The qualitative behaviors of a system of ordinary differential equations and a system of differential-integral equations, which model the dynamics of disease transmission for tuberculosis (TB), have been studied. It has been shown that the dynamics of both models are governed by a reproductive number. All solutions converge to the origin (the disease-free equilibrium) when this reproductive number is less than or equal to the critical value one. The disease-free equilibrium is unstable and there exists a unique positive (endemic) equilibrium if the reproductive number exceeds one. Moreover, the positive equilibrium is stable. Our results show that the qualitative behaviors predicted by the model with arbitrarily distributed latent stage are similar to those given by the TB model with an exponentially distributed period of latency.  相似文献

In this paper, an SEIRS epidemic model with a saturation incidence rate and a time delay describing a latent period is investigated. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of an endemic equilibrium and a disease-free equilibrium is established. When the basic reproduction number is greater than unity, by means of an iteration technique, sufficient conditions are obtained for the global asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium. By comparison arguments, it is proved that if the basic reproduction number is less than unity, the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the main theoretical results.  相似文献

An epidemic models of SIR type and SIRS type with general contact rate and constant immigration of each class were discussed by means of theory of limit system and suitable Liapunov functions. In the absence of input of infectious individuals, the threshold of existence of endemic equilibrium is found. For the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium of corresponding SIR model, the sufficient and necessary conditions of global asymptotical stabilities are all obtained. For corresponding SIRS model, the sufficient conditions of global asymptotical stabilities of the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium are obtained. In the existence of input of infectious individuals, the models have no disease-free equilibrium. For corresponding SIR model, the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable ; for corresponding SIRS model, the sufficient conditions of global asymptotical stability of the endemic equilibrium are obtained.  相似文献

We study a model inspired by the Oldroyd-B equations for viscoelastic fluids. The objective is to better understand the nonlinear coupling between the stress and velocity fields in viscoelastic flows, and thus gain insight into the reasons that cause the loss of accuracy of numerical computations at high Weissenberg number. We derive a model system by discarding the stress-advection and stress-relaxation terms in the Oldroyd-B model. The reduced (unphysical) model, which bears some resemblance to a viscoelastic solid, only retains the stretching of the stress due to velocity gradients and the induction of velocity by the stress field. Our conjecture is that such a system always evolves toward an equilibrium in which the stress builds up such to cancel the external forces. This conjecture is supported by numerous simulations. We then turn our attention to a finite dimensional model (i.e., a set of ordinary differential equations) that has the same algebraic structure as our model system. Numerical simulations indicate that the finite-dimensional analog has a globally attracting equilibrium manifold. In particular, it is found that subsets of the equilibrium manifold may be unstable, leading to a “peaking” behavior, where trajectories are repelled from the equilibrium manifold at one point, and are eventually attracted to a stable equilibrium point on the same manifold. Generalizations and implications to solutions of the Oldroyd-B model are discussed.  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamical behavior of two oscillators with nonlinearity terms, which are coupled with finite delay parameters. Each oscillator is a general class of second-order nonlinear delay-differential equations. The system of delay differential equations is analyzed by reducing the delay equations to a system of ordinary differential equations on a finite-dimensional center manifold, the corresponding to an infinite-dimensional phase space. In addition, the characteristic equation for the linear stability of the trivial equilibrium is completely analyzed and the stability region is illustrated in the parameters space. Our analysis reveals necessary coefficients of the reduced vector field on the center manifold for studying the bifurcations of the trivial equilibrium such as transcritical, pitchfork, and Hopf bifurcation. Finally, we consider the delay-coupled van der Pol equations.  相似文献

The paper describes the aeroelastic analysis of a tiltrotor configuration. The 1/5 scale wind tunnel semispan model of the V-22 tiltrotor aircraft is considered. The analysis is performed by means of a multi-body code, based on an original formulation. The differential equilibrium problem is stated in terms of first-order differential equations. The equilibrium equations of every rigid body are written together with the definitions of the momenta. The bodies are connected by kinematic constraints applied in the form of Lagrangian multipliers. Deformable components are mainly modelled by means of beam elements based on an original finite volume formulation. Multi-disciplinary problems can be solved by adding user-defined differential equations. In the presented analysis, the equations related to the control of the swash-plate of the model are considered. Advantages of a multi-body aeroelastic code over existing comprehensive rotorcraft codes include the exact modelling of the kinematics of the hub, the detailed modelling of the flexibility of critical hub components, and the possibility to simulate steady flight conditions as well as wind-up and maneuvers. The simulations described in the paper include (1) the analysis of the aeroelastic stability, with particular regard to the proprotor/pylon instability that is peculiar to tiltrotors, (2) the determination of the dynamic behavior of the system and of the loads due to typical maneuvers, with particular regard to the conversion from helicopter to airplane mode, and (3) the stress evaluation in critical components, such as the pitch links and the conversion downstop spring.  相似文献

A mathematical model is proposed to describe the critical quasistatic equilibrium of rotating drillstrings with additional centralizers in the lower portion. It is shown that the system of differential equations describing them is stiff. It is solved by decomposition. Simultaneous flow of two or three immiscible fluids in porous media is modelled by a system of coupled, nonlinear partial differential equations. These equations are reduced to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations through the use of finite-difference approximations for derivatives. Several types of nonlinearities requiring careful analysis exist in this model. Here, we present a systematic study of all available, and some new, methods for the treatment of nonlinearitics in this model. It is believed that the solution techniques presented here may also prove useful for other strongly nonlinear partial differential equations.  相似文献

This paper gives an exact analysis of a rotating piezoelectric spherical shell with arbitrary thickness. At first, three displacement functions are introduced to simplify the basic equations of a spherically isotropic, piezoelectric medium. By expanding the displacement functions as well as the electric potential in terms of spherical harmonics, the basic equations of equilibrium are converted to an uncoupled Euler type, second order ordinary differential equation and a coupled system of three second order ordinary differential equations. A general solution to the homogeneous equations of equilibrium is then derived. The static analysis of a rotating spherical shell is then performed and numerical example is presented. A number of theoretical approaches to the investigation of ionizing gas flows are analyzed and compared with reference to a plasma accelerator channel. The transition from a weakly ionized gas to a plasma is considered within the framework of the complete system of equations. The ionizing gas flow model is based on the magnetogasdynamic equations of a continuum and the equation of ionization and recombination kinetics. The corresponding coefficients are determined both within the framework of the standard theory and within a modified diffusion approximation, including possible variations. In addition, for comparison purposes some results of numerical experiments on the ionization process under conditions of local thermodynamic equilibrium are given.  相似文献

A monotone system of ordinary differential equations is considered. It is shown that the omega limit set of a bounded trajectory of this system contains an equilibrium point or a nonconstant periodic orbit. As an application, a four-dimensional system of ordinary differential equations of Lotka-Volterra type is presented. It is shown that if the interior equilibrium point of this system is unstable, then a periodic orbit is contained in the omega limit set of its bounded trajectories.  相似文献

This paper takes into consideration a damped harmonic oscillator model with delayed feedback. After transforming the model into a system of first-order delayed differential equations with a single discrete delay, the single stability switch and multiple stability switches phenomena as well as the existence of Hopf bifurcation of the zero equilibrium of the system are explored by taking the delay as the bifurcation parameter and analyzing in detail the associated characteristic equation. Particularly, in view of the normal form method and the center manifold reduction for retarded functional differential equations, the explicit formula determining the properties of Hopf bifurcation including the direction of the bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are given. In order to check the rationality of our theoretical results, numerical simulations for some specific examples are also carried out by means of the MATLAB software package.

提出了一种用多域边界元技术求解大型工程问题的新算法. 首先, 采用三步变量凝聚技术, 将由内部点、边界点和公共结点表述的每一子域的基本边界元代数方程表述成只有公共结点变量为未知量的代数方程, 然后, 根据公共结点的平衡方程和协调条件组集具有稀疏系数特征的总体系统方程组. 为了有效求解该系统方程组, 首次在边界元法中引进一种能有效求解大型非对称稀疏系数矩阵方程组的行消元回代法(REBSM), 该方法可在方程的每一行组形成时进行消元和回代, 当方程组组集完毕后即可得到方程的解, 不需要最后的回代过程. 因为一些项的重复计算在每一行的处理中合并掉, 因此REBSM要比传统的高斯消元法需要较少的内存, 而且计算速度具有数量级的提高, 可为边界元法求解大型工程问题提供有力的方程求解器.   相似文献

It is shown that a multicomponent two-phase system moving through a porous medium may be described by a limit model in which the thermodynamic subsystem is totally separated from the hydrodynamics. The limit corresponds to a contrast phase mobility and a fast pressure relaxation process. The obtained limit thermodynamic model includes several differential thermodynamic equations and describes the equilibrium in an open system. The model is validated by comparing with the full compositional flow simulations. A numerical solution to the limit thermodynamic model is constructed. An application to the gas-condensate systems is compared to the full compositional model.  相似文献

A design model for a chain system of N elastically linked rigid bodies with a spheroidal gravity-friction damper is proposed. The Lagrange–Painlevé equations of the first kind are used to construct nonlinear dynamical models of a mechanical system undergoing translational vibrations about the equilibrium position. The conditions under which the system moves in one plane are established. The double nonstationary phase–frequency resonance of a system with N = 2 is analyze. After the numerical integration of the systems of differential equations, the phase–frequency surfaces are plotted and examined for several combinations of system parameters under two-frequency loading  相似文献

In this study, the nonlinear aeroelastic stability of wind turbine blade with bending–bending–twist coupling has been investigated for composite thin-walled structure with pretwist angle. The aerodynamic model used here is the differential dynamic stall nonlinear ONERA model. The nonlinear aeroelastic equations are reduced to ordinary equations by Galerkin method, with the aerodynamic force decomposition by strip theory. The nonlinear resulting equations are solved by a time-marching approach, and are linearized by small perturbation about the equilibrium point. The nonlinear aeroelastic stability characteristics are investigated through eigenvalue analysis, nonlinear time domain response, and linearized time domain response.  相似文献

Unsaturated flows within subsurface regions control many large-scale hydrological and environmental processes. This contribution presents and discusses the results of numerical calculations dealing with the flow of water, the chemical reaction at the water-mineral interface and the transport of chemical species caused by such flows. The source of the water flow through the soil is solely the rainfall. The water motion is calculated for two different soil classes and for a typical annual precipitation. The codes which were used are based on the following model: The transport of chemical species is described by a set of partial differential equations, and the homogeneous chemical processes, under the assumption of equilibrium, are described by a set of nonlinear algebraic equations. The source terms of these partial differential equations are given by rate laws of the chemical weathering. Rainfall and chemical weathering are, therefore, the sources of the transport of reactive multispecies in this model.  相似文献

A discrete model for the swelling of a sealed glass capillary in a high-temperature furnace with an arbitrary axial temperature profile is proposed. A system of ordinary differential equations describing the swelling kinetics of the capillary is obtained, as well as a system of algebraic equations for finding the axial profile of the maximally swollen capillary. Two swelling modes are analyzed: the swelling mode of a stationary fixed capillary and the swelling mode of a capillary moved into a high-temperature furnace with a constant or variable rate. The results of the numerical calculations were verified experimentally for the case of sintering of capillary assemblies used as preforms for microstructured optical fiber.  相似文献

采用一种新的数值方法——微分求积单元法分析框架结构的P-△效应。微分求积单元法采用微分求积法直接求解微分方程的技术,并结合有限分割技术而形成。首先建立考虑剪切变形和轴力二阶效应的框架结构单元平衡微分方程,通过微分求积离散而得到梁单元的一般弹性刚度方程;同时考虑变形后节点的平衡条件和变形协调条件,导出框架结构整体二阶分析的微分求积单元法力学模型。由于该分析模型中包括了单元及结构的所有离散形式的控制方程,因此采用该模型进行结构分析可得出较为精确的解。数值算例的分析比较,表明了该法用于框架结构P-△效应分析的正确性和有效性。本文导出的框架结构二阶分析的微分求积单元法力学模型可用于框架结构剪切变形与几何非线性的耦合效应分析。  相似文献
