The generalized Fourier-series method was used to derive the impact responses formula of an unrestrained planar frame structure when subjected to an impact of a moving rigid-body. By using these formula, the analytic solutions of dynamic responses of the contact-impact system can be obtained. During the derivation, the momentum sum of elastic responses of the contact-impact system is demonstrated to be zero. From the derivation, it is seen that the modal method can also be used to solve this kind of impact problem.  相似文献

Summary In this article, the control of a repetitive impacting elastic link with parametrically excited base in rotational motion is considered. A fuzzy-logic controller is designed and employed to suppress the vibrations resulting after the impact with an external rigid body. The momentum balance method and an empirical coefficient of restitution is used in the collision of the two bodies. The controller is applied successfully to reduce the vibrations of the parametrically excited impacting flexible system. The dynamic analysis of a generalized linear elastic body undergoing large rigid rotations is investigated. The generalized linear elastic body is described in kine- matics through translational and rotational deformations, and a modified constitutive relation for the rotational deformation is proposed between the couple stress and the curvature tensor. Thus, the balance equations of momentum and moment are used for the motion equations of the body. The floating frame of reference formulation is applied to the elastic body that conducts rotations about a fixed axis. The motion-deformation coupled model is developed in which three types of inertia forces along with their incre- ments are elucidated. The finite element governing equations for the dynamic analysis of the elastic body under large rotations are subsequently formulated with the aid of the constrained variational principle. A penalty parameter is introduced, and the rotational angles at element nodes are treated as independent variables to meet the requirement of C1 continuity. The elastic body is discretized through the isoparametric element with 8 nodes and 48 degrees-of-freedom. As an example with an application of the motion- deformation coupled model, the dynamic analysis on a rotating cantilever with two spatial layouts relative to the rotational axis is numerically implemented. Dynamic frequencies of the rotating cantilever are presented at prescribed constant spin velocities. The maximal rigid rotational velocity is extended for ensuring the applicability of the linear model. A complete set of dynamical response of the rotating cantilever in the case of spin-up maneuver is examined, it is shown that, under the ultimate rigid rotational velocities less than the maximal rigid rotational velocity, the stress strength may exceed the material strength tolerance even though the displacement and rotational angle responses are both convergent. The influence of the cantilever layouts on their responses and the multiple displacement trajectories observed in the floating frame is simultaneously investigated. The motion-deformation coupled model is surely expected to be applicable for a broad range of practical applications.  相似文献

In this review, we introduce immersed boundary (IB) methods for fluid-structure interactions (FSIs) of rigid and elastic bodies. IB methods impose momentum forcing on an Eulerian mesh to satisfy boundary conditions on the interface between fluid and structure, which enables us to use a non-body conforming grid system for complex-shaped moving bodies. Imposition of the momentum forcing is performed directly through discrete delta function or indirectly through velocity reconstruction, by which IB methods have their own strengths and weaknesses to FSI problems of rigid and elastic bodies. To deal with FSI, IB methods using monolithic and partitioned (strong and weak coupling) approaches with different stability and cost have been suggested. Nevertheless, two important problems in FSI, cases of low density ratio of solid to fluid and high Reynolds number, have not been completely overcome by current IB methods in terms of the stability, accuracy and cost. This problem yields a four-dimensional smooth impact map that produces sticking, regular and chaotic responses. Taylor impact is a widely used strategy in which a flat-nosed projectile is fired onto a rigid anvil directly to determine the dynamic strength of rod specimens. Nowadays, the rigid anvil is often replaced by an output target bar to ensure the accuracy of measurement via recording strain signals in the output bar. For testing the dynamic strength of low-density materials, a low-impedance target bar, which exhibits viscoelastic characteristics is often employed. In this paper, an extended Taylor model is proposed to improve the idealization of treating the target bar as perfectly rigid material in the classic Taylor model, and the viscoelastic effect of the target bar is incorporated. The viscoelastic target bar is depicted by two elastic springs and one dashpot. Based on the plastic shock wave theory in the flat-nosed projectile associated with the viscoelastic wave analysis in the target bar, the viscoelastic effect of the target bar on the impact response of the flat-nosed projectile is investigated. The finite element simulation is also carried out to verify the theoretical model, and good agreement is found. The present theoretical model is also called the Taylor-cylinder Hopkinson impact, which provides a more accurate way to identify the dynamic material parameters. The dynamic responses of the present model are further compared with previous elastic and rigid target bar models. It is found that the viscoelastic effect of the target bar should be taken into consideration in the Taylor-cylinder Hopkinson impact test for low-impedance materials.  相似文献

The rotational motion of a rigid dynamical system including a three dimensional elastic part about a fixed point is studied. The system is under the action of a general gravitational field. The stability anlysis is carried out by expanding the displacement of the deformable part in terms of orthonormalized functions with the independent coefficients. Results are obtained easily based on Routh's equation and Andoyer variables. The system is found to be stable provided that the dissipation energy is minimum corresponds to the case of axially symmetric deformation. On the other hand, the system is unstable, when the angular momentum vector is parallel to the equatorial plane.  相似文献

We consider the problem of construction of optimal laws of variation in the angular momentum vector of a dynamically symmetric rigid body so as to ensure the transition of the rigid body from an arbitrary initial angular position to the required final angular position. For the functionals to be minimized, we use combined performance functionals, one of which characterizes the expenditure of time and of the squared modulus of the angular momentum vector in a given proportion, while the other characterizes the expenditure of time and momentum of the modulus of the angular momentum vector necessary to change the rigid body orientation. The control (the vector of the rigid body angular momentum) is assumed to be bounded in the modulus. The problem is solved by using Pontryagin’s maximum principle and the quaternion differential equation [1, 2] relating the vector of the dynamically symmetric rigid body angular momentum to the quaternion of orientation of the coordinate system rotating with respect to the rigid body about its dynamical symmetry axis at an angular velocity proportional to the angular momentum vector projection on the axis. The use of such a model of rotational motion leads to the problem of optimal control with the moving right end of the trajectory and significantly simplifies the analytic study of the problem of construction of optimal laws of variation in the angular momentum vector, because this model explicitly exploits the body angular momentum quaternion (control) instead of the rigid body absolute angular velocity quaternion. We construct general analytic solutions of the differential equations for the boundary-value problems which form systems of nine nonlinear differential equations. It is shown that the process of solving the differential boundary-value problems is reduced to solving two scalar algebraic transcendental equations.  相似文献

A model is presented for the impact with friction of a flexible body in translation and rotation. This model consists of a system of nonlinear differential equations which considers the multiple collisions as well as frictional effects at the contacting end, and allows one to predict the rigid and elastic body motion after the impact. The kinetic energy is derived by utilizing a generalized velocity field theory for elastic solids. The model uses a dry coefficient of friction and a nonlinear contact force. We introduce a finite number of vibrational modes to take into account the vibrational behavior of the body during impact. The vibrations, the multiple collisions, and the angle of incidence angle, are found to be important factors for the kinematics of frictional impact. Analytical and experimental results were compared to establish the accuracy of the model.  相似文献

The impact of a rigid body on a thin plate with a buffer is investigated in this paper. A buffer is assumed as a linear spring fractional derivative dashpot which exhibits the viscoelastic features. The fractional-derivative standard linear solid model is suggested for describing the shock interaction of the impactor with a circular elastic plate. We assume that a transient wave of transverse shear is generated in the plate and the reflected wave does not have sufficient time to interact with the plate before the impact process is completed. The ray method is used outside the contact spot, but the Laplace transform method is applied within the contact region. The time-dependence of the contact force is determined. A numerical example is carried out by considering crash scenarios in frontal impacts of the human head which could estimate brain injury risks.  相似文献

A hybrid control system is presented: an elastic beam, governed by a partial differential equation, linked to a rigid body which is governed by an ordinary differential equation and to which control forces and torques are applied. The entire system, elastic beam plus rigid body, is proved to be exactly controllable by smooth open-loop controllers applied to the rigid body only, and in arbitrarily short durations. 本文研究结构在动力作用下发生碰撞时的动力响应的分析方法。其中碰撞包括结构与刚(弹)性支座的碰撞和两个结构物之间的碰撞;碰撞的速度假定为中低速度,分析时不考虑局部的破坏问题。本文方法的关键点是提出了碰撞过程中的碰撞反力的模拟表达式。它是通过碰撞时结构与碰撞物体的碰撞力和碰撞变形关系的假定,并利用能量守恒原理,动量守恒原理和冲量定理建立的,既可描述完全弹性碰撞过程也可描述非完全弹性碰撞过程,当然也可考虑结构阻尼的影响。文末给出了几个算例,其中与有解析解的做了比较,符合得很好;至于没有解析解可比较的,在理论上也是合理的,算法上采用了中央差分的逐步积分法,在碰撞过程中采用非常小的积分步长,获得了预想的理想结果。  相似文献

This paper examines the dynamic behavior of a double pendulummodel with impact interaction. One of the masses of the two pendulumsmay experience impacts against absolutely rigid container wallssupported by an elastic system forming an inverted pendulum restrainedby a torsional elastic spring. The system equations of motion arewritten in terms of a non-smooth set of coordinates proposed originallyby Zhuravlev. The advantage of non-smooth coordinates is that theyeliminate impact constraints. In terms of the new coordinates, thepotential energy field takes a cell-wise non-local structure, and theimpact events are treated geometrically as a crossing of boundariesbetween the cells. Based on a geometrical treatment of the problem,essential physical system parameters are established. It is found thatunder resonance parametric conditions of the linear normal modes thesystem's response can be either bounded or unbounded, depending on thesystem's parameters. The ability of the system to absorb energy from anexternal source essentially depends on the modal inclination angle,which is related to the principal coordinates.  相似文献
