Composites of electrospun poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) fibers and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were used as a soft template for coating with TiO2 by atomic layer deposition (ALD). Whereas the as‐deposited TiO2 layers on PEO fibers and Ag NPs were completely amorphous, the TiO2 layers were transformed into polycrystalline TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) with embedded Ag NPs after calcination. Their plasmonic effect can be controlled by varying the thickness of the dielectric Al2O3 spacer between Ag NPs and dye molecules by means of the ALD process. Electronic and spectroscopic analyses demonstrated enhanced photocurrent generation and solar‐cell performance due to the intense electromagnetic field of the dye resulting from the surface plasmon effect of the Ag NPs.  相似文献

The activation of Au–Ag plasmonic bimetallic nanocatalyst can make the nanocatalyst exhibit superior visible-light (VL) photocatalytic activity. An efficient activation of Au–Ag nanocatalyst by cold plasma requires the restructuring of Au and Ag species over catalyst surface to form Au–Ag alloy nanoparticles while suppressing agglomeration of the nanoparticles. We here report that the loading sequence of Au and Ag components on titanium dioxide (TiO2) support during catalyst preparation and discharge atmosphere play important roles in the plasma activation. Preparation of AuAg/TiO2 nanocatalyst by depositing Ag and Au in sequence could avoid the undesired loss of Ag component, and ensure an effective restructuring of Au and Ag species in O2 plasma activation. Compared with the reductive (H2) and inert (Ar and N2) plasmas, discharge in oxidative O2 establishes Coulomb field with the negatively charged species over catalyst surface and enable the restructuring and intimate interaction of Au and Ag species. The catalyst characterization and density functional theory calculations suggest that O2 plasma endows AuAg/TiO2 nanocatalyst with large numbers of Au–Ag alloy nanoparticles, small size of plasmonic nanoparticles, high density of coordinatively unsaturated sites, and high content of surface oxygen species in the activation, which facilitates the adsorption and activation of O2, and thus CO oxidation reaction under VL irradiation.

Janus nanoparticles (JNPs) offer unique features, including the precisely controlled distribution of compositions, surface charges, dipole moments, modular and combined functionalities, which enable excellent applications that are unavailable to their symmetrical counterparts. Assemblies of NPs exhibit coupled optical, electronic and magnetic properties that are different from single NPs. Herein, we report a new class of double‐layered plasmonic–magnetic vesicle assembled from Janus amphiphilic Au‐Fe3O4 NPs grafted with polymer brushes of different hydrophilicity on Au and Fe3O4 surfaces separately. Like liposomes, the vesicle shell is composed of two layers of Au‐Fe3O4 NPs in opposite direction, and the orientation of Au or Fe3O4 in the shell can be well controlled by exploiting the amphiphilic property of the two types of polymers.  相似文献

Mesoporous TiO2 nanocrystalline film was formed on fluorine‐doped tin oxide electrode (TiO2/FTO) and gold nanoparticles (NPs) of different sizes were loaded onto the surface with the loading amount kept constant (Au/TiO2/FTO). Visible‐light irradiation (λ>430 nm) of the Au/TiO2/FTO photoanode in a photoelectrochemical cell with the structure of photoanode|0.1 m NaClO4 aqueous solution|Ag/AgCl (reference electrode)|glassy carbon (cathode) leads to the oxidation of water to oxygen (O2). We show that the visible‐light activity of the Au/TiO2/FTO anode increases with a decrease in Au particle size (d) at 2.9≤d≤11.9 nm due to the enhancement of the charge separation and increasing photoelectrocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Underpotential photodeposition of Pb yields an ultrathin shell layer on the Au(111) surface of Au nanoparticle(NP)‐loaded TiO2 (Au/TiO2) with heteroepitaxial nanojunctions. The localized surface plasmon resonance of Au/TiO2 undergoes no damping with the Pb‐shell formation, and the Pb shell offers resistance to aerobic oxidation. Mesoporous films comprising the Au(core)–Pb(shell) NP‐loaded TiO2 and unmodified Au/TiO2 were formed on fluorine‐doped tin oxide (FTO) electrode. Using them as the photoanode, photoelectrochemical cells were fabricated, and the photocurrent was measured under illumination of simulated sunlight. The photocurrent for water splitting is dramatically enhanced by the Pb‐shell formation. The photoelectrochemical measurements of the hot‐electron lifetime and density functional theory calculations for model clusters indicate that the Pb‐shell effect originates from the charge separation enhancement.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticle (Au‐NPs)‐Titanium oxide nanotube (TiO2‐NTs) electrodes are prepared by using galvanic deposition of gold nanoparticles on TiO2‐NTs electrodes as support. Scanning electron microscopy and energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy results indicate that nanotubular TiO2 layers consist of individual tubes of about 60–90 nm diameters and gold nanoparticles are well‐dispersed on the surface of TiO2‐NTs support. The electrooxidation of hydroquinone of Au‐NPs/TiO2‐NTs electrodes is investigated by different electrochemical methods. Au‐NPs/TiO2‐NTs electrode can be used repeatedly and exhibits stable electrocatalytic activity for the hydroquinone oxidation. Also, determination of hydroquinone in skin cream using this electrode was evaluated. Results were found to be satisfactory and no matrix effects are observed during the determination of hydroquinone content of the “skin cream” samples.  相似文献

A novel plasmonic photocatalyst, i.e., acid-etched TiO2 nanobelts attached with Ag/AgI nanoparticles (NPs) was prepared by deposition–precipitation-photoreduction method. Such surface-modified nanobelts had larger area than the normal one. Ag NPs were formed from AgI by photo-reduction under Xenon lamp irradiation. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy analysis, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectra and fluorescence spectra were used to characterize the structure and optical properties of the sample. The obtained sample exhibited strong photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) under visible light irradiation, which were attributed to both the surface plasmon resonance of Ag NPs and the visible light actived AgI. The photodegradation was accomplished by the transfer of photoexcited electrons from the Ag NPs to the acid-etched TiO2 nanobelts. After four cycles of photodegradation the photocatalyst was still stable. This novel photocatalyst had a high potential application in wastewater-treatment and biomedical engineering.  相似文献

In a tannic acid assisted synthesis of mesoporous TiO2, tannic acid was used as a cost effective and non‐toxic template for pore formation. Meanwhile, a gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) deposited TiO2 nanocomposite was coated on an indium tin oxide electrode for the fabrication of a photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensing system. Upon the formation of anatase structure, the electrode was coated with MoS2 for effective visible light absorption. The mesoporous structure led to an enhanced surface area by improving Au NPs and glucose oxidase adsorption. Incorporation of Au NPs led to an enhanced photonic efficiency due to the generation of Schottky barriers. The obtained nanocomposite was used for the light‐driven, real‐time, and selective PEC glucose sensing. Under visible light irradiation, the enzyme immobilized electrodes yielded significant photocurrent improvement owing to the releasing electron donor H2O2. The obtained PEC biosensor demonstrated acceptable reproducibility and stability with a sensitivity of 4.42 μA mM?1 cm?2 and a low detection limit of 1.2 μM glucose. Also, the linear measurement range was found to be 0.004–1.75 mM glucose. The results indicated that the proposed production method of mesoporous TiO2 will pave the way for a green chemistry based porous material production, along with the extension of the implementation of semiconductors in PEC biosensing systems.  相似文献

An acid urethane oligodimethacrylate based on poly(ethylene glycol) was synthesized and used in the preparation of hybrid composites containing silsesquioxane sequences and titania domains formed through sol‐gel reactions along with silver/gold nanoparticles (Ag/Au NPs) in situ photogenerated during the UV‐curing process. The photopolymerization kinetics studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and photoDSC showed that the photoreactivity of the investigated formulations depends on the amount of titanium butoxide (5–20 wt %) added in the system subjected to UV irradiation. The introduction of 1 wt % AgNO3/AuBr3 in formulations slightly improved the degree of conversion but diminished the polymerization rates. The formation of hybrid materials comprising predominantly amorphous TiO2/SiO2 NPs, with or without Ag/Au NPs, was confirmed through specific analyses. The evaluation of photocatalytic activity demonstrated that the synthesized hybrid films are suitable for the complete removal of organic pollutants (phenolic compounds) from water under UV irradiation (200–350 min) at low intensity (found in the solar radiation). © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three catalytic oxidation reactions have been studied: The ultraviolet (UV) light induced photocatalytic decomposition of the synthetic dye sulforhodamine B (SRB) in the presence of TiO2 nanostructures in water, together with two reactions employing Au/TiO2 nanostructure catalysts, namely, CO oxidation in air and the decomposition of formaldehyde under visible light irradiation. Four kinds of TiO2 nanotubes and nanorods with different phases and compositions were prepared for this study, and gold nanoparticle (Au‐NP) catalysts were supported on some of these TiO2 nanostructures (to form Au/TiO2 catalysts). FTIR emission spectroscopy (IES) measurements provided evidence that the order of the surface OH regeneration ability of the four types of TiO2 nanostructures studied gave the same trend as the catalytic activities of the TiO2 nanostructures or their respective Au/TiO2 catalysts for the three oxidation reactions. Both IES and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) proved that anatase TiO2 had the strongest OH regeneration ability among the four types of TiO2 phases or compositions. Based on these results, a model for the surface OH group generation, absorption, and activation of molecular oxygen has been proposed: The oxygen vacancies at the bridging O2? sites on TiO2 surfaces dissociatively absorb water molecules to form OH groups that facilitate adsorption and activation of O2 molecules in nearby oxygen vacancies by lowering the absorption energy of molecular O2. A new mechanism for the photocatalytic formaldehyde decomposition with the Au/TiO2 catalysts is also proposed, based on the photocatalytic activity of the Au‐NPs under visible light. The Au‐NPs absorb the light owing to the surface plasmon resonance effect and mediate the electron transfers that the reaction needs.  相似文献

A key to realizing the sustainable society is to develop highly active photocatalysts for selective organic synthesis effectively using sunlight as the energy source. Recently, metal‐oxide‐supported gold nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as a new type of visible‐light photocatalysts driven by the excitation of localized surface plasmon resonance of Au NPs. Here we show that visible‐light irradiation (λ>430 nm) of TiO2‐supported Au NPs with a bimodal size distribution (BM‐Au/TiO2) gives rise to the long‐range (>40 nm) electron transport from about 14 small (ca. 2 nm) Au NPs to one large (ca. 9 nm) Au NP through the conduction band of TiO2. As a result of the enhancement of charge separation, BM‐Au/TiO2 exhibits a high level of visible‐light activity for the one‐step synthesis of azobenzenes from nitrobenzenes at 25 °C with a yield greater than 95 % and a selectivity greater than 99 %, whereas unimodal Au/TiO2 (UM‐Au/TiO2) is photocatalytically inactive.  相似文献

A facile method was used to prepare hollow mesoporous TiO2 and Au@TiO2 spheres using polystyrene (PS) templates. Au nanoparticles (NPs) were simultaneously synthesized and attached on the surface of PS spheres by reducing AuCl4? ions using sodium citrate which resulted in the uniform deposition of Au NPs. The outer coating of titania via sol‐gel produced PS@Au@TiO2 core–shell spheres. Removing the templates from these core–shell spheres through calcination produced hollow mesoporous and crystalline Au@TiO2 spheres with Au NPs inside the TiO2 shell in a single step. Anatase spheres with double Au NPs layers, one inside and another outside of TiO2 shell, were also prepared. Different characterization techniques indicated the hollow mesoporous and crystalline morphology of the prepared spheres with Au NPs. Hollow anatase spheres with Au NPs indicated enhanced harvesting of visible light and therefore demonstrated efficient catalytic activity toward the degradation of organic dyes under the irradiation of visible light as compared to bare TiO2 spheres.  相似文献

Among different metallic nanoparticles, sliver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) are one of the most essential and fascinating nanomaterials. Importantly, among the metal based nanoparticles, Ag NPs play a key role in various fields such as biomedicine, biosensors, catalysis, pharmaceuticals, nanoscience and nanotechnology, particularly in nanomedicine. A main concern about the chemical synthesis of Ag NPs is the production of hazardous chemicals and toxic wastes. To overcome this problem, many research studies have been carried out on the green synthesis of Ag NPs using green sources such as plant extracts, microorganisms and some biopolymers without formation of hazardous wastes. Among green sources, plants could be remarkably valuable to exploring the biosynthesis of Ag NPs. In this review, the green synthesis of Ag‐based nanocatalysts such as Ag NPs, AgPd NPs, Au?Ag NPs, Ag/AgPd NPs, Ag/Cu NPs, Ag@AgCl NPs, Au?Ag@AgCl nanocomposite, Ag?Cr‐AC nanocomposite and Ag NPs immobilized on various supports such as Natrolite zeolite, bone, ZnO, seashell, hazelnut shell, almond shell, SnO2, perlite, ZrO2, TiO2, α‐Al2O3, CeO2, reduced graphene oxide (rGO), h‐Fe2O3@SiO2, and Fe3O4 using numerous plant extracts as reducing and stabilizing agents in the absence of hazardous surfactant and capping agents has been focused. This work describes the state of the art and future challenges in the biosynthesis of Ag‐based nanocatalysts. The fact about the application of living plants in metal nanoparticle (MNPs) industry is that it is a more economical and efficient biosynthesis biosynthetic procedure. In addition, the catalytic activities of the synthesized, Ag‐based recyclable nanocatalysts using various plant extracts in several chemical reactions such as oxidation, reduction, coupling, cycloaddition, cyanation, epoxidation, hydration, degradation and hydrogenation reactions have bben extensively discussed.  相似文献

Au core Ag shell composite structure nanoparticles were prepared using a sol method. The Au core Ag shell composite nanoparticles were loaded on TiO2 nanoparticles as support using a modified powder–sol method, enabling the generation of Au @ Ag/TiO2 photocatalysts for photocatalytic decomposition and elimination of ozone. The sols were characterized by means of ultraviolet–visible light (UV–Vis) reflection spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The activity of the Au @ Ag/TiO2 photocatalysts for photocatalytic decomposition and elimination of ozone was evaluated and the effect of Cl? anions on the photocatalytic activity of the catalysts was highlighted. Results showed that Au @ Ag/TiO2 prepared via the modified powder–sol route in the presence of an appropriate amount of NaCl solid as demulsifier had better activity in the photocatalytic decomposition and elimination of ozone. At the same time, Au @ Ag/TiO2 catalysts had better ability to resist poisonous Cl? anions than conventional Au/TiO2 catalyst. The reasons could be, first, that NaCl was capable of reducing the concentration of free Ag+ by adsorption on the surface of Ag particles forming AgCl and enhancing the formation of Au core Ag shell particles, leading to a better resistance to Cl? anions of the catalysts, and, second, AgCl took part in the photocatalytic decomposition of ozone together with Au @ Ag/TiO2 catalysts and had a synergistic effect on the latter, resulting in better photocatalytic activity of Au @ Ag/TiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

A nano-Au modified TiO2 electrode was prepared via the oxidation of Ti sheet in flame and subsequent modification with gold nanoparticles. The results of SEM and TEM measurements show that the Au nanoparticles are well dispersed on TiO2 surface. A near 2-fold enhancement in photocurrent was achieved upon the modification with Au nanoparticles. From the results of photocurrent and electrochemical impedance experiments it was found that the flatband potential of nano-Au/TiO2 electrode negatively shifted about 100 mV in 0.5 mol/L Na2SO4 solutions compared with that of bare TiO2 electrode. The improvement of photoelectrochemical performance was explained by the inhibition for charge recombination of photo-induced electrons and holes, and the promotion for interracial charge-transfer kinetics at nano-Au/TiO2 composite film. Such nanometal-semiconductor composite films have the potential application in improving the performance of photoelectrochemical solar cells.

It is challenging to study the single semiconductor nanocrystal electrochemistry and photoelectrochemistry. The photocatalytic processes, such as the oxidation of methanol and iodide, that result from the electron–hole pair formed within a nanoparticle (NP) allow the detection of discrete current transient events assigned to single entities. Photocatalytic current amplification allows detection of collisions between the semiconductor NPs and the ultramicroelectrode that produce current transient. Staircase responses and blips in the i vs. t response indicate that irreversible and reversible NP/electrode interactions result depending on the experimental conditions. Dye sensitization increases the photocurrent magnitude of ZnO and TiO2 with respect to bare TiO2 NPs. The microelectrodes used are Pt, TiO2/Pt, TiO2/Au, and F-doped SnO2.  相似文献

The mechanism of interaction of Zn porphyrin (ZnPP) with TiO2 surfaces is investigated with a view to optimizing the synthesis of hybrid nanomaterials. The strategy consists of studying the adsorption of ZnPP on TiO2 flat surfaces by taking advantage of complementary surface characterization techniques. Combining a detailed X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis with AFM imaging allows ZnPP–surface and ZnPP intermolecular interactions to be discriminated. Probing the adsorption of ZnPP on TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) reveals the dominant role of ZnPP‐mediated interactions, which are associated with the formation of ZnPP multilayers and/or with the state of aggregation of NPs. These preliminary investigations provide a guideline to synthesizing a novel ZnPP–TiO2 hybrid nanomaterial in a one‐step protocol. In this material, ZnPP molecules are presumably involved in the TiO2 lattice rather than on the NP surface. Furthermore, ZnPP molecules preserve their electronic properties within the TiO2 NPs, and this makes the ZnPP–TiO2 hybrid nanomaterial an excellent candidate for nanomedicine and related applications, such as localization of nanoparticles in cells and tissues or in photodynamic therapy.  相似文献

This article deals with the detection of Co(II) in real water sample using aptamer – reactant platform combination with activated Ag–Au alloy nanoparticles (NPs) by chemiluminescence (CL) method. CL is attributed to a catalytically enhanced decomposition of H2O2 by aptamer conjugated Ag–Au alloy NPs to produce reactive oxygen species. The Ag–Au alloy NPs were prepared by chemical method using double reducing agent (i.e. trisodium citrate and polyethylenimine) and used for detection of Co(II) from water by CL method. CL experiments were carried out with the variation of different parameters such as pH, concentration of luminol, concentration of H2O2 and Ag–Au alloy NPs. We found that Ag–Au alloy NPs have very good efficiency towards Co(II) detection. Analytical parameters and kinetics were studied in detail to know the nature and mechanism of CL in presence of aptamer conjugated Ag–Au alloy NPs. The linear range of the CL sensor of Co(II) is covered concentration from 0.01 to 10 µg/L with detection limit of 0.001 µg/L. The relative standard deviation for determination of Co(II) was 6.65 in 10 replicated measurements. CL method is first time applied to detect the Co(II) in real water samples at very low level using aptamer conjugated Ag–Au NPs as a catalyst.  相似文献

Plasmonic superstructures (PS) based on Au/SiO2 were prepared for Shell-Isolated Nanoparticle-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SHINERS) in liquid phase applications. These superstructures are composed of functionalized SiO2 spheres with plasmonic Au nanoparticles (NPs) on their surface. Functionalization was performed with (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane, (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane and poly(ethylene-imine) (PEI). Of these three, PEI-functionalized spheres showed the highest adsorption density of Au NPs in TEM, UV/Vis and dynamic light scattering (DLS) experiments. Upon decreasing the Au NP/SiO2 sphere size ratio, an increase in adsorption density was also observed. To optimize plasmonic activity, 61 nm Au NPs were adsorbed onto 900 nm SiO2-PEI spheres and these PS were coated with an ultrathin layer (1–2 nm) of SiO2 to obtain Shell-Isolated Plasmonic Superstructures (SHIPS), preventing direct contact between Au NPs and the liquid medium. Zeta potential measurements, TEM and SHINERS showed that SiO2 coating was successful. The detection limit for SHINERS using SHIPS and a 638 nm laser was around 10−12 m of Rhodamine (10−15 m for uncoated PS), all with acquisition settings suitable for catalysis applications.  相似文献
