Acidity constant values of benzoic acid (BA)-modified platinum electrode (Pt-BA) and p-aminobenzoic acid (pABA)-modified platinum electrode (Pt-NHBA) surfaces were determined using cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and contact angle measurements (CAM). Diazonium tetrafluoroborate salt reduction and pABA oxidation reactions were used to prepare (Pt-BA) and (Pt-NHBA) surfaces, respectively. Both surfaces exhibited pH dependence with [Fe(CN)6]3?/4? redox probe solutions at different pH; this allowed us to estimate the surface pK a values. Acidity constants for Pt-BA surface were found to be pK a (3.09 ± 0.25), (4.89 ± 0.11), and (3.91 ± 0.54) by CV, EIS, and CAM techniques, respectively, while the values for Pt-NHBA surface were pK a (3.16 ± 0.45), (4.24 ± 0.40), and (5.64 ± 0.12). The Pt-BA surface pK a values were lower in CV and CAM measurements relative to the bulk solution of BA, while a higher value was observed in EIS for Pt-BA surface. The pK a values determined for Pt-NHBA surface via both CV and EIS were lower than the bulk value; however, the result obtained from CAM was one unit higher than pK a of bulk pABA.  相似文献

The present work reports the redox mechanism of 5-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione (HND), commonly known as juglone, in buffered aqueous media having 50% of ethanol. HND followed different mechanistic routes depending upon the pH of the media and more than one pKa were evaluated from the changes in the slope of the Ep vs. pH plot. The change of pH from acidic to neutral conditions was found to switch the mechanism from CEC to EE mechanism. Pulse techniques were utilized to determine the number of electrons involved in the oxidation and/or the reduction step and to ensure the nature of the redox process. Based upon the obtained results, an electrode reaction mechanism was proposed. Computational studies of HND supported the experimental results. UV-Visible spectroscopy was also employed for the detailed characterization of the compound in a wide range of pH and for the determination of its pKa.  相似文献

The preparation and aqueous electrochemistry of carbon paste electrodes modified by some amino-substituted 9,10-anthraquinones are reported. In all cases, the reduction processes studied by cyclic voltammetry reveal a quasi-reversible behavior. The half-wave potentials were calculated as a function of the solution pH and from the resulting potential-pH plots the formal potentials and pK a values of different redox and acid-base couples involved at various pH ranges were evaluated. The diffusion coefficients of different anthraquinone derivatives used in paraffin oil were calculated by chronoamperometry. Received: 3 May 1999 / Accepted: 15 November 1999  相似文献

Glucose oxidase (GOx) from Penicillium funiculosum 46.1 was purified using step-by-step ultrafiltration and it was characterized by spectrophotometric and spectrofluorometric methods. It was shown that spectra of GOx produced by P. funiculosum are typical for flavoproteins. Absorption spectrum has distinct peaks at 380 and 457 nm, excitation spectrum at 373 and 447 nm, and emission spectrum at 530 and 562 nm. The pH correlation of enzyme activity and catalytic characteristics in various buffer systems (phosphate (pH 5.0–9.0), citrate (pH 3.0–5.0), citrate-phosphate (pH 3.0–9.0), and universal (pH 3.0–9.0)) were registered. It was determined that the GOx is the most efficiently interacting with substrate (glucose) in phosphate buffer at pH 7.0 with k cat/K m?=?21,825 M?1 s?1. Interaction of several different redox mediators (9,10-phenantroline-5,6-dione, 9,10-phenanthrenequinone, N-methylphenazonium methyl sulfate, ferrocene, ferrocenecarboxylic acid, α-methylferrocenemethanol, ferrocenecarboxaldehyde) with GOx from P. funiculosum was investigated by evaluation of the difference in fluorescence emission intensity of FAD(oxidized) and FADH2(reduced) forms. It was found that 9,10-phenantroline-5,6-dione and 9,10-phenanthrenequinone are the best redox mediators for this type of GOx.

In this present study, to determine paracetamol, an electroanalytical method is presented using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) at 3-amino-4H-1,2,4-triazole (3AT) coated glassy carbon (GC) electrode. The electrochemical characterization and electron transfer behavior of this prepared electrode in the mixture of K4[Fe(CN)6]/K3[Fe(CN)6] contains 0.1 M KCl was confirmed by using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe morphological structures of the bare and modified surfaces. The effect of pH was studied on the redox reaction of paracetamol in phosphate buffer in the range of pH 3.0–9.0. The limit of detection was 0.043 μM (3 s/m) for 3AT-GC electrode. The developed electrode was successfully utilized in pharmaceutical samples.  相似文献

4-Aminobenzoic acid (4-ABA) was covalently grafted on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by amine cation radical formation during the electrooxidation process in 0.1 M KCl aqueous solution. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurement proves the presence of 4-carboxylphenylamine on the GCE. Electron transfer processes of Fe(CN)63− in solutions of various pHs at the modified electrode are studied by both cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Changing the solution pH would result in the variation of the terminal group's charge state, based on which the surface pKa values were estimated. The copper hexacyanoferrate (CuHCF) multilayer films were formed on 4-ABA/GCE prepared in aqueous solution, and which exhibit good electrochemical behavior with high stability.  相似文献

Abstract

The mechanism of the electrochemical oxidation of p‐coumaric acid on a glassy carbon electrode was investigated using cyclic, differential pulse, and square wave voltammetry at different pHs. The oxidation of p‐coumaric acid is irreversible over the whole pH range. After successive scans, the p‐coumaric acid oxidation product deposits on the electrode surface, forming a polymeric film that undergoes reversible oxidation at a lower potential than p‐coumaric acid. This polymeric film increases in thickness with the number of scans, covering the electrode surface, and impeding the diffusion of the p‐coumaric acid and its oxidation on the electrode. The oxidation of p‐coumaric acid is pH dependent up until values close to the pKa. For pHs higher than pKa, the p‐coumaric acid oxidation process is pH independent. An electroanalytical determination procedure of p‐coumaric in pH 8.7 0.2 M ammonium buffer was developed, and a detection limit, LOD=83 nM, and the limit of quantification, LOQ=250 nM, were obtained.  相似文献

The acid—base equilibria in the mixed solvent, 80% dimethyl sulfoxide—water, have been investigated by potentiometric measurements with a glass—silver—silver chloride electrode couple. The response of the glass electrode is quick and reproducible over the whole pH scale. The autoprotolysis constant (itKSH) of the mixed solvent has been determined; the value obtained, pKSH = 18.40, agrees well with reported data. The pKa values of the following aliphatic monocarboxylic acids are reported: formic, acetic, propionic, n-butyric, iso-butyric, n-valeric, iso-valeric, capric, pentadecanoic, stearic, monochloroacetic. The mixed solvent offers better titration conditions than water for the determination of these acids.  相似文献

Although a previous study [S.S.M. Hassan, M.A. Ahmed, M.M. Saoudi, Anal. Chem. 57 (1985) 1126] had shown that a caffeine-sensitive electrode made with picrylsulfonate and 1-octanol as a cation-exchanger and a solvent mediator, respectively, had a wide working pH range (5.5–9.5) and exhibited a Nernstian response, we could not find such response in this electrode. The present result was reasonable, because the pKa value of caffeinium ion was reported to be around 0.7 and the neutral form of caffeine was predominant in the pH range examined. Thus, we reinvestigated the response characteristics of a caffeine electrode, taking into consideration the pKa value, and constructed a new electrode with a combination of the lipophilic cation-exchanger, tetrakis[3,5-bis(2-methoxyhexafluoro-2-propyl)phenyl]borate (HFPB), and the solvent mediator with high degree of dielectric constant, 2-fluoro-2′-nitrodiphenyl ether (FNDPE). This electrode showed a pH-dependent response to caffeinium ion and gave a detection limit of 50 μM with a slope of 55 mV per concentration decade at pH 2. The use of other solvent mediators was less effective than that of FNDPE. The electrode was applied for the determination of caffeine in some central stimulants.  相似文献

Three strategies have been compared to produce screen-printed amperometric detectors for NADH: mixing Meldola Blue (MB) in the screen-printing ink, incorporation of MB-Reinecke salt (MBRS) in the graphite ink and electrodeposition of films of MB-derived polymer (poly (MB)) on electrode surface. Following modification of graphite electrodes the mediators displayed values of the formal potential E°′ from −0.129 to −0.160 V vs. Ag/AgCl and pKas of 5.09-6.02. A second redox couple with E°′=−0.450 V vs. Ag/AgCl was observed in cyclic voltammetry experiments with poly (MB) sensors or with old electrodes obtained according to the other two strategies. Electropolymerisation of MB allowed to achieve the best operational stability and best detection limit, 2×10−6 M, for amperometric detection of NADH, while the most extended linear range, 1×10−5-7.5×10−4 M, corresponds to sensors with MBRS. MB and MBRS electrodes were compared with a similar NADH detector produced by Gwent Electronic Materials, England. Several characteristics of the modified-electrodes induced by the fabrication by screen-printing were also highlighted.  相似文献

A new grafted polymer electrode (GPE) (polystyrene as polymer) was grafted with acrylonitrile as a monomer using gamma irradiation to produce a new grafted polymer. The redox process of K3Fe(CN)6 during cyclic voltammetry was studied by the new GPE. The ratio of Ipc/Ipa >1 of GPE to GCE Ipc/Ipa = 1.7, indicating that this electrode is a reversible electrode and can be used in conductivity studies by voltammetric analysis. The physical properties of the new electrode GP have good hardness, insolubility, and stability at different high temperatures and at different pH. Also, the sensitivity under conditions of cyclic voltammetry is significantly dependent on pH, electrolyte, and scan rate. At different scan rates, two oxidation peaks and two reduction peaks of Fe(III) were observed in a reversible process: Fe(III) Fe(II), and Fe(II) Fe(0). Interestingly, the redox reaction of Fe(III) solution using GPE remained constant even after 15 cycles. It is therefore evident that the GPE possesses some degree of stability. The potential use of the grafted polymer as a useful electrode material is therefore clearly evident.  相似文献

Sulfasalazine (SSZ) is a pharmaceutical compound used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. The electrochemical oxidation of SSZ at a glassy carbon electrode was studied by cyclic, differential pulse and square wave voltammetry in a wide pH range. For electrolytes with pH<11.0, the oxidation is an irreversible, diffusion‐control, pH‐dependent process that involves the transfer of one electron and one proton from the hydroxyl group of the salicylic moiety. For pH>11.0 the oxidation is pH‐independent, and a pKa≈11 was determined. The formation of a quinone‐like oxidation product that undergoes two electrons and two protons reversible redox reaction was observed. Also, UV‐vis spectra of SSZ were recorded as a function of supporting electrolytes pH. An electrochemical oxidation mechanism was proposed.  相似文献

A sensitive voltammetric technique has been developed for the determination of Fludarabine using amine‐functionalized multi walled carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrode (NH2‐MWCNTs/GCE). Molecular dynamics simulations, an in silico technique, were employed to examine the properties including chemical differences of Fludarabine‐ functionalized MWCNT complexes. The redox behavior of Fludarabine was examined by cyclic, differential pulse and square wave voltammetry in a wide pH range. Cyclic voltammetric investigations emphasized that Fludarabine is irreversibly oxidized at the NH2‐MWCNTs/GCE. The electrochemical behavior of Fludarabine was also studied by cyclic voltammetry to evaluate both the kinetic (ks and Ea) and thermodynamic (ΔH, ΔG and ΔS) parameters on NH2‐MWCNTs/GCE at several temperatures. The mixed diffusion‐adsorption controlled electrochemical oxidation of Fludarabine revealed by studies at different scan rates. The experimental parameters, such as pulse amplitude, frequency, deposition potential optimized for square‐wave voltammetry. Under optimum conditions in phosphate buffer (pH 2.0), a linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 2×10?7 M–4×10?6 M solution using adsorptive stripping square wave voltammetry. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were calculated 2.9×10?8 M and 9.68×10?8 M, respectively. The developed method was applied to the simple and rapid determination of Fludarabine from pharmaceutical formulations.  相似文献

Gold electrode surface is modified via covalent attachment of a synthesized thiol functionalized with 8-hydroxyquinoline, p-((8-hydroxyquinoline)azo) benzenethiol (SHQ), for the first time. The behavior of the nanostructured electrode surface (Au–SHQ) is characterized by electrochemical techniques including cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (CV and DPV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The modified surface is stable in a wide range of potentials and pHs. A surface pKa of 6.0 ± 0.1 is obtained for Au–SHQ electrode using surface acid/base titration curves constructed by CV and EIS measurements as a function of pH. These results helped to determine the charge state of the surface as a function of pH. The gold modified electrode surface showed good affinity for sensing the Al(III) ion at pH 5.5. The sensing process is based on (i) accumulation and complex formation between Al(III) from the solution phase and 8HQ function on the Au electrode surface (recognition step) and (ii) monitoring the impedance of the Au–SHQ–Al(III) complex against redox reaction rate of parabenzoquinone (PBQ) (signal transduction step). The PBQ is found to be a more suitable probe for this purpose, after testing several others. Thus, the sensor was tested for quantitative determination of Al(III) from the solution phase. At the optimized conditions, a linear response, from 1.0 × 10−11 to 1.2 × 10−5 M Al(III) in semi-logarithmic scale, with a detection limit of 8.32 × 10−12 M and mean relative standard deviation of 3.2% for n = 3 at 1.0 × 10−7 M Al(III) is obtained. Possible interferences from coexisting cations and anions are also studied. The results show that many ions do not interfere significantly with the sensor response for Al(III). Validity of the method and applicability of the sensor are successfully tested by determination of Al(III) in human blood serum samples.  相似文献

A simple and eco-friendly electrochemical method to reduce graphene oxide precursor was employed for fabrication of graphene sheets modified glassy carbon electrode, and then, the resulting electrode [electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO)/glassy carbon electrode (GCE)] was used to determine p-aminophenol. The experimental results demonstrated that the modified electrode exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the redox of p-aminophenol as evidenced by the significant enhancement of redox peak currents and the decreased peak-to-peak separation in comparison with a bare GCE. A highly sensitive and selective voltammetry determination of p-aminophenol is developed using the ERGO/GCE. This method has been applied for the direct determination of p-aminophenol in artificial wastewater.  相似文献

A novel nitrite biosensor was constructed by simultaneous immobilization of hemoglobin (Hb) and a room temperature ionic liquid, octylpyridinium chloride ([OcPy][Cl]), on multi-walled carbon ionic liquid electrode (MWILE). The direct electron transfer of Hb showed a pair of redox peaks with a formal potential of ?0.187 V vs. Ag/AgCl in pH 5.0 acetate buffer solution. Nitrite (NO2 ?) catalysis on the modified electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and amperometry. The biosensor exhibited a wide linear range for NO2 ? detection from 0.01 to 15 mM, with a detection limit (3σ) of 1.46 μM. MWILE provided an excellent matrix for protein immobilization and biosensor fabrication which could be used for the determination of NO2 ? with a low detection limit, fast response, long linearity, and excellent sensitivity.  相似文献

A p‐chloranil modified carbon paste electrode was constructed and the electrochemical behavior of this electrode was studied in the aqueous solution with different pH. From the E1/2–pH diagram for this compound the values of formal potential E0' and pKa of some different redox and acid‐base couples depending on the solution pH were estimated. The diffusion coefficient, D, value for p‐chloranil was estimated 1.5×10?7 cm2 s?1. It has been shown by direct current cyclic voltammetry and double potential step chronoamperometry, that this p‐chloranil incorporated carbon paste electrode, can catalyze the oxidation of ascorbic acid in the aqueous buffered solution. Under the optimum condition (pH 7.00), the oxidation of ascorbic acid at the surface of such an electrode occurs at a potential about 325 mV less positive than that at an unmodified carbon past electrode. The catalytic oxidation peak currents was linearly dependent on the ascorbic acid concentration and a linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 7×10?5 M–4×10?3 M of ascorbic acid with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998. The limit of detection (3σ) was determined as 3.5×10 ?5 M. This method was used as simple, selective and precise voltammetric method for determination of ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

In this study, a grafted polymer (GP) with ZnO nanoparticles (GP/ZnO NPs) was attached on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE), in order to produce a new modified electrode (GP/ZnO NPs-GCE). The gamma irradiation method was used to grafted polystyrene (polymer) with acrylonitrile (monomer), while slow evaporation process was used to prepare the new modified electrode. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) of K4[Fe(CN)6] was used to study the electrochemical properties GP/ZnO NPs-GCE. The peak separation (ΔEpa-c) was 500 mV between the redox peaks of Fe(II)/Fe(III) in an aqueous solution of 1 M KCl and the current ratio of redox current peaks (Ipa/Ipc) was ≈ 1 for the modified electrode. This indicated that the modified electrode has s good reversibility and conductivity, wherefore; it was applied in the voltammetric filed. It was found that the modified electrode GP/ZnO NPs-GCE have a reasonable solubility and stability at various pH medium. Additionally, the sensitivity of the electrochemical analysis by cyclic voltammetric (CV) method is extensively subjected to the pH medium and the scan rate (SR). A couple of redox current peaks of K4[Fe(CN)6] in KCl solution was observed with a reversible process: Fe3+/Fe2+. Finally a good diffusion coefficient of electroactive species (D) for the new modified electrode was found in this study by chronoamperometry method using Cottrell equation.  相似文献

The quantitative determination of boldine alkaloid in boldo leaf extracts by employing cyclic voltammetry, at a liquid/liquid interface as well as the validation of this methodology against the reference method, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), are reported in the present paper. The voltammetric analysis was performed successfully and economically using two kinds of liquid/liquid interfaces: water/1,2-dicholoroethane and water/PVC (polyvinyl chloride)-gelled 1,2-dichloroethane. Linear calibration curves in the concentration range of 1.04 × 10−5 mol L−1 to 5.19 × 10−4 mol L−1 were obtained with a detection limit equal to (6.1 ± 0.7) × 10−5 mol L−1 and the quantitative determination of this alkaloid, in complex matrixes such as boldo leaf extracts, by the electrochemical technique proposed was found to be equal to the values obtained using the standard HPLC method. The validation analysis of this methodology against HPLC demonstrated that accuracy, linearity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), specificity and precision are acceptable. The electroanalytical technique proposed is economical and selective, involves simple equipment and can be applied for the quantitative determination of boldine alkaloid in complex matrixes such as leaf extracts without special drug separation. Moreover, cyclic voltammetry (CV) experiments applied at the liquid/liquid interface under different experimental conditions allowed us to study the transfer mechanism of boldine, and determine a value of pKaw = 6.90 for protonated boldine, from the variation of voltammetric peak current with pH.  相似文献
