The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 3-Bromo phenol (3-BP) molecule have been recorded using Bruker IFS 66V spectrometer in the range of 4000-100 cm(-1). The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies in the ground state are calculated by using the ab initio Hartree-fock (HF) and DFT (B3LYP) methods with 6-31G (d, p) and 6-311G (d, p) basis sets. The computed values of frequencies are scaled using a suitable scale factor to yield good coherence with the observed values. Making use of the recorded data, the complete vibrational assignments are made and analysis of the observed fundamental bands of molecule is carried out. The geometries and normal modes of vibrations obtained from ab initio HF and B3LYP calculations are in good agreement with the experimentally observed data. The differences between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals are very small in DFT than HF. The inductive effect of halogen atom in the molecule has also been investigated.  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical study on molecular structure and vibrational spectra of 4-nitrotoluene are studied. The FTIR and FTRaman experimental spectra of the molecule have been recorded in the range of 4000–100 cm?1. Making use of the recorded data, the complete vibrational assignments are made and analysis of the observed fundamental bands of molecule is carried out. The experimental determinations of vibrational frequencies are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab initio HF and DFT quantum mechanical calculations using HF/6-31G (d, p), B3LYP/6-31++G* (d, p) and B3LYP/6-311++G* (d, p) methods. The differences between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals are very small in B3LYP than HF. The geometries and normal modes of vibrations obtained from ab initio HF and B3LYP calculations are in good agreement with the experimentally observed data. Comparison of the simulated spectra provides important information about the ability of the computational method (B3LYP) to describe the vibrational modes. The vibrations of NO2 and CH3 groups coupled with skeletal vibrations are also investigated.  相似文献

The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT Raman spectra of p-toluenesulfonyl isocyanate (p-tosyl isocyanate) have been measured. The molecular geometry, vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities, Raman activities and atomic charges have been calculated by using ab initio HF and density functional theory calculation (B3LYP) with 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. Complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the compound were carried out using the observed FTIR and FT Raman data. The thermodynamic functions of the title compound were also performed with the aid of HF/6-311+G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) levels of theory. Simulated FTIR and FT Raman spectra for p-tosyl isocyanate showed good agreement with the observed spectra. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. The dipole moment (μ), polarizability (α) and the hyperpolarizability (β) values of the investigated molecule have been computed using HF and B3LYP methods.  相似文献

The Fourier-transform infrared spectrum of 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (DCNB) was recorded in the region 4000-400cm(-1). The Fourier-transform Raman spectrum of DCNB was also recorded in the region 3500-50cm(-1). Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of DCNB were carried out by ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the total dipole moment (μ) and the first-order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated compound were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The calculated results also show that the DCNB might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of DCNB is also reported based on total energy distribution (TED). The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for the title compound have also been constructed.  相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of ferulic acid (FA) (4-hydroxy-3-methoxycinnamic acid) were carried out by using density functional (DFT/B3LYP/BLYP) method with 6-31G(d,p) as basis set. The optimized geometrical parameters obtained by DFT calculations are in good agreement with single crystal XRD data. The vibrational spectral data obtained from solid phase FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra are assigned based on the results of the theoretical calculations. The observed spectra are found to be in good agreement with calculated values. The electric dipole moment (μ) and the first hyperpolarizability (β) values of the investigated molecule have been computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The calculation results also show that the FA molecule might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of FA was also reported. The energy and oscillator strength calculated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) results complements with the experimental findings. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for the title molecule have been constructed.  相似文献

The complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the compound were carried out using the observed FTIR and FT-Raman data. The molecular vibrations of xanthine were investigated in polycrystalline sample, at room temperature by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectroscopies. The spectra of the molecule have been recorded in the regions 4000-50 cm(-1) and 3500-100 cm(-1), respectively. Theoretical information on the optimized geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared and Raman intensities were obtained by means of ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) gradient calculations with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies which were determined experimentally from the spectral data are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab initio and DFT calculations. A close agreement was achieved between the observed and calculated frequencies by refinement of the scale factors. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. Thermodynamic properties like entropy, heat capacity, zero point energy have been calculated for the molecule. Unambiguous vibrational assignment of all the fundamentals was made using the potential energy distribution (PED).  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical spectra of 3-bromoanisole (3-BA) are studied. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of title molecule in the liquid phase have been recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1). The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state have been calculated by using Hartree-Fock and density functional method (LSDA and MPW1PW91) with the 6-31G (d, p) and 6-311G (d, p) basis sets. The vibrational frequencies are calculated and scaled values have been compared with the experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found in good agreement. The DFT-LSDA/6-311G (d, p) calculations have been found are more reliable than the ab initio HF/6-31G (d, p) calculations for the vibrational study of 3-BA. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) are compared with experimental values of the molecule. The alteration of vibrational bands due to the substitutions in the base molecule is also investigated from their characteristic region of linked spectrum.  相似文献

Raman and FTIR spectra of 2-phenyl-4-(4-methoxy benzylidene)-2-oxazolin-5-one were recorded in the regions, 100-3300 and 400-4000 cm(-1), respectively. Vibrational frequencies and intensities of the fundamental modes of this hetrocyclic organic molecule were computed using ab initio as well as AM1 semiempirical molecular orbital methods. Ab initio calculations were carried out with basis set up to RHF/6-311G. Conformational studies regarding the effect of moving the methoxy group in the 2-phenyl-4-(4-methoxy benzylidene)-2-oxazolin-5-one molecule to a different position on the ring was also carried out. Observed vibrational wavenumbers were found to be mostly consistent with ab initio values. The most intense mode of vibration observed at 1250 cm(-1) in Raman spectra, also observed as a strong band in FTIR, was assigned as C-O stretching vibration in the methoxy group. Asymmetric stretching vibrations between CC and CN bonds was predicted as most intense mode by our ab initio calculation.  相似文献

In this work, the vibrational spectral analysis was carried out by using FT-Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy in the range 100-4000cm(-1) and 400-4000cm(-1) respectively, for 1-nitronaphthalene (C(10)H(7)NO(2)) molecule. The molecular structure, fundamental vibrational frequencies and intensity of the vibrational bands are interpreted with the aid of structure optimizations and normal coordinate force field calculations based density functional theory (DFT) and ab initio HF methods and different basis sets combination. The complete vibrational assignments of wavenumbers were made on the basis of total energy distribution (TED). The results of the calculations were applied to simulated spectra of the title compound, which show excellent agreement with observed spectra. The scaled B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) results show the best agreement with the experimental values over the other methods. The energy and oscillator strength calculated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) complements with the experimental findings. Thermodynamic properties of the title compound at different temperatures have been calculated. Besides, frontier molecular orbitals (FMO), molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) were performed.  相似文献

Ab initio molecular orbital (MO) calculations have been carried out for base-hydrogen fluoride (HF) complexes (base = O3 and SO2) in order to elucidate the structures and energetics of the complexes. The ab initio calculations were performed up to the QCISD(T)/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory. In both complexes, hydrogen-bonded structures where the hydrogen of HF orients toward one of the oxygen atoms of bases were obtained as stable forms. The calculations showed that cis and trans isomers exist in both complexes. All calculations for the SO2-HF complex indicated that the cis form is more stable in energy than the trans form. On the other hand, in O3-HF complexes, the stable structures are changed by the ab initio levels of theory used, and the energies of the cis and trans forms are close to each other. From the most sophisticated calculations (QCISD(T)/6-311++G(d,p)//QCISD/6-311+G(d) level), it was predicted that the complex formation energies for cis SO2-HF, trans SO2-HF, cis O3-HF, and trans O3-HF are 6.1, 5.7, 3.4, and 3.6 kcal/mol, respectively, indicating that the binding energy of HF to SO2 is larger than that of O3. The harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated for cis O3-HF and cis SO2-HF complexes were in good agreement with the experimental values measured by Andrews et al. Also, the calculated rotation constants for cis SO2-HF agreed with the experiment.  相似文献

The conformational behavior and structural stability of 2-butanimine were investigated by utilizing ab initio calculations with 6-311++G** basis set at HF, MP2, B3LYP and BLYP levels. The vibrational frequencies of 2-butanimine were computed. Complete vibrational assignments were made on the basis of normal coordinate calculations for stable conformer of the molecule. HF results without scaled quantum mechanical (SQM) force field procedure considered are in bad agreement with experimental values. Of the two DFT methods, BLYP reproduces the observed fundamental frequencies most satisfactorily with the mean absolute deviation of the non-CH stretching modes less than 21.3 cm(-1). The results indicate that BLYP calculation is a very promising approach for understanding the observed spectral features.  相似文献

An ab initio conformational analysis of methyl vinyl sulfone (CH2CHSO2CH3) has been carried out. Molecular geometry optimizations have been performed at the HF and MP2 levels of the theory. Relative energies of the stationary points have been determined by using different approaches, including electron correlation corrections up to the third order. The IR and Raman spectra of the liquid have been measured and a vibrational assignment is proposed. The height of the barrier to the methyl group internal rotation has been estimated. Theoretical calculations and vibrational spectra have shown that the predominant conformation of methyl vinyl sulfone has the C=C bond eclipsed with one of the S=O bonds. Similar eclipsed forms have been found in vinyl fluoro sulfone, vinyl chloro sulfone and divinyl sulfone by ab initio HF calculations.  相似文献

FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of p-fluoronitrobenzene (FNO(2)C(6)H(4)) have been recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1). In this work, the experimental and theoretical spectra of p-fluoronitrobenzene (p-FNBz) are studied. The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies are calculated in the ground state of molecule using ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and DFT (B3LYP and LSDA) methods with 6-31++G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. The computed values of frequencies are scaled to yield good coherence with observed values by using suitable factor. The complete assignments are performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in very good agreement. The alteration of vibration bands due to the substitutions at the first and fourth position of the skeletal ring is also investigated from their characteristic region of linked spectrum. The electronic structure and the assignment of the absorption bands in the electronic spectra of steady compounds are discussed. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. The thermodynamic properties of the title compound at different temperatures have been calculated in gas phase, revealing the correlations between standard heat capacities (C) standard entropies (S), standard enthalpy changes (H) and temperatures.  相似文献

The vibrational frequencies of these compounds were obtained theoretically by ab initio HF and DFT/B3LYP calculations employing the standard 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for optimized geometries and were compared with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) in the region of 400-4000 cm(-1) and with Raman spectra in the region of 100-4000 cm(-1). Complete vibrational assignment, analysis and correlation of the fundamental modes for these compounds have been carried out. The vibrational harmonic frequencies were scaled using scale factors, yielding a good agreement between the experimentally recorded and the theoretically calculated values.  相似文献
