The synthesis of novel, monocationic iridium(III) photosensitisers (Ir-PSs) with the general formula [Ir(III)(C^N)(2)(N^N)](+) (C^N: cyclometallating phenylpyridine ligand, N^N: neutral bidentate ligand) is described. The structures obtained were examined by cyclic voltammetry, UV/Vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy and X-ray analysis. All iridium complexes were tested for their ability as photosensitisers to promote homogeneously catalysed hydrogen generation from water. In the presence of [HNEt(3)][HFe(3)(CO)(11)] as a water-reduction catalyst (WRC) and triethylamine as a sacrificial reductant (SR), seven of the new iridium complexes showed activity. [Ir(6-iPr-bpy)(ppy)(2)]PF(6) (bpy: 2,2'-bipyridine, ppy: 2-phenylpyridine) turned out to be the most efficient photosensitiser. This complex was also tested in combination with other WRCs based on rhodium, platinum, cobalt and manganese. In all cases, significant hydrogen evolution took place. Maximum turnover numbers of 4550 for this Ir-PS and 2770 for the Fe WRC generated in situ from [HNEt(3)][HFe(3)(CO)(11)] and tris[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]phosphine was obtained. These are the highest overall efficiencies for any Ir/Fe water-reduction system reported to date. The incident photon to hydrogen yield reaches 16.4% with the best system.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of π-bonded ruthenium, rhodium, and iridium o-benzoquinones [Cp*M(o-C(6)H(4)O(2))](n) [M = Ru (2), n = 1-; Rh (3), n = 0; Ir (4), n = 0] following a novel synthetic procedure. Compounds 2-4 were fully characterized by spectroscopic methods and used as chelating organometallic linkers, "OM-linkers", toward luminophore bricks such as Ru(bpy)(2)(2+), Rh(ppy)(2)(+), and Ir(ppy)(2)(+) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; ppy = 2-phenylpyridine) for the design of a novel family of octahedral bimetallic complexes of the general formula [(L-L)(2)M(OM-linkers)][X](m) (X = counteranion; m = 0, 1, 2) whose luminescent properties depend on the choice of the OM-linker and the luminophore brick. Thus, dinuclear assemblies such as [(bpy)(2)Ru(2)][OTf] (5-OTf), [(bpy)(2)Ru(2)][Δ-TRISPHAT] (5-ΔT) {TRISPHAT = tris[tetrachlorobenzene-1,2-bis(olato)]phosphate}, [(bpy)(2)Ru(3)][OTf](2) (6-OTf), [(bpy)(2)Ru(4)][OTf](2) (7-OTf), [(bpy)(2)Ru(4)][Δ-TRISPHAT](2) (7-ΔT), [(ppy)(2)Rh(2)] (8), [(ppy)(2)Rh(3)][OTf] (9-OTf), [(ppy)(2)Rh(4)][OTf] (10-OTf), [(ppy)(2)Rh(4)][Δ-TRISPHAT] (10-ΔT), [(ppy)(2)Ir(2)] (11), [(ppy)(2)Ir(3)][OTf] (12-OTf), [(ppy)(2)Ir(4)][OTf] (13-OTf), and [(ppy)(2)Ir(4)][Δ-TRISPHAT] (13-ΔT) were prepared and fully characterized. The X-ray molecular structures of three of them, i.e., 5-OTf, 8, and 11, were determined. The structures displayed a main feature: for instance, the two oxygen centers of the OM-linker [Cp*Ru(o-C(6)H(4)O(2))](-) (2) chelate the octahedral chromophore metal center, whether it be ruthenium, rhodium, or iridium. Further, the carbocycle of the OM-linker 2 adopts a η(4)-quinone form but with some catecholate contribution due to metal coordination. All of these binuclear assemblies showed a wide absorption window that tailed into the near-IR (NIR) region, in particular in the case of the binuclear ruthenium complex 5-OTf with the anionic OM-linker 2. The latter feature is no doubt related to the effect of the OM-linker, which lights up the luminescence in these homo- and heterobinuclear compounds, while no effect has been observed on the UV-visible and emission properties because of the counteranion, whether it be triflate (OTf) or Δ-TRISPHAT. At low temperature, all of these compounds become luminescent; remarkably, the o-quinonoid linkers [Cp*M(o-C(6)H(4)O(2))](n) (2-4) turn on red and NIR phosphorescence in the binuclear octahedral species 5-7. This trend was even more observable when the ruthenium OM-linker 2 was employed. These assemblies hold promise as NIR luminescent materials, in contrast to those made from organic 1,2-dioxolene ligands that conversely are not emissive.  相似文献

Two mononuclear Ru(II) complexes, [Ru(ttbt)(pynap)(I)]I and [Ru(tpy)(Mepy)(2)(I)]I (tpy = 2,2';6,2"-terpyridine; ttbt = 4,4',4"-tri-tert-butyltpy; pynap = 2-(pyrid-2'-yl)-1,8-naphthyridine; and Mepy = 4-methylpyridine), are effective catalysts for the oxidation of water. This oxidation can be driven by a blue (λ(max) = 472 nm) LED light source using [Ru(bpy)(3)]Cl(2) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) as the photosensitizer. Sodium persulfate acts as a sacrificial electron acceptor to oxidize the photosensitizer that in turn drives the catalysis. The presence of all four components, light, photosensitizer, sodium persulfate, and catalyst, are required for water oxidation. A dyad assembly has been prepared using a pyrazine-based linker to join a photosensitizer and catalyst moiety. Irradiation of this intramolecular system with blue light produces oxygen with a higher turnover number than the analogous intermolecular component system under the same conditions.  相似文献

The development of an efficient and stable artificial photosensitizer for visible‐light‐driven hydrogen production is highly desirable. Herein, a new series of charge‐neutral, heteroleptic tricyclometalated iridium(III) complexes, [Ir(thpy)2(bt)] ( 1 – 4 ; thpy=2,2′‐thienylpyridine, bt=2‐phenylbenzothiazole and its derivatives), were systematically synthesized and their structural, photophysical, and electrochemical properties were established. Three solid‐state structures were studied by X‐ray crystallographic analysis. This design offers the unique opportunity to drive the metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) band to longer wavelengths for these iridium complexes. We describe new molecular platforms that are based on these neutral iridium complexes for the production of hydrogen through visible‐light‐induced photocatalysis over an extended period of time in the presence of [Co(bpy)3]2+ and triethanolamine (TEOA). The maximum amount of hydrogen was obtained under constant irradiation over 72 h and the system could regenerate its activity upon the addition of cobalt‐based catalysts when hydrogen evolution ceased. Our results demonstrated that the dissociation of the [Co(bpy)3]2+ catalyst contributed to the loss of catalytic activity and limited the long‐term catalytic performance of the systems. The properties of the neutral complexes are compared in detail to those of two known non‐neutral bpy‐type complexes, [Ir(thpy)2(dtb‐bpy)]+ ( 5 ) and [Ir(ppy)2(dtb‐bpy)]+ ( 6 ; ppy=2‐phenylpyridine, dtb‐bpy=4,4′‐di‐tert‐butyl‐2,2′‐dipyridyl). This work is expected to contribute toward the development of long‐lasting solar hydrogen‐production systems.  相似文献

The catalytic process of photoinduced hydrogen generation via the reduction of water has been investigated. The use of parallel synthetic techniques has facilitated the synthesis of a 32 member library of heteroleptic iridium complexes that was screened, using high-throughput photophysical techniques, to identify six potential photosensitizers for use in catalytic photoinduced hydrogen production. A Pd/Ni thin film hydrogen selective sensor allowed for rapid quantification of hydrogen produced via illumination of aqueous systems of the photosensitizer, tris(2,2'-dipyridyl)dichlorocobalt ([Co(bpy)(3)]Cl(2)), and triethanolamine (a sacrificial reductant) with ultra-bright light emitting diodes (LEDs). The use of an 8-well parallel photoreactor expedited the investigation of the hydrogen evolution process and facilitated mechanistic studies. All six compounds investigated produced considerably more hydrogen than commonly utilized photosensitizers and had relative quantum efficiencies of hydrogen production up to 37 times greater than that of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+).

Two novel iridium(III) complexes, [Ir(dfppy)(2)(pmc)] and [Ir(ppy)(2)(pmc)] (dfppy = 2-(4',6'-difluoro-phenyl)pyridine, ppy = 1-phenyl-pyridine), were designed and synthesized using 2-carboxyl-pyrimidine (Hpmc) as an ancillary ligand. Single crystals were obtained and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The tetrametallic complexes {[(C^N)(2)Ir(μ-pmc)](3)EuCl(3)} (C^N = dfppy, ppy) were synthesized using the iridium(III) complexes as "ligands". Photophysical and theoretical studies indicate that [Ir(dfppy)(2)(pmc)] is more suitable for sensitizing the emission of Eu(III) ions than [Ir(ppy)(2)(pmc)].  相似文献

We report a very efficient homogeneous system for the visible‐light‐driven hydrogen production in pure aqueous solution at room temperature. This comprises [RhIII(dmbpy)2Cl2]Cl ( 1 ) as catalyst, [Ru(bpy)3]Cl2 ( PS1 ) as photosensitizer, and ascorbate as sacrificial electron donor. Comparative studies in aqueous solutions also performed with other known rhodium catalysts, or with an iridium photosensitizer, show that 1) the PS1 / 1 /ascorbate/ascorbic acid system is by far the most active rhodium‐based homogeneous photocatalytic system for hydrogen production in a purely aqueous medium when compared to the previously reported rhodium catalysts, Na3[RhI(dpm)3Cl] and [RhIII(bpy)Cp*(H2O)]SO4 and 2) the system is less efficient when [IrIII(ppy)2(bpy)]Cl ( PS2 ) is used as photosensitizer. Because catalyst 1 is the most efficient rhodium‐based H2‐evolving catalyst in water, the performance limits of this complex were further investigated by varying the PS1 / 1 ratio at pH 4.0. Under optimal conditions, the system gives up to 1010 turnovers versus the catalyst with an initial turnover frequency as high as 857 TON h?1. Nanosecond transient absorption spectroscopy measurements show that the initial step of the photocatalytic H2‐evolution mechanism is a reductive quenching of the PS1 excited state by ascorbate, leading to the reduced form of PS1 , which is then able to reduce [RhIII(dmbpy)2Cl2]+ to [RhI(dmbpy)2]+. This reduced species can react with protons to yield the hydride [RhIII(H)(dmbpy)2(H2O)]2+, which is the key intermediate for the H2 production.  相似文献

Phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes have been attracting increasing attention in applications as luminescent chemosensors. However, no instance of an iridium(III) complex being used as a molecular logic gate has hitherto been reported. In the present study, two iridium(III) complexes, [Ir(ppy)(2)(PBT)] and [Ir(ppy)(2)(PBO)], have been synthesized (PBT, 2-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)-benzothiazole; PBO, 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benzoxazole), and their chemical structures have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Theoretical calculations and detailed studies of the photophysical and electrochemical properties of these two complexes have shown that the N^O ligands dominate their luminescence emission properties. Moreover, [Ir(ppy)(2)(PBT)], containing a sulfur atom in the N^O ligand, can serve as a highly selective chemodosimeter for Hg(2+) with ratiometric and naked-eye detection, which is associated with the dissociation of the N^O ligand PBT from the complex. Furthermore, complex [Ir(ppy)(2)(PBT)] has been further developed as an AND and INHIBIT logic gate with Hg(2+) and histidine as inputs.  相似文献

A series of new monocationic iridium(iii) complexes [Ir(C^N)(2)(N^N)]PF(6) with "large-surface"α,α'-diimin ligands N^N (dap = 1,12-diazaperylene, dmedap = 2,11-dimethyl-1,12-diazaperylene, dipdap = 2,11-diisopropyl-1,12-diazaperylene) and different cyclometalating ligands C^N (piq = 1-phenylisoquinoline, bzq = benzo[h]quinoline, ppz = 1-phenylpyrazole, thpy = 2-(2-thienyl)pyridine, ppy = 2-phenylpyridine, meppy = 2-(4-methylphenyl)pyridine, dfppy = 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine) were synthesized. The solid structures of the complexes [Ir(piq)(2)(dap)]PF(6), [Ir(bzq)(2)(dap)]PF(6), [Ir(ppy)(2)(dipdap)]PF(6), [Ir(piq)(2)(dmedap)]PF(6), [Ir(ppy)(2)(dap)]PF(6) and [Ir(ppz)(2)(dap)]PF(6) are reported. In [Ir(piq)(2)(dap)]PF(6), the dap ligand and one of the piq ligands of each cationic complex are involved in π-π stacking interactions forming supramolecular channels running along the crystallographic c axis. In the crystalline [Ir(bzq)(2)(dap)]PF(6)π-π stacking interactions between the metal complexes lead to the formation of a 2D layer structure. In addition, CH-π interactions were found in all compounds, which are what stabilizes the solid structure. In particular, a significant number of them were found in [Ir(piq)(2)(dap)]PF(6) and [Ir(bzq)(2)(dap)]PF(6). The crystal structures of [Ir(ppy)(2)(dipdap)]PF(6) and [Ir(ppy)(2)(dmedap)]PF(6) are also presented, being the first examples of bis-cyclometalated iridium(iii) complexes with phenanthroline-type α,α'-diimin ligands bearing bulky alkyl groups in the neighbourhood of the N-donor atoms. These ligands implicate a distorted octahedral coordination geometry that in turn destabilized the Ir-N(N^N) bonds. The new iridium(iii) complexes are not luminescent. All compounds show an electrochemically irreversible anodic peak between 1.15 and 1.58 V, which is influenced by the different cyclometalated ligands. All of the new complexes show two reversible successive one-electron "large-surface" ligand-centred reductions around -0.70 V and -1.30 V. Electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and collision induced decomposition (CID) measurements were used to investigate the stability of the new complexes. Thereby, the stability agreed well with the order of the Ir-N(N^N) bond lengths.  相似文献

Herein, the development of visible light-mediated atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of haloalkanes onto alkenes and alkynes using the reductive and oxidative quenching of [Ir{dF(CF(3))ppy}(2)(dtbbpy)]PF(6) and [Ru(bpy)(3)]Cl(2) is presented. Initial investigations indicated that the oxidative quenching of photocatalysts could effectively be utilized for ATRA, and since that report, the protocol has been expanded by broadening the scope of the reaction in terms of the photocatalysts, substrates, and solvents. In addition, further modifications of the reaction conditions allowed for the efficient ATRA of perfluoroalkyl iodides onto alkenes and alkynes utilizing the reductive quenching cycle of [Ru(bpy)(3)]Cl(2) with sodium ascorbate as the sacrificial electron donor. These results signify the complementary nature of the oxidative and reductive quenching pathways of photocatalysts and the ability to predictably direct reaction outcome through modification of the reaction conditions.  相似文献

The reaction between Ru(bpy)(2)Cl(2) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) and di-2-pyridylketone-p-nitrophenylhydrazone (dpknph) in refluxing ethanol gave [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in good yield. Optical measurements on [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in non-aqueous media revealed the presence of two interlocked electronic states due to conformational changes associated with the hydrazone moiety of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2). The equilibrium distribution of the high-energy beta-conformation associated with the high-energy electronic state and the low-energy alpha-conformation associated with the low-energy electronic state is solvent and solute dependent controlled by the solvent-solute and solute-solute interactions. The interplay between the alpha- and beta-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) allowed calculations of the extinction coefficients of electronic states by forcing the equilibrium to shift to one conformation using chemical stimuli. Extinction coefficients of 56000+/-2000 and 48500+/-2000 M(-1) cm(-1) were calculated in DMSO for the beta- and alpha-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2), respectively, using excess HgCl(2) in DMSO. Thermo-optical measurements on [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in DMSO confirmed the interconversion between the alpha- and beta-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) and gave changes in enthalpy (DeltaH(?)) of -35.5+/-4.0 and 13.0+/-0.5 kJ mol(-1), entropy (DeltaS(?)) of -126.9+/-20 and 45.2+/-4.5 kJ mol(-1), and free energy (DeltaG(?)) of 2.31+/-0.2 and -0.48+/-0.2 kJ mol(-1) in the absence and presence of NaBH(4) at 295 K. The high values for the extinction coefficients and low values and sensitivity of the activation parameters for the interconversion between the alpha- and beta-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in DMSO to solution composition allowed for the use of this system ([Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) and surrounding solvent or solute molecules) as a spectrophotometric sensor for a variety of chemical stimuli that include metal ions. Group 12 metal ions in concentrations as low as 1.00x10(-8) M can be detected and determined using [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in DMSO in the presence and absence of NaBH(4).  相似文献

Seven useful mixed-ligand complexes in the form of [Ir(terpy)(L)Cl]2+ were prepared and their spectroscopic and electrochemical properties were investigated. The ligands used were terpy = 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, L = 2,2'-bipyridine, 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine, 4,4'-diphenyl-2,2'-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline, 5-phenyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine. Synthetic methods were developed by a sequential ligand-replacement which occurred in the reaction vessel using a microwave oven. All complexes showed that LUMOs are based on the pi-system contribution of the terpyridine ligand for [Ir(terpy)(bpy)Cl]2+, [Ir(terpy)(dmbpy)Cl]2+, [Ir(terpy)(dpbpy)Cl]2+, [Ir(terpy)(phen)Cl]2+, [Ir(terpy)(dpphen)Cl]2+ and [Ir(terpy)(phphen)Cl]2+. On the other hand, the LUMO in the [Ir(terpy)(bppz)Cl]2+ complex is localized on the pi-system of the bppz ligand, whereas the HOMOs in the iridium complexes are localized on the terpyridine ligand. It was found that Ir(terpy)(L)Cl emits in a fluid solution at room temperature. The ancillary ligands, such as terpy and bpy, have been explored to extend the lifetime of the triplet 3(pi-pi') excited states of Ir(III) terpyridine complexes. Ir(III) terpyridine units with an electron donor (dmbpy) or electron acceptor substituents (terpy, dpbpy, phphen, dpphen and bppz) are found to decrease the energy of the 3LC states for use as photosensitizer molecular components in supramolecular devices. The spectroscopic and electrochemical details are also reported herein.  相似文献

Two new charge‐neutral iridium complexes, [Ir(tfm‐ppy)2(N,N′‐diisopropyl‐benzamidinate)] ( 1 ) and [Ir(tfm‐ppy)2(N,N′‐diisopropyl‐4‐diethylamino‐3,5‐dimethyl‐benzamidinate)] ( 2 ) (tfm‐ppy=4‐trifluoromethyl‐2‐phenylpyridine) containing an amidinate ligand and two phenylpyridine ligands were designed and characterised. The photophysical properties, electrochemical behaviours and emission quenching properties of these species were investigated. In concert with the cobalt catalyst [Co(bpy)3]2+, members of this new class of iridium complexes enable the photocatalytic generation of hydrogen from mixed aqueous solutions via an oxidative quenching pathway and display long‐term photostability under constant illumination over 72 h; one of these species achieved a relatively high turnover number of 1880 during this time period. In the case of complex 1 , the three‐component homogeneous photocatalytic system proved to be more efficient than a related system containing a charged complex, [Ir(tfm‐ppy)2(dtb‐bpy)]+ ( 3 , dtb‐bpy=4,4′‐di‐tert‐butyl‐2,2′‐dipyridyl). In combination with a rhodium complex as a water reduction catalyst, the performances of the systems using both complexes were also evaluated, and these systems exhibited a more efficient catalytic propensity for water splitting than did the cobalt‐based systems that have been studied previously.  相似文献

Protons from water are reduced by a catalytic system composed of a heteroleptic iridium(III) photosensitizer [Ir(ppy)2(bpy)]+, platinum catalyst, and sacrificial reductant. The hydrogen quantum yield reaches 0.26 in this study, which proceeds via reductive quenching of the excited photosensitizer by triethanolamine. This simplified approach allows the characterization of degradation products that are otherwise obscured in more complex systems. A novel 16-well setup for parallel kinetic analysis of H2 evolution enables high-throughput screening of reaction conditions and quantization of the decaying reaction rate. DFT calculations rationalize the differences between this and previous studies on tris-diimine ruthenium(II) photosensitizers.  相似文献

Novel phenylazole ligands were applied successfully in the synthesis of cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes of the general formula [Ir(phenylazole)(2)(bpy)]PF(6) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine). All complexes were fully characterized by NMR, IR, and MS spectroscopic studies as well as by cyclic voltammetry. Three crystal structures obtained by X-ray analysis complemented the spectroscopic investigations. The excited-state lifetimes of the iridium complexes were determined and showed to be in the range of several hundred ns to multiple μs. All obtained iridium complexes were active as photosensitizers in catalytic hydrogen evolution from water in the presence of triethylamine as a sacrificial reducing agent. Applying an in situ formed iron-based water reduction catalyst derived from [HNEt(3)](+) [HFe(3)(CO)(11)](-) and tris[3,5-tris-(trifluoromethyl)-phenyl]phosphine as the ligand, [Ir(2-phenylbenz-oxazole)(2)-(bpy)]PF(6) proved to be the most efficient complex giving a quantum yield of 16% at 440 nm light irradiation.  相似文献

Investigations of blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on [Ir(2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine)(2)(picolinate)] (FIrPic) have pointed to the cleavage of the picolinate as a possible reason for device instability. We reproduced the loss of picolinate and acetylacetonate ancillary ligands in solution by the addition of Br?nsted or Lewis acids. When hydrochloric acid is added to a solution of a [Ir(C^N)(2)(X^O)] complex (C^N = 2-phenylpyridine (ppy) or 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine (diFppy) and X^O = picolinate (pic) or acetylacetonate (acac)), the cleavage of the ancillary ligand results in the direct formation of the chloro-bridged iridium(III) dimer [{Ir(C^N)(2)(μ-Cl)}(2)]. When triflic acid or boron trifluoride are used, a source of chloride (here tetrabutylammonium chloride) is added to obtain the same chloro-bridged iridium(III) dimer. Then, we advantageously used this degradation reaction for the efficient synthesis of tris-heteroleptic cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes [Ir(C^N(1))(C^N(2))(L)], a family of cyclometalated complexes otherwise challenging to prepare. We used an iridium(I) complex, [{Ir(COD)(μ-Cl)}(2)], and a stoichiometric amount of two different C^N ligands (C^N(1) = ppy; C^N(2) = diFppy) as starting materials for the swift preparation of the chloro-bridged iridium(III) dimers. After reacting the mixture with acetylacetonate and subsequent purification, the tris-heteroleptic complex [Ir(ppy)(diFppy)(acac)] could be isolated with good yield from the crude containing as well the bis-heteroleptic complexes [Ir(ppy)(2)(acac)] and [Ir(diFppy)(2)(acac)]. Reaction of the tris-heteroleptic acac complex with hydrochloric acid gives pure heteroleptic chloro-bridged iridium dimer [{Ir(ppy)(diFppy)(μ-Cl)}(2)], which can be used as starting material for the preparation of a new tris-heteroleptic iridium(III) complex based on these two C^N ligands. Finally, we use DFT/LR-TDDFT to rationalize the impact of the two different C^N ligands on the observed photophysical and electrochemical properties.  相似文献

The known Os(IV)-cyanoimido complexes, mer-Et4N[OsIV(bpy)(Cl)3(NalphaCNbeta)] (mer-[OsIV=N-CN]-) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and trans-[OsIV(tpy)(Cl)2(NalphaCNbeta)] (trans-[OsIV=N-CN]) (2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine), have formal electronic relationships with high oxidation state Ru and Os-oxo and -dioxo complexes. These include multiple bonding to the metal, the ability to undergo multiple electron transfer, and the availability of nonbonding electron pairs for donation. Thermodynamic, oxo-like behavior is observed for mer-[OsIV=N-CN]- in the pH-dependence of its Os(VI/V) to Os(III/II) redox couples in 1:1 (v/v) CH3CN:H2O. Oxo-like behavior is also observed in the reaction between mer-[OsVI(bpy)(Cl)3(NalphaCNbeta)]PF6 and benzyl alcohol to give mer-[OsIV(bpy)(Cl)3(NalphaCNbetaH2)]PF6 and benzaldehyde. The reaction is first order in each reactant with kbenzyl(CH3CN, 25.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C) = (8.6 +/- 0.2) x 102 M-1 s-1. Formal NCN degrees transfer, analogous to O-atom transfer, occurs in reactions with tertiary phosphine and hexenes. In CH3CN under N2, a rapid reaction occurs between trans-[OsIV=N-CN] and PPh3 (kPPh3(DMF, 25.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C) = 4.06 +/- 0.02 M-1 s-1) to form the nitrilic N-bound Os(II)-(N-cyano)iminophosphorano product, trans-[OsII(tpy)(Cl)2(NalphaCNbetaPPh3)] (trans-[OsII-NalphaC-Nbeta=PPh3]). It undergoes solvolysis at 45 degrees C after 24 h to give trans-[OsII(tpy)(Cl)2(NCCH3)] and (N-cyano)iminophosphorane (NalphaC-Nbeta=PPh3). The analogue to epoxidation, N-cyanoaziridination of cyclohexene and 1-hexene by mer-[OsIV=N-CN]- and trans-[OsIV=N-CN], occurs at Nbeta to give the Os(IV)-N-cyanoaziridino complexes, mer-Et4N[OsII(bpy)(Cl)3(NalphaCNbetaC6H10)] and trans-[OsII(tpy)(Cl)2(NalphaCNbetaC6H11)], respectively. Oxidation to mer-[OsV(bpy)(Cl)3(NalphaCNbeta)]- greatly accelerates N-cyanoaziridination of cyclohexene, which is followed by slow solvolysis to give mer-[OsIII(bpy)(Cl)3(NCCH3)] and N-cyanoaziridine (NC-NC6H10). The Os-(N-cyano)aziridino complexes are the first well-characterized examples of coordinated cyanoaziridines.  相似文献

Newly prepared hydrido iridium(III) complexes [Ir(ppy)(PPh3)2(H)L](0,+) (ppy = bidentate 2-phenylpyridinato anionic ligand; L = MeCN (1b), CO (1c), CN(-) (1d); H being trans to the nitrogen of ppy ligand) emit blue light at the emission lambda(max) (452-457, 483-487 nm) significantly shorter than those (468, 495 nm) of the chloro complex Ir(ppy)(PPh3)2(H)(Cl) (1a). Replacing ppy of 1a-d with F2ppy (2,4-difluoro-2-phenylpyridinato anion) and F2Meppy (2,4-difluoro-2-phenyl-m-methylpyridinato anion) brings further blue-shifts down to the emission lambda(max) at 439-441 and 465-467 nm with CIE color coordinates being x = 0.16 and y = 0.18-0.20 to display a deep-blue photoemission. No significant blue shift is observed by replacing PPh3 of 1a with PPh2Me to produce Ir(ppy)(PPh2Me)2(H)(Cl) (1aPPh 2Me), which displays emission lambda max at 467 and 494 nm. The chloro complexes, [Ir(ppy)(PPh3)2(Cl)(L)](0,+) (L = MeCN (2b), CO (2c), CN(-) (2d)) having a chlorine ligand trans to the nitrogen of ppy also emit deep-blue light at emission lambda(max) 452-457 and 482-487 nm.  相似文献
