In this study, the steroid hormone levels in river and tap water samples were determined by using a novel dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method based on the solidification of a floating organic drop (DLLME-SFO). Several parameters were optimized, including the type and volume of the extraction and dispersive solvents, extraction time, and salt effect. DLLME-SFO is a fast, cheap, and easy-to-use method for detecting trace levels of samples. Most importantly, this method uses less-toxic solvent. The correlation coefficient of the calibration curve was higher than 0.9991. The linear range was from 5 to 1000 μg L−1. The spiked environmental water samples were analyzed using DLLME-SFO. The relative recoveries ranged from 87% to 116% for river water (which was spiked with 4 μg L−1 for E1, 3 μg L−1 for E2, 4 μg L−1 for EE2 and 9 μg L−1 for E3) and 89% to 102% for tap water (which was spiked with 6 μg L−1 for E1, 5 μg L−1 for E2, 6 μg L−1 for EE2 and 10 μg L−1 for E3). The detection limits of the method ranged from 0.8 to 2.7 μg L−1 for spiked river water and 1.4 to 3.1 μg L−1 for spiked tap water. The methods precision ranged from 8% to 14% for spiked river water and 7% to 14% for spiked tap water.  相似文献

The present work reports the development of a methodology for the direct determination of lead in high saline waters derived from petroleum exploration employing electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry with permanent Ir-W and HF as modifiers. These waters, so-called produced waters, have complex composition containing several types of organic and inorganic substances. In order to attain best conditions (highest analytical signal besides lowest background) for the methodology studies about the effect of several variables and the convenient calibration strategy were performed. Also, the efficiency of other modification approaches was evaluated. At best conditions, pyrolysis and atomization temperature were 800 and 2200 °C, respectively, when the modifiers cited above were utilized. Obtained results indicate that, in this kind of sample, lead can be determined by standard addition method or employing external calibration with standard solutions prepared in 0.8 mol l−1 NaCl medium. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the procedure, a recovery test was performed with six spiked samples of produced waters. The detection limit, quantification limit and the relative standard deviation in 0.8 mol l−1 NaCl were also calculated and the values are 1.5 μg l−1, 5.0 μg l−1 and 5.0% (at 10 μg l−1 level), respectively.  相似文献

A robust flow injection (FI) on-line liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) preconcentration/separation system associated with a newly designed gravitational phase separator, coupled to flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was developed. The performance of the system was illustrated for cadmium determination at the μg l−1 level. The non-charged cadmium complex with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) was extracted on-line into isobutyl methyl ketone (IBMK). The organic phase was effectively separated from a large volume of aqueous phase and is led into a 100 μl loop of an injection valve before its introduction into the nebulizer. The system was optimized and offered good performance characteristics with unlimited life time of phase separator, greater flow rate ratios and improved flexibility, as compared with other solvent extraction preconcentration systems. With a sampling frequency of 33 h−1, the enhancement factor was 155, the detection limit was 0.02 μg l−1, the relative standard deviation was 3.2% at 2.0 μg l−1 Cd concentration level and the calibration curve was linear over the concentration range 0.06-6.0 μg l−1. The accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by analyzing a certified reference material of water and by recovery measurements on spiked samples. Finally, it was successfully applied to the analysis of tapwater, river and seawater samples.  相似文献

In this study, a simple, rapid and efficient method, dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) combined gas chromatography-electron capture detection (GC-ECD), for the determination of chlorobenzenes (CBs) in water samples, has been described. This method involves the use of an appropriate mixture of extraction solvent (9.5 μl chlorobenzene) and disperser solvent (0.50 ml acetone) for the formation of cloudy solution in 5.00 ml aqueous sample containing analytes. After extraction, phase separation was performed by centrifugation and the enriched analytes in sedimented phase were determined by gas chromatography-electron capture detection (GC-ECD). Our simple conditions were conducted at room temperature with no stiring and no salt addition in order to minimize sample preparation steps. Parameters such as the kind and volume of extraction solvent, the kind and volume of disperser solvent, extraction time and salt effect, were studied and optimized. The method exhibited enrichment factors and recoveries ranging from 711 to 813 and 71.1 to 81.3%, respectively, within very short extraction time. The linearity of the method ranged from 0.05 to 100 μg l−1 for dichlorobenzene isomers (DCB), 0.002-20 μg l−1 for trichlorobenzene (TCB) and tetrachlorobenzene (TeCB) isomers and from 0.001 to 4 μg l−1 for pentachlorobenzene (PeCB) and hexachlorobenzene (HCB). The limit of detection was in the low μg l−1 level, ranging between 0.0005 and 0.05 μg l−1. The relative standard deviations (R.S.D.s) for the concentration of DCB isomers, 5.00 μg l−1, TCB and TeCB isomers, 0.500 μg l−1, PeCB and HCB 0.100 μg l−1 in water by using the internal standard were in the range of 0.52-2.8% (n = 5) and without the internal standard were in the range of 4.6-6.0% (n = 5). The relative recoveries of spiked CBs at different levels of chlorobenzene isomers in tap, well and river water samples were 109-121%, 105-113% and 87-120%, respectively. It is concluded that this method can be successfully applied for the determination of CBs in tap, river and well water samples.  相似文献

The present work reports the development of a methodology for the direct determination of vanadium in high saline waters derived from offshore petroleum exploration employing electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Such waters, usually called produced waters, present complex composition containing various organic and inorganic substances. In order to attain best conditions (highest sensitivity besides lowest background) for the methodology, studies about the effects of several variables (evaluation of pyrolysis and atomization temperatures, type of chemical modifier, concentration of modifier and pyrolysis time) and the convenient calibration strategy were performed. Best conditions were reached with the addition of 10 μg of NH4H2PO4 as chemical modifier employing pyrolysis (during 10 s) and atomization temperatures of 1500 and 2700 °C, respectively. Obtained results indicated that, in this kind of sample, vanadium can be determined by standard addition method or employing an external calibration approach with standard solutions prepared in 0.8 mol l−1 NaCl medium. In order to evaluate possible matrix interferences, a recovery test was performed with five spiked samples of produced waters. The limit of detection, limit of quantification and relative standard deviation in 0.8 mol l−1 NaCl medium were also calculated and the derived values were 1.9 μg l−1, 6.3 μg l−1 and 5.6% (at 10 μg l−1 level), respectively.  相似文献

The use of a permeation liquid membrane system for the preconcentration and separation of nickel in natural and sea waters and subsequent determination by atomic absorption spectroscopy is presented. 2-Hydroxybenzaldehyde N-ethylthiosemi-carbazone (2-HBET) in toluene is used as the active component of the liquid membrane. A study strategy based on a simplex design has been followed. Several chemical and physical parameters were optimized. Maximum permeation coefficient was obtained at a feed solution pH of 9.4, 0.3 mol l−1 of HNO3 in the stripping solution and 1.66 mmol l−1 of 2-HBTE in toluene as carrier. The precision of the method was 4.7% at 95% significance level and a detection limit of 0.012 μg l−1 of nickel was achieved. The preconcentration procedure showed a linear response within the studied concentration range from 3 to 500 μg l−1 of Ni in the feed solution. The method was validated with different spiked synthetic seawater and certified reference water samples: TMDA-62 and LGC 6016, without matrix interferences and showing good concordance with the certified values, being the relative errors −5.9% and −2.2%, respectively. Under optimal conditions, the average preconcentration yield for real seawater samples was 98 ± 5%, with a nickel preconcentration factor of 20.83 and metal concentrations ranging between 2.8 and 5.4 μg l−1.  相似文献

Conventional immunoassays on microtiterplates are very useful analytical tools in environmental analysis, but the long assay times, usually in the range of hours, are a drawback. To overcome this disadvantage, the development of fast (express) assay formats is described, which use polyelectrolytes as carriers. Two semi-homogeneous immunochemical methods, namely the polyelectrolyte-ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) and the express-FIIAA (flow injection immunoaffinity analysis) for the analysis of the herbicide atrazine were set-up. Using polyclonal antisera for atrazine, the following results were obtained. Standard curves for atrazine showed a linear range from 3 to 100 μg l−1 in polyelectrolyte-ELISA and 0.3-100 μg l−1 in express-FIIAA. The test midpoints in polyelectrolyte-ELISA and express-FIIAA were 12 and 5 μg l−1, respectively. The duration time of the immunochemical reaction was in both assays 15 min, but the total assay time differed (30 min (polyelectrolyte-ELISA) and 18 min (express-FIIAA)). A significant difference between the formats could be observed in the number of samples that can be determined per day. The polyelectrolyte-ELISA can handle samples in parallel on a microtiterplate (usually 20/plate), whereas in the express-FIIAA the samples are automatically analysed one after another. This first demonstration of these techniques shows the potential of these methods, but also their limitations.  相似文献

An automated and versatile sequential injection spectrofluorimetric procedure for the simultaneous determination of multicomponent mixtures in micellar medium without prior separation processes is reported. The methodology is based upon the segmentation of a sample slug between two different buffer zones in order to attain both an improvement of sensitivity and residual minimization for the whole species. Resolution of overlapping fluorescence profiles is achieved using a variable angle scanning technique coupled to multivariate least-squares regression (MLR) algorithms at both sample edges. The potentialities of the described methodology are illustrated with the spectrofluorimetric determination of four widespread pesticides with different acid-base properties; viz. carbaryl (CBL) (1-naphthyl-N-methylcarbamate), fuberidazole (FBZ) (2-(2′-furyl)benzimidazole), thiabendazole (TBZ) (2-(4′-thiazolyl)benzimidazole) and warfarin (W) (3-α-acetonylbenzyl)-4-hydroxycoumarin). Detection limits at the 3σ level were 3.9, 0.02, 0.03 and 10 μg l−1 for CBL, FBZ, TBZ and W, respectively at the maximum sensitivity pH. Dynamic ranges of 13-720 μg l−1 CBL, 0.10-14 μg l−1 FBZ, 0.19-60 μg l−1 TBZ and 0.05-5 mg l−1 W were achieved. Relative standard deviations (n=10) were 0.2% for 100 μg l−1 CBL and 2.4 μg l−1 FBZ, 0.7% for 8 μg l−1 TBZ and 1.0% for 1 mg l−1 W. The proposed automated methodology, which handles 17 samples/h, was validated and applied to spiked real water samples with very satisfactory results.  相似文献

Microcolumns containing 8-hydroxyquinoline azo-immobilized on controlled pore glass were incorporated in a field sampler for on-site collection, isolation and preconcentration of trace metal ions in waters of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Sequestered trace metal ions were recovered by elution with 0.5 ml of 1.5 M nitric acid, and determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). This sampling and enrichment method minimizes sample contamination, and collection of large volumes of water samples for transporting, over long distances, to analytical laboratories is avoided.Data reported comprise one of the initial surveys on trace metal ion concentrations in waters of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. In waters with more efficient mixing, dissolved metal ion concentrations found were generally low with slightly elevated levels of manganese (7-19 μg l−1), zinc (2.7-4.8 μg l−1), nickel (0.2-2.5 μg l−1) and copper (0.3-2.1 μg l−1). For each trace metal ion, concentration levels seem to reflect zones of varying water conveyance, and show no obvious temporal and spatial variations apart from a slight increment from the inlet in the upper Delta to the outlets in the lower Delta.  相似文献

The cyclic voltammetric behavior of five common pesticides such as dicofol (DCF), cypermethrin (CYP), monocrotophos (MCP), chlorpyrifos (CPF) and phosalone (PAS) was investigated at a poly 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene modified glassy carbon electrode (PEDOT/GCE). A method was developed for the detection and determination of these pesticides in trace level flowing stream, based on their redox behavior. The square wave stripping voltammetric principle was used to analyze the selected pesticides on PEDOT/GCE. Varying the accumulation potential and accumulation time, the best accumulation conditions were found out. Effects of initial scan potential, square wave pulse amplitude, step potential and frequency were examined for the optimization of stripping conditions. The peak current responses of analyte under optimum conditions were correlated over flow rate by using wall-jet PEDOT/GCE assembly. The calibration plots were linear over the pesticide's concentration range 0.10-72.60 μg l−1 for DCF, 0.41-198.24 μg l−1 for CYP, 0.22-220.95 μg l−1 for MCP, 0.35-259.69 μg l−1 for CPF and 1.07-141.46 μg l−1 for PAS. The limit of detection was obtained between <0.09 and <1.0 μg l−1 for five pesticides. It is low enough for trace pesticide determination in real samples. This method is applied for the determination of the five pesticides in soil samples. The recovery values obtained in spiked soil samples are 95.4 ± 5.4% for DCF, 93.7 ± 4.2% for CYP, 85.3 ± 8.4% for MCP, 94.6 ± 6.6% for CPF and 93.5 ± 4.9% for PAS.  相似文献

A rapid and sensitive method for the on-line separation and pre-concentration of inorganic arsenic in water samples is described. The analyte in the pentavalent oxidation state is reduced to its trivalent form with l-cysteine and the total inorganic arsenic is sorbed onto activated alumina in the acid form in a mini-column coupled to a FI-HG AAS system. Afterwards, it is eluted with 3 mol l−1 HCl. An enrichment factor of 7 was obtained, allowing an analytical flow rate of about 28 determinations per hour. The limits of detection (3σ) and of quantification (10σ) were calculated as LOD = 0.15 μg l−1 of As and LOQ = 0.5 μg l−1 of As, respectively. Relative standard deviations (n = 10) less than 8% were obtained for different arsenic concentrations and the accuracy was verified by analysing certified reference materials. Different kinds of samples, such as mineral water, drinking water, river water and natural spring water were analyzed and good agreement was obtained with the values from spiked experiments.  相似文献

The pyrethroid lambda-cyhalothrin is a common insecticide which is widespread in the environment. A study of the electrochemical reduction of the pesticide on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) was performed as basis for the development of a sensitive analytical method for determination of lambda-cyhalothrin in natural samples. Two electrochemical techniques—cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV)—were applied. The study was performed in the pH range 2-13 using Britton-Robinson (B-R) buffer to control the pH of the measuring solutions and tetrabutylammonium chloride (TBAC) salt as supporting electrolyte. In DPV, a single reduction peak was observed at both pH<4.0 and pH>10.5 while two cathodic peaks were produced in the pH range 4.0-10.5. The results showed that the reduction of lambda-cyhalothrin in the measuring solution is irreversible. The limiting current was found to be diffusion-controlled and free of adsorption of the electroactive species to HMDE over the whole pH range tested. For the analytical DPV method running at pH 2 the relationship between peak current and lambda-cyhalothrin concentration was linear up to 500 μg l−1 (1.1×10−6 mol l−1) with a detection limit of 2.5 μg l−1. The repeatability in terms of relative standard deviation (n=10) was in the order of 3.5% at concentration levels of 5 and 10 μg l−1. A DPV method for determining lambda-cyhalothrin in the agrochemical formulation Karate, spiked soil and well water was developed. The recovery was about 94% in well water and 92% in soil samples at concentration range of 0.05-0.5 μg l−1 and 0.05-0.5 μg g−1, respectively.  相似文献

A flow-batch system was developed for the determination of Fe(III) in estuarine waters with high variability in salinity. The method is based on the catalytic effect of iron(III) on the oxidation rate of N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediammonium dichloride (DmPD) by hydrogen peroxide and the formed product is spectrophotometrically monitored at 554 nm. A controlled addition of sodium chloride to every assayed sample is accomplished for in-line individual salinity matching. The proposed system processes about 30 samples h−1 and yields reproducible results. Relative standard deviations were estimated as <1.5% after 10 injections of typical samples (10.0-50.0 μg l−1 Fe; ca. 0.5 mol l−1 Cl). Synthetic samples (15.0 μg l−1 Fe; 0.25-1.0 mol l−1 NaCl) were efficiently processed, and no significant differences in results were found at a probability level of 99.7%. The method works for the full range of salinities. Only 120 μg DmPD are consumed per determination. The analytical curve is linear up to about 60 μg l−1 Fe (r>0.999; n=5) and the detection limit is 5 μg l−1 Fe. Results are in agreement with graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.  相似文献

A selective matrix removal/separation/enrichment method, utilizing a microcolumn of a chelating resin with SH functional groups (Duolite GT-73), was proposed for the determination of Sb(III) in waters by segmented flow injection-hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (SFI-HGAAS). The resin was selective to Sb(III) at almost all pH and acidity values employed, whereas Sb(V) was not retained at all and could be determined after a pre-reduction step with l-cysteine. Spike recoveries were tested at various concentration levels in different water types and were found to vary between 85 and 118%. Accuracy of the proposed methodology was checked by analyzing a standard reference material and a good correlation was found between the determined (13.3 ± 1.1 μg l−1) and the certified value (13.79 ± 0.42 μg l−1). The method was applied to several bottled drinking water samples for antimony determination with and without preconcentration and none of the samples were found to contain antimony above the permissible level (5 μg l−1). The characteristic concentration (the concentration of the analyte corresponding to an absorbance of 0.0044) was 0.55 μg l−1 and the 3 s limit of detection (LOD) based on five times preconcentration was 0.06 μg l−1. The applicability of the microcolumn separation/preconcentration/matrix removal method for flow injection systems was also demonstrated.  相似文献

Anilinemethyltriethoxysilane (AMTEOS) was first used as precursor as well as selective stationary phase to prepare the sol-gel derived anilinemethyltriethoxysilane/polydimethylsiloxane (AMTEOS/PDMS) solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fibers. The novel SPME fiber exhibits high extraction efficiency, good thermal stability and long lifetime compared with commercial SPME coatings. In addition, the phenyl groups in the porous layer can exhibit π-π interactions with aromatic compounds, such as monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (MAHs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Therefore, SPME using the AMTEOS/PDMS sol-gel fiber coupled with GC-FID was recommended as a sensitive and selective method towards the analysis of these compounds in environmental water samples. The optimal extraction conditions were investigated by adjusting extraction time, salt addition, extraction temperature, and desorption time. The method showed linearity between 2 and 4000 μg l−1 for MAHs and 1 and 1000 μg l−1 for PAHs. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.6-3.8 μg l−1for MAHs and 0.2-1.5 μg l−1 for PAHs. The novel AMTEOS/PDMS fiber was applied to extract small amount of aromatic compounds in wastewater and river water respectively. The recovery of the method was acceptable for quantitative analysis.  相似文献

This work describes the electroanalytical determination of pendimethalin herbicide levels in natural waters, river sediment and baby food samples, based on the electro-reduction of herbicide on the hanging mercury drop electrode using square wave voltammetry (SWV). A number of experimental and voltammetric conditions were evaluated and the best responses were achieved in Britton-Robinson buffer solutions at pH 8.0, using a frequency of 500 s− 1, a scan increment of 10 mV and a square wave amplitude of 50 mV. Under these conditions, the pendimethalin is reduced in an irreversible process, with two reduction peaks at − 0.60 V and − 0.71 V, using a Ag/AgCl reference system. Analytical curves were constructed and the detection limit values were calculated to be 7.79 μg L− 1 and 4.88 μg L− 1, for peak 1 and peak 2, respectively. The precision and accuracy were determinate as a function of experimental repeatability and reproducibility, which showed standard relative deviation values that were lower than 2% for both voltammetric peaks. The applicability of the proposed methodology was evaluated in natural water, river sediments and baby food samples. The calculated recovery efficiencies demonstrate that the proposed methodology is suitable for determining any contamination by pendimethalin in these samples. Additionally, adsorption isotherms were used to evaluate information about the behavior of pendimethalin in river sediment samples.  相似文献

In the present work, a novel method for the determination of trihalomethanes (THMs) such as chloroform, dichlorobromomethane, chlorodibromomethane and bromoform in drinking water has been described. It is based on coupling headspace liquid-phase microextraction (HS-LPME) with gas chromatography-electron capture detector (GC-ECD). A microdrop of organic solvent at the tip of a commercial microsyringe was used to extract analytes from aqueous samples. Three organic solvents—xylene, ethylene glycol and 1-octanol—were compared and 1-octanol was the most sensitive solvent for the analytes. Extraction conditions such as headspace volume, extraction time, stirring rate, content of NaCl and extraction temperature were found to have significant influence on extraction efficiency. The optimized conditions were 15 ml headspace volume in a 40 ml vial, 10 min extraction time and 800 rpm stirring rate at 20 °C with 0.3 g ml−1 NaCl. The linear range was 1-100 μg l−1 for THMs. The limits of detection (LODs) ranged from 0.15 μg l−1 (for dichlorobromomethane and chlorodibromomethane) to 0.4 μg l−1 (for chloroform); and relative standard deviations (RSD) for most of THMs at the 10 μg l−1 level were below 10%. Real samples collected from tap water and well water were successfully analyzed using the proposed method. The recovery of spiked water samples was from 101 to 112%.  相似文献

There is a need for simple and inexpensive methods to quantify potentially harmful persistent pesticides often found in our water-ways and water distribution systems. This paper presents a simple, relatively inexpensive method for the detection of a group of commonly used pesticides (atrazine, simazine and hexazinone) in natural waters using large-volume direct injection high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) utilizing a monolithic column and a single wavelength ultraviolet-visible light (UV-vis) detector. The best results for this system were obtained with a mobile phase made up of acetonitrile and water in a 30:70 ratio, a flow rate of 2.0 mL min−1, and a detector wavelength of 230 nm. Using this method, we achieved retention times of less than three minutes, and detection limits of 5.7 μg L−1 for atrazine, 4.7 μg L−1 for simazine and 4.0 μg L−1 for hexazinone. The performance of this method was validated with an inter-laboratory trial against a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method commonly used in commercial laboratories.  相似文献

In situ mercury film electrode produced in the presence of thiocyanate has been shown extremely useful for highly sensitive adsorptive stripping voltammetric measurements of atrazine down to sub-μg L−1 level. Operational parameters have been optimized and the stripping voltammetric performance has been investigated using square wave scans. The adsorptive stripping response is linear over the range of 0.5-60 μg L−1 atrazine, with a detection limit of 0.024 μg L−1. The method has been applied to the determination of atrazine in soil and water samples.  相似文献

In this paper, an automatic method for the screening of water samples containing Cu(II) was proposed, based on peryoxalate chemiluminescence reaction using coproporphyrin I as fluorophor compound to provide selectivity and a simple flow injection (FI) chemiluminescence detector (CLD). FI system conditions were chosen in order to distinguish samples over or under legislation limit established (50 μg l−1) with high reliability. The detection limit found was 9 μg l−1 and the linear dynamic range was 15-125 μg l−1 of Cu(II). Repeatibility and reproducibility studies gave good precision and accuracy with recovery near 100%. Under these conditions, the method resulted selective and only Fe(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) could interfere, but at a concentration level higher than their normal concentration in waters. The proposed method was found to be highly reliable for screening purposes and it was successfully applied to the screening of a variety of real water samples.  相似文献
