The development of disturbances in a boundary layer that have been induced by an external acoustic field are investigated. The problem is considered in the linear formulation. It is shown that the oscillations inside the supersonic boundary layer can have several times the intensity of the external disturbances. The susceptibility of the boundary layer to the acoustic disturbances increases with increasing Mach number. Cooling of the surface leads to a small decrease in the intensity of the longitudinal velocity oscillations in the layer. The effect of the parameters of the acoustic wave is considered, i.e., the effect of the frequency and phase velocity on the development of the disturbances.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 51–56, November–December, 1977.  相似文献

The effect of the disturbances introduced by creating a local step in the wall surface of the inlet section on boundary layer transition within the entrance length of a circular pipe is investigated. Special attention is paid to the velocity fluctuations outside the boundary layer.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 30–34, November–December, 1989.  相似文献

The nonlinear development of disturbances of the traveling wave type in the boundary layer on a flat plate is examined. The investigation is restricted to two-dimensional disturbances periodic with respect to the longitudinal space coordinate and evolving in time. Attention is concentrated on the interactions of two waves of finite amplitude with multiple wave numbers. The problem is solved by numerically integrating the Navier-Stokes equations for an incompressible fluid. The pseudospectral method used in the calculations is an extension to the multidimensional case of a method previously developed by the authors [1, 2] in connection with the study of nonlinear wave processes in one-dimensional systems. Its use makes it possible to obtain reliable results even at very large amplitudes of the velocity perturbations (up to 20% of the free-stream velocity). The time dependence of the amplitudes of the disturbances and their phase velocities is determined. It is shown that for a fairly large amplitude of the harmonic and a particular choice of wave number and Reynolds number the interacting waves are synchronized. In this case the amplitude of the subharmonic grows strongly and quickly reaches a value comparable with that for the harmonic. As distinct from the resonance effects reported in [3, 4], which are typical only of the three-dimensional problem, the effect described is essentially two-dimensional.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 37–44, March–April, 1990.  相似文献

The results of an experimental investigation of boundary layer stability in a gradient flow with a high degree of free-stream turbulence are presented. The question of the possible artificial generation, the further development and the effect on laminar-turbulent transition of instability waves (Tollmien-Schlichting waves) in the boundary layer on a wing profile is considered for a level of free-stream turbulence =1.75% of the free-stream velocity; the sensitivity of the flow to the disturbances and their control by means of boundary layer suction are investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 52–58, March–April, 1990.  相似文献

The transition flow is considered of a fibrous suspension in a pipe. The flow region consists of two subregions: at the center of the flow a plug formed by interwoven fibers and fluid moves as a rigid body; between the solid wall and the plug is a boundary layer in which the suspension is a mixture of the liquid phase and fibers separated from the plug [1–3]. In the boundary region the suspension is simulated as an anisotropic Ericksen—Leslie fluid [4, 5] which satisfies certain additional conditions. Equations are obtained for the velocity profile and drag coefficient of the pipe, which are both qualitatively and quantitatively in good agreement with the experimental results [6–8]. Within the framework of the model, a mechanism is found for reducing the drag in the flow of a fibrous suspension as compared to the drag of its liquid phase.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 91–98, September–October, 1985.  相似文献

The relative motion of rotor and stator blade rows in a turbomachine generates periodically unsteady flow on the blades due to travelling wake perturbations. To better understand the attendant wake–boundary-layer interaction a calculation procedure was developed to model the behaviour of this complex unsteady flow. Due to nonlinear interactions with the boundary layer, the travelling discrete frequency wakes were found to decrease the velocity profile shape factor. For the range of reduced frequencies examined (=0.33–9.33) the skin-friction coefficient was found to be frequency dependent. The calculated results for both steady and unsteady velocity profiles, and for skin friction compared well with experimental data. Although the agreement between measured and calculated velocity phase shift was poor, in both experimental and model results the negative phase shift throughout the boundary layer due to the travelling-wave fluctuations has been captured.  相似文献

The stability of a laminar boundary layer of a power-law non-Newtonian fluid is studied. The validity of the Squire theorem on the possibility of reducing the flow stability problem for a power-law fluid relative to three-dimensional disturbances to a problem with two-dimensional disturbances is demonstrated. A numerical method of integrating the generalized Orr-Sommerfeld equation is constructed on the basis of previously proposed [1] transformations. Stability characteristics of the boundary layer on a longitudinally streamlined semiinfinite plate are considered.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 101–106, January–February, 1976.  相似文献

Experimental data on the location of the laminar—turbulent transition and development of natural disturbances in a laminar hypersonic boundary layer on a sharp thermally insulated cone with a half–angle of 7° are presented. The existence of the second mode of disturbances is confirmed. It is shown that the transition is determined by the first mode of disturbances. The experimental data are in good agreement with theoretical calculations.  相似文献

This paper reports results of experiments on controlling longitudinal structures in the boundary layer on a at plate. The longitudinal structures were generated by a controlled vortical disturbance of the external flow by means of a distributed susceptibility mechanism. It is shown that riblets reduce the intensity of both stationary and traveling disturbances. The linear and weakly linear stages in the development of disturbances in the boundary layer are the most favorable for the use of riblets.__________Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 46, No. 4, pp. 47–54, July–August, 2005.  相似文献

The turbulent-freestream-generated disturbances in the flat-plate boundary layer are studied. As distinct from the conventional representation of turbulence as superposition of exponentially decaying vortex disturbances frozen in the flow and satisfying the linearized Navier-Stokes equations, a model used takes account for their nonlinear development. Its basic features are the deviation of the phase velocity of vortex disturbances from the flow velocity and their slower decay. The model makes it possible to adequately describe the experimentally observable dependences of the velocity fluctuations in the boundary layer and their spectra on the stream wise coordinate.  相似文献

This work investigates the linear stability of an antiplane shear motion which involves a steadily propagating normal planar phase boundary in an arbitrary element of a family of non-elliptic generalized neo-Hookean materials. It is shown that such a process is linearly unstable with respect to a large class of disturbances if and only if the kinetic response function—a constitutively supplied entity which relates the normal velocity of a phase boundary to the driving traction which acts on it—is locally decreasing as a function of the appropriate argument. This result holds whether or not inertial effects are taken into consideration, demonstrating that the linear stability of the relevant process depends entirely upon the transformation kinetics intrinsic to the kinetic response function. The morphological evolution of the interface is then, in an inertia-free setting, tracked for a short time subsequent to the perturbation. It is found that, when the kinetic response function is non-monotonic, the phase boundary can evolve so as to qualitatively resemble the plate-like structures which are found in displacive solid-solid phase transformations.  相似文献

It was shown in [1] that a parallel flow with an arbitrary nonconstant velocity profile is unstable for long-wavelength spatially periodic disturbances along the flow. The present paper shows that this instability leads to a supercritical natural oscillation mode of the simple wave type. This mode is calculated using the Lyapunov-Schmidt method in the form given in [2], along with the asymptotic curve of the wavelengths [1]. If the long wavelength disturbances are the most dangerous (this occurs, for example, when there is a sinusoidal velocity profile), then the natural oscillation mode is stable for spatially periodic disturbances having the same wavelength.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 32–35, January–February, 1973.  相似文献

A theoretical analysis is made of the interaction of wave disturbances of small finite amplitude in a boundary layer in the case when the velocity distribution contains a periodic component that oscillates in time in accordance with a harmonic law. It is shown that it is in principle possible for there to be a four-wave synchronous (resonance) interaction in a cubic nonlinearity; equations are obtained for the amplitudes. Calculations made to test the effectiveness of the resonance phenomena have shown that the coupling coefficients are not sufficiently large for the superimposed oscillations to change significantly the nature of the interaction of the waves.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 154–158, September–October, 1980.We thank A. The structure of disturbances carried by the flow into the working section of a supersonic wind tunnel has been investigated by means of a constant-current hot-wire anemometer. In order to generate the disturbances grids consisting of round rods were introduced upstream from the nozzle throat. It was found that in the working section the disturbances consist of non-correlating vortex, entropy and acoustic modes. The latter is generated by the boundary layer on the nozzle walls and the first two by the grids. The spectral compositions of the various modes are compared. Because of the presence of grid turbulence the point of laminar-turbulent transition in the boundary layer on a flat plate varied widely.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 119–124, May–June, 1990.  相似文献

The problem of interaction of gas-dust flows with solid surfaces arose in connection with the study of the motion of aircraft in a dusty atmosphere [1–2], the motion of a gas suspension in power generators, and in a number of other applications [3]. The presence of a disperse admixture may lead to a significant increase in the heat fluxes [4] and to erosion of the surface [5]. These phenomena are due to the joint influence of several factors — the change in the structure of the carrier-phase boundary layer due to the presence of the particles, collisions of the particles with the surface, roughness of the ablating surface, and so forth. This paper continues an investigation begun earlier [6–7] into the influence of particles on the structure of the dynamical and thermal two-phase boundary layer formed around a blunt body in a flow. The model of the dusty gas [8] has an incompressible carrier phase. The method of matched asymptotic expansions [9] is used to obtain the equations of the two-phase boundary layer. In the frame-work of the refined classification made by Stulov [6], it is shown that the form of the boundary layer equations is different in the presence and absence of inertial precipitation of the particles. The equations are solved numerically in the neighborhood of the stagnation point of the blunt body. The temperature and phase velocity distributions in the boundary layer, and also the friction coefficients and the heat transfer of the carrier phase are found for a wide range of the determining parameters. In the case of an admixture of low-inertia particles that are not precipitated on the body, it is shown that even when the mass concentration of the particles in the undisturbed flow is small their accumulation in the boundary layer can lead to a sharp increase in the thermal fluxes at the stagnation point.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 99–107, September–October, 1985.I thank V. In this article the boundary conditions relating the values of the hydrodynamic variables in a rarefaction wave to the surface temperature are derived. The gas-kinetic problem of the motion of vapor in a thin layer directly adjacent to a phase boundary is solved approximately for this case. If the temperature of the surface is held constant by external radiation, the resulting solution makes it possible to compute the surface temperature, the velocity of the evaporation front, and the recoil momentum.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 163–165, May–June, 1976.In conclusion, the author thanks S. The linear theory is used to solve the problem of the development of two-dimensional disturbances in the boundary layer of compressible fluid. In contrast to the stability theory of plane-parallel flows, the present paper takes into account the presence in the boundary layer of transverse (at right angles to the flow direction) motions, the dependence of the averaged flow parameters on the longitudinal coordinate, and also the deformation of the amplitude distribution profile of the disturbances as a function of the longitudinal coordinate. The calculations are made for Mach number M = 4.5.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 26–31, March–April, 1980.  相似文献

The development of three-dimensional wave packets artificially introduced into a boundary layer has been experimentally investigated. The measurements were made by the hot-wire anemometer method in the boundary layer on a flat plate at a Mach number M = 4. The artificial disturbances were introduced into the boundary layer by means of an electric discharge. A Fourier analysis of the data made it possible to obtain the wave characteristics of the plane waves. The composition of the disturbances was analyzed and those most dangerous from the instability standpoint were identified. The data obtained are compared with the results of experiments carried out at M = 2. The differences in the data are discussed.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 54–58, November–December, 1990.  相似文献

The analog of Orr's problem is formulated for MHD flows. Arbitrary three-dimensional disturbances satisfying the continuity equations are considered. It is established that direct interaction of the disturbances of the magnetic field and the velocity field cannot increase the energy estimate of the critical Reynolds number. Numerical calculations for Hartmann flow and modified Couette flows are made for the particular case of small magnetic Reynolds numbers, The minimum value of R is attained for disturbances with a wave vector perpendicular to the velocity vector of the main flow.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 3–9, July–August, 1971.The authors thank M.
