The aeroelastic behavior of wing models is nonlinear particularly in the transonic speed range. The interaction between aerodynamic and structural forces can lead to the occurrence of Limit-Cycle Oscillations (LCOs). If in addition the wing model is flexible and backward swept, the kinematic coupling between bending and torsion makes the situation even more complex.In the research project “Aerostabil” such a wing was investigated, which was equipped with pressure transducers in three sections and accelerometers. The experiments were performed in the adaptive test section of the transonic wind tunnel TWG in Göttingen. Already Dietz et al. (2003) have reported about experimental details and preliminary results. Based on these data Bendiksen (2008) studied numerically LCO-flutter behavior using a very similar, theoretical model (G-wing) and Stickan et al. (2014) used the original data as a LCO flutter test case. The influence of flexibility on the steady aerodynamics of the wing was described in Schewe & Mai (2018). In this paper now the flutter experiments with the same flexible model were analyzed systematically in the transonic range 0.84 <Ma <0.89 and for six angles of attack from 1.46°to 2.7°. Maps of stability, LCO amplitudes and instantaneous pressure distributions are presented. It was found that unstable regions are islands, whose extent depends on the angle of attack. A LCO test case, already treated in the literature is examined in more detail. The analysis of the time functions showed that during LCO-flutter the motion induced aerodynamic sectional lift forces particularly in the outer wing are asymmetric and thus acting as amplitude limiter. The reason for the asymmetry lies in the shock/boundary layer interaction. The test case, containing the stages of built-up and the transition to the limit cycle provides an excellent opportunity for improving our knowledge about LCOs and for code validation purposes.  相似文献

The limit cycle oscillation (LCO) behaviors of control surface buzz in transonic flow are studied. Euler equations are employed to obtain the unsteady aerodynamic forces for Type B and Type C buzz analyses, and an all-movable control surface model, a wing/control surface model and a three-dimensional wing with a full-span control surface are adopted in the study. Aerodynamic and structural describing functions are used to deal with aerodynamic and structural nonlinearities, respectively. Then the buzz speed and buzz frequency are obtained by V-g method. The LCO behavior of the transonic control surface buzz system with linear structure exhibits subcritical or supercritical bifurcation at different Mach numbers. For nonlinear structural model with a free-play nonlinearity in the control surface deflection stiffness, the double LCO phenomenon is observed in certain range of flutter speed. The free-play nonlinearity changes the stability of LCOs at small amplitudes and turns the unstable LCO into a stable one. The LCO behavior is dominated by the aerodynamic nonlinearity for the case with large control surface oscillation amplitude but by the structural nonlinearity for the case with small amplitude. Good agreements between LCO behaviors obtained by the present method and available experimental data show that our study may help to explain the experimental observation in wind tunnel tests and to understand the physical mechanism of transonic control surface buzz.  相似文献

The authors investigate limit-cycle oscillations of a wing/store configuration. Unlike typical aeroelastic studies that are based upon a linearized form of the governing equations, herein full system nonlinearities are retained, and include transonic flow effects, coupled responses from the structure, and store-related kinematics and dynamics. Unsteady aerodynamic loads are modeled with the equations from transonic small disturbance theory. The structural dynamics for the cantilevered wing are modeled by the nonlinear equations of motion for a beam. The effects of general store-placement are modeled by the nonlinear equations of motion related to the position-induced nonlinear kinematics. Chordwise deformations of the wing surface, as well as pylon and store flexibility, are assumed negligible. Nonlinear responses are studied by examining bifurcation and related response characteristics using direct simulation. Particular attention is given to cases for which large-time, time-dependent behavior is dependent on initial conditions, as observed for some configurations in flight test. Comparisons of results in which selective nonlinearities are excluded indicate that the accurate prediction of nonlinear responses such as limit cycle oscillations (LCOs) may depend upon consideration of all nonlinearities related to the full system.  相似文献

事先建立一个低阶的非线性、非定常气动力模型是开展非线性流场中气动弹性问题研究的一个捷径. 基于CFD方法, 通过计算结构在流场中自激振动的响应来获得系统的训练数据. 采用带输出反馈的循环RBF神经网络, 建立时域非线性气动力降阶模型.耦合结构运动方程和非线性气动力降阶模型, 采用杂交的线性多步方法计算结构在不同速度(动压)下的响应历程, 从而获得模型极限环随速度(动压)变化的特性. 两个典型的跨音速极限环型颤振算例表明, 基于气动力降阶模型方法的计算结果与直接CFD仿真结果吻合很好, 与后者相比其将计算效率提高了1~2个数量级.   相似文献

Self-induced wing rock of a delta wing, in particular, in the presence of external disturbances are studied by means of numerical simulations of a separated flow of an ideal incompressible fluid around a delta wing. The results obtained are compared with experimental data. The vortex nature and the mechanism of self-induced oscillations are studied. Regions of synchronization of the aerodynamic self-oscillatory system in the presence of external disturbances are identified. Methods of suppression of self-induced wing rock are proposed.  相似文献

The flow around wing 445.6 was modelled using Navier–Stokes equations and S-A model. The wing vibration and flow mesh deformation were computed using a fast dynamic mesh technology proposed by our own group. Wing 445.6 flutter was analysed through a strong coupling between the wing vibration and flow. The reduced flutter velocity was predicted and results are in good agreement with the experimental data. It is found that the subsonic flutter is mainly induced by the flow separation and the transonic and supersonic flutter are mainly caused by the oscillating shock wave and its induced flow separation. The positive aerodynamic work increases due to the oscillating shock wave when the subsonic flow becomes transonic reducing the flutter velocity. While the positive aerodynamic work induced by the oscillating shock wave decreases when the transonic flow becomes supersonic increasing the flutter velocity. That is why the transonic dip exists.  相似文献

This paper describes two methods for the analysis of aeroelastic systems with complex piecewise nonlinear structural stiffness. These methods are tested and compared for low speed incompressible and transonic flows. The first technique employed in this paper uses a new application of the analytical solution of linear algebraic systems, the second technique utilises logarithmic and tanh functions to both represent discrete nonlinearities and to act as a switch between different nonlinear areas. The transonic aerodynamic models used are generated using an eigenvalue realisation algorithm (ERA) which produces reduced order models (ROMs) from the pulse responses of time linearised Euler simulations. It is shown that such aerodynamic models are well suited to use with continuation methods. Flutter boundaries and limit cycle oscillations can then be rapidly identified with good accuracy.  相似文献

Limit cycle oscillations (LCO) of wings on certain modern high performance aircraft have been observed in flight and in wind tunnel experiments. Whether the physical mechanism that gives rise to this behavior is a fluid or structural nonlinearity or both is still uncertain. It has been shown that an aeroelastic theoretical model with only a structural nonlinearity can predict accurately the limit cycle behavior at low subsonic flow for a plate-like wing at zero angle of attack. Changes in the limit cycle and flutter behavior as the angle of attack is varied have also been observed in flight. It has been suggested that this sensitivity to angle of attack is due to a fluid nonlinearity. In this investigation, we study the flutter and limit cycle behavior of a wing in low subsonic flow at small steady angles of attack. Experimental results are compared to those predicted using an aeroelastic theoretical model with only a structural nonlinearity. Results from both experiment and theory show a change in flutter speed as the steady angle of attack is varied. Also the LCO magnitude increased at a given velocity as the angle of attack was increased for both the experiment and theory. While not proving that the observed sensitivity to angle of attack of LCO in aircraft is due to a structural nonlinearity, the results do show that a change in the aeroelastic behavior at angles of attack can be caused by a structural nonlinearity as well as a fluid nonlinearity. In this paper, only structural nonlinearities are considered, but an extension to include aerodynamic nonlinearities would be very worthwhile.  相似文献

Numerical aeroelastic simulation of a high-aspect-ratio transport type wing model in transonic region is presented. The aeroelastic responses of the wing are extracted by integrating compressible thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations coupled with the equations of motion of the wing structure, in a time dependent manner. The Yee-Harten implicit TVD scheme and the Wilson's θ method are employed to integrate these equations, respectively. Flutter boundaries were found for Mach number range, 0.7 to 0.85 and the results were compared with experimental flutter boundaries. Futhermore, Limit Cycle Oscillations were found and the characteristics of the flutter and limit cycle oscillations are investigated and discussed.  相似文献

This paper addresses by means of high-resolution numerical simulations and experimental quantitative imaging the three-dimensional unsteady separation process induced by large-amplitude heaving oscillations of a low-aspect-ratio wing under low-Reynolds-number conditions. Computed results are found to be in good agreement with experimental flow visualizations and PIV measurements on selected cross-flow planes. The complex unsteady three-dimensional flow structure generated during dynamic stall of the low-aspect-ratio wing is elucidated. The process is characterized by the generation of a leading-edge vortex system which is pinned at the front corners of the plate and which exhibits intense transverse flow toward the wing centerline during its initial stages of development. This vortex detaches from the corners and evolves into an newly found arch-type structure. The legs of the arch vortex move along the surface toward the wing centerline and reconnect forming a ring-like structure which is shed as the next plunging cycle begins. Vortex breakdown, total collapse and reformation of the wing tip vortices are also observed at various stages of the heaving motion. At the relatively high value of reduced frequency considered, these basic flow elements of the complex three-dimensional dynamic stall process are found to persist over a range of Reynolds numbers.  相似文献

This paper presents an algorithm to compute the aerodynamic forces and moments of an aeroelastic wing undergoing large amplitude heave and pitch limit cycle oscillations. The technique is based on inverting the equations of motion to solve for the lift and moment experienced by the wing. Bayesian inferencing is used to estimate the structural parameters of the system and generate credible intervals on the lift and moment calculations. The inversion technique is applied to study the affect of mass coupling on limit cycle oscillation amplitude. Examining the force, power, and energy of the system, the reasons for amplitude growth with wind speed can be determined. The results demonstrate that the influence of mass coupling on the pitch–heave difference is the driving factor in amplitude variation. The pitch–heave phase difference not only controls how much aerodynamic energy is transferred into the system but also how the aerodynamic energy is distributed between the degrees of freedom.  相似文献

传统气动弹性的时域计算耗费了大量时间,为了提高计算效率,本文发展了基于边界元方法的降阶模型技术。首先基于边界元方法建立非定常流场的求解模型,结合特征值分析技术建立了非定常气动力的低阶模型;然后,利用边界元方法建立了气动网格和结构网格之间的信息转换矩阵;最后将非定常气动力降阶模型和结构动力学方程联合,建立了气动弹性系统的低阶状态空间模型。将所发展的降阶模型方法应用于NACA0012翼型的非定常气动力求解中,结果表明降阶模型可以在保证原系统计算精度的同时提高了计算效率;将降阶模型技术应用到三维机翼的气动弹性响应计算中,在系统阶数仅为12阶的情况下可以得到与原系统一致的极限环响应,说明降阶模型技术在求解气动弹性问题中的巨大优势。  相似文献

In transonic flow conditions, the shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction and flow separations on wing upper surface induce flow instabilities, ‘buffet’, and then the buffeting (structure vibrations). This phenomenon can greatly influence the aerodynamic performance. These flow excitations are self‐sustained and lead to a surface effort due to pressure fluctuations. They can produce enough energy to excite the structure. The objective of the present work is to predict this unsteady phenomenon correctly by using unsteady Navier–Stokes‐averaged equations with a time‐dependent turbulence model based on the suitable (kε) turbulent eddy viscosity model. The model used is based on the turbulent viscosity concept where the turbulent viscosity coefficient () is related to local deformation and rotation rates. To validate this model, flow over a flat plate at Mach number of 0.6 is first computed, then the flow around a NACA0012 airfoil. The comparison with the analytical and experimental results shows a good agreement. The ONERA OAT15A transonic airfoil was chosen to describe buffeting phenomena. Numerical simulations are done by using a Navier–Stokes SUPG (streamline upwind Petrov–Galerkin) finite‐element solver. Computational results show the ability of the present model to predict physical phenomena of the flow oscillations. The unsteady shock wave/boundary layer interaction is described. This article presents numerical simulations of the limit-cycle oscillation (LCO) of a cropped delta wing in order to investigate the effects of structural geometric and material nonlinearities on aeroelastic behavior. In the computational model, the structural part included both the geometric nonlinearity that arises from large deflections, and the material nonlinearity that originates from plasticity. The Euler equations were employed in the fluid part to describe the transonic aerodynamics. Moreover, the load transfer was conducted using a 3-D interpolating procedure, and the interfaces between the structural and aerodynamic domains were constructed in the form of an exact match. The flutter and LCO behaviors of the cropped delta wing were simulated using the coupling model, and the results were compared with existing experimental measurements. For lower dynamic pressures, the geometric nonlinearity provided the proper mechanism for the development of the LCO, and the numerical results correlated with the experimental values. For higher dynamic pressures, the material nonlinearity led to a rapid rise in the LCO amplitude, and the simulated varying trend was consistent with the experimental observation. This study demonstrated that the LCO of the cropped delta wing was not only closely related to geometric nonlinearity, but was also remarkably affected by material nonlinearity.  相似文献

Limit cycle oscillations of a two-dimensional panel in low subsonic flow have been studied theoretically and experimentally. The panel is clamped at its leading edge and free at its trailing edge. A structural non-linearity arises in both the bending stiffness and the mass inertia. Two-dimensional incompressible (linear) vortex lattice aerodynamic theory and a corresponding reduced order aerodynamic model were used to calculate the linear flutter boundary and also the limit cycle oscillations (that occur beyond the linear flutter boundary).  相似文献

The transonic unsteady flow of a gas through a cascade of thin, slightly curved plates is quite complex and has received little study. The main difficulties are associated with the nonlinear dependence of the aerodynamic characteristics on the plate thickness. In [1] it is shown that, for a single thin plate performing high-frequency oscillations in a transonic gas stream, the variation of the unsteady aerodynamic characteristics with plate thickness may be neglected. For a plate cascade, the flow pattern is complicated by the aerodynamic interference between the plates, which may depend significantly on their shape. A solution of the problem of transonic flow past a cascade without account for the plate thickness has been obtained by Hamamoto [2].The objective of the present study is the clarification of the dependence of the aerodynamic characteristics of a plate cascade on plate thickness in transonic unsteady flow regimes. The nonlinear equation for the velocity potential is linearized under the assumption that the motionless plate causes significantly greater disturbances in the stream than those due to the oscillations. A similar linearization was carried out for a single plate in [3]. The aerodynamic interference between the plates is determined by the method presented in [4]. As an example, the aerodynamic forces acting on a plate oscillating in a duct and in a free jet are calculated.  相似文献

Nonlinear dynamic behaviors of an aeroelastic airfoil with free-play in transonic air flow are studied. The aeroelastic response is obtained by using time-marching approach with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and reduced order model (ROM) techniques. Several standardized tests of transonic flutter are presented to validate numerical approaches. It is found that in time-marching approach with CFD technique, the time-step size has a significant effect on the calculated aeroelastic response, especially for cases considering both structural and aerodynamic nonlinearities. The nonlinear dynamic behavior for the present model in transonic air flow is greatly different from that in subsonic regime where only simple harmonic oscillations are observed. Major features of the responses in transonic air flow at different flow speeds can be summarized as follows. The aeroelastic responses with the amplitude near the free-play are dominated by single degree of freedom flutter mechanism, and snap-though phenomenon can be observed when the air speed is low. The bifurcation diagram can be captured by using ROM technique, and it is observed that the route to chaos for the present model is via period-doubling, which is essentially caused by the free-play nonlinearity. When the flow speed approaches the linear flutter speed, the aeroelastic system vibrates with large amplitude, which is dominated by the aerodynamic nonlinearity. Effects of boundary layer and airfoil profile on the nonlinear responses of the aeroelastic system are also discussed.  相似文献

In the present work, an efficient surrogate-based framework is developed for the prediction of motion-induced surface pressure fluctuations and integral force and moment coefficients. The model construction is realized by performing forced-motion computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, while the result is processed via the proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) to obtain the predominant flow modes. Subsequently, a nonlinear system identification is carried out with respect to the applied excitation and the resulting POD coefficients. For the input/output model identification task, a recurrent local linear neuro-fuzzy approach is employed in order to capture the linear and nonlinear characteristics of the dynamic system. Once the reduced-order model (ROM) is trained, it can substitute the flow solver within unsteady aerodynamic or aeroelastic simulation frameworks for a given configuration at fixed freestream conditions. For demonstration purposes, the ROM approach is applied to the LANN wing in high subsonic and transonic flow. Due to the characteristic lambda-shock system, the unsteady aerodynamic surface pressure distribution is dominated by nonlinear effects. Numerical investigations show a good correlation between the results obtained by the ROM methodology in comparison to the full-order CFD solution. In addition, the surrogate approach yields a significant speed-up regarding unsteady aerodynamic calculations, which is beneficial for multidisciplinary computations.  相似文献

A typical airfoil section system with freeplay is investigated in the paper. The classic quasi-steady flow model is applied to calculate the aerodynamics, and a piecewise-stiffness model is adopted to characterize the nonlinearity of the airfoil section’s freeplay. There are two critical speeds in the system, i.e., a lower critical speed, above which the system might generate limit cycle oscillation, and an upper critical one, above which the system will flutter. Then a Poincaré map is constructed for the limit cycle oscillations by using piecewise-linear solutions with and without contact in the system. Through analysis of the Poincaré map, a series of equations which can determine the frequencies of period-1 limit cycle oscillations at any flight velocity are derived. Finally, these analytic results are compared to the results of numerical simulations, and a good agreement is found. The effects of freeplay value and contact stiffness ratio on the limit cycle oscillation are also analyzed through numerical simulations of the original system. Moreover, there exist multi-periods limit cycle oscillations and even complicated "chaotic" oscillations may occur, which are usually found in smooth nonlinear dynamic systems.  相似文献

采用时域计算分析方法进行了机翼跨音速颤振特性研究。在结构运动网格的基础上,采用格点格式有限体积方法进行空间离散和双时间全隐式方法进行时间推进求解雷诺平均N-S方程。针对流动粘性分别应用了SST湍流模型和SSG雷诺应力模型,通过对跨音速标模算例AGARD445.6机翼的计算结果与实验值的对比分析,其中应用SST湍流模型得到的颤振速度与实验值最为接近,特别是在跨音速段平均相对误差在3%以内;并且计算结果整体上反映了跨音速颤振"凹坑"物理特性,验证了方法的有效性。  相似文献
