The synthesis of half-sandwich transition-metal complexes containing the Cab(N) and Cab(N,S) chelate ligands (HCab(N) = HC2B10H10CH2C5H4N (1), LiCab(N,S) = LiSC2B10H10CH2C5H4N (4)) is described. Compounds 1 and 4 were treated with chloride-bridged dimers [{Ir(Cp*)Cl2}2] (Cp* = eta5-C5Me5), [{Ru(p-cymene)Cl2}2] and [{Rh(Cp*)Cl2}2] to give half-sandwich complexes [Ir(Cp*)Cl(Cab(N))] (2), [Ru(p-cymene)Cl(Cab(N))] (3), and [Rh(Cp*)Cl(Cab(N,S))] (5), respectively. Addition reaction of LiCab(S) (Cab(S) = SC2(H)B10H10) to the rhodium complex 5 yields [Rh(Cp*)(Cab(S))(Cab(N,S))] (6). All the complexes were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy, and by elemental analysis. In addition, X-ray structure analyses were performed on complexes 2, 3, 5, and 6, in which the potential C,N- and N,S-chelate ligands were found to coordinate in a bidentate mode. The carborane complex 2 shows catalytic activities up to 3.7x10(5) g PE mol(-1) Ir h(-1) for the polymerization of ethylene in the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO) as cocatalyst. The polymer obtained from this homogeneous catalytic reaction has a spherical morphology. Catalytic activities and the molecular weight of polyethylene have been investigated for various reaction conditions.  相似文献

Transition metal-benzyne complexes have found many applications in organic synthesis, mechanistic studies, and the synthesis of functional materials. In sharp contrast, the chemistry of transition metal-carboryne complexes, especially late transition metal complexes, is virtually unknown. This communication reports a novel nickel-mediated regioselective [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of carboryne with alkynes via the Ni-carboryne intermediate (eta2-C2B10H10)Ni(PPh3)2. Because of the bulkiness of the carborane moiety, a high regioselectivity was achieved in the reactions involving unsymmetrical alkynes. This work furnishes a novel method for the preparation of highly substituted benzocarboranes which are difficult to obtain by other methods.  相似文献

The reaction of the 16-electron "pseudo-aromatic" complex Cp*Ir[Se2C2(B10H10)] (1, Cp* = eta5-C5Me5) with [Ir(cod)(micro-OC2H5)]2 leads to the trinuclear iridium complexes {(cod)Ir[Se2C2(B10H8)(OC2H5)]}Ir{[Se2C2(B10H10)]IrCp*} (2), {(cod)Ir[Se2C2(B10H8)(OC2H5)]}Ir{[Se2C2(B10H9)]IrCp*} (3), {Cp*Ir[Se2C2(B10H9)]}{IrSe(2)[C2(B10H9)(OC2H5)]}{[Se2C2(B10H10)] IrCp*} (4) and one mononuclear complex Cp*Ir[Se2C2(B10H8)(OC2H5)(2)] (5). The reactivity of 2 was investigated and revealed that transformation from 2 to 3 occurred thermally in solution. The transoid complex 2 (with the carborane diselenolato units in trans position) can be converted in nearly 90% yield to the cisoid complex 3. In complexes 2, 3, two diselenolato carborane ligands bridge the Ir(3) core, which consists of Ir-Ir metal bonds. Compared with transoid 2, the cisoid 3 contains two iridium-boron bonds. Complex 4 consists of three different coordination environment carborane ligands (Ir-B(cluster): {Cp*Ir[Se2C2(B10H9)]}, O-B(cluster): {[Se2C2(B10H9)](OC2H5)}, and intact carborane: {Cp*Ir[Se2C2 (B10H10)]}) without the presence of a metal-metal bond. Analogous reaction of 1 with [Ir(cod)(micro-OCH(3))](2) results in formation of the trinuclear complex {Cp*Ir[Se2C2(B10H9)]}{IrSe(2)[C2(B10H9)(OCH3)]}{[Se2C2(B10H10)]IrCp*} (6) and mononuclear complex Cp*Ir[Se2C2(B10H8)(OCH3)(2)] (7). The structures of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 have been determined by crystallographic studies.  相似文献

The synthesis of trinuclear half-sandwich iridium and rhodium complexes containing both N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) and 1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane ligands is described. Rhodium(III) and iridium(III) complexes containing bis(pyrazolyl)methane ligands (pz = pyrazole, L' in general; specifically, L1 = H2C(pz)2, L2 = H2C(pzMe2)2, L3 = H2C(pz4Me)2, L4 = Me2C(pz)2), have been prepared in a study exploring the reactivity of these ligands toward [Cp*MCl(mu-Cl)]2 dimers (M = Rh, Ir; Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl). When the reaction was carried out in acetone solution, complexes of the type [Cp*M(L')Cl]Cl were obtained. However, when L1 and L2 ligands have been employed with excess [Cp*MCl(mu-Cl)]2, the formation of [Cp*M(L')Cl][Cp*MCl3] species has been observed. PGSE NMR measurements have been carried out for these complexes, in which the counterion is a cyclopentadienyl metal complex, in CD2Cl2 as a function of the concentration. The hydrodynamic radius (rH) and, consequently, the hydrodynamic volume (VH) of all the species have been determined from the measured translational self-diffusion coefficients (Dt), indicating the predominance of ion pairs in solution. NOE measurements and X-ray single-crystal studies suggest that the [Cp*MCl3]- approaches the cation, orienting the three Cl-legs of the "piano-stool" toward the CH2 moieties of the bis(pyrazolyl)methane ligands. The reaction of 1 equiv of [Cp*M(L')Cl]Cl or [Cp*M(L')Cl][Cp*MCl3] with 1 equiv of AgX (X = ClO4 or CF3SO3) in CH2Cl2 allows the generation of [Cp*M(L')Cl]X, whereas the reaction of 1 equiv of [Cp*M(L')Cl] with 2 equiv of AgX yields the dicationic complexes [Cp*M(L')(H2O)][X]2, where single water molecules are directly bonded to the metal atoms. The solid-state structures of a number of complexes were confirmed by X-ray crystallographic studies. The reaction of [Cp*Ir(L')(H2O)][X]2 with ammonium formate in water or acetone solution allows the generation of the hydride species [Cp*Ir(L')H][X].  相似文献

The reactivity of [Cp(2)Ln(mu-OH)(THF)]2 (Ln = Y (1), Er (2), Yb (3)) toward PhEtCCO, PhNCO, Cp3Ln, [Cp2Ln(mu-CH3)]2, and the LiCl adduct of Cp2Ln(n)Bu(THF)x was examined. In all cases, OH-centered reactivity is observed: complexes 1-3 react with PhEtCCO to form the O-H addition products [Cp2Ln(mu-eta1:eta2-O2CCHEtPh)]2 (Ln = Yb (5), Er (6), Y (7), respectively, for 1-3), whereas treatment of 1 with PhNCO affords the addition/CpH-elimination/rearrangement product [{Cp2Y(THF)}2(mu-eta2:eta2-O2CNPh)] (8), which contains an unusual PhNCO(2) dianionic ligand. Analogous compound [Cp2Ln(THF)]2(mu-eta2:eta2-O2CNPh) (Ln = Yb (9), Er (10)) and 8 can be obtained in a higher yield by treatment of [Cp2Ln(mu-OH)(THF)]2 with PhNCO followed by reaction with the corresponding Cp3Ln. However, attempts to prepare the corresponding heterobimetallic complex by reacting stoichiometric amounts of [Cp2Y(mu-OH)(THF)]2 with PhNCO followed by treating it with Cp3Yb are unsuccessful. Instead, only rearrangement products 8 and 9 are obtained. Furthermore, the reaction of 3 with [Cp2Yb(mu-CH3)]2 or Cp3Yb forms oxo-bridged compound [Cp2Yb(THF)]2(mu-O) (11), whereas the reaction of [Cp2ErCl]2 with Li(n)Bu followed by treatment with 2 affords unexpected mu-oxo lanthanocene cluster (Cp2Er)3(mu-OH)(mu3-O)(mu-Cl)Li(THF)4 (12). In contrast to 1 and 2, 3 shows a strong tendency to undergo the intermolecular elimination of CpH at room temperature, giving trinuclear species [Cp2Yb(mu-OH)]2[CpYb(THF)](mu3-O) (4). The single-crystal X-ray diffraction structures of 1, 2, and 4-12 are described. All the results offer an interesting contrast to transition- and main-metal hydroxide complexes.  相似文献

Synthesis, structure, and reactivity of carboranylamidinate‐based half‐sandwich iridium and rhodium complexes are reported for the first time. Treatment of dimeric metal complexes [{Cp*M(μCl)Cl}2] (M=Ir, Rh; Cp*=η5‐C5Me5) with a solution of one equivalent of nBuLi and a carboranylamidine produces 18‐electron complexes [Cp*IrCl(CabN‐DIC)] ( 1 a ; CabN‐DIC=[iPrN?C(closo‐1,2‐C2B10H10)(NHiPr)]), [Cp*RhCl(CabN‐DIC)] ( 1 b ), and [Cp*RhCl(CabN‐DCC)] ( 1 c ; CabN‐DCC=[CyN?C(closo‐1,2‐C2B10H10)(NHCy)]). A series of 16‐electron half‐sandwich Ir and Rh complexes [Cp*Ir(CabN′‐DIC)] ( 2 a ; CabN′‐DIC=[iPrN?C(closo‐1,2‐C2B10H10)(NiPr)]), [Cp*Ir(CabN′‐DCC)] ( 2 b , CabN′‐DCC=[CyN?C(closo‐1,2‐C2B10H10)(NCy)]), and [Cp*Rh(CabN′‐DIC)] ( 2 c ) is also obtained when an excess of nBuLi is used. The 16-electron half-sandwich complex [Cp*Ir[S2C2(B10H10)]] (Cp* = eta5-C5Me5) (1a) reacts with [[Rh(cod)(mu-Cl)]2] (cod = cycloocta-1,5-diene, C8H12) in different molar ratios to give three products, [[Cp*Ir[S2C2(B10H9)]]Rh(cod)] (2), trans-[[Cp*Ir[S2C2(B10H9)]]Rh[[S2C2(B10H10)]IrCp*]] (3), and [Rh2(cod)2[(mu-SH)(mu-SC)(CH)(B10H10)]] (4). Complex 3 contains an Ir2Rh backbone with two different Ir-Rh bonds (3.003(3) and 2.685(3) angstroms). The dinuclear complex 2 reacts with the mononuclear 16-electron complex 1a to give 3 in refluxing toluene. Reaction of 1a with [W(CO)3(py)3] (py = C5H5N) in the presence of BF3.EtO2 leads to the trinuclear cluster [[Cp*Ir[S2C2(B10H10)]]2W(CO)2] (5) together with [[Cp*Ir(CO)[S2C2(B10H10)]]W(CO)5] (6), and [Cp*Ir(CO)[S2C2(B10H10)]] (7). Analogous reactions of [Cp*Rh[S2C2(B10H10)]] (1 b) with [[Rh(cod)(mu-Cl)]2] were investigated and two complexes cis-[[Cp*Rh[S2C2(B10H10)]]2Rh] (8) and trans-[[Cp*Rh[S2C2(B10H10)]]2Rh] (9) were obtained. In refluxing THF solution, the cisoid 8 is converted in more than 95 % yield to the transoid 9. All new complexes 2-9 were characterized by NMR spectroscopy (1H, 11B NMR) and X-ray diffraction structural analyses are reported for complexes 2-5, 8, and 9.  相似文献

The tetraphenylborate salt of the decamethyl titanocene cation, [Cp*2Ti][BPh4] (1, Cp* = C5Me5), was prepared by reaction of Cp*2TiH with [Cp2Fe][BPh4] and by reaction of Cp*2TiMe with [PhNMe2H][BPh4]. The crystal structure of 1 shows that the Cp*2Ti cation has a bent metallocene structure with agostic interactions with the metal center of two adjacent methyl groups on one of the Cp* ligands. Compound 1 reacts readily with THF to give the adduct [Cp*2Ti(THF)][BPh4] (2). In fluorobenzene, 1 forms the eta1-fluorobenzene adduct [Cp*2Ti(eta1-FC6H5)][BPh4] (3), which was structurally characterized. In contrast to the thermal stability of 3, addition of alpha,alpha,alpha-trifluorotoluene to either 1 or 2 results in C-F activation to give Cp*2TiF2 and PhCF2CF2Ph as the main products. This reactivity toward benzylic C-F bonds is also reflected in the reactivity toward the fluorinated borate anions [B(C6F5)4]- and {B(3,5-(CF3)2C6H3]4}-: reaction of Cp*2TiMe with their [PhNMe2H]+ salts results in a stable complex for the former anion, whereas rapid C-F activation is observed for the latter.  相似文献

The reactions of lithiated diphosphanes with transition metal chlorides constitute a new general entry to phosphinophosphinidene complexes: the reaction of Cp2ZrCl2(Cp = C5H5) with tBu2P-P(SiMe3)Li (molar ratio approximately 1:1) yields [mu-(1,2:2-eta-tBu2P=P)[Zr(Cl)Cp2]2]; the reaction of Cp2ZrCl2 with tBu2P-P(SiMe3)Li (molar ratio approximately 1:2) and an excess of PPhMe2 in DME yields the first terminally bonded phosphinophosphinidene complex, [[Zr(PPhMe2)Cp2](eta1-P-PtBu2)].  相似文献

The synthesis, structures, and unusual reactivity of (C5R5)2ZrR'(ClPh)+ chlorobenzene complexes are described. The reaction of (C5R5)2ZrR'2 with [Ph3C][B(C6F5)4] in C6D5Cl affords [(C5R5)2ZrR'(ClC6D5)][B(C6F5)4] chlorobenzene complexes (1-d5, R' = CH2Ph and (C5R5)2 = (C5H5)2; 2a-d-d5, R' = Me and (C5R5)2 = rac-(1,2-ethylene(bis)indenyl) (2a), (C5H5)2 (2b), (C5H4Me)2 (2c), (C5Me5)2 (2d, C5Me5 = Cp*)). Complexes 1 and 2b,c are thermally robust but are converted to [{(C5R5)2Zr(mu-Cl)}2][B(C6F5)4]2 (4b,c) by a photochemical process in ClPh solution. In contrast, 2d undergoes facile thermal ortho-C-H activation to yield [Cp*2Zr(eta2-C,Cl-2-Cl-C6H4)][B(C6F5)4] (5), which slowly rearranges to [(eta4,eta1-C5Me5C6H4)Cp*ZrCl][B(C6F5)4] (6) via beta-Cl elimination and benzyne insertion into a Zr-CCp* bond. The higher thermal reactivity of 2d versus that of 1 and 2b,c is attributed to steric crowding associated with the Cp* ligands of 2d, which forces a ClPh ortho-hydrogen close to the Zr-Me group.  相似文献

Reduction of Cp*WCl4 afforded the metalated complex (eta6-C5Me4CH2)(dmpe)W(H)Cl (1) (Cp* = C5Me5, dmpe = 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane). Reactions with CO and H(2) suggested that 1 is in equilibrium with the 16-electron species [Cp(dmpe)WCl], and 1 was also shown to react with silanes R2SiH2 (R2 = Ph2 and PhMe) to give the tungsten(IV) silyl complexes Cp*(dmpe)(H)(Cl)W(SiHR2) (6a, R2 = Ph2; 6b, R2 = PhMe). Abstraction of the chloride ligand in 1 with LiB(C6F5)4 gave a reactive species that features a doubly metalated Cp ligand, [(eta7-C5Me3(CH2)2)(dmpe)W(H)2][B(C6F5)4] (4). In its reaction with dinitrogen, 4 behaves as a synthon for the 14-electron fragment [Cp*(dmpe)W]+, to give the dinuclear dinitrogen complex ([Cp*(dmpe)W]2(micro-N2)) [B(C6F5)4]2 (5). Hydrosilanes R2SiH2 (R2 = Ph2, PhMe, Me2, Dipp(H); Dipp = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl) were shown to react with 4 in double Si-H bond activation reactions to give the silylene complexes [Cp*(dmpe)H2W = SiR2][B(C6F5)4] (8a-d). Compounds 8a,b (R2 = Ph2 and PhMe, respectively) were also synthesized by abstraction of the chloride ligands from silyl complexes 6a,b. Dimethylsilylene complex 8c was found to react with chloroalkanes RCl (R = Me, Et) to liberate trialkylchlorosilanes RMe2SiCl. This reaction is discussed in the context of its relevance to the mechanism of the direct synthesis for the industrial production of alkylchlorosilanes.  相似文献

The bioconjugation of organometallic complexes with peptides has proven to be a novel approach for drug discovery. We report the facile and chemoselective reaction of tyrosine-containing G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) peptides with [Cp*Rh(H(2)O)(3)](OTf)(2), in water, at room temperature, and at pH 5-6. We have focused on three important GPCR peptides; namely, [Tyr(1)]-leu-enkephalin, [Tyr(4)]-neurotensin(8-13), and [Tyr(3)]-octreotide, each of which has a different position for the tyrosine residue, together with competing functionalities. Importantly, all other functional groups present, i.e., amino, carboxyl, disulfide, phenyl, and indole, were not prominent sites of reactivity by the Cp*Rh tris aqua complex. Furthermore, the influence of the Cp*Rh moiety on the structure of [Tyr(3)]-octreotide was characterized by 2D NMR, resulting in the first representative structure of an organometallic-peptide complex. The biological consequences of these Cp*Rh-peptide complexes, with respect to GPCR binding and growth inhibition of MCF7 and HT29 cancer cells, will be presented for [(η(6)-Cp*Rh-Tyr(1))-leu-enkephalin](OTf)(2) and [(η(6)-Cp*Rh-Tyr(3))-octreotide](OTf)(2).  相似文献

Naphthalene and anthracene transition metalates are potent reagents, but their electronic structures have remained poorly explored. A study of four Cp*-substituted iron complexes (Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) now gives rare insight into the bonding features of such species. The highly oxygen- and water-sensitive compounds [K(18-crown-6){Cp*Fe(η(4)-C(10)H(8))}] (K1), [K(18-crown-6){Cp*Fe(η(4)-C(14)H(10))}] (K2), [Cp*Fe(η(4)-C(10)H(8))] (1), and [Cp*Fe(η(4)-C(14)H(10))] (2) were synthesized and characterized by NMR, UV-vis, and (57)Fe M?ssbauer spectroscopy. The paramagnetic complexes 1 and 2 were additionally characterized by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The molecular structures of complexes K1, K2, and 2 were determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Cyclic voltammetry of 1 and 2 and spectroelectrochemical experiments revealed the redox properties of these complexes, which are reversibly reduced to the monoanions [Cp*Fe(η(4)-C(10)H(8))](-) (1(-)) and [Cp*Fe(η(4)-C(14)H(10))](-) (2(-)) and reversibly oxidized to the cations [Cp*Fe(η(6)-C(10)H(8))](+) (1(+)) and [Cp*Fe(η(6)-C(14)H(10))](+) (2(+)). Reduced orbital charges and spin densities of the naphthalene complexes 1(-/0/+) and the anthracene derivatives 2(-/0/+) were obtained by density functional theory (DFT) methods. Analysis of these data suggests that the electronic structures of the anions 1(-) and 2(-) are best represented by low-spin Fe(II) ions coordinated by anionic Cp* and dianionic naphthalene and anthracene ligands. The electronic structures of the neutral complexes 1 and 2 may be described by a superposition of two resonance configurations which, on the one hand, involve a low-spin Fe(I) ion coordinated by the neutral naphthalene or anthracene ligand L, and, on the other hand, a low-spin Fe(II) ion coordinated to a ligand radical L(?-). Our study thus reveals the redox noninnocent character of the naphthalene and anthracene ligands, which effectively stabilize the iron atoms in a low formal, but significantly higher spectroscopic oxidation state.  相似文献

One common reaction that metallabenzene complexes undergo is the formation of cyclopentadienyl (Cp) complexes. Density functional theory (DFT) was used here to investigate the reaction mechanism. It was found that the reaction can proceed via a carbene migratory insertion class of C-C coupling. Cp complexes are found to be thermodynamically favored, except for the case of (C5H5Ir)(PH3)2Cl2 (1j) where the metallabenzene was favored. Isolation a rhodiabenzene of the type (C5H5Rh)(PH3)2Cl2 (1m) and a palladiabenzene, such as (C5H5Pd)Cp (1p), may be possible.  相似文献

Several novel zwitterionic half-sandwich complexes and pseudocloso metallacarboranes based on 1,2-(PPh(2))(2)-1,2-C(2)B(10)H(10) were successfully prepared, and further study proved that some of them can activate H(2) to form the metal hydride complexes Cp*M(H)(7,8-(PPh(2))(2)-7,8-C(2)B(9)H(10)) (M = Rh, Ir).  相似文献
