A ThermoFinnigan sheath liquid flow capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry system designed for coupling via a co-axial interface was coupled through an adapted via an alternative, commercially available interface for orthogonal sampling. The affordable, reversible structural alterations made in the commercial LC-MS interface resulted in improved analytical performance.The results of a conventional capillary electrophoresis (CE) method using a commercial co-axial source to determine antioxidant phenolic acids present in virgin olive oil, were compared with those obtained by using a modified orthogonal sampling position. In both cases, separations were done using a 10 mM ammonium acetate/ammonium hydroxide buffer solution at pH 10.0 and a constant applied voltage of 25 kV. The operating variables for the mass spectrometry interface were re-optimized for the modified orthogonal orientation. This allowed the sheath liquid, sheath gas flow rates and capillary voltage to be lowered with respect to the co-axial coupling configuration. In addition, the orthogonal sampling position provided a higher selectivity by effect of ion sampling excluding larger droplets—with an increased momentum along the axis—which were drained through the sink at the bottom of the ion source. Also, the new configuration facilitated sample ionization, improved electrospray stability and led to stronger signals as a result.The new system was validated in terms of precision (repeatability), linearity, and limits of detection and quantification. A comparison of the validation data with the results previously obtained by using a commercial co-axial configuration revealed the adapted orthogonal sampling position to provide better repeatability in both migration times and relative peak areas (<1% and 7% respectively with n = 15 replicates), a good linear range (with levels in the microgram-per-litre region) and lower limits of detection—especially for the compounds detected with the lowest sensitivity when co-axial ESI was used, as HFA, GEN, FER and VAN finding LOD among 24-3.0 μg L−1 respectively.  相似文献

Disubstituted peptide ferrocenes conjugates were prepared from ferrocenedicarboxylic acid (Fc(OH)2) and glycineethylester. After conversion of the resulting ester Fc(Gly-OEt)21 into the corresponding acid Fc(Gly-OH)22 by ester hydrolysis, significant structural changes take place in the way the molecules interact with each other. Complex 1 adopts a 1,3-conformation showing extensive intermolecular H-bonding forming 1-D chains, whereas complex 2 displays a compact 1,2-conformation in which the NH on one strand engage in strong intramolecular cross-strand H-bonding involving the amide CO on the opposite strand. Additional intermolecular H-bonding in 2 allows the formation of a 2-D net. In essence, ester-deprotection allows us to switch the ferrocene conformation and the H-bonding pattern.  相似文献

A general method is presented for the preparation of tert-butyl esters by the gentle warming of the carboxylic acid in the presence of excess of tert-butyl acetoacetate and a catalytic amount of acid. The electrochemical detection of artemisinin generally requires high oxidation potential or the use of complex electrode modification. We find that artemisinin can react with p-aminophenylboronic acid to produce easily electrochemically detectable aminophenol for the first time. By making use of the new reaction, we report an alternative method to detect artemisinin through the determination of p-aminophenol. The calibration curve for the determination of artemisinin is linear in the range of 2 μmol L−1 to 200 μmol L−1 with the detection limit of 0.8 μmol L−1, which is more sensitive than other reported electrochemical methods. The relative standard deviation is 4.83% for the determination of 10 μM artemisinin. Because the oxidation potential of p-aminophenol is around 0 V, the present method is high selective. When 40 μM, 90 μM and 140 μM of artemisinin were spiked to compound naphthoquine phosphate tablet samples, the recoveries are 107.6%, 105.4% and 101.7%, respectively. This detection strategy is attractive for the detection of artemisinin and its derivatives. The finding that artemisinin can react with aromatic boronic acid has the potential to be exploited for the development of other sensors, such as fluorescence artemisinin sensors.  相似文献

An efficient synthesis of chiral N-tert-butanesulfinyl trifluoromethyl ketimines by using zirconium(IV) tert-butoxide is described. Compared to conventional titanium(IV) ethoxide, this protocol gave better result especially for sterically hindered ketones. In addition to the high reactivity, a high degree of enantiopurity of the N-tert-butanesulfinyl group is retained.  相似文献

A disposable electrochemical sensor was developed for the detection of vanillin in vanilla extracts and in commercial products. An analytical procedure based on square-wave voltammetry (SWV) was optimised and a detection limit of 0.4 μM for vanillin was found. A relative standard deviation of 2% was calculated for a vanillin concentration of 100 μM. The method was applied to the determination of vanillin in natural concentrated vanilla extracts and in final products such as yoghurt and compote. The obtained results were compared with those provided by a reference method based on HPLC. The electrochemical behaviour of other compounds (vanillic acid, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, etc.), generally present in natural oleoresins, were also studied, to check for interferences with respect to the vanillin voltammetric signal.  相似文献

A new method of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.)—alkalimetry in alcohol-water mixture with potentiometric end-point detection—for the assay of halide salts of alkaloids and other organic N-bases has been investigated using 13 substances. The results were compared to those obtained by nonaqueous direct acidimetry. In general, our measurements show that the Ph. Eur. method may be regarded as an environment-friendly, precise, reproducible approach, with average S.D. ±0.33. However, in six cases out of 13, the method did not work. In these cases, the first inflexion point, which should appear due to the neutralization of a defined, small volume of HCl added to the solution of the sample before the titration, was missing on the potentiometric titration curves. This was observed for papaverine chloride, pilocarpine chloride, pyridoxine chloride, thiamine chloride, histamine dichloride and noscapine chloride; this missing inflexion point hampered the exact measurement of the alkaloid content. This study shows that the method, in the present official form, can be applied only for compounds with pKa values of seven or higher. For the salts of weaker bases, a modified approach (titration in 70% ethanol, without addition of HCl) is proposed.  相似文献

A prominent sector of nanotechnology is occupied by a class of carbon-based nanoparticles known as fullerenes. Fullerene particle size and shape impact in how easily these particles are transported into and throughout the environment and living tissues. Currently, there is a lack of adequate methodology for their size and shape characterisation, identification and quantitative detection in environmental and biological samples. The most commonly used methods for their size measurements (aggregation, size distribution, shape, etc.), the effect of sampling and sample treatment on these characteristics and the analytical methods proposed for their determination in complex matrices are discussed in this review. For the characterisation and analysis of fullerenes in real samples, different analytical techniques including microscopy, spectroscopy, flow field-flow fractionation, electrophoresis, light scattering, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry have been reported. The existing limitations and knowledge gaps in the use of these techniques are discussed and the necessity to hyphenate complementary ones for the accurate characterisation, identification and quantitation of these nanoparticles is highlighted.  相似文献

The subsolidus phase relations of R2O3-CaO-CuO ternary systems (R=Nd, Sm, Gd, Tm) have been investigated by X-ray powder diffraction. All samples were synthesized at about 950° in air. There exists a ternary compound Ca14−xRxCu24O41 (x = 4 for R=Nd, Gd and x = 5 for R = Sm) and a ternary solid solution Ca2+xR2−xCu5O10 (R=Nd, Sm, Gd, Tm) with a wide composition range Δx of about 0.6. The compound Ca14−xRxCu24O41 possesses a layered orthorhombic structure and is isostructural to Sr14−xCaxCu24O41. The lattice parameters a and c of the compound are basically independent of the ionic radius of R, while the lattice parameter b and unit-cell volume V decrease substantially with the decrease of the ionic radii of R. The Ca2+xR2−xCu5O10 solid solution is isostructural to Ca2+xY2−xCu5O10, the structure of which is based on an orthorhombic “NaCuO2-type” subcell containing infinite one-dimensional chains of edge-shared square planar cuprate groups crosslinked by the layered cations Ca and R that locate in the inter-chain tunnels.  相似文献

p-tert-Butylcalix[8]arene bonded capillaries for open-tubular capillary electrochromatography were prepared with γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane as a bridge. The bonded capillary displayed low and steady electroosmotic flow (EOF) values over the pH range from 4 to 9. Detection limits for direct spectrophotometric detection at 277 nm for benzenediols (at a signal to noise ratio of 2) were 0.96 mg l−1 for the unbonded capillary and 1.48 mg l−1 for the bonded capillary, showing that the bonded layer did not show significant absorbance and hence decreased sensitivity. The bonded capillaries showed good separation selectivity for o-, m- and p-benzenediols, α- and β-naphthols, and α- and β-naphthylamines. This selectivity was attributed to significant interactions between the analytes and the bonded p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene, which contributed to the electrochromatographic separation mechanism. The bonded capillaries gave high stability and reproducibility.  相似文献

The article describes the synthesis and evaluation of the dichromate anion (Cr2O72−/HCr2O7) extraction properties of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene diamide derivatives (5-7) containing different binding sites. Among these compounds, 6 and 7 have been synthesized via aminolysis in a toluene-methanol solvent system with 3-aminomethylpyridine and 3,6-dioxa-1,8-diamino octane, respectively. On the other hand, compound 5 has been synthesized via an acid chloride method due to its inefficiency under aminolysis. The extraction properties of these diamides toward dichromate anions are studied by liquid-liquid extraction. The results show that p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene diamide derivative 7 exhibited a much higher affinity toward dichromate anions than that of 6 due to its special structure, while 5 was an ineffective ligand for these anions.  相似文献

Facile N-tert-butoxycarbonylation of amines is described by the treatment of various primary, secondary, benzylic and aryl amines with di-tert-butyl dicarbonate in the presence of catalytic amounts of La(NO3)3·6H2O under solvent-free conditions at room temperature to afford N-tert-butylcarbamates in excellent yields.  相似文献

A new method that utilizes p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde-modified nanometer SiO2 (SiO2-p-DMABD) as a solid phase extractant has been developed for simultaneous preconcentration of trace Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The preconcentration conditions of analytes were investigated, including the pH value, the shaking time, the mass of sorbent, the sample flow rate and volume, the elution condition and the interfering ions. The adsorption capacity of nanometer SiO2-p-DMABD was found to be (mg g− 1) Cr(III): 6.2, Cu(II): 18.6, Fe(III): 4.7 and Pb(II): 6.0 at pH 4. The adsorbed metals were quantitatively eluted with 4 mL of 1.0 mol L− 1 HCl. According to the definition of IUPAC, the detection limits (3σ) of this method for Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) were 0.79, 1.27, 0.40 and 1.79 ng mL− 1, respectively. The proposed method achieved satisfied results when it was applied to the determination of trace Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) in biological and water samples.  相似文献
