Among electrochemical detection methods in capillary electrophoresis, conductometric methods are of specific interest for the determination of inorganic species. This is due to the fact that inorganic ions exhibit a high equivalent conductivity which corresponds to the analytical signal in conductivity detection. Indirect optical absorption methods, which are widely used in capillary electrophoretic ion analyses, become less sensitive with smaller capillary dimensions and thus have disadvantages in electrokinetic chip separation technologies.Conductivity detection for capillary electrophoresis is performed either through galvanic contact or in a contactless mode. Techniques using a galvanic contact of the sample ions with the measuring electrode are performed either on-capillary without decoupling of the separation high voltage, or off-capillary after grounding the separation voltage in order to avoid interferences. This technology is specifically important when a suppressor is used prior to detection. Most contactless methods use oscillometric techniques in order to obtain the analytical signal.This review discusses the theoretical and instrumental background of conductivity detection in capillary electrophoresis and reports on recent aspects and applications using conductometric detection methods for capillary zone electrophoresis.  相似文献

Selenium is an essential element for the normal cellular function of living organisms. However, selenium is toxic at concentrations of only three to five times higher than the essential concentration. The inorganic forms (mainly selenite and selenate) present in environmental water generally exhibit higher toxicity (up to 40 times) than organic forms. Therefore, the determination of low levels of different inorganic selenium species in water is an analytical challenge. Solid-phase extraction has been used as a separation and/or preconcentration technique prior to the determination of selenium species due to the need for accurate measurements for Se species in water at extremely low levels. The present paper provides a critical review of the published methods for inorganic selenium speciation in water samples using solid phase extraction as a preconcentration procedure. On the basis of more than 75 references, the different speciation strategies used for this task have been highlighted and classified. The solid-phase extraction sorbents and the performance and analytical characteristics of the developed methods for Se speciation are also discussed.  相似文献

The nondestructive and destructive methods of analysis are compared, and their advantages and disadvantages are specified. Inorganic arsenic, a term which encompasses both As (III) and As (V) species, constitutes the highest toxicological risk associated with arsenic in water in contrast to the organic arsenic species. Different determination methods of inorganic arsenic have been developed over 40 years providing timely and efficient risk assessments of inorganic arsenic contamination world wide. The current report gives an overview of more than 100 papers, regarding existing methods for analysis of As (III) and As (V) in water, including various spectroscopic, ICP and electrochemical techniques. The techniques of ion chromatography and capillary electrophoresis are compared as analytical methods for the determination of inorganic anions and cations. Comparison is made in the areas of stage of development, separation efficiency, separation selectivity, analytical performance parameters, method development procedures, applications, strenghts and weaknesses, and future directions. Methods of preparation of granules of inorganic ion exchangers as well as methods for improvement of granular strength of these materials are reviewed. The resulting ion exchangers are classified in three groups—“intrinsic”, supported and composite ion exchangers. Their properties are compared and possibilities of their technological application are evaluated. A new method of preparation of inorganic-organic composite sorbents of inorganic ion-exchangers and polyacrylonitrile binding matrix is described, advantages and disadvantages of such sorbents are discussed. Proposed fields of application include tratment of liquid radioactive and/or hazardous wastes, decontamination of natural water as well as analytical applications.  相似文献

Determination of inorganic phosphate is of very high importance in environmental and health care applications. Hence knowledge of suitable analytical techniques available for phosphate sensing for different applications becomes essential. Electrochemical methods for determining inorganic phosphate have several advantages over other common techniques, including detection selectivity, stability and relative environmental insensitivity of electroactive labels. The different electrochemical sensing strategies adopted for the determination of phosphate using selective ionophores are discussed in this review. The various sensing strategies are classified based on the electrochemical detection techniques used viz., potentiometry, voltammetry, amperometry, unconventional electrochemical methods etc., The enzymatic sensing of phosphate coupled with electrochemical detection is also included. Various electroanalytical methods available in the literature are assessed for their merits in terms of selectivity, simplicity, miniaturisation, adaptability and suitability for field measurements.  相似文献

The current review aims at a comprehensive survey of analytical methods for the determination of dithiocarbamates (DTCs) in environmental and pharmaceutical samples. Besides parent compounds, analytical approaches for various metabolites and degradation products of DTCs are considered. Special emphasis is given to analyte stability as DTCs are considerably reactive interacting with various organic and inorganic compounds; in addition, depending on the chemical nature of the substance, DTCs are prone to oxidation and hydrolysis under alkaline and acidic conditions, respectively. A review is given of the latest papers on the application of the spectral-isotopic method of determination of gas-forming impurities in organic and inorganic materials. Main attention is paid to a new kind of investigation, i.e. the development of spectroscopic methods for isotopic analyses of nitrogen, carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen in biological objects for use in analytical monitoring in biological experiments with “tracers”. A universal method is described for the preparation of natural samples, for the separation of the gases to be analyzed from the sample, and for their purification from the impurities. The main characteristics are given of the methods for individual determination of the above elements and for joint analyses of some elements (N15-C13-H2) in one analytical cycle (spectrum excitation conditions, isotope concentration calculations, etc.). The characteristics of the methods have been compared with the results of other researches and the scope of our method for applications in biological investigations with tracers has been defined. The main results of spectral-isotopic method development in the traditional direction, i.e. for quantitative analysis of impurities in solid inorganic materials and for gas analysis, are produced.  相似文献
