Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(II), palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes witho-(OCD),m-(MCD) andp-chlorophenyldithiocarbamate (PCD) ligands have been synthesised and characterised by chemical analyses, molecular weight determinations, conductance measurements, electronic and i.r. spectral studies. The thermal behaviour of the complexes has been studied by t.g. and d.t.a. techniques in a static air atmosphere and heats of reaction of different decomposition steps have been calculated from the d.t.a. curves. The thermal decomposition products of the complexes were identified by elemental analyses and i.r. spectra.  相似文献

A new Schiff base has been synthesized from 4-aminoantipyrine and 3-formylsalicylic acid. The ligand has a dianionic tetradentate compartmental OONO donor system. The cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and dioxouranium(VI) complexes exist in phenolato-bridged dinuclear species, while palladium(II) gives a mononuclear complex with free –COOH groups. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, i.r., u.v.-vis, thermal and magnetic measurements.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes has been studied using thermogravimetry (TG) and differential TG (DTG). The complexes have been characterized by IR spectroscopy. The results reveal that the decomposition of these complexes is accompanied by the formation of metal acetate as an intermediate fragments. On the basis of the applicability of a non-isothermal kinetic equations, it was demonstrated that the stability of the complexes follows the order Co(II)>Cu(II)>Ni(II). These stably correspond to the strength of chelation between the metal ions and the primary and secondary ligands. A possible mechanism of the thermal decomposition of the complexes is suggested.  相似文献

Mixed-ligand complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Zn(II) with 8-hydroxyquinoline and thiophene-2-carboxylic acid as two different ligands, have been isolated in pure state. The formation of these complexes has been inferred potentiometrically. The isolated complexes have been characterized by their elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectra, conductivity and magnetic measurements. Solid state dehydration of the hydrated complexes and subsequent decomposition of the anhydrous complexes have been studied by simultaneous DTA and TG techniques. The thermal stability order of the hydrated compounds is Cu>Co>Ni>Zn, but in the decomposition process the trend observed is Co>Zn>Ni>Cu. Some parameters like activation energy and order of reaction for each process have been computed.  相似文献

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with 3-(2-pyridyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (PHPO), 3-(1-naphthyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (NHPO) and 3-(3,4-dimethoxy phenyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (DMPHPO) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, conductivity, thermal, magnetic, infrared, electronic and electron spin resonance data. Based on analytical data the stoichiometry of the complexes has been found to be 1 : 2. The conductivity data show that all these complexes are non-electrolytes. The infrared spectral data indicate that the ligand PHPO acts as uninegative tridentately towards Co(II) and Ni(II) and bidentately with Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II). Ligands like NHPO and DMPHPO act as uninegative bidentately with all the metal ions. The electronic spectral data suggest that all the Co(II) complexes and Ni(II) of PHPO complex are octahedral and all the Cu(II) and Ni(II) of NHPO and DMPHPO complex are square-planar. The complex of Zn(II) and Cd(II) are tetrahedral. ESR parameters of Cu(II) complexes have been calculated and relevant conclusions have been drawn with respect to the nature of bonds present in them.  相似文献

Cobalt (II), nickel (II), copper (II) and manganese (II) complexes of dihydrazone derived from the condensation of oxaloyldihydrazide with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde have been synthesized. The dihydrazone ligand/chelates were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses, spectral (UV–Vis., FT-IR, mass, 1H NMR), magnetism, thermal (TGA) measurements and structures of the compounds have been established. The surface morphology of the desired complexes was studied by SEM. The ligand is coordinated to the Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cu(II) centers in bi, tetra, penta and hexadentate way giving mono-nuclear complexes except in case of manganese and copper the bi-nuclear complexes were formed. The nickel complex has tetrahedral geometry while the other complexes are suggested to have octahedral configurations. The prepared samples have been assayed for their electrical activities. The electrical activity (DC and AC conductivity) for ligand and its metal complexes has been examined at different frequencies (1, 10, 100 kHz) in the temperature ranges 303–573 and 300–625 K, respectively. The DC and AC conductivity are viewed as thermally activated process at higher temperatures and a marked increment was seen in case of Mn(II) complex. The dielectric permittivity was determined in the temperature area of 300–625 K and diminished with augmentation of frequency proposing a typical behavior of dielectrics.  相似文献

A new series of complexes of 2-hydroxy-3,5-dimethyl acetophenone oxime (HDMAOX) with Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) have been prepared and characterized by different physical techniques. Infrared spectra of the complexes indicate deprotonation and coordination of the phenolic OH. It also confirms that nitrogen atom of the oximino group contributes to the complexation. Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal square planar geometry for Cu(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes and tetrahedral geometry for Co(II) complex. The elemental analyses and mass spectral data have justified the ML(2) composition of complexes. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters were computed from the thermal decomposition data using Coats and Redfern method. The geometry of the metal complexes has been optimized with the help of molecular modeling. The free ligand (HDMAOX) and its metal complexes have been tested in vitro against Alternarie alternate, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus nidulans and Aspergillus niger fungi and Streptococcus, Staph, Staphylococcus and Escherchia coli bacteria in order to assess their antimicrobial potential. The results indicate that the ligand and its metal complexes possess antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

The triethanolamine complexes, [M(tea)2]sq·nH2O, (n=2 for Co(II), n=0 for Ni(II), Cu(II) and n=1 for Cd(II), tea=triethanolamine, sq2−=squarate), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements, UV-Vis and IR spectra, and thermal analyses techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes possess octahedral geometry, while the Cd(II) complex is monocapped trigonal prismatic geometry. Dianionic squarate behaves as a counter ion in the complexes. The thermal decomposition of these complexes takes place in three stages: (i) dehydration, (ii) release of the tea ligands and (iii) burning of organic residue. On the basis of the first DTGmax of the decomposition, the thermal stability of the anhydrous complexes follows the order: Ni(II), 289°C>Co(II), 230°C>Cu(II), 226°C>Cu(II), 170°C in static air atmosphere. The final decomposition products — the respective metal oxides — were identified by FTIR spectroscopy.  相似文献

4-(1H-Pyrazolo (3,4-d) pyrimidin-4-ylazo) benzene-1,3-diol was synthesized and characterized by various spectral and analytical techniques. Semiempirical quantum calculations using the AM1 method have been performed in order to evaluate the geometry and electronic structure of the title azodye in the ground state. The complex formation between Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions and the title azodye was studied conductometrically and spectrophotometrically. The spectrophotometric determination of the title metal ions and titration using EDTA are reported. Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of the title azodye have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV-Vis and thermal analysis (TGA and DTA).The spectral and magnetic data suggested the octahedral geometry for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes while Cu(II) complexes have square planar geometry. The thermal studies confirmed the chemical formulations of the title complexes. The thermal degradation takes place in two or three steps depending on the type of the metal and the geometry of the complexes. The kinetics of the decomposition was examined by using Coats-Redfern relation. The activation energies and other activation parameters (DeltaH, DeltaS and DeltaG) were computed and related to the bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes.  相似文献

A number of complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Ru(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) with 2-methyl-3-(carboxy methyl) quinazolin (3H)-4-one (MCMQ) and 2-phenyl-3-(carboxy methyl) quinazolin (3H)-4-one (PCMQ) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, conductivity, thermal, magnetic, infrared, electronic, proton magnetic resonance and electron spin resonance spectral data. Based on analytical data, the stoichiometry and the association with other molecules of the complexes have been determined. Conductivity data show that all these complexes are nonelectrolytes. Infrared and PMR spectral data indicate that both the ligands are uninegative bidentate with all the metal ions. Based on electronic spectral data, the geometries of the complexes have been indicated. Electronic spectral parameters for Co(II) and Ni(II) and ESR parameters for Cu(II) complexes have been calculated and relevant conclusions have been drawn with respect to the nature of bonds present in them.  相似文献

The thermal properties of the Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes of iminodiacetic acid (H2IMDA) were determined using TG, DTG and DSC techniques. The complexes, of general formula, MIMDA-2H2O evolved water of hydration from 50 to 150°C which was followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous complex in the 250 to 400°C temperature range. The thermal stability, as determined by procedural decomposition temperatures, was: Ni(II) >Co(II) >Cu(II). The thermal stability is discussed in terms of IR spectra, ΔH, and ΔS, as well as thermal data.  相似文献

The electronic absorption spectra of 1-(4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin-2-ylazo)-naphthalen-2-ol is studied in organic solvents of different polarity as well as in buffer solutions of varying pH values at different temperatures and different ratios of methanol. The probable structure of the azodye has been assigned on the basis of spectral studies (IR and (1)H NMR). The effect of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions on the emission spectrum of the free azodye is also assigned. The stoichiometry of the metal complexes is determined spectrophotometrically and conductometrically. Novel complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with the pyrimidine azodye have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic as well as ESR spectral studies The thermal decomposition of the metal complexes is studied by TGA and DTA techniques. The kinetic parameters like activation energy, pre-exponential factor and entropy of activation are estimated.  相似文献
