Standard thermochemical data (in the form of Δ(f)H° and Δ(f)G°) are available for crystalline (c) materials but rarely for their corresponding amorphous (a) counterparts. This paper establishes correlations between the sets of data for the two material forms (where known), which can then be used as a guideline for estimation of missing data. Accordingly, Δ(f)H°(a)/kJ mol(-1) ≈ 0.993Δ(f)H°(c)/kJ mol(-1) + 12.52 (R(2) = 0.9999; n = 50) and Δ(f)G°/kJ mol(-1) ≈ 0.988Δ(f)H°(c)/kJ mol(-1) + 0.70 (R(2) = 0.9999; n = 10). Much more tentatively, we propose that S°(298)(c)/J K(-1) mol(-1) ≈ 1.084S°(298)(c)/J K(-1) mol(-1) + 6.54 (R(2) = 0.9873; n = 11). An amorphous hydrate enthalpic version of the Difference Rule is also proposed (and tested) in the form [Δ(f)H°(M(p)X(q)·nH(2)O,a) - Δ(f)H°(M(p)X(q),a)]/kJ mol(-1) ≈ Θ(Hf)n ≈ -302.0n, where M(p)X(q)·nH(2)O represents an amorphous hydrate and M(p)X(q) the corresponding amorphous anhydrous parent salt.  相似文献

A theoretical study has been made on six isomers of H2SO2 using coupled-cluster singles and doubles with noniterative triple excitations (CCSD(T)). The isomers studied are sulfoxylic acid (S(OH)2; C2 and Cs conformers), sulfinic acid (HS(=O)OH; 2 C1 conformers), dihydrogen sulfone (H2SO2; C2v), sulfhydryl hydroperoxide (HSOOH; C1), thiadioxirane (Cs), and dihydrogen persulfoxide (H2SOO; Cs). Molecular geometries, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and infrared intensities of all species were obtained using the CCSD(T) method and the 6-311++G(2d,2p) basis set. All aforementioned species were found to be local minima, with the exception of thiadioxirane, which has one imaginary frequency. A prior possible infrared observation of sulfinic acid was reassessed on the basis of the present data. In agreement with previous MP2 results, the present CCSD(T) data provide support for at most 4 of the 8 observed frequencies. The CCSD(T) frequencies and intensities should be of assistance in future identification of H2SO2 isomers by vibrational spectroscopy. Relative energies were calculated using the CCSD(T) method and several larger basis sets. As found previously, the lowest energy species is C2 S(OH)2, followed by Cs S(OH)2, HS(=O)OH, H2SO2, HSOOH, thiadioxirane, and H2SOO. Expanding the basis set significantly reduces the relative energies of HS(=O)OH and H2SO2. The CCSD(T) method was used with extended basis sets (up to aug-cc-pV(Q+d)Z) and basis set extrapolation in two reaction schemes to calculate the DeltaH degrees t (25 degrees C) of C2 S(OH)2. The two reaction schemes gave -285.8 and -282.7 kJ mol-1, which are quite close to a prior theoretical estimate (-290 kJ mol-1).  相似文献

We have calculated the thermochemical parameters for the reactions H(2)SO(4) + H(2)O <--> H(2)SO(4).H(2)O and H(2)SO(4) + NH(3) <--> H(2)SO(4).NH(3) using the B3LYP and PW91 functionals, MP2 perturbation theory and four different basis sets. Different methods and basis sets yield very different results with respect to, for example, the reaction free energies. A large part, but not all, of these differences are caused by basis set superposition error (BSSE), which is on the order of 1-3 kcal mol(-1) for most method/basis set combinations used in previous studies. Complete basis set extrapolation (CBS) calculations using the cc-pV(X+d)Z and aug-cc-pV(X+d)Z basis sets (with X = D, T, Q) at the B3LYP level indicate that if BSSE errors of less than 0.2 kcal mol(-1) are desired in uncorrected calculations, basis sets of at least aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z quality should be used. The use of additional augmented basis functions is also shown to be important, as the BSSE error is significant for the nonaugmented basis sets even at the quadruple-zeta level. The effect of anharmonic corrections to the zero-point energies and thermal contributions to the free energy are shown to be around 0.4 kcal mol(-1) for the H(2)SO(4).H(2)O cluster at 298 K. Single-point CCSD(T) calculations for the H(2)SO(4).H(2)O cluster also indicate that B3LYP and MP2 calculations reproduce the CCSD(T) energies well, whereas the PW91 results are significantly overbinding. However, basis-set limit extrapolations at the CCSD(T) level indicate that the B3LYP binding energies are too low by ca. 1-2 kcal/mol. This probably explains the difference of about 2 kcal mol(-1) for the free energy of the H(2)SO(4) + H(2)O <--> H(2)SO(4).H(2)O reaction between the counterpoise-corrected B3LYP calculations with large basis sets and the diffusion-based experimental values of S. M. Ball, D. R. Hanson, F. L Eisele and P. H. McMurry (J. Phys. Chem. A. 2000, 104, 1715). Topological analysis of the electronic charge density based on the quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) shows that different method/basis set combinations lead to qualitatively different bonding patterns for the H(2)SO(4).NH(3) cluster. Using QTAIM analysis, we have also defined a proton transfer degree parameter which may be useful in further studies.  相似文献

Following the H + H(2) and F + H(2) reactions, the fluorine atom - water system has the potential to become one of the best understood chemical reactions. Stationary points for the F + H(2)O potential energy surface have been located with the "Gold Standard" CCSD(T) method using the Dunning correlation consistent basis sets through quintuple zeta. The CCSD(T)/cc-pV5Z barrier height is prediced to be 2.5 kcal mol(-1), less than previous estimates of 4-7 kcal mol(-1). From higher level theoretical studies of the prototypical F + H(2) reaction, this barrier should be less than 0.5 kcal mol(-1) above the exact, nonrelativistic classical barrier height. 41 of the 49 DFT methods applied to F + H(2)O predict no barrier at all. The eight DFT methods that do predict a barrier show exothermicities that are somewhat too small. The CCSD(T)/cc-pV5Z entrance complex is bound by 3.4 kcal mol(-1) relative to separated F + H(2)O. The analogous exit complex is bound by 5.9 kcal mol(-1) relative to separated HF + OH.  相似文献

Guided ion beam tandem mass spectrometry techniques are used to examine the competing product channels in the reaction of Cl(-) with CH(3)F in the center-of-mass collision energy range 0.05-27 eV. Four anionic reaction products are detected: F(-), CH(2)Cl(-), FCl(-), and CHCl(-). The endothermic S(N)2 reaction Cl(-) + CH(3)F --> CH(3)Cl + F(-) has an energy threshold of E(0) = 181 +/- 14 kJ/mol, exhibiting a 52 +/- 16 kJ/mol effective barrier in excess of the reaction endothermicity. The potential energy of the S(N)2 transition state is well below the energy of the products. Dynamical impedances to the activation of the S(N)2 reaction are discussed, including angular momentum constraints, orientational effects, and the inefficiency of translational energy in promoting the reaction. The fluorine abstraction reaction to form CH(3) + FCl(-) exhibits a 146 +/- 33 kJ/mol effective barrier above the reaction endothermicity. Direct proton transfer to form HCl is highly inefficient, but HF elimination is observed above 268 +/- 95 kJ/mol. Potential energy surfaces for the reactions are calculated using the CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pVDZ and HF/6-31+G(d) methods and used to interpret the dynamics.  相似文献

The computational investigations are carried out on the heterodimers containing CF2Cl2 with isoelectronic and isostructure (linear triatomics) species of N2O and CO2 through MP2/aug-cc-pV(D+d)Z, MP2/aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z//MP2/aug-cc-pV(D+d)Z, and CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pV(D+d)Z//MP2/aug-cc-pV(D+d)Z levels. Five and twelve heterodimers are located on the potential energy surface of CF2Cl2–CO2 and CF2Cl2–N2O systems, respectively. Binding energies of heterodimers in the CF2Cl2–CO2 and CF2Cl2–N2O systems corrected with BSSE are in the ranges of 1.30–5.79 and 1.30–6.85 kJ/mol at the MP2/aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z//MP2/aug-cc-pV(D+d)Z level, respectively. The calculated results reveal that the five most stable heterodimers among all heterodimers obtained for the CF2Cl2–CO2 and CF2Cl2–N2O systems belong to CF2Cl2–N2O system. Therefore, CF2Cl2–N2O system has more key role than CF2Cl2–CO2 one in the atmosphere.  相似文献

High level ab initio electronic structure calculations using the coupled cluster CCSD(T) method with augmented correlation-consistent basis sets extrapolated to the complete basis set limit have been performed on the PNO, NOP, and NPO isomers and their corresponding anions and cations. Geometries for all species were optimized up through the aug-cc-pV(Q+d)Z level and vibrational frequencies were calculated with the aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z basis set. The most stable of the three isomers is NPO and it is predicted to have a heat of formation of 23.3 kcal/mol. PNO is predicted to be only 1.7 kcal/mol higher in energy. The calculated adiabatic ionization potential of NPO is 12.07 eV and the calculated adiabatic electron affinity is 2.34 eV. The calculated adiabatic ionization potential of PNO is 10.27 eV and the calculated adiabatic electron affinity is only 0.24 eV. NOP is predicted to be much higher in energy by 29.9 kcal/mol. The calculated rotational constants for PNO and NPO should allow for these species to be spectroscopically distinguished. The adiabatic bond dissociation energies for the P[Single Bond]N, P[Single Bond]O, and N[Single Bond]O bonds in NPO and PNO are the same within approximately 10 kcal/mol and fall in the range of 72-83 kcal/mol.  相似文献

We employ ab initio methods to find stable geometries and to calculate potential energy surfaces and vibrational wavenumbers for sulfuric acid monohydrate. Geometry optimizations are carried out with the explicitly correlated coupled-cluster approach that includes single, double, and perturbative triple excitations (CCSD(T)-F12a) with a valence double-ζ basis set (VDZ-F12). Four different stable geometries are found, and the two lowest are within 0.41 kJ mol(-1) (or 34 cm(-1)) of each other. Vibrational harmonic wavenumbers are calculated at both the density-fitted local spin component scaled second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory (DF-SCS-LMP2) with the aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z basis set and the CCSD-F12/VDZ-F12 level. Water O-H stretching vibrations and two highly anharmonic large-amplitude motions connecting the three lowest potential energy minima are considered by limiting the dimensionality of the corresponding potential energy surfaces to small two- or three-dimensional subspaces that contain only strongly coupled vibrational degrees of freedom. In these anharmonic domains, the vibrational problem is solved variationally using potential energy surfaces calculated at the CCSD(T)-F12a/VDZ-F12 level.  相似文献

The accurate estimation of S-O bond dissociation enthalpies (BDE) of sulfoxides by computational chemistry methods has been a significant challenge. One of the primary causes for this challenge is the well-established requirement of including high-exponent d functions in the sulfur basis set for accurate energies. Unfortunately, even when high-exponent d functions were included in Pople-style basis sets, the relative strength of experimentally determined S-O BDE was incorrectly predicted. The aug-cc-pV(n+d)Z basis sets developed by Dunning include an additional high-exponent d function on sulfur. Thus, it was expected that the aug-cc-pV(n+d)Z basis sets would improve the prediction of sulfoxide S-O BDE. This study presents the S-O BDE predicted by B3LYP, CCSD, CCSD(T), M05-2X, M06-2X, and MP2 combined with aug-cc-pV(n+d)Z, aug-cc-pVnZ, and Pople-style basis sets. The accuracy of these predictions was determined by comparing the computationally predicted values to the experimentally determined S-O BDE. Values within experimental error were obtained for dialkyl sulfoxides when the S-O BDEs were estimated using an isodesmic oxygen transfer reaction at the M06-2X/aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z level of theory. However, the S-O BDE of divinyl sulfoxide was overestimated by this method.  相似文献

Boroxines are the six-membered cyclotrimeric dehydration products of organoboronic acids, 3R–B(OH)2 → R3B3O3 + 3H2O, and in recent years have emerged as a useful class of organoboron molecules with applications in organic synthesis both as reagents and catalysts, as structural components in boronic-acid-derived pharmaceutical agents, and as anion acceptors and electrolyte additives for battery materials [Korich, A. L.; Iovine, P. M. Dalton Trans. 2010, 39, 1423?1431]. Second-order M?ller–Plesset perturbation theory, in conjunction with the Dunning–Woon correlation-consistent cc-pVDZ, aug-cc-pVDZ, cc-pVTZ, and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets, was used to investigate the structures and relative energies of the endo–exo, anti, and syn conformers of the aliphatic boronic acids R–B(OH)2 (R = H, H3C, H2N, HO, and F), as well as the thermodynamics of their boroxine formation; single-point calculations at the MP2/aug-cc-pVQZ, MP2/aug-cc-pV5Z, and CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pVTZ levels using the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ optimized geometries were also performed in selected cases. The endo–exo conformer was generally lowest in energy in vacuo, as well as in PCM and CPCM models of aqueous and carbon tetrachloride media. The values of ΔH(298)(0) for boroxine formation via dehydration from the endo–exo conformers of these aliphatic boronic acids ranged from ?2.9 for (H2N)3B3O3 to +12.2 kcal/mol for H3B3O3 at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level in vacuo; for H3B3O3, the corresponding values in PCM/UFF implicit carbon tetrachloride and aqueous media were +11.2 and +9.8 kcal/mol, respectively. On the basis of our calculations, we recommend that ΔHf(298K) for boroxine listed in the JANAF compilation needs to be revised from ?290.0 to approximately ?277.0 kcal/mol.  相似文献

Hildenbrand and co-workers have shown recently that the vapor above solid ammonium nitrate includes molecules of NH?NO?, not only NH? and HNO? as previously believed. Their measurements led to thermochemical values that imply an enthalpy change of D??? = 98 ± 9 kJ mol?1 for the gas-phase dissociation of ammonium nitrate into NH? and HNO?. Using updated spectroscopic information for the partition function leads to the revised value of D??? = 78 ± 21 kJ mol?1 (accompanying paper in this journal, Hildenbrand, D. L., Lau, K. H., and Chandra, D. J. Phys. Chem. B 2010, DOI: 10.1021/jp105773q). In contrast, high-level ab initio calculations, detailed in the present report, predict a dissociation enthalpy half as large as the original result, 50 ± 3 kJ mol?1. These are frozen-core CCSD(T) calculations extrapolated to the limiting basis set aug-cc-pV∞Z using an anharmonic vibrational partition function and a variational treatment of the NH? rotor. The corresponding enthalpy of formation is Δ(f)H???°(NH?NO?,g) = ?230.6 ± 3 kJ mol?1. The origin of the disagreement with experiment remains unexplained.  相似文献

The MP2 complete basis set (CBS) limit for the binding energy of the two low-lying water octamer isomers of D2d and S4 symmetry is estimated at -72.7+/-0.4 kcal/mol using the family of augmented correlation-consistent orbital basis sets of double through quintuple zeta quality. The largest MP2 calculation with the augmented quintuple zeta (aug-cc-pV5Z) basis set produced binding energies of -73.70 (D2d) and -73.67 kcal/mol (S4). The effects of higher correlation, computed at the CCSD(T) level of theory, are estimated at <0.1 kcal/mol. The newly established MP2/CBS limit for the water octamer is reproduced quite accurately by the newly developed all atom polarizable, flexible interaction potential (TTM2-F). The TTM2-F binding energies of -73.21 (D2d) and -73.24 kcal/mol (S4) for the two isomers are just 0.5 kcal/mol (or 0.7%) larger than the MP2/CBS limit.  相似文献

S4(AsF6)2.AsF3 was prepared by the reaction of sulfur with arsenic pentafluroide in liquid AsF3 (quantitatively) and in anhydrous HF in the presence of trace amounts of bromine. A single-crystal X-ray structure of the compound has been determined: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, Z = 4, a = 7.886(1) A, b = 9.261(2) A, c = 19.191(3) A, beta = 92.82(1) degrees, V = 1399.9(4) A3, T = 293 K, R1 = 0.052 for 1563 reflections (I > 2 sigma (I) 1580 total and 235 parameters). We report a term-by-term calculation of the lattice potential energy of this salt and also use our generalized equation, which estimates lattice energies to assist in probing the homopolyatomic cation thermochemistry in the solid and the gaseous states. We find S4(AsF6)2.AsF3 to be more stable (delta fH degree [S4(AsF6)2.AsF3,c] approximately -4050 +/- 105 kJ/mol) than either the unsolvated S4(AsF6)2 (delta fH degree [S4(AsF6)2,c] approximately -3104 +/- 117 kJ/mol) by 144 kJ/mol or two moles of S2AsF6 (c) and AsF3 (1) by 362 kJ/mol. The greater stability of the S(4)2+ salt arises because of the greater lattice potential energy of the 1:2 solvated salt (1734 kJ/mol) relative to twice that of the 1:1 salt (2 x 541 = 1082 kJ/mol). The relative lattice stabilization enthalpies of M(4)2+ ions relative to two M2+ ions (i.e., in M4(AsF6)2 (c) with respect to two M2AsF6 (c) (M = S, Se, and Te)) are found to be 218, 289, and 365 kJ/mol, respectively. Evaluation of the thermodynamic data implies that appropriate presently available anions are unlikely to stabilize M2+ in the solid phase. A revised value for delta fH degree [Se4(AsF6)2,c] = -3182 +/- 106 kJ/mol is proposed based on estimates of the lattice energy of Se4(AsF6)2 (c) and a previously calculated gasphase dimerization energy of 2Se2+ to Se(4)2+.

The importance of the HSO(2) system in atmospheric and combustion chemistry has motivated several works dedicated to the study of associated structures and chemical reactions. Nevertheless, controversy still exists about a possible connection between the upper and lower energy regions of the potential energy surface (PES) for the ground electronic state of the system. Very recently, a path to connect these regions was proposed based on studies at the CASPT2/aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z level of calculation but the small energy difference between some of the transitions states along that path suggested the necessity of calculations at a higher level of theory. In the present work, we report a CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z study of the stationary states associated to the proposed connection path, including assessment of the most reliable complete basis set (CBS) extrapolation scheme for the system. Among the new features, the present calculations show that there are no structures corresponding to the HSO(2)(b) minimum and the TS3 saddle point obtained at the CASPT2 level and that the connection path between the upper and lower energy regions of the PES for the ground electronic state involves only one transition state and most probably more than one electronic state.  相似文献

A series of MP2 and CCSD(T) computations have been carried out with correlation consistent basis sets as large as aug-cc-pV5Z to determine the intrinsic equatorial-axial conformational preference of CH(3)-, F-, OCH(3)-, and OH-substituted cyclohexane and tetrahydropyran rings. The high-accuracy relative electronic energies reported here shed new light on the intrinsic energetics of these cyclic prototypes for the anomeric effect. At the CCSD(T) complete basis set (CBS) limit, the energy of the equatorial conformation relative to the axial position (DeltaE (CBS)(CCSD(T))) is -1.75, -0.20, -0.21, and -0.56 kcal mol(-1) in methyl-, fluoro-, methoxy-, and hydroxycyclohexane, respectively, while DeltaE(CBS)(CCSD(T) is -2.83, +2.45, +1.27, and +0.86 kcal mol(-1) for 2-methyl-, 2-fluoro-, 2-methoxy-, and 2-hydroxytetrahydropyran, respectively. Note that the equatorial and axial conformers are nearly electronically isoenergetic in both fluoro- and methoxycyclohexane. For all eight cyclic species, a zero-point vibrational energy correction decreases Delta by a few tenths of a kilocalorie per mole. Relative energies obtained with popular methods and basis sets are unreliable, including Hartree-Fock theory, the B3LYP density functional, and the 6-31G and 6-311G families of split-valence basis sets. Even with the massive pentuple-zeta basis sets, the HF and B3LYP methods substantially overestimate the stability of the equatorial conformers (by as much as 0.99 and 0.73 kcal mol(-1), respectively, for 2-methoxytetrahydropyran). Only because of a consistent cancellation of errors do these popular approaches sometimes provide reasonable estimates of the anomeric effect.  相似文献

The ionization energies (IEs) and heats of formation (ΔH°(f0)/ΔH°(f298)) for thiophene (C(4)H(4)S), furan (C(4)H(4)O), pyrrole (C(4)H(4)NH), 1,3-cyclopentadiene (C(4)H(4)CH(2)), and borole (C(4)H(4)BH) have been calculated by the wave function-based ab initio CCSD(T)/CBS approach, which involves the approximation to the complete basis set (CBS) limit at the coupled-cluster level with single and double excitations plus a quasi-perturbative triple excitation [CCSD(T)]. Where appropriate, the zero-point vibrational energy correction (ZPVE), the core-valence electronic correction (CV), and the scalar relativistic effect (SR) are included in these calculations. The respective CCSD(T)/CBS predictions for C(4)H(4)S, C(4)H(4)O, C(4)H(4)NH, and C(4)H(4)CH(2), being 8.888, 8.897, 8.222, and 8.582 eV, are in excellent agreement with the experimental values obtained from previous photoelectron and photoion measurements. The ΔH°(f0)/ΔH°(f298) values for the aforementioned molecules and their corresponding cations have also been predicted by the CCSD(T)/CBS method, and the results are compared with the available experimental data. The comparisons between the CCSD(T)/CBS predictions and the experimental values for C(4)H(4)S, C(4)H(4)O, C(4)H(4)NH, and C(4)H(4)CH(2) suggest that the CCSD(T)/CBS procedure is capable of predicting reliable IE values for five-membered-ring molecules with an uncertainty of ±13 meV. In view of the excellent agreements between the CCSD(T)/CBS predictions and the experimental values for C(4)H(4)S, C(4)H(4)O, C(4)H(4)NH, and C(4)H(4)CH(2), the similar CCSD(T)/CBS IE and ΔH°(f0)/ΔH°(f298) predictions for C(4)H(4)BH, whose thermochemical data are not readily available due to its reactive nature, should constitute a reliable data set. The CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(4)H(4)BH) value is 8.868 eV, and ΔH°(f0)/ΔH°(f298) values for C(4)H(4)BH and C(4)H(4)BH(+) are 269.5/258.6 and 1125.1/1114.6 kJ/mol, respectively. The highest occupied molecular orbitals (HOMO) of C(4)H(4)S, C(4)H(4)O, C(4)H(4)NH, C(4)H(4)CH(2), and C(4)H(4)BH have also been studied by the natural bond orbital (NBO) method, and the extent of π-electron delocalization in these five-membered rings are discussed in correlation with their molecular structures and orbitals.  相似文献

The ionization energies (IEs) for the 2-propyl (2-C(3)H(7)), phenyl (C(6)H(5)), and benzyl (C(6)H(5)CH(2)) radicals have been calculated by the wave-function-based ab initio CCSD(T)/CBS approach, which involves the approximation to the complete basis set (CBS) limit at the coupled cluster level with single and double excitations plus quasiperturbative triple excitation [CCSD(T)]. The zero-point vibrational energy correction, the core-valence electronic correction, and the scalar relativistic effect correction have been also made in these calculations. Although a precise IE value for the 2-C(3)H(7) radical has not been directly determined before due to the poor Franck-Condon factor for the photoionization transition at the ionization threshold, the experimental value deduced indirectly using other known energetic data is found to be in good accord with the present CCSD(T)/CBS prediction. The comparison between the predicted value through the focal-point analysis and the highly precise experimental value for the IE(C(6)H(5)CH(2)) determined in the previous pulsed field ionization photoelectron (PFI-PE) study shows that the CCSD(T)/CBS method is capable of providing an accurate IE prediction for C(6)H(5)CH(2), achieving an error limit of 35 meV. The benchmarking of the CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(6)H(5)CH(2)) prediction suggests that the CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(6)H(5)) prediction obtained here has a similar accuracy of 35 meV. Taking into account this error limit for the CCSD(T)/CBS prediction and the experimental uncertainty, the CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(6)H(5)) value is also consistent with the IE(C(6)H(5)) reported in the previous HeI photoelectron measurement. Furthermore, the present study provides support for the conclusion that the CCSD(T)/CBS approach with high-level energy corrections can be used to provide reliable IE predictions for C(3)-C(7) hydrocarbon radicals with an uncertainty of +/-35 meV. Employing the atomization scheme, we have also computed the 0 K (298 K) heats of formation in kJ/mol at the CCSD(T)/CBS level for 2-C(3)H(7)/2-C(3)H(7) (+) ,C(6)H(5)/C(6)H(5) (+), and C(6)H(5)CH(2)/C(6)H(5)CH(2) (+) to be 105.2/822.7 (90.0/806.4), 351.4/1148.5 (340.4/1138.8), and 226.2/929.0 (210.3/912.7), respectively. Comparing these values with the available experimental values, we find that the discrepancies for the 0 and 298 K heats of formation values are < or =2.6 kJ/mol for 2-C(3)H(7)/2-C(3)H(7) (+),< or =4.1 kJ/mol for C(6)H(5)/C(6)H(5) (+), and < or =3.2 kJ//mol for C(6)H(5)CH(2)C(6)H(5)CH(2) (+).
