This study investigates the electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose and some other carbohydrates on nickel/poly(o‐aminophenol) modified carbon paste electrode as an enzyme free electrode in alkaline solution. Poly(o‐aminophenol) was prepared by electropolymerization using a carbon paste electrode bulk modified with o‐aminophenol and continuous cyclic voltammetry in HClO4 solution. Then Ni(II) ions were incorporated to electrode by immersion of the polymeric modified electrode having amine group in 1 M Ni(II) ion solution. Cyclic voltammetric and chronoamperometric experiments were used for the electrochemical study of this modified electrode; a good redox behavior of Ni(OH)2/NiOOH couple at the surface of electrode can be observed, the capability of this modified electrode for catalytic oxidation of glucose and other carbohydrates was demonstrated. The amount of α and surface coverage (Γ*) of the redox species and catalytic chemical reaction rate constant (k) for each carbohydrate were calculated. Also, the electrocatalytic oxidation peak currents of all tested carbohydrates exhibit a good linear dependence on concentration and their quantification can be done easily.  相似文献

In this paper, a WS2 nanosheet was modified on the surface of a carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE), and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was further fixed on the electrode with a Nafion film. Direct electrochemistry and bioelectrocatalysis of HRP incorporated on the modified electrode were investigated in detail. On Nafion/HRP/WS2/CILE, a pair of well‐defined quasi‐reversible redox peaks appeared on the cyclic voltammogram, indicating that the presence of the WS2 nanosheet on the electrode surface could provide a specific interface with large surface area for HRP and its direct electron transfer rate was greatly enhanced. The formal potential (E0) obtained was –0.179 V, which was the typical feature of heme Fe(III)/Fe(II) in HRP. The electron transfer coefficient (α) and the heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant (ks) of HRP were calculated as 0.44 and 1.01 s–1, respectively. This HRP‐modified electrode showed excellent electrocatalytic activity for the reduction of trichloroacetic acid and NaNO2 with a wide linear range and low detection limit. Real samples were detected by this proposed method, indicating the successful fabrication of a new third‐generation electrochemical enzyme sensor utilizing the WS2 nanosheet.  相似文献

Gold electrodes were modified with submonolayers of 3‐mercaptopropionic acid and further reacted with poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers to obtain thin films. The high affinity of PAMAM dendrimer for nano‐Au with its amine groups was used to realize the role of nano‐Au as an intermediator to immobilize the enzyme of tyrosinase. The characterization of the modified electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Tyrosinase can catalyze the oxidation of catechol to o‐benzoquinone. When penicillamine was added to the solution, it reacted with o‐benzoquinone to form the corresponding thioquinone derivatives, which resulted in decrease of the reduction current of o‐benzoquinone. Based on this, a new electrochemical sensor for determination of penicillamine has been developed.  相似文献

In this work, an novel electrochemical‐chemical‐chemical (ECC) redox cycle was designed in an enzyme‐based sensor for acquiring additional signal amplification. The tyrosinase (Tyr) was entrapped in a sulfonated polyaniline?chitosan (SPAN?CS) composite which was used as a redox capacitor on a glass carbon electrode. Firstly, the substrate, phenol was catalyzed to catechol and further catalyzed to o‐benzoquinone by Tyr. Next, in the presence of Ru(NH3)6Cl2, the reduced state of SPAN(SPANred) was reacted with o‐benzoquinone to form it's oxidized state (SPANox) and catechol, then SPANox was reduced back to SPANred by Ru(II) in the solution. Finally, the amplified anodic current of catechol was obtained on electrode through above ECC redox cycle system. In addition, the ECC redox cycling led to a high signal‐to‐background ratio. The voltammetric response showed excellent analytical performance to phenol over two linear range of 3.5 to 200.0 nmol L?1 and 200.0 to 2000.0 nmol L?1 with a high sensitivity of 2204 μA mM?1. The detection limit was obtained to be 0.8 nmol L?1 (S/N=3). Furthermore, the proposed approach exhibited good repeatability, stability and specificity, and could offer practicality in the detection of phenol in tap water.  相似文献

A new carbon ionic liquid paste bioelectrode was fabricated by mixing hemoglobin (Hb) with graphite powder, ionic liquid 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIMBF4) and liquid paraffin homogeneously. Nafion film was cast on the electrode surface to improve the stability of bioelectrode. Direct electrochemistry of Hb in the bioelectrode was carefully investigated. Cyclic voltammetric results indicated that a pair of well‐defined and quasi‐reversible electrochemical responses appeared in pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solution (PBS), indicating that direct electron transfer of Hb was realized in the modified electrode. The formal potential (E0′) was calculated as ?0.316 V (vs. SCE), which was the typical characteristic of the electrochemical reaction of heme Fe(III)/Fe(II) redox couple. Based on the cyclic voltammetric results the electrochemical parameters of the electrode reaction were calculated. This bioelectrode showed high electrocatalytic activity towards the reduction of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) with good stability and reproducibility.  相似文献

We report a simple and effective strategy for fabrication of the nanocomposite containing chitosan (CS) and multiwall carbon nanotube (MWNT) coated on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The characterization of the modified electrode (CS‐MWNT/GC) was carried out using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. The electrochemical behavior of CS‐MWNT/GC electrode was investigated and compared with the electrochemical behavior of chitosan modified GC (CS/GC), multiwalled carbon nanotube modified GC (MWNT/GC) and unmodified GC using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electron impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The chitosan films are electrochemically inactive; similar background charging currents are observed at bare GC. The chitosan films are permeable to anionic Fe(CN)63?/4? (FC) redox couple. Electrochemical parameters, including apparent diffusion coefficient for the Fe(CN)63?/4? redox probe at FC/CS‐MWNT/GC electrode is comparable to values reported for cast chitosan films. This modified electrode also showed electrocatalytic effect for the simultaneous determination of D‐penicillamine (D‐PA) and tryptophan (Trp). The detection limit of 0.9 μM and 4.0 μM for D‐PA and Trp, respectively, makes this nanocomposite very suitable for determination of them with good sensitivity.  相似文献

In this study, we describe the use of the combination of eletrografting poly(N‐mercaptoethyl acrylamide) and Au nanoparticles in the construction of high‐performance biosensors. The poly(N‐mercaptoethyl acrylamide) was electrografted onto the glassy carbon electrode surface, which provided a strongly adhering primer film for the stable attachment of Au nanoparticles and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) enzymes. The performances of the biosensors based on the HRP immobilized in the Au/poly(N‐mercaptoethyl acrylamide) composite film were investigated. A couple of redox peaks were obtained, indicating that the Au nanoparticles could facilitate the direct‐electron transfer between HRP and the underlying electrode. The biosensor showed an excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the reduction of hydrogen oxide and long‐term stability, owing to the stable electrografted film and biocompatible Au nanoparticles. Our results demonstrate that the combination of electrografting and Au nanoparticles provides a promising platform for the immobilization of biomolecules and analysis of redox enzymes for their sensing applications.  相似文献

A new composite film of microbial exocellular polysaccharide‐gellan gum (GG) and hydrophilic room temperature ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methyl‐imidazolium tetrafluoroborate (BMIMBF4) was firstly used as an immobilization matrix to entrap horseradish peroxidase (HRP), and its properties were studied by UV/vis spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that BMIMBF4 could promote the electron transfer between HRP and electrode surface, and the existence of GG could successfully immobilize BMIMBF4 on the electrode surface with improved stability. HRP–BMIMBF4–GG/GCE exhibited a pair of well‐defined and quasireversible cyclic voltammetric peaks in 0.1 M pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solutions at 1.8 V/s, which was the characteristic of HRP Fe(III)/Fe(II) redox couples. The formal potentials (E°′) was ?0.368 V (vs. SCE) and the peak‐to‐peak potential separation (ΔEP) was 0.058 V. The peak currents were five times as large as those of HRP–GG/GCE. The average surface coverage (Γ*) and the apparent Michaelis‐Menten constant (Km) were 4.5×10?9 mol/cm2 and 0.67 μM, respectively. The electron transfer rate constant was estimated to be 15.8 s?1. The proposed electrode showed excellent electrocatalytic activity towards hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The linear dynamic range for the detection of H2O2 was 0.05–0.5 μM with a correlation coefficient of 0.9945 and the detection limit was estimated at about 0.02 μM (S/N=3). BMIMBF4–GG composite film was promising to immobilize other redox enzymes or proteins and attain their direct electrochemistry.  相似文献

This paper reports sensitive phenol detection using (i) tyrosinase (Tyr)‐based oxidation of phenol to catechol, combined with (ii) electrochemical‐chemical‐chemical (ECC) redox cycling involving Ru(NH3)63+, catechol, and tris(2‐carboxyethyl)phosphine (TCEP). Phenol is converted into catechol by Tyr in the presence of dissolved O2. Catechol then reacts with Ru(NH3)63+, generating o‐benzoquinone and Ru(NH3)62+. o‐Benzoquinone is reduced back to catechol by TCEP, and Ru(NH3)62+ is accumulated over the course of the incubation. When Ru(NH3)62+ is electrochemically oxidized to Ru(NH3)63+, ECC redox cycling occurs. For simple phenol detection, bare ITO electrodes are used without modifying the electrodes with Tyr. The detection limit for phenol in tap water using Tyr‐based oxidation combined with ECC redox cycling is ca. 10?9 M, while that using only Tyr‐based oxidation is ca. 10?7 M.  相似文献

An investigation into the redox behaviour of 4‐ferrocenylcatechol bound to nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes identified a limitation to the use of catechol as an electron‐transfer facilitating anchoring group. 4‐Ferrocenylcatechol was adsorbed to transparent nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes. UV–visible spectra of the modified electrode were recorded in an acetonitrile‐electrolyte solution. At an applied potential of + 0.45 mV (vs Ag/AgCl/Cl?) the ferrocenyl group oxidized to the ferrocenium cation and the catecholate group oxidized to the benzoquinone form. Subsequent application of a potential of 0 V reduced the ferrocenium to ferrocene but, owing to the irreversibility of the catechol oxidation in aprotic solvents, benzoquinone is not reduced to catecholate and subsequently desorbs and is lost due into solution. Electrochromic switching of the ferrocenyl electrochromophore on TiO2 with aprotic electrolyte is, therefore, irreversible. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Electrochemical preparation of poly(nickel tetrakis(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphyrin) tetratosylate (poly-Ni(4-TMPyP)) produces stable and electrochemically active films in strong and weak basic aqueous solutions. These films were produced on glassy carbon and gold electrodes. The electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance and cyclic voltammetry were used to study the in situ growth of poly(Ni(4-TMPyP)) films. The electrochemical properties of poly(Ni(4-TMPyP)) films indicate that the redox process was confined in to the immobilized film. The electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance results showed an ion exchange reaction for the redox couple. The polymer films showed one new redox couple when transferred to strong and weak basic aqueous solutions and the formal potential was found to be pH dependent. The electrocatalytic oxidation of H2O by a nickel tetrakis(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphyrin film-modified electrode was also performed. The mechanism of oxygen evolution was determined by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and rotating ring disc electrode methods. The oxygen evolution was determined by a bicatalyst system using hemoglobin, and iron tetrakis (N-methyl-2-pyridyl)porphyrin as catalyst to detect the oxygen by electrocatalytic reduction. The electrocatalytic oxidations of adenine, guanine, H2O2, N2H4, NH2OH, and l-cysteine by the film-modified electrode obtained from water-soluble nickel porphyrin were also investigated.  相似文献

Poly(o‐anisidine) (POA) was formed by successive cyclic voltammetry in monomer solution containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) at the surface of carbon paste electrode. Then Ni(II) ions were incorporated to electrode by immersion of the polymeric modified electrode having amine group in 0.1 M Ni(II) ion solution. Cyclic voltammetric and chronoamperometric experiments were used for the electrochemical study of this modified electrode; a good redox behavior of Ni(OH)2/NiOOH couple at the surface of electrode can be observed. The capability of this modified electrode for catalytic oxidation of folic acid was demonstrated. The amount of α and surface coverage (Γ*) of the redox species and catalytic chemical reaction rate constant (k) for folic acid oxidation were calculated. The catalytic oxidation peak current of folic acid was linearly dependent on its concentration and a linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 0.1 to 5 mM with a correlation coefficient of 0.9994. The limit of detection (3σ) was determined as 0.091 mM. This electrocatalytic oxidation was used as simple, selective and precise voltammetric method for determination of folic acid in pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

Electrochemical oxidation of catechol has been studied in the presence of secondary amines as nucleophiles in aqueous solution with various pH values using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. Cyclic voltammetry of catechol in pure buffered solution (2.00 pH<9.00) shows one anodic and corresponding cathodic peak which relates to the transformation of catechol to corresponding o‐benzoquinone and vice versa within a quasi‐reversible two electron transfer process. Also, a little amount of o‐benzoquinone undergoes polymerization reaction. Cyclic voltammogram of catechol in the presence of nucleophilic amines, show one anodic peak in the first scan of potential but on the reverse scan the corresponding cathodic peak disappear and new peak is observed at less positive potential. In the second scan of potential also a new anodic peak is observed. On the other hand at high concentration of amines the redox peak attributable to formed polymer disappear showing that in this condition the polymerization reaction occurs at non‐measurable extent. On the basis of these observations we propose an ECE mechanism for the electrochemical oxidation of catechol in the presence of secondary amines.  相似文献

Cuprous oxide nanowhisker was prepared by using cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CATB) as soft template, and was characterized by XRD and TEM methods. The electrochemical properties of nano‐Cu2O and nano‐Cu2O‐methylene blue (MB) modified electrode were studied. The experimental results indicate that nano‐Cu2O shows a couple of redox peaks corresponding to the redox of Cu(II)/Cu(I), the peak currents are linear to the scan rates which demonstrate that the electrochemical response of Cu2O is surface‐controlled. The composite nano‐Cu2O‐Nafion‐MB modified electrode shows a trend of decrease of peak currents corresponding to the Cu (II)/Cu (I). However, the electrocatalytic ability of nano‐Cu2O‐MB composite film to dopamine increases dramatically. At this composite electrode, dopamine shows a couple of quasireversible redox peaks with a peak separation of 106 mV, the peak current increases about 8 times and the oxidation peak potential decreases about 200 mV as compared to that at bare glassy carbon electrode. The peak currents change linearly with concentration of dopamine from 1×10?7 to 3.2×10?4 mol/L, the detection limit is 4.6×10?8 mol/L. The composite electrode can effectively eliminate the interference of ascorbic acid and has better stability and excellent reproducibility.  相似文献

Cobalt oxide nanostructure (CoOxNS) deposited on the glassy carbon (GC) electrode surface is proposed as a novel electrocatalytic system for the reduction of para‐Nitrophenol. Cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used for characterization of deposited CoOxNS. CoOxNS deposited by cycling at positive potentials (0 to +1.3 V) show less charge‐transfer resistance (Rct) and more catalytic activity for the electroreduction of p‐nitrophenol compared to those CoOxNS obtained by scanning the applied potential throughout a negative V range. The GC/CoOxNS electrode showed good electrocatalytic activity toward the reduction of p‐nitrophenol at different pH values.  相似文献

The poly(m‐toluidine) film was prepared by using the repeated potential cycling technique in an acidic solution at the surface of carbon paste electrode. Then transition metal ions of Ni(II) were incorporated to the polymer by immersion of the modified electrode in a 0.2 M NiSO4, also the electrochemical characterization of this modified electrode exhibits stable redox behavior of the Ni(III)/Ni(II) couple. The electrocatalytic ability of Ni(II)/poly(m‐toluidine)/modified carbon paste electrode (Ni/PMT/MCPE) was demonstrated by electrocatalytic oxidation of hydrogen peroxide with cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry methods in the alkaline solution. The effects of scan rate and hydrogen peroxide concentration on the anodic peak height of hydrogen peroxide oxidation were also investigated. The catalytic oxidation peak current showed two linear ranges with different slopes dependent on the hydrogen peroxide concentration and the lower detection limit was 6.5 μM (S/N=3). The catalytic reaction rate constant, (kh), was calculated 5.5×102 M?1 s?1 by the data of chronoamperometry. This modified electrode has many advantages such as simple preparation procedure, good reproducibility and high catalytic activity toward the hydrogen peroxide oxidation. This method was also applied as a simple method for routine control and can be employed directly without any pretreatment or separation for analysis cosmetics products.  相似文献

Based on electrostatic interaction and electrodeposition, poly‐anionic deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), room temperature ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methyl‐imidazolium tetrafluoroborate (BMIMBF4), hemoglobin (Hb) and Poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) were successfully assembled into Hb/IL/DNA/PDDA layer‐by‐layer complex films on the surface of ITO electrode. FTIR spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) were used to characterize the composite film. The obtained results demonstrated that the Hb molecule in the film kept its native structure and showed its good electrochemical behavior. A pair of well‐defined redox peaks of Hb with the formal potentials (E°′) of ?0.180 V (vs. SCE) was appeared in phosphate buffer solution (PBS, pH 7.0). The Hb/IL/DNA/PDDA/ITO modified electrode also showed an excellent electrocatalytic behavior to the reduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Therefore, the IL/DNA/PDDA complex film as a novel matrix open up a possibility for further study on the direct electrochemistry of other proteins and the fabrication of the third‐generation electrochemical biosensors.  相似文献

Oxidative polymerization of bromoiron(III) meso‐tetrakis(3‐thienyl)porphyrin gave a novel polymeric porphyrin complex randomly crosslinked at the 2,5‐positions of the peripheral thienyl groups. The electrical semiconductivity of ca. 10?5 S/cm after I2 doping indicated that the polymer had a π‐conjugated structure with a moderate delocalization of π electrons over the thienylporphyrin units. PM3 calculations for free‐base models revealed that HOCO (the highest occupied crystal orbital) band width was reduced by introduction of the porphyrin moieties into the thienylene backbone and yet low HOCO‐LUCO (the lowest unoccupied crystal orbital) gap was maintained, which accounted for the relatively low electrical conductivity of the porphyrin polymer. The modified electrode prepared by electropolymerization was redox‐active due to the presence of iron(II/III) couple and the semiconductivity of the film, which served as a novel non‐enzymatic electrochemical sensor for superoxide anion radical based on the facile electrocatalytic oxidation of the superoxide. A glassy carbon (GC) electrode modified with silver pentacyanonitrosylferrate (AgPCNF) film as a redox mediator was fabricated. Cyclic voltammetry was used to study the redox property of AgPCNF modified electrode. The modified electrode showed a well‐defined redox couple due to [AgIFeIII/II(CN)5NO]1‐/2‐system. The effects of scan rates, supporting electrolytes and solution pHs were studied on the electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode. The feasibility of using the AgPCNF modified electrode to measure L ‐cysteine was investigated. It showed an excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of L ‐cysteine and the anodic currents were proportional to the L ‐cysteine concentration in the range of 0.1 μM to 20 μM, the linear regression equation is Ipa(μA) = ‐68.58 ‐ 5.78CL ‐cysteine (μM), with a correlation coefficient 0.998 for N = 23. The detection limit was down to 3.5 × 10‐8 M (three times the ratio of signal to noise).  相似文献
