorbed FeTSPc.  相似文献

Dealloyed PtAg/C nanostructures, prepared by selective electrochemical etching of Ag in 0.5 M H2SO4 from a series of alloyed PtmAg/C samples with atomic Pt/Ag ratio m = 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5, were employed as cathode electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in 0.5 M KOH. Compared with their as-prepared counterpart alloy catalysts, the dealloyed catalysts showed higher half-wave potentials (E1/2) and significantly higher Pt mass-specific activity (MSA) data. The intrinsic activity (IA) of Pt increased more or less after the dealloying treatment but was strongly dependent on the composition (m) of the alloyed sample. The Pt IA numbers were comparable for the dealloyed catalysts derived from PtmAg/C of m = 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5, which were nearly twice that for E-TEK Pt/C catalyst and 3 times that for the dealloyed catalyst derived from Pt0.1Ag/C.  相似文献

In this study, new xanthine biosensors, XO/Au/PVF/Pt and XO/Pt/PVF/Pt, based on electroless deposition of gold(Au) and platinum(Pt) nanoparticles on polyvinylferrocene(PVF) coated Pt electrode for detection of xanthine were presented. The amperometric responses of the enzyme electrodes were measured at the constant potential, which was due to the electrooxidation of enzymatically produced H2O2. Compared with XO/PVF/Pt electrode, XO/Au/PVF/Pt and XO/Pt/PVF/Pt exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of the analyte. Effect of Au and Pt nanoparticles was investigated by monitoring the response currents at the different deposition times and the different concentrations of KAuCl4 and PtBr2. Under the optimal conditions, the calibration curves of XO/Au/PVF/Pt and XO/Pt/PVF/Pt were obtained over the range of 2.5 × 10?3 to 0.56 mM and 2.0 × 10?3 to 0.66 mM, respectively. The detection limits were 7.5 × 10?4 mM for XO/Au/PVF/Pt and 6.0 × 10?4 mM for XO/Pt/PVF/Pt. The effects of interferents, the operational and the storage stabilities of the biosensors and the applicabilities of the proposed biosensors to the drug samples analysis were also evaluated.  相似文献

Rhodium adlayers (submonolayer range) have been prepared on Pt(1 0 0) electrodes by electrodeposition from acidic solutions containing an excess of chloride. These Rh/Pt(1 0 0) electrodes give a well-defined voltammetric signal in the hydrogen adsorption region, which gives evidence of a high level of order in the Rh adlayer and allow a reliable estimation of the coverage. The voltammetric behavior of the Rh/Pt(1 0 0) electrodes points to an epitaxial growth with formation of rhodium islands. The well-ordered bimetallic surfaces freshly prepared were tested as electrocatalysts for nitrous oxide reduction and the responses were compared with those of the bulk Pt(1 0 0) and Rh(1 0 0) electrodes. The voltammogram for the bimetallic surface showed well separated N2O reduction signals for Rh and Pt surface zones. An exceptionally high electrocatalytic activity for the Rh adlayer was found for low coverages. This behavior is explained on the basis of a high activity of the rhodium adatoms in the periphery of the islands.  相似文献

The activities of Pt/WO2, Ir/WO2 and Pt–Ir/WO2 toward the conversion of methylcyclopentane (MCP) were investigated. The catalysts were prepared using impregnation and co-impregnation methods and were characterized by SEM, XRD, N2-sorption and TEM investigations. The most active catalyst toward the conversion of MCP, irrespective of the temperature, was Ir/WO2. The order of the reactivity was Ir/WO2 > Pt–Ir/WO2 > Pt/WO2. Strong metal–support interactions (SMSI) were observed for all the catalysts over the entire investigated temperature range. At 400 °C, the Pt and Pt–Ir showed 100% selectivity toward ring-enlargement reactions associated with the presence of electron-deficient adduct sites on the reducible acidic WO2 support. Ring opening occurred over all the catalysts in three positions, resulting in the formation of 2-methylpentane (2-MP), 3-methylpentane (3-MP), and n-hexane (n-H). Difficulty in breaking the secondary – tertiary carbon bonds was observed predominantly on the Ir catalyst, which opens the MCP ring via a selective mechanism.  相似文献
