The preparation of nanosized, molecularly imprinted polymer particles by nonaqueous emulsion polymerization is presented. Monodisperse cross‐linked polymer nanospheres with a diameter of around 100 nm were synthesized using a standard monomer mixture of methacrylic acid and ethylene dimethacrylate, containing (±)‐propranolol as a template. The rebinding efficiency of the resulting particles was determined by batch rebinding tests and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). The results indicate that the proposed imprinting process under nonaqueous conditions lead to particles with an enhanced capacity of template rebinding compared to both nonimprinted ones and to particles obtained by more conventional emulsion polymerization in water.

In this study, a novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based on methacrylic acid (MAA) monomer was synthesized to control release of trinitroglycerin (TNG) as a vasodilator drug for adjusting the cardiac conditions. For this purpose, TNG nanospheres based on poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) were prepared by using the precipitation polymerization process. The synthesized TNG nanospheres‐based MIP samples were characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and field‐emission scanning electron microscopy in order to investigate their provided active functional groups within the cavities as well as morphology, respectively. The results showed that the appropriate non‐covalent bindings between the TNG (template) and PMAA provided within the MIP samples with imprinting factor of 1.98 were achieved by optimizing the amounts of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) as a cross‐linker and MAA as a functional monomer. On the basis of these obtained conditions, the polymeric nanospheres containing TNG were formed in shape of spherical particles with an average diameter sizing about 40 nm. These remarkable results were obtained by the use of 1:10 molar ratio of TRIM/TNG and 1:6 molar ratio of MAA/TNG. Moreover, in‐vitro release of the TNG from the MIP samples to phosphate buffer solution (pH = 7.4) indicated that the MIP samples had a moderate and gradual release compared with the non‐imprinted polymer samples. These outcomes conducted us to consider the samples as carriers for adjusting potentially cardiac conditions. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

One‐monomer molecularly imprinted magnetic nanoparticles were prepared as adsorbents for selective extraction of bisphenol A from water in this study. A single bi‐functional monomer was adopted for preparation of the molecularly imprinted polymer, avoiding the tedious trial‐and‐error optimizations as traditional strategy. Moreover, bisphenol F was used as the dummy template for bisphenol A to avoid the interference from residual template molecules. These nanoparticles showed not only large adsorption capacity and good selectivity to the bisphenol A but also outstanding magnetic response performance. Furthermore, they were successfully used as magnetic solid‐phase extraction adsorbents of bisphenol A from various water samples, including tap water, river water, and seawater. The developed method was found to be much more efficient, convenient, and economical for selective extraction of bisphenol A compared with the traditional solid‐phase extraction. Separation of these nanoparticles can be easily achieved with an external magnetic field, and the optimized adsorption time was only 15 min. The recoveries of bisphenol A in different water samples ranged from 85.38 to 93.75%, with relative standard deviation lower than 7.47%. These results showed that one‐monomer molecularly imprinted magnetic nanoparticles had the potential to be popular adsorbents for selective extraction of pollutants from water.  相似文献

We present a facile strategy to prepare the molecularly imprinted polymers layer on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles with core‐shell structure via sol–gel condensation for recognition and enrichment of triclosan. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles were first synthesized by a solvothermal method. Then, template triclosan was self‐assembled with the functional monomer 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane on the silica‐coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the presence of ethanol and water. Finally, the molecularly imprinted polymers were formed on the surface of silica‐coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles to obtain the product. The morphology, magnetic susceptibility, adsorption, and recognition property of magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers were characterized using transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffractometry, vibrating sample magnetometry, and re‐binding experiments. The magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers showed binding sites with good accessibility, fast adsorption rate, and high adsorption capacity (218.34 μg/g) to triclosan. The selectivity of magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers was evaluated by the rebinding capability of triclosan and two other structural analogues (phenol and p‐chlorophenol) in a mixed solution and good selectivity with an imprinting factor of 2.46 was obtained. The application of triclosan removal in environmental samples was demonstrated.  相似文献

Novel thermosensitive molecularly imprinted polymers were successfully prepared using the epitope imprinting approach in the presence of the mimic template phenylphosphonic acid, the functional monomer vinylphosphonic acid‐Ti4+, the temperature‐sensitive monomer N‐isopropylacrylamide and the crosslinker N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide. The ratio of the template/thermosensitive monomers/crosslinker was optimized, and when the ratio was 2:2:1, the prepared thermosensitive molecularly imprinted polymers had the highest imprinting factor. The synthetic thermosensitive molecularly imprinted polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy to reveal the combination and elution processes of the template. Then, the adsorption capacity and thermosensitivity was measured. When the temperature was 28°C, the imprinting factor was the highest. The selectivity and adsorption capacity of the thermosensitive molecularly imprinted polymers for phosphotyrosine peptides from a mixture of three tailor‐made peptides were measured by high‐performance liquid chromatography. The results showed that the thermosensitive molecularly imprinted polymers have good selectivity for phosphotyrosine peptides. Finally, the imprinted hydrogels were applied to specifically adsorb phosphotyrosine peptides from a sample mixture containing phosphotyrosine and a tryptic digest of β‐casein, which demonstrated high selectivity. After four rebinding cycles, 78.9% adsorption efficiency was still retained.  相似文献

An attempt has been made to design theophylline selective polymers with maximum selectivity and specificity, and to relate the rebinding capacity of the polymers with the degree of crosslinking, as well as with the template‐monomer ratio. The theophylline imprinted and non‐imprinted polymers based on methacrylic acid as the functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as crosslinking agent (35–80 mol%) were prepared. The developed imprinted polymers were characterized by FT‐IR, 1H and 13C‐NMR spectra. Equilibrium binding of theophylline by the imprinted and non‐imprinted polymers were investigated and optimized the conditions. Imprinted polymers showed specific binding of the template theophylline. Selectivity of the imprinted polymers was investigated towards caffeine and nicotine. Imprinted polymers showed specific and selective binding of theophylline, which varied with the degree of EGDMA crosslinking. Equilibrium rebinding experiments proved that imprinted polymer with moderate (70%) crosslinking with 1∶2 template‐functional monomer ratio is ideal with maximum specificity and selectivity.  相似文献

Functional polystyrene (PS) crosslinked microbeads were developed by dispersion polymerization as fluorescent molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) having cavities with specific recognition sites. The functional azobenzene molecule modified with pyridine was self‐assembled with Pyrenebutyric acid (template molecules), and introduced during the second stage of dispersion polymerization of polystyrene. The template molecule was removed from MIP by Soxhlet using acetonitrile as solvent. Non imprinted polymer (NIP) having no template was also synthesized for comparative study. Fluorescence spectroscopy could be used as a tool to derive insight into the location of the template molecules on the MIP or NIP. The template molecules were adsorbed on the surface of the NIPs during binding studies, which was evidenced from the pyrene excimeric emission observed at 440 nm. The template binding efficiency of the NIPs were much lower compared to MIPs. Pyrene emission from MIP upon rebinding showed typical monomeric emission in the 375–395 nm range, confirming its location in isolated cavities. In rebinding studies of the template molecules, the MIPs selectively took up the template for which the cavity was designed, which demonstrated their selectivity towards template molecules. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Multi‐template molecular imprinting technique was employed for the theoretical study about industrial oil denitrification. Prior to the preparation of multi‐template molecularly imprinted polymers (MT‐MIPs), density functional theory was used for simulating the imprinted pre‐assembly systems composed of template (aniline, indole, or 3‐methylinndole) and monomer [methacrylic acid, acrylamide (AM), and 4‐vinylpyridine]. MT‐MIPs were synthesized as surface MIPs simply and successively by seeded emulsion polymerization or two‐stage precipitation polymerization. The experimental results were consistent with the simulative results, which demonstrated that AM was more suitable monomer together. In addition, seeded emulsion polymerization synthesized MT‐MIPs with better performance compared with two‐stage precipitation polymerization. The adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm of MT‐MIP prepared with AM using seeded emulsion polymerization were fitted with different models. The fitting results indicated that pseudo‐second‐order kinetics model and Freundlich isotherm model were suitable for describing the adsorption process of AM seeded emulsion polymerization. This study will provide a certain guidance and theoretical basis for introducing the combination of multi‐template molecular imprinting technique and computational simulation into the field of industrial denitrification. Magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles for bisphenol A were prepared by coassembling magnetic nanoparticles and amphiphilic random copolymers. Under optimized conditions, bisphenol A as template molecules, magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer particles with regular morphology, small size, good monodispersity, and high content of OA‐Fe3O4 were prepared by the coassembly method using P(MMA‐co‐MAA) with monomer ratio of 9:1. These magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer particles could be rapidly collected by an external magnet within 1 min. The saturated adsorption capacity of the magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer for bisphenol A was 201.5 mg/g, and the imprinting factor was 2.5. The separation factors for bisphenol A to β‐estradiol, estriol, and diethylstilbestrol was 3.1, 2.9, and 3.7, respectively. Unlike assembling amphiphilic copolymer in the selective solvent, the coassembly process was simple and rapid. Therefore, the present work provided a facile and versatile approach to construct magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles under mild conditions.  相似文献

A water‐compatible molecularly imprinted polymer was prepared by Pickering emulsion polymerization using halloysite nanotubes as stabilized solid particles. During polymerization, we used 4‐vinylpyridine as monomer, divinylbenzene as cross‐linking agent, toluene as porogen, 2,2‐azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator, 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid as template to form the oil phase, and Triton X‐100 aqueous solution to form the water phase. The halloysite nanotubes molecularly imprinted polymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Kinetic and equilibrium bindings were also employed to evaluate the adsorption properties of the imprinted polymer. The imprinted polymer showed better selectivity, more rapid kinetic binding (60 min) for 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in pure water compared with rebinding in toluene. The imprinted polymer was used as a sorbent to enrich and separate 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid from water, and was detected by high‐performance liquid chromatography with UV detection.  相似文献

In this work, a novel magnetic nanomaterial functionalized with a molecularly imprinted polymer was prepared for the extraction of protoberberine alkaloids. Molecularly imprinted polymers were made on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles by using berberine as template, acetonitrile/water as porogen, acrylamide as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross‐linker. The optimized molar ratio of template/functional monomer was 1:7. The polymeric magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The stability and adsorption capacity of the molecularly imprinted polymers were investigated. The molecularly imprinted polymers were used as a selective sorbent for the magnetic molecularly imprinted solid‐phase extraction and determination of jatrorrhizine, palmatine, and berberine. Extraction parameters were studied including loading pH, sample volume, stirring speed, and extraction time. Finally, a magnetic molecularly imprinted solid‐phase extraction coupled to high‐performance liquid chromatography method was developed. Under the optimized conditions, the method showed good linear range of 0.1–150 ng/mL for berberine and 0.1–100 ng/mL for jatrorrhizine and palmatine. The limit of detection was 0.01 ng/mL for berberine and 0.02 ng/mL for jatrorrhizine and palmatine. The proposed method has been applied to determine protoberberine alkaloids in Cortex phellodendri and rat plasma samples. The recoveries ranged from 87.33–102.43%, with relative standard deviation less than 4.54% in Cortex phellodendri and from 102.22–111.15% with relative standard deviation less than 4.59% in plasma.  相似文献

A molecularly imprinted polymer was synthesized for the purpose of sinapic acid isolation from Egyptian nutraceutical Botrytis italica, L. (broccoli) due to its prominent medicinal and wide pharmacological activities. A computational study was first developed to determine the optimal template to functional monomer molar ratio. Based on the computational results, five polymers were synthesized using a bulk polymerization method with sinapic acid as the template molecule. Evaluation of the synthesized polymers binding performance was carried out using batch rebinding assay, which revealed that the molecularly imprinted polymer of molar ratio (1:4:20), template to functional monomer (4‐vinyl pyridine) to crosslinker (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) was of optimum performance, thus, this polymer was applied for sinapic acid isolation from closely related analogues. This represents a more practical approach to isolate sinapic acid from different natural extracts selectively.  相似文献

Surface molecular imprinting over functionalized nanoparticles has proved to be an effective approach for construction of artificial nanomaterials for protein recognition. Herein, we report a strategy for synthesis of core–shell protein‐imprinted nanoparticles by the functionalization of nano‐cores with ionic liquids followed by aqueous precipitation polymerization to build thermo‐responsive imprinted polymer nano‐shells. The immobilized ionic liquids can form multiple interactions with the protein template. The polymerization process can produce thermo‐reversible physical crosslinks, which are advantageous to enhancing imprinting and facilitating template removal. With bovine hemoglobin as a model template, the imprinted nanoparticles showed temperature‐sensitivity in both dispersion behaviors and rebinding capacities. Compared with the ionic‐liquid‐modified core nanoparticles, the imprinted particles exhibited greatly increased selectivity and two orders of magnitude higher binding affinity for the template protein. The imprinted nanoparticles achieved relatively high imprinting factor up to 5.0 and specific rebinding capacity of 67.7 mg/g, respectively. These nanoparticles also demonstrated rapid rebinding kinetics and good reproducibility after five cycles of adsorption–regeneration. Therefore, the presented approach may be viable for the fabrication of high‐performance protein‐imprinted nanoparticles with temperature sensitivity.  相似文献

A molecularly imprinted nanoshell on the surface of silica nanospheres was prepared for specific enrichment and identification of alkaloids from Crinum asiaticum L. var. sinicum . The nanoshell was synthesized by surface polymerization using lycorine as the template, acrylamide as the functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the cross‐linker, 2′,2‐azobisisobutyronitrile as the initiator and acetonitrile as the pore‐forming agent. The core–shell nanospheres were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy, and the results show that the nanoshell layer was homogeneously attached to the surface of vinyl‐modified SiO2 nanospheres. The adsorption capacity of the nanospheres was estimated by binding equilibrium and adsorption kinetics experiments. The maximum adsorption amount of lycorine on the nanospheres was 6.68 μmol/g and the imprinting factor was nearly 2.5, indicating a good imprinting effect. The nanospheres were successfully applied in solid‐phase extraction for lycorine from Crinum asaticum L. var. sinicum and detection of target molecule in rat metabolites. The average recoveries of lycorine in Crinum asaticum L. var. sinicum extraction and rat metabolites were 93.5 ± 0.6% (n = 3) and 91.6 ± 1.9% (n = 3), respectively. This work provides a simple approach for the fabrication of a molecularly imprinted nanoshell at the surface of silica nanospheres‐based solid‐phase extraction for drug analysis.  相似文献

Photoresponsive molecularly imprinted nanocavities were prepared using a newly designed functional monomer bearing a photoresponsive spiropyran moiety with a carboxy group that can interact with atrazine (the template molecule), in which the spiropyran moiety was incorporated into the binding cavities. Spectrophotometric analysis confirmed that the spiropyran moiety was photoresponsive even after polymerization. The selectivity of the EDMA‐based molecularly imprinted polymer (MIPEDMA) was tested to examine the binding behavior of atrazine and other agrochemicals, revealing that the atrazine‐imprinted polymer can bind selectively to triazine herbicides. Photo‐triggered switching of the binding activity in MIPEDMA was investigated, and the binding activity was found to decrease dramatically after UV light irradiation, suggesting that the spiropyran moiety in the binding cavities was transformed to the merocyanine form, resulting in unfavorable translocation of the carboxy group for atrazine binding. Consequently, the spiropyran‐based MIPEDMA demonstrated in this study could open a way to realizing reliable photoresponsive smart materials. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. In this study, dummy imprinting technology was employed for the preparation of l‐ phenylalanine‐imprinted microspheres. Ionic liquids were utilized as both a “dummy” template and functional monomer, and 4‐vinylpyridine and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate were used as the assistant monomer and cross‐linker, respectively, for preparing a surface‐imprinted polymer on poly(divinylbenzene) microspheres. By the results obtained by theoretical investigation, the interaction between the template and monomer complex was improved as compared with that between the template and the traditional l‐ phenylalanine‐imprinted polymer. The batch experiments indicated that the imprinting factor reached 2.5. Scatchard analysis demonstrated that the obtained “dummy” molecularly imprinted microspheres exhibited an affinity of 77.4 M·10?4, significantly higher that of a traditional polymer directly prepared by l‐ phenylalanine, which is in agreement with theoretical results. Competitive adsorption experiments also showed that the molecularly imprinted polymer with the dummy template effectively isolated l‐ phenylalanine from l‐ histidine and l‐ tryptophan with separation factors of 5.68 and 2.68, respectively. All these results demonstrated that the polymerizable ionic liquid as the dummy template could enhance the affinity and selectivity of molecularly imprinted polymer, thereby promoting the development of imprinting technology for biomolecules.  相似文献

The uniform-sized spherical molecularly imprinted polymers were successfully prepared through molecular imprinting technology by two-step seed swelling and mini-emulsion polymerization in the aqueous condition using quinine as template molecules and methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer. The polymers were characterized by IR spectra, thermal-weight analysis, scanning electron microscope and laser particle size analysis. The properties of imprinted polymers were investigated in different organic phases and aqueous media. In the organic media, results suggested that polar interactions (hydrogen bonding, ionic interactions) between acidic monomer/polymer and template molecules are mainly responsible for the binding and recognition; whereas in the aqueous medium, a considerable recognition effect was also obtained where the ionic (electrostatic) interaction and hydrophobic interaction play an important role. The experiments of binding different substrates indicated that the MIPs possessed an excellent rebinding ability and inherent selectivity to quinine. __________ Translated from Zhongshan Dcocue Xuebao/Acta Scientianum Natralium University Sunyatseni, 2005, 44(3)(in Chinese)  相似文献

This article describes for the first time the development of a new polymerization technique by introducing iniferter‐induced “living” radical polymerization mechanism into precipitation polymerization and its application in the molecular imprinting field. The resulting iniferter‐induced “living” radical precipitation polymerization (ILRPP) has proven to be an effective approach for generating not only narrow disperse poly(ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) microspheres but also molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) microspheres with obvious molecular imprinting effects towards the template (a herbicide 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4‐D)), rather fast template rebinding kinetics, and appreciable selectivity over structurally related compounds. The binding association constant Ka and apparent maximum number Nmax for the high‐affinity sites of the 2,4‐D imprinted polymer were determined by Scatchard analysis and found to be 1.18 × 104 M?1 and 4.37 μmol/g, respectively. In addition, the general applicability of ILRPP in molecular imprinting was also confirmed by the successful preparation of MIP microspheres with another template (2‐chloromandelic acid). In particular, the living nature of ILRPP makes it highly useful for the facile one‐pot synthesis of functional polymer/MIP microspheres with surface‐bound iniferter groups, which allows their direct controlled surface modification via surface‐initiated iniferter polymerization and is thus of great potential in preparing advanced polymer/MIP materials. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
