Interest and challenges remain in designing and synthesizing catalysts with nature-like complexity at few-nm scale to harness unprecedented functionalities by using sustainable solar light. We introduce “nanocatalosomes”—a bio-inspired bilayer-vesicular design of nanoreactor with metallic bilayer shell-in-shell structure, having numerous controllable confined cavities within few-nm interlayer space, customizable with different noble metals. The intershell-confined plasmonically coupled hot-nanospaces within the few-nm cavities play a pivotal role in harnessing catalytic effects for various organic transformations, as demonstrated by “acceptorless dehydrogenation”, “Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling” and “alkynyl annulation” affording clean conversions and turnover frequencies (TOFs) at least one order of magnitude higher than state-of-the-art Au-nanorod-based plasmonic catalysts. This work paves the way towards next-generation nanoreactors for chemical transformations with solar energy.  相似文献

An isoindigo‐based “double‐cable” conjugated polymer bearing perylene bisimide side units was developed via Stille polymerization for application in single‐component polymer solar cells, in which a power conversion efficiency of 1% with broad photo‐response from 300 nm to 800 nm was achieved. There is no evidence of large phase separation confirmed by AFM images and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The space charge limit current measurements and light intensity dependence measurements indicate that the low electron mobility and the significant recombination of photogenerated charge carriers in active layer mainly account for the low performance of our solar cells. Our results suggest that these “double‐cable” are promising candidates for use in single‐component polymer solar cells with NIR photoresponse.  相似文献

In this Review, we summarize the current state of the art in late‐transition‐metal‐catalyzed reactions of acyl fluorides, covering both their synthesis and further transformations. In organic reactions, the relationship between stability and reactivity of the starting substrates is usually characterized by a trade‐off. Yet, acyl fluorides display a very good balance between these properties, which is mostly due to their moderate electrophilicity. Thus, acyl fluorides (RCOF) can be used as versatile building blocks in transition‐metal‐catalyzed reactions, for example, as an “RCO” source in acyl coupling reactions, as an “R” source in decarbonylative coupling reactions, and as an “F” source in fluorination reactions. Starting from the cleavage of the acyl C?F bond in acyl fluorides, various transformations are accessible, including C?C, C?H, C?B, and C?F bond‐forming reactions that are catalyzed by transition‐metal catalysts that contain the Group 9–11 metals Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, or Cu.  相似文献

Ni‐based magnetic catalysts exhibit moderate activity, low cost, and magnetic reusability in hydrogenation reactions. However, Ni nanoparticles anchored on magnetic supports commonly suffer from undesirable agglomeration during catalytic reactions due to the relatively weak affinity of the magnetic support for the Ni nanoparticles. A hierarchical yolk–shell Fe@SiO2/Ni catalyst, with an inner movable Fe core and an ultrathin SiO2/Ni shell composed of nanosheets, was synthesized in a self‐templating reduction strategy with a hierarchical yolk–shell Fe3O4@nickel silicate nanocomposite as the precursor. The spatial confinement of highly dispersed Ni nanoparticles with a mean size of 4 nm within ultrathin SiO2 nanosheets with a thickness of 2.6 nm not only prevented their agglomeration during catalytic transformations but also exposed the abundant active Ni sites to reactants. Moreover, the large inner cavities and interlayer spaces between the assembled ultrathin SiO2/Ni nanosheets provided suitable mesoporous channels for diffusion of the reactants towards the active sites. As expected, the Fe@SiO2/Ni catalyst displayed high activity, high stability, and magnetic recoverability for the reduction of nitroaromatic compounds. In particular, the Ni‐based catalyst in the conversion of 4‐nitroamine maintained a rate of over 98 % and preserved the initial yolk–shell structure without any obvious aggregation of Ni nanoparticles after ten catalytic cycles, which confirmed the high structural stability of the Ni‐based catalyst.  相似文献

Water was investigated on a h‐BN/Rh(111) nanomesh template using variable temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Below 52 K, two distinct phases self‐assemble within the 3.2 nm unit cell of the nanomesh that consists of “holes” and “wires”. In the 2 nm holes, an ordered phase of nano‐ice crystals with about 40 molecules is found. The ice crystals arrange in a bilayer honeycomb lattice, where hydrogen atoms of the lower layer point to the substrate. The phase on the 1 nm wires is a low density gas phase. Tunneling barrier height dI/dz spectroscopy measurements reveal the dipoles of individual molecules in the nano‐ice clusters and access proton disorder.  相似文献

Novel β‐NaGdF4/Na(Gd,Yb)F4:Er/NaYF4:Yb/NaNdF4:Yb core/shell 1/shell 2/shell 3 (C/S1/S2/S3) multi‐shell nanocrystals (NCs) have been synthesized and used as probes for in vivo imaging. They can be excited by near‐infrared (800 nm) radiation and emit short‐wavelength infrared (SWIR, 1525 nm) radiation. Excitation at 800 nm falls into the “biological transparency window”, which features low absorption by water and low heat generation and is considered to be the ideal excitation wavelength with the least impact on biological tissues. After coating with phospholipids, the water‐soluble NCs showed good biocompatibility and low toxicity. With efficient SWIR emission at 1525 nm, the probe is detectable in tissues at depths of up to 18 mm with a low detection threshold concentration (5 nM for the stomach of nude mice and 100 nM for the stomach of SD rats). These results highlight the potential of the probe for the in vivo monitoring of areas that are otherwise difficult to analyze.  相似文献

The field of nanopore sensing at the single‐molecular level is in a “boom” period. Such nanopores, which are either composed of biological materials or are fabricated from solid‐state substrates, offer a unique confined space that is compatible with the single‐molecular scale. Under the influence of an electrical field, such single‐biomolecular interfaces can read single‐molecular information and, if appropriately fine‐tuned, each molecule plays its individual ionic rhythm to compose a “molecular symphony”. Over the past few decades, many research groups have worked on nanopore‐based single‐molecular sensors for a range of thrilling chemical and clinical applications. Furthermore, for the past decade, we have also focused on nanopore‐based sensors. In this Minireview, we summarize the recent developments in fundamental research and applications in this area, along with data algorithms and advances in hardware, which act as infrastructure for the electrochemical analysis.  相似文献

The photochemical conversion of carbon dioxide provides a straightforward and effective strategy for the highly efficient production of solar fuels with high solar‐light utilization efficiency. However, the high recombination rate of photoexcited electron–hole (e‐h) pairs and the poor photostability have greatly limited their practical applications. Herein, a practical strategy is proposed to facilitate the separation of e‐h pairs and enhance the photostability in a semiconductor by the use of a Schottky junction in a bimetal‐graphene‐semiconductor stack array. Importantly, Au‐Cu nanoalloys (ca. 3 nm) supported on a 3D ultrathin graphene shell encapsulating a p‐type Cu2O coaxial nanowire array promotes the stable photochemical reduction of CO2 to methanol by the synergetic catalytic effect of interfacial modulation and charge‐transfer channel design. This work provides a promising lead for the development of practical catalysts for sustainable fuel synthesis.  相似文献

This research applies semiconductor photocatalysts, which are formed by metal ion exchange on the surface of kaolinite catalyst with cations, to the study of photocatalytic degradation of 4‐chlorophenol. The analysis results of catalyst properties shows that, after sintering at 400 °C, kaolinite catalyst has a particle size of between 10–100 nm indicating the nano level of synthesized catalysts. Under the same condition, kaolinite‐Ag/Zn catalyst works better in degradation efficiency than single kaolinite‐Ag and kaolinite‐Zn catalysts. Kaolinite‐Zn catalyst declines in degradation efficacy after 150 minutes and performs poorer than the other three types of kaolinite catalysts. In the experiments of different amounts of catalysts, when the concentration exceeds 0.1 wt%, utilization of light energy and degradation efficiency will be reduced due to shielding effect. When at different pH values, the higher the pH value, the more OH‐will be released and that is beneficial for reaction with substances and the increase of reaction rate. Finally multivariate analysis proves that there is one determining factor that influences the photocatalytic degradation of 4‐chlorophenol in kaolinite catalysts, named as “the factor with intermediates competition degree,” the one affecting the 4‐CP degradation at different weight percentages that is referred to as the “shielding effect factor.”  相似文献

Herein, we report a facile and “green” synthetic route for the preparation of Ge@C core–shell nanocomposites by using a low‐cost Ge precursor. Field‐emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses confirmed the core–shell nanoarchitecture of the Ge@C nanocomposites, with particle sizes ranging from 60 to 100 nm. Individual Ge nanocrystals were coated by a continuous carbon layer, which had an average thickness of 2 nm. When applied as an anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries, the Ge@C nanocomposites exhibited a high initial discharge capacity of 1670 mAh g?1 and superior rate capability. In particular, Ge@C nanocomposite electrodes maintained a reversible capacity of 734 mAh g?1 after repeated cycling at a current density of 800 mA g?1 over 100 cycles.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and gradient stimuli‐responsive properties of cyclodextrin‐overhanging hyperbranched core‐double‐shell miktoarm architectures. A ionic hyperbranched poly(β‐cyclodextrin) (β‐CD) core was firstly synthesized via a convenient “A2+B3” approach. Double‐layered shell architectures, composed of poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAm) and poly(N,N‐dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) miktoarms as the outermost shell linked to poly(N,N‐diethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDEAEMA) homoarms which form the inner shell, were obtained by a sequential atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and parallel click chemistry from the modified hyperbranched poly(β‐CD) macroinitiator. The combined characterization by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 1H‐29Si heteronuclear multiple‐bond correlation (HMBC), FTIR and size exclusion chromatography/multiangle laser light scattering (SEC/MALLS) confirms the remarkable hyperbranched poly(β‐CD) core and double‐shell miktoarm architectures. The gradient triple‐stimuli‐responsive properties of hyperbranched core‐double‐shell miktoarm architectures and the corresponding mechanisms were investigated by UV–vis spectrophotometer and dynamic light scattering (DLS). Results show that this polymer possesses three‐stage phase transition behaviors. The first‐stage phase transition comes from the deprotonation of PDEAEMA segments at pH 9–10 aqueous solution under room temperature. The confined coil‐globule conformation transition of PNIPAm and PDMAEMA arms gives rise to the second‐stage hysteretic cophase transition between 38 and 44 °C at pH 10. The third‐stage phase transition occurs above 44 °C at pH = 10 attributed to the confined secondary conformation transition of partial PDMAEMA segments. This cyclodextrin‐overhanging hyperbranched core‐double‐shell miktoarm architectures are expected to solve the problems of inadequate functionalities from core layer and lacking multiresponsiveness for shell layers existing in the dendritic core‐multishell architectures. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Nature applies enzymatic assembly lines to synthesize bioactive compounds. Inspired by such capabilities, we have developed a facile method for spatially segregating attached enzymes in a continuous‐flow, vortex fluidic device (VFD). Fused Hisn‐tags at the protein termini allow rapid bioconjugation and consequent purification through complexation with immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) resin. Six proteins were purified from complex cell lysates to average homogeneities of 76 %. The most challenging to purify, tobacco epi‐aristolochene synthase, was purified in only ten minutes from cell lysate to near homogeneity (>90 %). Furthermore, this “reaction‐ready” system demonstrated excellent stability during five days of continuous‐flow processing. Towards multi‐step transformations in continuous flow, proteins were arrayed as ordered zones on the reactor surface allowing segregation of catalysts. Ordering enzymes into zones opens up new opportunities for continuous‐flow biosynthesis.  相似文献

Poly(methyl methacrylate)–poly(acrylonitrile‐co‐butadiene) (PMMA–NBR) core–shell structured nanoparticles were prepared using a two‐stage semibatch microemulsion polymerization system with PMMA and NBR as the core and shell, respectively. The Gemini surfactant 12‐3‐12 was used as the emulsifier and found to impose a pronounced influence on the formation of core–shell nanoparticles. The spherical morphology of core–shell nanoparticles was observed. It was found that there exists an optimal MMA addition amount, which can result in the minimized size of PMMA–NBR core–shell nanoparticles. The formation mechanism of the core–shell structure and the interaction between the core and shell domains was illustrated. The PMMA–NBR nanosize latex can be used as the substrate for the following direct latex hydrogenation catalyzed by Wilkinson's catalyst to prepare the PMMA–HNBR (hydrogenated NBR) core–shell nanoparticles. The hydrogenation rate is rapid. In the absence of any organic solvent, the PMMA–HNBR nanoparticles with a size of 30.6 nm were obtained within 3 h using 0.9 wt % Wilkinson's catalyst at 130 °C under 1000 psi of H2. This study provides a new perspective in the chemical modification of NBR and shows promise in the realization of a “green” process for the commercial hydrogenation of unsaturated elastomers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Over the last few years, one of the most important and complex problems facing our society is treating infectious diseases caused by multidrug‐resistant bacteria (MDRB), by using current market‐existing antibiotics. Driven by this need, we report for the first time the development of the multifunctional popcorn‐shaped iron magnetic core–gold plasmonic shell nanotechnology‐driven approach for targeted magnetic separation and enrichment, label‐free surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) detection, and the selective photothermal destruction of MDR Salmonella DT104. Due to the presence of the “lightning‐rod effect”, the core–shell popcorn‐shaped gold‐nanoparticle tips provided a huge field of SERS enhancement. The experimental data show that the M3038 antibody‐conjugated nanoparticles can be used for targeted separation and SERS imaging of MDR Salmonella DT104. A targeted photothermal‐lysis experiment, by using 670 nm light at 1.5 W cm?2 for 10 min, results in selective and irreparable cellular‐damage to MDR Salmonella. We discuss the possible mechanism and operating principle for the targeted separation, label‐free SERS imaging, and photothermal destruction of MDRB by using the popcorn‐shaped magnetic/plasmonic nanotechnology.  相似文献

We report the straightforward, time‐efficient synthesis of radical core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) by polymerization‐induced self‐assembly. A nitroxide‐containing hydrophilic macromolecular precursor was prepared by ring‐opening metathesis copolymerization of norbornenyl derivatives of TEMPO and oligoethylene glycol and was chain‐extended in situ with norbornene in ethanolic solution, leading to simultaneous amphiphilic block copolymer formation and self‐assembly. Without any intermediate purification from the monomers to the block copolymers, radical NPs with tunable diameters ranging from 10 to 110 nm are obtained within minutes at room temperature. The high activity of the radical NPs as chemoselective and homogeneous, yet readily recyclable catalysts is demonstrated through oxidation of a variety of alcohols and recovery by simple centrifugation. Furthermore, the NPs show biocompatibility and antioxidant activity in vitro.  相似文献

Tetranuclear, intensely blue‐coloured CuI complexes were synthesised in which two Cu2X3? units (X=Br or I) are bridged by a dicationic GFA (guanidino‐functionalised aromatic) ligand. The UV/Vis spectra show a large metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) band around 638 nm. The tetranuclear “low‐temperature” complexes are in a temperature‐dependent equilibrium with dinuclear CuI “high‐temperature” complexes, which result from the reversible elimination of two CuX groups. A massive thermochromism effect results from the extinction of the strong MLCT band upon CuX elimination with increasing temperature. For all complexes, quantum chemical calculations predict a small and method‐dependent energy difference between the possible electronic structures, namely CuI and dicationic GFA ligand (closed‐shell singlet) versus CuII and neutral GFA ligand (triplet or broken‐symmetry state). The closed‐shell singlet state is disfavoured by hybrid‐DFT functionals, which mix in exact Hartree–Fock exchange, and is favoured by larger basis sets and consideration of a polar medium.  相似文献

A novel photodynamic therapy nanoplatform based on mesoporous‐silica‐coated upconverting nanoparticles (UCNP) with electrostatic‐driven ultrafast photosensitizer (PS) loading and 808 nm near infrared (NIR)‐light‐triggering capabilities has been fabricated. By positively charging inner channels of the mesoporous silica shell with amino groups, a quantitative dosage of negatively charged PS, exemplified with Rose Bengal (RB) molecules, can be loaded in 2 min. In addition, the electrostatic‐driven technique simultaneously provides the platform with both excellent PS dispersity and leak‐proof properties due to the repulsion between the same‐charged molecules and the electrostatic attraction between different‐charged PS and silica channel walls, respectively. The as‐coated silica shell with an ultrathin thickness of 12±2 nm is delicately fabricated to facilitate ultrafast PS loading and efficient energy transfer from UCNP to PS. The outside surface of the silica shell is capped with hydrophilic β‐cyclodextrin, which not only enhances the dispersion of resulting nanoparticles in water but also plays a role of “gatekeeper”, blocking the pore opening and preventing PS leaking. The in vitro cellular lethality experiment demonstrates that RB molecules can be activated to effectively generate singlet oxygen and kill cancer cells upon 808 nm NIR light irradiation.  相似文献

Improving the electrocatalytic activity and durability of Pt‐based catalysts with low Pt content toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is one of the main challenges in advancing the performance of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Herein, a designed synthesis of well‐defined Pd@Pt core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) with a controlled Pt shell thickness of 0.4–1.2 nm by a facile wet chemical method and their electrocatalytic performances for ORR as a function of shell thickness are reported. Pd@Pt NPs with predetermined structural parameters were prepared by in situ heteroepitaxial growth of Pt on as‐synthesized 6 nm Pd NPs without any sacrificial layers and intermediate workup processes, and thus the synthetic procedure for the production of Pd@Pt NPs with well‐defined sizes and shell thicknesses is greatly simplified. The Pt shell thickness could be precisely controlled by adjusting the molar ratio of Pt to Pd. The ORR performance of the Pd@Pt NPs strongly depended on the thickness of their Pt shells. The Pd@Pt NPs with 0.94 nm Pt shells exhibited enhanced specific activity and higher durability compared to other Pd@Pt NPs and commercial Pt/C catalysts. Testing Pd@Pt NPs with 0.94 nm Pt shells in a membrane electrode assembly revealed a single‐cell performance comparable with that of the Pt/C catalyst despite their lower Pt content, that is the present NP catalysts can facilitate low‐cost and high‐efficient applications of PEMFCs.  相似文献
