本文介绍在水洞中做的作用于波浪形边界附近的水动力特性的实验研究。在基于圆柱模型直径的 R_c=10~4~1.9×10~4 范围内,测量了圆柱在波谷、波峰和不同距离上的阻力、升力脉动变化的频率。流谱显示实验揭示了尾流结构随距离-直径比 G/D 的变化情况及圆柱与边界相互作用的机制。  相似文献

Three-dimensional Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) and Large Eddy Simulation (LES) are performed to investigate the shear effects on flow around a circular cylinder at Reynolds numbers of Re=60–1000. The shear parameter, β, which is based on the velocity gradient, cylinder diameter and upstream mean velocity at the center plane of the cylinder, varies from 0 to 0.30. Variations of Strouhal number, drag and lift coefficients, and unsteady wake structures with shear parameter are studied, along with their dependence on Reynolds number. The presented simulation provides detailed information for the flow field around a circular cylinder in shear flow. This study shows that the Strouhal number exhibits no significant variation with shear parameter. The stagnation point moves to the high-velocity side almost linearly with shear parameter, and this result mainly influences the aerodynamic forces acting on a circular cylinder in shear flow. Both the Reynolds number and shear parameter influence the movement of the stagnation point and separation point. Mode A wake instability is suppressed into parallel vortex shedding mode at a certain shear parameter. The lift force increases with increasing shear parameter and acts from the high-velocity side to the low-velocity side. In addition, a simple method to estimate the lift force coefficient in shear flow is provided.  相似文献

Passive wake control behind a circular cylinder in uniform flow is studied by numerical simulation for ReD ranging from 80 to 300. Two small control cylinders, with diameter d/D=1/8, are placed at x/D=0.5 and y/D=±0.6. Unlike the 1990 results of Strykowski and Sreenivasan, in the present study, the vortex street behind the main cylinder still exists but the fluctuating lift and the form drag on the main cylinder reduces significantly and monotonously as the Reynolds number increases from 80 to 300. Obstruction of the control cylinders to the incoming flow deflects part of the fluid to pass through the gap between the main and control cylinders, forming two symmetric streams. These streams not only eliminate the flow separation along the rear surface of the main cylinder, they also merge toward the wake centerline to create an advancing momentum in the immediate near-wake region. These two effects significantly reduce the wake width behind the main cylinder and lead to monotonous decrease of the form drag as the Reynolds number increases. As the Reynolds number gets higher, a large amount of the downstream advancing momentum significantly delays the vortex formation farther downstream, leading to a more symmetric flow structure in the near-wake region of the main cylinder. As the Reynolds number increases from 80 to 300, both increasing symmetry of the flow structure in the near-wake and significant delay of the vortex formation are the main reasons for the fluctuating lift to decrease monotonously.  相似文献

The numerical investigation of the two-dimensional laminar flow past two ro- tating circular cylinders in the tandem arrangement is conducted by the lattice Boltzmann method. The numerical strategy is used for dealing with curved and moving boundaries of the second-order accuracy for velocity and temperature fields. The effects of various rotational speed ratios and gap spacing are studied with the Reynolds number of 100 and the Prandtl number of 0.71. A varied range of rotational speed ratios are investigated for four different gap spacing, i.e., 3.0, 1.5, 0.7, and 0.2. The results show that, for the first cylinder, the lift and drag coefficients for large gap spacing are similar to those for a single cylinder; for the second cylinder, the lift coefficient descends with the increase in the angular velocity for all gap spacing, while the drag coefficient ascends except for the gap spacing of 3.0. The results of the averaged periodic Nusselt number on the surface of the cylinders show that, for small distances between the cylinders and low angular velocities, conduction is a dominant mechanism of heat transfer, but for large distances and high angular velocities, convection is the main mechanism of heat transfer.  相似文献

Passive control of the wake behind a circular cylinder in uniform flow is studied by numerical simulation at ReD=80. Two small control cylinders are placed symmetrically along the separating shear layers at various stream locations. In the present study, the detailed flow mechanisms that lead to a significant reduction in the fluctuating lift but maintain the shedding vortex street are clearly revealed. When the stream locations lie within 0.8≤XC/D≤3.0, the alternate shedding vortex street remains behind the control cylinders. In this case, the symmetric standing eddies immediately behind the main cylinder and the downstream delay of the shedding vortex street are the two primary mechanisms that lead to a 70–80% reduction of the fluctuating lift on the main cylinder. Furthermore, the total drag of all the cylinders still has a maximum 5% reduction. This benefit is primarily attributed to the significant reduction of the pressure drag on the main cylinder. Within XC/D>3.0, the symmetry of the standing eddy breaks down and the staggered vortex street is similar to that behind a single cylinder at the same Reynolds number. In the latter case, the mean pressure drag and the fluctuating lift coefficients on the main cylinder will recover to the values of a single cylinder.  相似文献

在雷诺数Re=200的情况,利用Maxwell方程直接数值计算表面包覆电极与磁极圆柱体产生的电磁力分布,将其加入到动量方程中,在各种电磁力作用参数和电磁极宽度的组合下,对表面覆盖电磁极圆柱体在弱电解质中的绕流场结构及其升阻力特性进行了数值模拟与分析.结果表明,当电磁极宽度较小时,圆柱体绕流场的分离点越容易接近后驻点,而电磁力对总阻力的影响并不明显,但对压差和摩擦阻力均有明显影响.当电磁极宽度较大时,圆柱体尾部区域越容易产生射流现象,而且总阻力随电磁力作用参数和电磁极宽度增大而减小.在电磁力尚不足以完全抑制周期性涡脱落的情况下,升力幅值随电磁力作用参数增大而减小,但随电磁极宽度则先减小后略有增加,升力脉动频率则均随电磁力作用参数和电磁极宽度增大而增加.研究表明,电磁力可以有效地改善圆柱体绕流场结构,达到减小圆柱体阻力并抑制其脉动升力之目的,因此是圆柱型结构的一种有效流动控制手段.  相似文献

The active control of flow past an elliptical cylinder using the deep reinforcement learning (DRL) method is conducted. The axis ratio of the elliptical cylinder $\Gamma$ varies from 1.2 to 2.0, and four angles of attack $\alpha=0^\circ, 15^\circ, 30^\circ$, and $45^\circ$ are taken into consideration for a fixed Reynolds number $Re=100$. The mass flow rates of two synthetic jets imposed on different positions of the cylinder $\theta_1$ and $\theta_2$ are trained to control the flow. The optimal jet placement that achieves the highest drag reduction is determined for each case. For a low axis ratio ellipse, i.e., $\Gamma=1.2$, the controlled results at $\alpha=0^\circ$ are similar to those for a circular cylinder with control jets applied at $\theta_1=90^\circ$ and $\theta_2=270^\circ$. It is found that either applying the jets asymmetrically or increasing the angle of attack can achieve a higher drag reduction rate, which, however, is accompanied by increased fluctuation. The control jets elongate the vortex shedding, and reduce the pressure drop. Meanwhile, the flow topology is modified at a high angle of attack. For an ellipse with a relatively higher axis ratio, i.e., $\Gamma\ge1.6$, the drag reduction is achieved for all the angles of attack studied. The larger the angle of attack is, the higher the drag reduction ratio is. The increased fluctuation in the drag coefficient under control is encountered, regardless of the position of the control jets. The control jets modify the flow topology by inducing an external vortex near the wall, causing the drag reduction. The results suggest that the DRL can learn an active control strategy for the present configuration.  相似文献

Drag Reduction of a Circular Cylinder Using an Upstream Rod   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Experimental studies on the drag reduction of the circular cylinder were conducted by pressure measurement at a Reynolds number of 82 000 (based on the cylinder diameter). A rod was placed upstream of and parallel to the cylinder to control the flow around the cylinder. The upstream rod can reduce the resultant force of the cylinder at various spacing between the rod and the cylinder for α < 5(α defined as the staggered angle of the rod and the cylinder). For α > 10, the resultant force coefficient has a large value, so the upstream rod cannot reduce the force on the cylinder any more. For α = 0 and d/D = 0.5 (where d and D are the diameter of the rod and the cylinder, respectively), the maximum drag of the cylinder reduces to 2.34% that of the single cylinder. The mechanism of the drag reduction of the cylinder with an upstream rod in tandem was presented by estimating the local contributions to the drag reduction of the pressure variation. In the staggered arrangement, the flow structures have five flow patterns (they are the cavity mode, the wake splitting mode, the wake merge mode, the weak boundary layer interaction mode and the negligible interaction mode) according to the pressure distribution and the hydrogen bubble flow visualization. The half plane upwind of the cylinder can be divided to four regions, from which one can easily estimates the force acting on the circular cylinder with an upstream rod in staggered arrangement.  相似文献

A water drop-shaped fairing is applied to control the wake behind a circular cylinder and to suppress the formation of Karman vortex street in this paper. The results are evaluated using high resolution CFD technique. A finite-volume total variation diminishing (TVD) approach based upon the recently proposed elemental velocity vector transformation (EVVT) method, which aims at solving the incompressible turbulent flow for irregular boundary conditions with renormalization group (RNG) turbulence model, is used to simulate the flow field around circular cylinder systems. The calculations are carried out with cylinder systems with and without fairings, while the fairings have different top shape angles within the range of 30°~90°. The Reynolds number ranges from 1000 to 50 000. It is shown that the simulation results of present numerical method reaches good agreement with the available experimental and numerical simulation data of typical circular cylinder flow and a fixed fairing cylinder system flow. Compared with bare cylinder, the faired bluff structures can obviously reduce the lift and drag forces and alter the vortex shedding frequency. Overall, the mean drag coefficient can be reduced up to about (10–31)% and the RMS lift coefficient can be reduced up to (30–99)% for all faired systems at given Reynolds numbers. The influence of Reynolds number and attack angles on the flow field characters of bare cylinder and faired cylinders is also discussed. The faired structures with shape angles within 30°~45°under zero-attack-angle-inflow case are considered as the optimal structures, with which the mean drag coefficient and the RMS lift coefficient can be reduced up to (26–31)% and (98–99)%, respectively. Considering the influence of attack angles on lift and drag coefficients reduction, 75° shaped faired structure may be taken as a proper option.  相似文献

A large eddy simulation (LES) study was conducted to investigate the three-dimensional characteristics of the turbulent flow past wavy cylinders with yaw angles from 0° to 60° at a subcritical Reynolds number of 3900. The relationships between force coefficients and vortex shedding frequency with yaw angles for both wavy cylinders and circular cylinders were investigated. Experimental measurements were also performed for the validation of the present LES results. Comparing with corresponding yawed circular cylinders at similar Reynolds number, significant differences in wake vortex patterns between wavy cylinder and circular cylinder were observed at small yaw angles. The difference in wake pattern becomes insignificant at large yaw angles. The mean drag coefficient and the Strouhal number obey the independence principle for circular cylinders at yaw angle less than 45°, while the independence principle was found to be unsuitable for yawed wavy cylinders. In general, the mean drag coefficients and the fluctuating lift coefficients of a yawed wavy cylinder are less than those of a corresponding yawed circular cylinder at the same flow condition. However, with the increase of the yaw angle, the advantageous effect of wavy cylinder on force and vibration control becomes insignificant.  相似文献

A numerical study on the laminar vortex shedding and wake flow due to a porous‐wrapped solid circular cylinder has been made in this paper. The cylinder is horizontally placed, and is subjected to a uniform cross flow. The aim is to control the vortex shedding and drag force through a thin porous wrapper around a solid cylinder. The flow field is investigated for a wide range of Reynolds number in the laminar regime. The flow in the porous zone is governed by the Darcy–Brinkman–Forchheimer extended model and the Navier–Stokes equations in the fluid region. A control volume approach is adopted for computation of the governing equations along with a second‐order upwind scheme, which is used to discretize the convective terms inside the fluid region. The inclusion of a thin porous wrapper produces a significant reduction in drag and damps the oscillation compared with a solid cylinder. Dependence of Strouhal number and drag coefficient on porous layer thickness at different Reynolds number is analyzed. The development of a steady lift force on a stranded cable, which is yawed with respect to a flow, is a unique characteristic of a cable when compared to a circular cylinder. Comparisons of lift and normal drag coefficients and wake characteristics were made between stranded cable models and the cylinder. These were based upon surface pressure and hot-wire measurements and flow visualization studies conducted in a low speed wind tunnel on rigid cables and cylinders. The models were yawed to four different yaw angles and tested within the Reynolds number range of 5,000 and 50,000. Pressure profiles for the yawed cables indicated that the lift force is directed towards the side where the primary strands are more nearly aligned with the flow. The pressure profiles also indicated that the lift force is generated by asymmetric separation. The small scale irregularities associated with wires within individual strands also appeared to have an effect on the cable's lift and drag characteristics. Results show that cables have significantly different shedding characteristics and near-wake shear layer structure when compared to the circular cylinder. 通过求解采用ALE方法描述的运动坐标系Navier-Stokes方程组,分析均匀来流下雷诺 数为150的静止和流向振荡的圆柱绕流. 主要研究了强迫振荡频率和较大振幅比 (A/D=0.3-1.2)对圆柱升力、阻力变化特性以及涡脱落模态的影响. 研究表 明,流向振荡圆柱绕流存在多种涡脱落模态,如对称S以及反对称A-I, A-III, A-IV等多种形式;比较研究结果,拓展了各模态下对应的锁定区域,并将其分为5个 子区;A-I模态中圆柱受力较以前所知更复杂;通过分析计算结果,发现最大加速度 比Af_{c}^{2}/Df_{s0}^{2}可能是涡脱落模态(尤其是对称S模态)最有效的控制参数.  相似文献

对串列三圆柱体双自由度涡激振动问题进行了数值计算, 并分析了雷诺数、固有频率比和约化速度对串列三圆柱体结构动力响应及频谱特性的影响. 研究发现: 雷诺数、频率比对上游圆柱的振幅和流体力系数的影响较小. 中游圆柱频率锁定区域随着雷诺数的增大而增大, 其动力响应受上游圆柱尾流的影响较大, 但频率比的影响较小. 同时, 流体力系数在约化速度较小时受雷诺数和频率比的影响较大. 另外, 下游圆柱的振幅和流体力系数受雷诺数及频率比的影响较大. 雷诺数、频率比和约化速度对圆柱流体力系数能量谱密度(PSD)曲线中主峰幅值、频谱成分及波动性的影响较大. 流体力系数PSD曲线波动性的增强, 导致圆柱运动轨迹会从"8"字形转变成不规则形状. 当频率比为2.0时, 上游圆柱尾流出现P$+$S模式, 导致其发生非对称运动, 且升、阻力系数PSD曲线主峰重合. 最后, 激励荷载平均功率值随约化速度的变化趋势与对应的结构动力响应的变化类似. 在同一约化速度区间内, 结构振动响应的强弱与位移的平均功率值成正比. 对不同约化速度区间内的升力系数功率谱密度分析时, 振动频率比($f_{s}/f_{n, y})$对结构振动响应的影响更大.   相似文献

本文通过流动显示,热线测频和流体动载荷测量在水槽中研究了绕经不同柱间距比S/D(S为双柱间距,D为柱体截面宽)串列双方柱体流动特性。实验雷诺数为Re=6×10~3,柱间距比0.5≤S/D≤10实验测量了涡脱落频率、时间平均阻力、动态阻力和动态升力。通过实验结果综合分析给出临界柱间距范围2.5≤(S/D)_(cr)≤3.0,并将串列双方柱流动随柱间距的变化划分为二种流态区。在临界柱间距,作用于双柱体的流体载荷、涡脱落频率以及流谱都发生跃变。文中分析讨论了两个流态区的特性以及在临界柱间距出现的双稳态特性。  相似文献

基于浸入边界-格子Boltzmann通量求解法,开展了雷诺数Re=100不同几何参数下单椭圆柱及串列双椭圆柱绕流流场与受力特性对比研究。结果表明,随长短轴比值的增加,单椭圆柱绕流阻力系数先减小后缓慢上升,最大升力系数则随长短轴比值的增大而减小;尾迹流动状态从周期性脱落涡到稳定对称涡。间距是影响串列圆柱及椭圆柱流场流动状态的主要因素,间距较小时,串列圆柱绕流呈周期性脱落涡状态,而椭圆柱则为稳定流动;随着间距增加,上下游圆柱及椭圆柱尾迹均出现卡门涡街现象,且串列椭圆柱临界间距大于串列圆柱。串列椭圆柱阻力的变化规律与圆柱的基本相同,上游平均阻力大于下游阻力;上游椭圆柱阻力随着间距的变大先减小,下游随间距的变大而增加,当间距达到临界间距时上下游阻力跃升,随后出现小幅度波动再逐渐增加,并趋近于相同长短轴比值下单柱体绕流的阻力。  相似文献

Two dimensional flow over a circular cylinder with an upstream control rod of same diameter is simulated in unbound condition and in wall bounded conditions. The cylinders are placed at various heights from the wall and the inter-distance between cylinders is also varied. The control rod is subjected to different rotation rates. It is found that, in unbound condition, rotating the control rod decreases the critical pitch length (S/Dcr) and increases the drag and Strouhal number of the main cylinder. In presence of plane wall, the shielding provided by the separated shear layers from the control rod in cavity regime is deteriorated due to deflection of shear layers which results in higher drag and large fluctuation of lift coefficient. However, in wake impingement regime, the binary vortices from the control rod are weakened due to diffusion of vorticity and hence, the main cylinder experiences a lower drag and small lift fluctuations than that of unbound condition. The critical height of vortex suppression (H/Dcr) is higher in cavity regime than that of wake impingement regime due to the single extended-bluff body like configuration. The rotation of control rod energizes the wall boundary layer and increases the critical height of vortex suppression. Increasing the rotational rate of control rod decreases the drag force and reduces the amplitude of lift fluctuation. Analysis of the wall shear stress distribution reveals that it suffers a sudden drop at moderate height where the normal Karman vortex shedding changes to irregular shedding consisting of single row of negative vortices. Modal structures obtained from dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) reveal that the flow structures behind the main cylinder are suppressed due to wall and the flow is dominated by the wake of control rod.  相似文献

A numerical investigation of the flow past a circular cylinder centred in a two-dimensional channel of varying width is presented. For low Reynolds numbers, the flow is steady. For higher Reynolds numbers, vortices begin to shed periodically from the cylinder. In general, the Strouhal frequency of the shedding vortices increases with blockage ratio. In addition, a two-dimensional instability of the periodic vortex shedding is found, both empirically and by means of a Floquet stability analysis. The instability leads to a beating behaviour in the lift and drag coefficients of the cylinder, which occurs at a Reynolds number higher than the critical Reynolds number for the three-dimensional mode A-type instability, but lower than a Reynolds number for any mode B-type instability.  相似文献

Semi-empirical models for unsteady lift and drag are developed to predict the spectral features of the unsteady forces on a finite-length, right circular cylinder in cross-flow. In general, the models consist of two parts; the spatial variation of r.m.s wall pressure on the cylinder, and the correlation lengths which describe the spatial extent of the correlation of the unsteady wall pressures. Experiments were conducted in a low noise wind tunnel as a function of cylinder diameter Reynolds number (19 200<Re<32 000) and the Strouhal number (0·05< St<3·33), to measure the statistics of the unsteady wall pressures on a model cylinder. These results are incorporated into the theoretical models, and predictions of the spectral characteristics of the lift and drag are made. The r.m.s. wall pressures on the cylindrical surface are found to have the largest amplitude near the cylinder end-cap, and on the rearward portion of the cylinder body. The high levels in these locations are attributed to the separated flow region over the end-cap. The circumferential and axial length-scales decrease exponentially with Strouhal number. Both length-scales exhibit maxima near the Strouhal shedding frequency of St=0·21. The axial length-scales are found to depend on the measurement reference location due to the three-dimensional flow and separated flow region near the end-cap. The unsteady lift and drag predictions using the models developed in this work agree well with previously measured unsteady force data measured on inertial hydrophones exposed to flow. The broadband unsteady lift is found to be greater than the broadband unsteady drag by nominally 3dB.  相似文献
