A mathematical model for a projectile shot at low pressures in the space behind the projectile space is developed. The pressure rise is limited because of the nonsimultaneity of propellant ignition and combustion and the discharge of the propellant combustion products through the gap between the projectile and the walls of the gun barrel. The kinetic characteristics of flame propagation over the propellant particles are determined. A comparison of calculation and experimental data is performed. The method chosen to compensate for the forces acting on the barrel in the course of compression and confinement of the test gas in the settling chamber of a hypersonic wind tunnel with a free locking piston is justified. A method is proposed to compensate for the effect of adverse factors by optimizing the mass of an auxiliary piston introduced into the system. The effectiveness of the method is validated experimentally. As a result, for the case of gas compression to 200 MPa, the displacement of the center of mass of the barrel is reduced from 50 to 0.25 mm, which is smaller than the amplitude of elastic axial extension corresponding to the maximum pressure of the gas. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 49, No. 5, pp. 212–220, September–October, 2008.  相似文献

 This paper describes an experimental study of the removal of fine (8.3 μm) polystyrene particles from a glass substrate using a gas jet at normal impingement. In order to avoid transient effects associated with jet startup, the sample was slowly translated under a steady jet. The translating gas jet produces a long clean path that provides very good statistics for exploring the effect of jet parameters. The dependence of the spatial distribution of removal efficiency on the jet pressure ratio, the jet height, and the translation speed is examined. Clean paths greater than 16 jet diameters wide are produced with a jet pressure ratio of 7 translating at 9.0 mm/s at a dimensionless height of 10. The path width is independent of the jet height at high pressure ratios and inversely dependent on the jet translation speed. A harmonic oscillator model for particle detachment accounts for the effect of translation speed. Results suggest that the particles act as nearly-quantized shear stress sensors that provide a direct, though as yet uncalibrated, measure of the surface shear stress. Further, knowledge of the pressure required to remove 50% of the particles from the central region of the path is sufficient to predict the extent of particle removal at higher pressures. 为研究活塞回复运动对火药燃气流动的影响,基于两相流理论对活塞控制侧向后喷武器的发射过程进行了数值模拟研究。考虑控制侧向后喷通道开闭的活塞-弹簧系统的往复运动,建立了结合膛内气固两相流、活塞腔内流固耦合和侧向排气管内气体瞬态流动的武器发射过程数学模型,并将数值模拟结果与相关文献进行了比较验证。得到了该武器发射过程中膛内流场分布与稀疏波传播特性,并与普通武器的膛内流场进行了对比分析。进一步研究了活塞回复运动对火药燃气流动和减后坐效率的影响。结果表明:相对于不考虑活塞的回复运动,在弹丸初速都降低1.52%的情况下,因为活塞回复关闭后喷通道,其减后坐效率由38.86%下降到32.88%,说明在此类武器研究中,不可忽视活塞回复运动。  相似文献

In the paper theoretical and numerical model of two-phase flow of solid granular propellant and its products of combustion in the gun barrel during interior ballistic cycle is given. Two cases are considered: base ignition of propellant charge and ignition by igniter. The theoretical model includes the balance equations of mass, momentum and energy for both phases, as well as necessary constitutive laws. The igniter efflux in the propellant chamber is obtained by incorporation in the model the two-phase flow model of igniter function. The convergent, unconditionally stable, numerical procedure is formed to solve the system of equations of the theoretical model. An original procedure of numerical grid adaptation to the flow field increase, caused by the projectile motion down the gun bore, is developed. The TWOPIB code for the computation of whole interior ballistic cycle of ammunition is developed. Four kinds of experimental investigations were carried out:igniter function in open air, flamespreading through propellant charge in the fibreglass tube during base ignition or during ignition by igniter, and firing of 100 mm APFSDS projectile. Verification of the theoretical–numerical approach by the comparison with experimental data is carried out. The great number of computational results is presented for the parameters that can not be measured, but which are necessary for more complete understanding of examined processes. The presented theoretical–numerical access enables, not only the complete optimisation of propellant charges, but more successful solutions of many interior ballistic problems.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to investigate means of controlling the interior ballistic stability of a bulk-loaded propellant gun(BLPG).Experiments on the interaction of twin combustion gas jets and liquid medium in a cylindrical stepped-wall combustion chamber are conducted in detail to obtain time series processes of jet expansion,and a numerical simulation under the same working conditions is also conducted to verify the reliability of the numerical method by comparing numerical results and experimental results.From this,numerical simulations on mutual interference and expansion characteristics of multiple combustion gas jets(four,six,and eight jets) in liquid medium are carried out,and the distribution characteristic of pressure,velocity,temperature,and evolutionary processes of Taylor cavities and streamlines of jet flow Held are obtained in detail.The results of numerical simulations show that when different numbers of combustion gas jets expand in liquid medium,there are two different types of vortices in the jet flow field,including corner vortices of liquid phase near the step and backflow vortices of gas phase within Taylor cavities.Because of these two types of vortices,the radial expansion characteristic of the jets is increased,while changing numbers of combustion gas jets can restrain Kelvin-Helmholtz instability to a certain degree in jet expansion processes,which can at last realize the goal of controlling the interior ballistic stability of a BLPG.The optimum method for both suppressing Kelvin-Helmholtz instability and promoting radial expansion of Taylor cavities can be determined by analyzing the change of characteristic parameters in a jet flow field.  相似文献

在控制再生式液体发射药火炮燃烧稳定性的背景下,采用挂滴装置和高速摄影系统开展了 HAN基液体发射药 LP1846液滴组内部相互作用对着火、燃烧过程影响的研究。观测了液满间相互作用对它们所经历的四个特征过程的影响。定量测试液滴组平均着火延迟期、着火温度等特性参数与环境温度和液滴中心间距的关系。实验发现:在一定条件下,液滴组将出现聚并现象。最后.建立了一个工程简化模型,理论计算与实验数据吻合较好。这个工作对控制燃烧稳定性和抑制压力振荡有一定的指导意义。  相似文献

为了在实验室条件下简洁、高效地获得与实际相符的膛压曲线,进而开展典型结构和材料膛压载荷响应特性研究,提出了压力舱内发射药燃烧同时发射药气体由排气件排出的膛压模拟装置。结合发射药燃烧理论和等熵流动模型,建立了排气式膛压模拟过程的数学模型。基于理想气体假设,利用Fluent软件模拟泄压过程质量流量规律,并与理论结果对比,确定了流量系数。分别根据76和155 mm火炮膛压曲线特点及小型化设计原则,对模拟装置性能参数进行了优化设计。优化结果表明,获得的压力曲线的增压速率和降压速率基本满足要求,峰值压力达到300 MPa,压力大于30 MPa历时10 ms以上。验证实验结果表明:压力曲线有良好的重复性,且与理论结果一致,装置工作可靠性高;以排放发射药气体方式模拟膛压曲线是可行的。  相似文献

 Rayleigh scattering of ultra-violet laser light is applied as a diagnostic tool to record gas density distributions in a supersonic nozzle flow. The output beam of a pulsed ArF excimer laser (λ=193.4 nm) is focussed into a thin light sheet radially intersecting a dry air flow emanating from a circular nozzle. An intensified CCD camera is used to record the Rayleigh scattered light in a direction perpendicular to the light sheet. Since the Rayleigh scattering intensity is directly proportional to the local gas density, this results in two-dimensional gas density distribution maps of radial slices through the flow. Images of the flow density are presented for stagnation pressures between 0.2 and 0.7 MPa (0.1 MPa ≡1 bar), showing the transition from subsonic to supersonic flow and, at higher pressures, the formation of a Mach disk. Density maps can be recorded with single laser pulses, effectively freezing the flow structure on a 20 ns time scale. The diamond pattern, characteristic for underexpanded supersonic nozzle flows, is quantitatively monitored, with the experimental results being in reasonable agreement with predictions from a simplified theoretical model.  We present experimental results using Filtered Rayleigh Scattering to make planar measurements of velocity, temperature and pressure in ambient air and in a Mach 2 free jet. The ambient air measurements are used to identify and calibrate experimental uncertainties. The Mach 2 measurements demonstrate the usefulness of the technique for making accurate planar measurements in a high speed flow. The measured values for velocity, temperature and pressure in the Mach 2 jet ranged, through a shock system, from 205 to 235 m/s, 150 to 170 K and 700 to 1000 torr, with estimated uncertainties of ±5.4 m/s, ±3.2 K and ±38 torr (±2 to 3%, ±2% and ±4–5%, respectively). In recent years the two-stage light gas ballistic apparatus with deformable plastic pistons has become widely used in experimental aerodynamics. The existing methods of calculating such devices either completely neglect friction of the piston on the channel wall [1–3] or use a schematization of the frictional forces [4–6], which does not have a satisfactory physical basis. In a number of studies [7, 8] the friction force was considered constant, and its value was specified not from physical considerations, but to produce the best agreement between calculated and experimental values of object velocity or driving gas pressure. Since friction is such a significant factor, its proper consideration in calculating piston motion parameters requires special study. In this connection, it is useful to consider the operation of only the first stage of the ballistic apparatus, which sets the piston in motion. Below we will consider the problem of the internal ballistics of a one-stage powder-driven apparatus in the column channel of which a piston made of polymer material moves, experiencing friction. The friction model is constructed on the basis of a series of experiments on the slow forcing of polymer specimens compressed in the longitudinal direction through a steel channel. An experimental study was made of the relationship between the gunpowder gas pressure and time within a constant volume chamber, allowing establishment of the true powder-burning law, and its deviation from the geometric law of [9]. 在初始点火过程中 ,假设等离子体为充分发展射流流动 ,因而可采用积分近似模型进行描述。而在随后的膛内燃烧过程中通过以经验公式给出等离子体混合长度的方法来处理等离子体的运动 ,并给出了合适的相间阻力及传热公式。通过在计算网格设计中引入了自适应方法提高了数值解精度。计算膛压曲线与实验符合良好。相对常规内弹道情形 ,等离子体能量的注入使在不同时刻膛内的气、固两相速度、压力和膛底温度等出现提高 ,这是等离子体注入后对内弹道的增强过程。计算结果为固体工质电热化学炮的弹道设计提供了理论依据。  相似文献

The five-stage cylindrical stepped-wall observation chamber is designed to investigate the method of controlling the interior ballistic stability in bulk-loaded propellant guns. The expansion and mixing process of twin combustion gas jets in liquid is studied by means of high speed photographic system. The influence of multiple parameters on jet expansion shape is discussed. Based on the experiment, the three-dimensional mathematics model is established to simulate the expansion process of twin gas jets in liquid. The pressure, density, temperature, velocity contours and evolutionary process of vortices are obtained. Results show that vortices behind the corner of the steps are formed due to the inducing effect of steps. The jets can expand along the axial and radial direction simultaneously, weakening the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. The numerical simulation results of axial expansion displacement are in good agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

 The main aim of the present investigation is to experimentally study the flow parameters inside a spherical combustion chamber of an indirect injection diesel engine. For this a spherical chamber has been fitted in the cylinder head. Using a constant temperature hot-wire anemometer, measurements have been made under non-firing condition at 400 and 500 rpm during compression stroke. Mean velocity and turbulence intensity values are evaluated from the hot-wire signal. Measurements are made at three axial planes, six angular locations and four radial positions. Large variations of mean velocity and turbulence intensity have been observed within the chamber. From the measurements, the mean velocity and turbulence intensity are found to be maximum at 30° before compression TDC and these values are found to decrease towards the centre of the pre-chamber.  The design and performance of a new pulse-expansion wave tube for nucleation studies at high pressures are described. The pulse-expansion wave tube is a special shock tube in which a nucleation pulse is formed at the endwall of the high pressure section. The nucleation pulse is due to reflections of the initial shock wave at a local widening situated in the low pressure section at a short distance from the diaphragm. The nucleation pulse has a duration of the order of 200 μs, while nucleation pressures that can be achieved range from 1 to 50 bar total pressure. Droplet size and droplet number density can accurately be determined by a 90°-Mie light scattering method and a light extinction method. The range of nucleation rates that can be measured is 108 cm-3 s-1<J<1011 cm-3 s-1. We will illustrate the functioning and possibilities of the new pulse-expansion wave tube by nucleation rate measurements in the gas-vapour mixture nitrogen/water in the temperature range 200–260 K, and in the mixture methane/n-nonane as a function of supersaturation S at various total pressures up to 40 bar and temperatures around 240 K. Using a servohydraulic intensifier, a servohydraulic universal test machine and a novel test chamber, pressures of 750 MPa and axial stresses of almost any magnitude are simultaneously generated and applied to the gage section of a solid, cylindrical specimen. Under combined axial-stress/external-pressure loadings, a solid specimen experiences a truly three-dimensional, homogeneous stress state in which the axial stress equals σ1 and the radial and circumferential stresses equal the negative of the pressure, —P. Through independent computer control of the pressure and axial stress, amterial behavior under monotonically and cyclically applied multiaxial stresses are investigated. This paper describes the experimental details of the test chamber design, high-pressure fluid production and sealing, load and strain measurement under high pressure, computer control and data acquisition. Experimental results obtained from triaxial monotonic tests on low alloy steel and triaxial cyclic tests on a Ni-Ti alloy using this unique apparatus are presented.  相似文献

Pulsed high-velocity water jets are of interest for breaking rocks and other materials. This paper describes a straightforward way of generating single water pulse with a hammer impacting a piston that rests on top of a chamber filled with water. This impacting action pressurises the water, expelling it at high velocity through a nozzle. A theoretical investigation is outlined aimed at gaining a better understanding of this system for generating water pulses. A computational model is developed to simulate the pressure dynamics in the chamber based on continuity and momentum equations for a compressible viscous flow. This model is used to optimise the relative sizes of the hammer and piston as well as the height of the water column to produce the highest velocity water pulse. The model was validated by building an experimental apparatus. In these experiments maximum pressures of about 200 MPa were measured inside the chamber over a time period of about 560???s. This produced a water pulse with maximum velocity of 600 m/s. Experiments were conducted with nozzle diameters between about 1 mm and 4 mm to study the effect of discharge volume on the pressure history. The results illustrate that although the peak attainable pressure decreases with an increase in nozzle diameter, the duration of the elevated pressure remains similar for all nozzles.  相似文献

The use of high pressures in a hypersonic aerodynamic experiment is founded on physical grounds. Calculation results of Mach and Reynolds numbers reachable at the line of gas condensation are given as functions of the temperature and pressure in the plenum chamber. Approaches to solving problems of designing ultrahigh-pressure facilities that ensure outflow with pressures up to20,000 atm are described. These problems include the stop of the first-stage piston at the point of maximum pressure, suppression of the reaction force, provision of normal operation of seals of the moving piston, and reduction of friction forces in the seals. 利用DCD(dispersion controlled dissipative scheme)格式,提出了一种研究发射装药发射安全性问题的两相流内弹道计算方法。将内弹道气固两相流动力学方程组中与压力有关的项进行变形,实现了用同一种格式对气相和固相统一处理,而无须分别对待,采用DCD格式无须数值粘性和人工滤波,提高了计算精度。实例计算了某榴弹内弹道两相流动力学,计算结果与实验结果吻合较好。把破碎发射药床视为混合装药结构,用DCD格式计算了发射药床不同破碎程度对发射安全性的影响。计算结果表现出了通常计算方法难以反映的破碎发射药床内弹道压力极为剧烈的变化过程和极高的危险膛压。 更多还原  相似文献
