自振空化射流是利用瞬态流和水声学原理调制而成的一种新型射流,为研究围压下自激振荡空化射流的冲蚀破碎规律,利用高压釜装置测量了1.0mm出口直径的风琴管自振空化喷嘴在各种射流参数情况下冲蚀铝试样的冲蚀质量,并与同等条件下锥形喷嘴冲蚀效率进行了对比。测量结果表明,冲蚀质量基本与射流压力成正比;存在最优喷距和围压,使得冲蚀效果最佳,在本实验条件,分别为喷嘴出口直径的5~7倍和2MPa左右;相同条件下,自振空化喷嘴冲蚀质量约为同等条件下锥形喷嘴冲蚀的1~2倍,这为自振空化射流提高钻井速度等实际应用提供了实验依据。  相似文献

基于对超高压水射流喷头的外部参数定量化分析,给出关于射流核心参数的优选方法,旨在提高水射流效率。首先,根据超高压水射流除锈喷嘴的工作特点,考虑到水的压缩性和空化效应,建立单束定冲角、多束旋转喷头的三维数值模型,通过改变靶距、入射角度、转速等外部特征参数,实施了超高压水射流除锈喷头水动力性能模拟研究。然后,重点分析单束定冲角喷嘴靶距、入射角度对靶面剪切应力、打击压强分布的影响,以及射流等速核长度与最佳射流靶距的关系。发现当靶距等于喷嘴射流等速核长度时,壁面剪切应力达到最佳水平。此外,通过分析高速旋转射流卷吸效应、靶面水垫作用对靶面所受剪切应力、打击压强分布的影响,得到最佳转速范围和对应线速度。初步阐明了射流冲击剥离的机理、单束定冲角以及多束旋转射流的特征参数对射流效果的影响,可为超高压除锈喷头的设计、装配提供参考。  相似文献

In order to accurately and reliably evaluate the cavitation erosion resistance of materials using a cavitating jet generator, the effects of the hydrodynamic parameters and the nozzle geometry on the erosion process were investigated. Since the behaviour of a high speed submerged cavitating jet is also depending on the working conditions; their influence is also discussed based on the evaluation of cavitation erosion process. The erosion rate was used as an indicator for cavitating jet behaviour. Specimens of commercial-purity copper were subjected to high speed submerged cavitating jets under different initial conditions, for certain time periods. The force generated by jet cavitation is employed to initiate the erosion in surface. The tested specimens were investigated with a digital optical microscope and a profilometer. It was found that erosion becomes more pronounced with decreasing cavitation numbers, as well as with increasing exit jet velocities. The nozzle configuration and hydrodynamic parameters have strong influences on the erosion rate, eroded area and depth of erosion. A comparison between the obtained results explains some of the mechanisms involved in cavitation and erosion processes and their relation to the tested parameters. Mathematical expressions which combine these parameters with the erosion rate are obtained. These parameters are very important in order to control the cavitation as a phenomenon and also to control the performance of the cavitating jet generator.  相似文献

Numerical and experimental study of two turbulent opposed plane jets   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The turbulent interaction between two opposed plane jets separated by a distance H is experimentally studied by using a PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) method and numerically investigated by means of a finite volume code. Two turbulence models have been tested: the standard k-ɛ model and a second-order model. The validation of the numerical study was performed by comparing the results with experimental data obtained for the case of two interacting opposed jets at ambient temperature (isothermal case). The effect of the angle of inclination of the jets is studied. Conclusions of the validation are then used to study the interaction between two jets, one being maintained at ambient temperature whereas the other is heated. Results show that the stagnation point moves towards the heated jet. It is shown that the heating induces a stabilizing effect on the flow.  相似文献

采用实验途径研究了下水高速气体射流的动力学特性,研制了水下高速气体射流实验系统并发展了相应的测试手段。实验中,用插入式静压探针测量了射流轴线静压分布;用γ射线衰减法测量了径向空隙率分布,从而揭示了水下高速气体射流均压和掺混两个过程的基本规律。测量结果表明:水下高速气体射流在欠膨胀工况下运行时,近场将出现含有复杂波系结构的膨胀压缩区域,由于气水的掺混作用,水下欠膨胀气体射流均压化过程比空气中衰减得快。测量结果还表明,水下射流在近场区的混合层由气水两相占据,其流态从靠近气体侧的液滴流型过渡到靠近液体侧的气泡流型。  相似文献

Experiments on a water cavitating orifice were conducted to investigate the influence of pressure and temperature on flow regime transition due to cavitation. The thermal effects could be important in cases with cryogenic cavitation or hot fluid injection. The investigations were based on CCD observations and a pressure fluctuations frequency analysis.The high-speed photographic recordings were used to analyze the cavitation evolution and individuate the frequency content of the two-phase flow by processing the pixel-intensity time-series data.The cavitating structures showed different behaviors and characteristics with variations in operating conditions, as the pressure inside the orifice and the flow temperature .The flow regime map for the cavitating flow was obtained using experimental observations to analyze the occurrence of the different two-phase flow regime transitions at various operating conditions.As the pressure at the orifice inlet increased, at the same downstream pressure, cavitation inception occurred. The decrease of the cavitation number brought a significant increase in cavitation zone extension. As the pressure drop inside the orifice increased, the cavitation was characterized by an evident increase in cavitation zone length to the outlet of the orifice. With a further cavitation number decrease, the transition to jet cavitation was evident.The temperature influenced both the cavitation intensity and the cavitation number at which different two-phase flow regime transitions occurred, which tended to increase with temperature.The vapor fraction was estimated using an image processing algorithm.The frequency content given by the pressure fluctuations was analyzed and compared with the frequency spectra obtained from the visual observations. The behavior of the different cavitating flows could be correlated to the frequency spectrum of the pressure fluctuations measured upstream and downstream of the orifice. The cavitation number reduction and consequent increase in cavitating area width were related to a corresponding significant increase in the amplitude of typical frequency components. The transition to jet cavitation was characterized by a significant increase in the first peak in the frequency spectrum; weaker spectral peaks were also present at high cavitation numbers.  相似文献

The deviation of a jet from the straight direction due to the presence of a lateral wall is investigated from the experimental point of view. This flow condition is known as Coanda jet (from the Romanian aerodynamicist Henry Marie Coanda who discovered and applied it at the beginning of XXth century) or offset jet. The objective of the work is to detail the underlying mechanisms of such a phenomenon aiming to use it as a flow control method at polluted river flows mouth. To do this, a large laboratory free-surface tank with an incoming channel has been set up and velocity field measurements are performed by Optical Flow methods (namely Feature Tracking). Preliminary tests on the well-known free jet configuration without any marine structure (i.e. lateral wall) are performed to allow comparison with free jet scaling and self-similar solutions. The presence of the free-surface gives rise to centerline velocity decay which is lower than in free unbounded plane or circular jets due to the vertically limited ambient fluid entrainment. In the second part of the paper, the effect of a lateral wall on the jet configuration is examined by placing it at different lateral distances from the jet outlet. The resulting velocity fields clearly show an inclined Coanda jet with details which seems to depend on the lateral wall distance itself. The analysis of self-similarity along the inclined jet direction reveals that for wall distances larger than 5 jet widths this dependence almost disappears.  相似文献

Sheet/cloud cavitation is an important topic that is a very common type of cavitation in turbo-machinery and marine propeller. Up to now we still have limited understanding of the cavitation shedding dynamics and cloud cavity formation and development. The present study used experimental and numerical studies to gain a better understanding of the complex physics involved in this problem. A series of experimental observations around hydrofoils are carried out in the cavitation tunnel of the China Ship Scientific Research Center (CSSRC) to illustrate the spatial–temporal evolution of the cloud cavity in detail. The results demonstrate that U-type flow structures are common in cloud cavities and can be divided into three stages and the closure line in a sheet cavity often has a convex–concave profile. Reentrant flows occur in the convex region with the jet direction normal to the contour edge so the shedding is mainly caused by the converging reentrant flows. Further analysis demonstrated that there was a striking difference with the cavity growth suppressed substantially in the twisted hydrofoil case if compared with straight hydrofoil and the effect of side entrant jets might make the cavity more uniform across the span. Numerical simulations were used to simulate the formation and development of the cloud cavity. The results show that the strong adverse pressure gradient in the stagnation region at the downstream end of the attached cavity forces the re-entrant flows into the vapor structure with a radially-diverging re-entrant jet and a pair of side-entrant jets, which causes the cavity shedding. Further analyzes of the local flow fields show that the interactions between the circulating flow and the shedding vapor cloud may be the main reason for the formation of the U-type cloud cavity structures.  相似文献

The spatially resolved effectiveness distributions for a single jet and row of circular jets impinging on a convex surface are reported in the present study. The impinging surface was inclined at 0°, 15°, 30° and 45° to the jet axis. Studies were conducted for a single curvature ratio equal to 0.05 at a constant Reynolds number equal to 40,000 for non-dimensional jet-to-target distances, L/d equal to 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. Two non-dimensional jet-to-jet spacings, S/d, equal to 4 and 8 were studied. The effectiveness distribution for multiple jet impingement was noticed to be different from that for a single jet impingement. The entrainment from the surrounding was mitigated for the inner jets by the outer jets. The interaction of adjacent walljets forms a ‘barrier’ against the percolation of entrained ambient from the outer jet region towards the inner region. The zone of walljet interaction and region near to the inner jets were therefore observed to result in high effectiveness values. The inclined impingement of the jet reduces the strength of interaction of the walljets on up and downhill sides and thereby reduces the ‘barrier effect’ against the entrainment of ambient, which causes similar variation of effectiveness for all the jets in a row at high inclinations.  相似文献

 The entrainment rates of vertical and inclined jets impinging on a stratified interface are measured in water tank experiments. At moderate Richardson number, the entrainment rate of the vertical jet is proportional to Ri -1/2, independent of Reynolds number. The inclined jets are tilted at 15° from the vertical. In one case, the jet nozzle is rotated about a vertical axis, so that the inclined jet precesses, while in the other, it is stationary. The inclined jets entrain at a rate proportional to Ri -3/2, whether precessing or not. This behavior is consistent with a new model of stratified entrainment which accounts for vortex persistence. Multiphase flows are ubiquitous in our daily lifeand engineering applications.It is important to investigatethe flow structures to predict their dynamical behaviors effectively.Lagrangian coherent structures(LCS) defined bythe ridges of the finite-time Lyapunov exponent(FTLE) isutilized in this study to elucidate the multiphase interactionsin gaseous jets injected into water and time-dependent turbulent cavitation under the framework of Navier-Stokes flowcomputations.For the gaseous jets injected into water,the highlightedphenomena of the jet transportation can be observed by theLCS method,including expansion,bulge,necking/breaking,and back-attack.Besides,the observation of the LCS revealsthat the back-attack phenomenon arises from the fact that theinjected gas has difficulties to move toward downstream region after the necking/breaking.For the turbulent cavitatingflow,the ridge of the FTLE field can form a LCS to capturethe front and boundary of the re-entraint jet when the adverse pressure gradient is strong enough.It represents a barrier between particles trapped inside the circulation regionand those moving downstream.The results indicate that theFTLE field has the potential to identify the structures of multiphase flows,and the LCS can capture the interface/barrieror the vortex/circulation region.  相似文献

We present the results of an experimental investigation and numerical simulation of the gasdynamic structure of underexpanded dissociated-air jets and the heat transfer in these strongly nonequilibrium flows under the test conditions realized in the 100-kW electrodeless VGU-4 plasma generator of the Institute for Problems in Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPM RAS). The flow and heat transfer analysis is carried out on the basis of measurements of the static pressure in the plenum chamber, at the sonic nozzle exit, and on the low-pressure chamber wall, the stagnation pressure on the jet axis using a Pitot tube, and the heat transfer at the stagnation points of water-cooled models placed along the jet axis. The numerical simulation, based on complete Navier-Stokes equations, includes the calculation of (1) equilibrium air plasma flows in the discharge channel of the VGU-4 plasma generator; (2) underexpanded nonequilibrium dissociated-air jet outflow into the ambient space; and (3) axisymmetric jet flow past cylindrical models.  相似文献

The dynamic behavior of the near-field region in a coaxial variable property jet has been experimentally investigated under a swirling flow produced by rotating cylindrical inner and outer tubes, focusing on how the swirl of the outer jet affects the formation of a stagnation point in the swirling inner jet. The inner and outer jets rotate in the same direction. Air, CO2, or He is issued from the inner tube as a variable property jet, and air is issued from the outer tube in this work. In the case of a CO2 jet (a high-density, low-viscosity gas jet), a stagnation point flow is more easily formed than in the case of an air jet, and the stagnation point location is significantly lower than in that of the air jet. When the swirl of the outer jet is introduced, a stagnation point flow is more easily formed than in the case of a nonswirling outer jet, and the stagnation point location is much lower than in the case of a nonswirling outer jet. In the case of a He jet (a low-density and high-viscosity gas jet), the inner jet does not have a stagnation point flow, and its overall behavior remains nearly unchanged even under high swirl numbers of the inner and outer jets. These results clearly show that the density and viscosity differences between the inner and outer jets have a significant impact on the dynamic behavior of the near-field region in the coaxial swirling jet. The significant lowering of the stagnation point location can be physically explained by considering the theoretical equation obtained in this work.  相似文献

The interaction between multiple incompressible air jets has been studied numerically and experimentally. The numerical predictions have been first validated using experimental data for a single jet configuration. The spreading features of five unequal jets in the configuration of one larger central jet surrounded by four smaller equi‐distant jets, have been studied, for different lateral spacing ratios of 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 and a central jet Reynolds number of 1.24×105 (corresponding to a Mach number of 0.16). Flow of five equal jets has also been simulated, for the sake of comparison. The jet interactions commence at an axial distance of about 3–4 diameters and complete by an axial distance of about 10 diameters for the lowest spacing ratio of 1.5. For larger spacing ratios, the length required for the start and completion of jet interaction increase. Peripheral jets bend more towards the central jet and merge at a smaller distance, when their sizes are smaller than that of the central jet. The entrainment ratio for multiple jets is higher than that for a single jet. Excellent agreement is observed between the experimental data and theoretical predictions for both mean flow field and turbulent quantities, at regions away from the jet inlet. The potential core length and initial jet development, however, are not predicted very accurately due to differences in the assumed and actual velocity profiles at the jet inlet. Exhaustion of supersonic argon and nitrogen jets through sonic and supersonic nozzles into a rarefied submerged space at high stagnation pressures is studied experimentally. The shapes and lengths of the jets are visualized by means of detecting radiation excited in the considered flow by an electron beam. Dependences of the geometric parameters of the jets on exhaustion and clusterization conditions at low Reynolds numbers based on the reference length of the jet are obtained. It is found that the coefficient of proportionality between the length of the first “barrel” of the supersonic jet and the degree of jet expansion increases with an increase in the stagnation pressure. Empirical dependences of the proportionality coefficient on the size of clusters formed in supersonic flows are derived for the first time.  相似文献

聚能射流侵彻厚靶时,对靶材同时进行轴向和径向挤压进而发生轴向侵彻和径向扩孔。本文中基于聚能射流侵彻可压缩模型并结合Szendrei-Held扩孔方程,推导给出考虑弹/靶材料可压缩性的聚能射流扩孔方程。为简化完整可压缩模型繁琐的计算过程,又基于Murnaghan状态方程给出可压缩模型的近似解。与水中聚能射流扩孔的实验研究对比分析,表明该模型预测优于Szendrei-Held扩孔方程。模型分析表明,射流半径、驻点压力、靶材强度、驻点处靶材密度以及聚能射流速度是影响聚能射流扩孔的主要因素。本文模型可以更准确地预测聚能射流侵彻可压缩性较强的靶材的扩孔情况。相关工作可为含液密闭结构干扰聚能射流侵彻提供理论基础。  相似文献

The structures of the axisymmetric free jets from supersonic nozzles with the exit Mach numbers of 1.5 and 2.0 are studied with special attention to the decay of the Pitot pressures downstream of the Mach disk. The Pitot pressure probe and schlieren method are used in the experiments to diagnose the flowfield. A TVD numerical method is also applied to the Euler equations, and the computed jet structures are compared with experiments. In the underexpanded jet, the experimentally obtained Pitot pressure near the jet centerline is found to substantially recover downstream of the Mach disk. By comparing the numerical computation, this phenomenon is thought to be caused by the turbulent momentum transfer to the central region from the region outside the slip line where the stagnation pressure loss is small.  相似文献

The behavior of compressible jets originated from initially turbulent pipe flows issuing in still air has been investigated at three different subsonic Mach numbers, 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9. Helium, nitrogen and krypton gases were used to generate the jet flows and investigate the additional effects of density on the flow structure. Particle image velocimetry, high-frequency response pressure transducers and thermocouples were used to obtain velocity, Mach number and total temperature measurements inside the flow field. The jets were formed at the exit of an adiabatic compressible frictional turbulent pipe flow, which was developing toward its corresponding sonic conditions inside the pipe, and continued to expand within the first four diameters distance after it exited the pipe. Theoretical considerations based on flow self-similarity were used to obtain the decay of Mach number along the centerline of the jets for the first time. It was found that this decay depends on two contributions, one from the velocity field which is inversely proportional to the distance from the exit and one from the thermal field which is proportional to this distance. As a result, a small non-linearity in the variation of the inverse Mach number with downstream distance was found. The decay of the Mach number at the centerline of the axisymmetric jets increases by increasing the initial Mach number at the exit of the flow for all jets. The decay of mean velocity at the centerline of the jets is also higher at higher exit Mach numbers. However, the velocity non-dimensionalized by the exit velocity seems to decrease faster at low exit Mach numbers, suggesting a reduced mixing with increasing exit flow Mach numbers. Helium jets were found to have the largest spreading rate among the three different gas jets used in the present investigation, while krypton jets had the lowest spreading rate. The spreading rate of each gas decreases with increasing its kinetic energy relatively to its internal energy.  相似文献

Investigation of the mixing process is one of the main issues in chemical engineering and combustion and the configuration of a jet into a cross-flow (JCF) is often employed for this purpose. Experimental data are gained for the symmetry plane in a JCF-arrangement of an air flow using a combination of particle image velocimetry (PIV) with laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). The experimental data with thoroughly measured boundary conditions are complemented with direct numerical simulations, which are based on idealized boundary conditions. Two similar cases are studied with a fixed jet-to-cross-flow velocity ratio of 3.5 and variable cross-flow Reynolds numbers equal to 4,120 and 8,240; in both cases the jet issues from the pipe at laminar conditions. This leads to a laminar-to-turbulent transition, which depends on the Reynolds number and occurs quicker for the case with higher Reynolds number in both experiments and simulations as well. It was found that the Reynolds number only slightly affects the jet trajectory, which in the case with the higher Reynolds number is slightly deeper. It is attributed to the changed boundary layer shape of the cross-flow. Leeward streamlines bend toward the jet and are responsible for the strong entrainment of cross-flow fluid into the jet. Velocity components are compared for the two Reynolds numbers at the leeward side at positions where strongest entrainment is present and a pressure minimum near the jet trajectory is found. The numerical simulations showed that entrainment is higher for the case with the higher Reynolds number. The latter is attributed to the earlier transition in this case. Fluid entrainment of the jet in cross-flow is more than twice stronger than for a similar flow of a jet issuing into a co-flowing stream. This comparison is made along the trajectory of the two jets at a distance of 5.5 jet diameters downstream and is based on the results from the direct numerical simulations and recently published experiments of a straight jet into a co-flow. Mixing is further studied by means of second-order statistics of the passive scalar variance and the Reynolds fluxes. Windward and leeward sides of the jet exhibit different signs for the time-averaged streamwise Reynolds flux 〈v x c′〉. The large coherent structures which contribute to this effect are investigated by means of timely correlated instantaneous PIV-LIF camera snapshots and their contribution to the average statistics of 〈v x c′〉 are discussed. The discussion on mixing capabilities of the jet in cross-flow is supported by simulation results showing the instantaneous three-dimensional coherent structures defined in terms of the pressure fluctuations.  相似文献
