The usual method of autofrettage (cold working) for gun tubes utilizes hydraulic pressure applied directly to the bore in order to plastically deform the wall of the tube so that favorable residual-stress patterns are produced. The strength of the tube is effectively increased, providing many associated benefits; however, ultra-high hydraulic pressures are required for high-strength steels since plastic-flow pressure is directly proportional to the yield strength of the material. A new method for the autofrettage of high-strength steel cylinders requiring greatly reduced pressures is developed and described herein. An oversize mandrel is forced through the tube to plastically deform the walls. Three methods of forcing the mandrel are investigated. Mechanical-push swaging is used in the autofrettage of short 5-in. long specimens with pull swaging and hydraulic-push swaging being used on specimens 40 in. long. All specimens are made from 4340 steel heat treated to various strengths. Cylinders with wall ratios ranging from 1.5 to 2.8, yield strengths ranging from 90,000 to 180,000 psi, and percent enlargements at the bore ranging from 1.0 to 5.0 are utilized. An engineering analysis is made investigating such factors as percent enlargement and elastic recovery at the bore, the ratio of pressure required for pushing the mandrel to the yield strength of the material, the effects of various lubricants on the frictional forces involved, and the induced three-dimensional stresses in the cylinder walls. Sach's boring-out technique is used to evaluate induced residual-stress patterns. Strains are recorded with electric-resistance strain gages and the associated dynamic and static instrumentation is described. Results are presented in graph form.  相似文献

Pressure vessels which are subjected to cyclic external or internal high pressure are used in many fields of industry and need to be sure of reliability and safety. To ensure of reliability and safety, thick-walled cylinder, such as a cannon or nuclear reactor, is autofrettaged to induce advantageous residual stresses. The compressive residual stress which was introduced by autofrettage process acts to offset the tensile residual stress induced by internal pressure. It increases operating pressure and restrains crack initiation and crack propagation. As the autofrettage level increases, the magnitude of compressive residual stress at the bore also increases. However, the Bauschinger effect reduces the compressive residual stresses with prior tensile plastic strain, and decreases the beneficial autofrettage effect. There are some differences between theoretical solution considering elastic-perfectly material behavior and real autofrettage process results. The purpose of the present paper is to predict the accurate residual stress of SNCM 8 high strength steel using the Kendall model which was adopted by ASME Code. The tensile and uniaxial Bauschinger effect tests of SNCM 8 were performed to evaluate Bauschinger effect factor(BEF), thereafter this constant was used in calculating the residual stress. The residual stress distribution which is considering the Bauschinger effect was profiled using Kendall model, and the results were compared with the analytical and Finite Element analysis. The results were found that residual stress incorporating the Bauschinger effect at bore was smaller than ideal calculation. These results should be considered in designing pressure vessels.  相似文献

Air mass flow determination is needed for the control of current internal combustion engines. Current methods are based on specific sensors (as hot wire anemometers) or indirect estimation through manifold pressure. With the availability of cylinder pressure sensors for engine control, methods based on them can be used for replacing or complementing standard methods. Present paper uses in cylinder pressure increase during the intake stroke for inferring the trapped air mass. The method is validated on two different turbocharged diesel engines and compared with the standard methods.  相似文献

不耦合装药爆破孔壁压力峰值是控制岩体轮廓成形质量及进行非流固耦合爆破振动响应数值模拟分析的重要参数,本文采用实验方法研究了不耦合装药爆破的孔壁压力峰值:利用材质为20钢的无缝薄壁钢管模拟不耦合装药爆破炮孔,以高灵敏度、高精度的应变片为传感器,选用超动态应变仪采集钢管内置柱状炸药卷爆炸过程中钢管外壁产生的环向应变,应用动荷载作用下薄壁圆筒的动力响应计算方法,反演分析采集的钢管外壁环向应变数据,得到了爆破过程中空气冲击波作用于钢管内壁的冲击荷载压力峰值,间接测量了不耦合装药爆炸后的孔壁压力峰值。实验获得了6种不耦合装药工况下的爆破孔壁压力峰值测试数据,并计算了相应工况下实验值较准静态爆生气体压力的增大倍数,拟合结果表明压力增大倍数随不耦合系数的增大近似呈线性增长。同时也分析了部分试验工况下爆炸测试结果不理想的原因,研究成果可为轮廓爆破孔壁压力峰值的测试与计算提供参考。  相似文献

应用统一强度准则和弹脆塑性变形模型,研究材料具有软化效应的厚壁圆筒的承载力。分别导出在内压及外压作用下厚壁圆筒弹脆塑性承载力的计算公式。这些公式不仅给出了以往基于Mohr-Coulomb准则和广义双剪准则的结果,而且给出了一系列新的结果,因而本文的结果可适用于多种材料。实例表明材料软化效应以及分析中所选用的强度准则对厚壁圆筒承载力具有重要影响。因此,在确定厚壁圆筒承载力时,应该合理地选用材料的软化参数及强度准则。  相似文献

A practical theory for swaging bored holes within plates and cylinders is proposed which can take into account work-hardening in the presence of small plastic strains based upon equivalent stress-strain data. With the appropriate choice of yield function, this theory applies to the swaging of both thin and thick plates under respective plane stress and plane strain conditions. The theory can be adapted further to the autofrettage of open and closed-ended, thick-walled cylinders where similar plane deformations conditions apply. Here swaging refers to the practice in which an oversized plug or sphere is forced into the bore thereby expanding it permanently to leave a residual circumferential compression in the bore material upon removal of the expanding tool. A similar effect results from applying an initial over-pressure to a long thick-walled cylinder in an autofrettage process. Both treatments are employed to enhance the fatigue resistance when the service loading upon the disc or cylinder amounts to a cyclic, circumferential tension within its bore. Strain gauges bonded to the entry face of the plate are used to monitor the circumferential and radial strain distributions both during and after the swaging process. Experimental results presented for swaging of thin and thin annular discs in aluminium alloy show that the measured residual strain distributions concord with the theory for large discs with a 10/1 diameter ratio. The agreement is less satisfactory with the loss in axial symmetry for parallel-sided lugs with a width to hole diameter ratio of 4/1.  相似文献

进行基于铜柱测压和实测压力时间曲线的石油井射孔压裂实验,建立铜柱测压计的数学模型,并 采用交互式计算方法得出其作用过程的解析解。分析结果表明,井下射孔压裂过程中,压力上升沿很陡,活塞 在外部压力达到峰值时,速度很大,会继续压缩铜柱直到速度为零。活塞的运动可以分为加速和减速撞击2 个过程。活塞的最大速度决定了铜柱测压计最终测试值,且与速度成正比。射孔脉冲压力加载过程中铜柱测 压计的误差取决于压力上升时间、脉冲宽度、峰值压力等影响因素。火炮膛压加载下铜柱测压计误差较小。  相似文献

Some properties of the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations are discussed for flows impulsively started from rest by sudden application of a constant pressure gradient or by the impulsive motion of a boundary. Five illustrative examples are given. They are: unsteady flow in a circular cylinder moving parallel to its length, starting flow in a circular pipe, unsteady flow in a rotating cylinder, starting flow in a rectangular channel moving parallel to its length and unsteady flow in a channel of rectangular cross-section. It is found that the expressions of the quantities such as velocity, flux and skin friction are in series forms which may be rapidly convergent for large values of the time but slowly convergent for small values of the time or vice versa. It is shown that if their expressions can be found for one of large values of the time or small values of the time, these expressions can be used for the other.  相似文献

激波管是一种具有结构简单、参数可调范围大和使用方便等特点的气体动力学试验装置。因此,它在跨声速和超声速流的实验研究中得以广泛地应用。但由于激波管中气流的持续时间很短(通常为毫秒量级),所以在激波管中直接测量试验模型上的压力分布等气动参数将是十分困难的。本文利用马赫-曾德干涉仪在激波管中拍摄出激波在二维圆柱上的绕射和反射时的干涉图,直接给出了整个流场的密度分布。再由波后气流满足等熵关系式,可以计算得到流场的压力分布和非定常阻力的大小。  相似文献

采用水作为工质, 实验研究入口或出口端加入圆柱扰流的不同高宽比多槽道散热器的压降特性; 结果表明: 单位长度压降随雷诺数成线性关系. 提出了雷诺数、水力学直径和槽道高宽比的拟合准则; 拟合公式在实验数据误差范围内很好反应类似系统的流阻特性. 对于线切割小槽道, 其摩阻系数和雷诺数成反比, 且较圆管理论值偏大; 对线切割槽道阻力特性分析发现, 表面粗糙度是其最主要的影响因素, 而扰流对其影响较小; 在槽道前部设置扰流柱可以增强换热.   相似文献

火炮膛压作为火炮和弹药的内弹道重要参数,在研制、生产、交付、存储校验等环节都需要测量。针对当前同时采用放入式铜柱测压器和电子测压器测量某一批弹药时,电子测压器峰值出现散布较大,而铜柱测压法一致性好的问题,在分析两种测压法测压原理的基础上,利用铜柱动态校准数据作用到其ANSYS模型上修正了铜柱的Johnson-Cook模型参数;分析发现出现差异时电子测压器测量的压力变化率时程曲线不同,铜柱实际测试形变量与施加压力时程曲线作用于模型得到的形变量一致。研究表明:同时测量某一批弹药时,电子测压器比铜柱测压器出现压力峰值散布大的原因是由膛压上升过程变化率不同导致铜柱的应变率不同造成的。  相似文献

This paper presents a numerical study of a two‐dimensional time‐dependent flow around a cylinder. Its main objective is to provide accurate reference values for the maximal drag and lift coefficient at the cylinder and for the pressure difference between the front and the back of the cylinder at the final time. A single cylinder and two tandem cylinder configurations with longitudinal pitch ratios L/D=1.75 and 2.5 were rigidly mounted in an open circuit wind tunnel and a standing acoustic pressure wave was imposed so that the acoustic particle velocity was normal to both the cylinder axis and the mean flow velocity. The effect of sound on the vortex-shedding was investigated for various amplitudes by means of pressure taps on the cylinders and wake hot-wire probes. These tests show that applied sound can entrain and shift the natural vortex-shedding frequency to the frequency of excitation and produce nonlinearities in the wake. The lock-in envelope for the tandem cylinders is considerably larger than for the single cylinder. The lock-in range for the smaller tandem cylinder spacing was broader still than either the single cylinder, or the L/D=2.5 tandem cylinder case. The pressure and hot-wire measurements show for the single cylinder, and tandem cylinder configuration with pitch ratio L/D=2.5, that there was a phase jump near the coincidence of the vortex-shedding frequency and the excitation frequency, while there was no jump for the pitch ratio of 1.75. As well, the applied sound field was also noted to induce vortex-shedding in the gap for the L/D=2.5 case, while no vortex-shedding was noted for the smaller pitch ratio.  相似文献

基于Fluent 软件平台,采用数值模拟方法对非稳态圆柱体结构尾流流动特性进行了研究.对在Re = 50~200范围内,双旋转附属圆柱的转速对主圆柱体尾流流动特性的影响进行了分析.研究结果表明:随着附属圆柱旋转速率的增加,主圆柱体表面所受阻力系数平均值与均方根值、升力系数均方根值均会减小.同时,旋转速率的变化对柱体结构表面压力分布的影响显著,压力系数在附属圆柱的位置产生了跳跃性变化.另外,当附属圆柱转速达到临界值时,尾流涡街变窄,涡脱落现象消失,并且系统的能量效率到达最佳状态.  相似文献

基于三维SPH 方法,对传统链表搜索算法进行了变光滑长度改进,并提出了具有较好稳定性的多 相物质交界面的处理方法,模拟了三维无限域水下爆炸问题,验证了改进的三维SPH 方法模拟水下爆炸问题 的可行性和有效性。在此基础上,建立了水下爆炸三维数值模型,模拟了近自由面水下爆炸过程,研究了冲击 波传播特征、自由面下压力场和能量场特性以及水柱的产生过程。结果表明:自由面可将冲击波压力峰值和 压力冲量最大衰减到1/3和1/7;爆深的增加会导致压力比和冲量比的等值柱面曲率变小,产生的水柱也逐 渐由破碎的喷柱向高而窄的水冢过渡。  相似文献

Detailed experimental studies are performed on the postbuckling behavior of circular cylindrical shells under hydrostatic pressure, by using lap-jointed polyester test cylinders with radius 100 mm, thickness 0.25 mm and lengths ranging from 23 to 165 mm. Connections of the edge shortening and radial displacement with applied pressures as well as wave forms for typical postbuckling configurations are determined for various values of the shell curvature parameterZ ranging from 20 to 1000. It is found that the buckling pressure and the corresponding wave number for each cylinder compare favorably with those theoretically predicted, and that the minimum pressure after buckling decreases with the increase inZ, until it becomes about 70 percent of the theoretical buckling pressure for long shells withZ greater than 200.  相似文献

The shadow and interferometric methods and the laser probe method are used to investigate crossflow past a cylinder on the free-stream Mach number interval M a =0.5–1.2 for subcritical Reynolds numbers Re d and various initial steam states. Detailed pressure distributions are obtained and the pressure fluctuations on the cylinder surface are measured. The dependence of the Strouhal number on the velocity and thermodynamic parameters of the flow are determined. In single-phase steam flow past a cylinder the greatest fluctuations occur in the separation zone in regimes corresponding to transonic drag crisis. It is shown that spontaneous condensation in the turbulent wake and local supersonic zones may cause an increase in the periodic pressure fluctuations in the separation zone, the maximum increase in the fluctuations being noted when the critical pressure ratio is reached at the rear of the cylinder. The initial wetness of the steam has the greatest effect on the periodic separation characteristics at subsonic flow velocities, and in the case of supersonic flow leads to a substantial increase in the level of the low-frequency pressure fluctuations at the front of the cylinder.(deceased)Moscow.
