The characterization of the prominent features of near-fault pulse-like ground motions is under scrutiny. Relationships between
pulse characteristics and the performance of structures are here established. Two wavelet energy-based signal processing procedures
are introduced. The aim is the construction of simplified signals containing the prominent features of the data distribution
recorded from pulse-like earthquakes; signals that can be efficiently used in the design of civil engineering structures,
increasing the safety and reliability of the structural design itself. The first procedure is based on the analysis of the
absolute input energy. The second one considers the relative input energy. Comparisons with other wavelet-based earthquake

The investigation of strain-rate effects on the mechanical response and characteristics of thin free-standing films is crucial for the design and fabrication of more reliable MEMS devices. It is also of high interest from the scientific and materials engineering views. In this paper we present a novel apparatus and a procedure for tensile testing of thin free-standing films under a wide range of strain rates from quasistatic to high, almost comparable with those obtained in Hopkinson bar tests. To provide this capability, a unique displacement measurement method is applied and a micro device which meets several strict requirements is implemented. We describe recent results of quasistatic experiments performed on pure aluminum free-standing thin films. A high rate experiment which demonstrates the setup capabilities is also presented. The micro-device measured properties are compared with finite element analysis results. 相似文献

本文结合某高速公路隧道设计与施工,利用黏弹性理论,对隧道围岩与支护结构时间相依应力与位移进行了研究。首先,将隧道开挖后围岩受力分析视为具有初始应力、在洞周位移作用下的边值问题,导出了隧道时间相依的围岩与支护结构应力与位移,结果表明,其应力和位移与隧道围岩和支护结构间相互作用相关。然后,利用变形协调条件,导出了隧道围岩与支护结构间的相互作用,结果表明,围岩、初期支护与二次衬砌之间的相互作用不仅与围岩和衬砌的材料性质、结构尺寸相关,而且与施做初衬和二衬的时间相关。最后,结合具体隧道设计与施工,利用本文时间相依应力,对围岩应力释放与支护施做时机、载荷分配与支护结构受力分析进行了探讨,给出了不同荷载分担比下二次衬砌的受力与变形,为隧道施工与设计提供参考。 相似文献

随机性普遍存在于实际工程问题中,而复杂结构的非线性随机响应分析是其中的一个难点,近年发展的概率密度演化方法为此类问题的求解提供了新的途径.由于实际问题的复杂性,概率密度演化方程通常采用数值方法求解,因此提高计算效率和求解精度对实际应用具有重要意义.本文基于变网格技术,推导了概率密度演化方程在非均匀时间步长上的总变差减小(total variation diminishing,TVD)差分格式,算例结果表明通过自适应插值可将迭代次数减少为原来的43.4%,当随机过程样本持续时间增大时均值估计的平均误差基本不变,而标准差估计的平均误差不断增大,但增大幅度不断减小;计算耗时随样本持续时间的增大也呈增大趋势,而由于使用了时间步长自适应插值算法导致有些情况下长持时样本的计算耗时反而比短持时样本的计算耗时短;在传统的脉冲函数型初值条件基础上,提出了一种高阶导数更稳定的余弦函数型初值条件形式.结果表明,脉冲函数型的初值条件是余弦函数型初值条件的一个特例,当参数取值适当时,余弦函数型初值条件的数值求解结果具有更高的精度.本文的工作进一步完善了概率密度演化方程的求解方法,为其在实际工程中的应用提供了基础. 相似文献

Frictional sliding along an interface between two identical isotropic elastic plates under impact shear loading is investigated experimentally and numerically. The plates are held together by a compressive stress and one plate is subject to edge impact near the interface. The experiments exhibit both a crack-like and a pulse-like mode of sliding. Plane stress finite element calculations modeling the experimental configuration are carried out, with the interface characterized by a rate and state dependent frictional law. A variety of sliding modes are obtained in the calculations depending on the impact velocity, the initial compressive stress and the values of interface variables. For low values of the initial compressive stress and impact velocity, sliding occurs in a crack-like mode. For higher values of the initial compressive stress and/or impact velocity, sliding takes place in a pulse-like mode. One pulse-like mode involves well-separated pulses with the pulse amplitude increasing with propagation distance. Another pulse-like mode involves a pulse train of essentially constant amplitude. The propagation speed of the leading pulse (or of the tip of the crack-like sliding region) is near the longitudinal wave speed and never less than times the shear wave speed. Supersonic trailing pulses are seen both experimentally and computationally. The trends in the calculations are compared with those seen in the experiments. 相似文献

隧道支护结构体系是围岩稳定性控制的关键,也是隧道设计的基本任务,而对支护结构之间相互作用过程和机制的系统认识则是定量化设计的基础. 本文从隧道围岩结构性和支护作用的本质特征出发,提出隧道支护具有"调动"和"协助"围岩承载的基本作用,明确了二者的功能分配原则和实现方式,即分别通过超前支护的保障作用、初期支护的核心作用和二次衬砌的安全储备作用共同完成;针对围岩的正面挤出、前倾式冒落和后倾式冒落等三种超前破坏模式,分别给出了相应的超前支护方式和支护效果评价方法;提出初期支护作为隧道围岩附加载荷的主要承担者,包括锚固体系与拱架及喷射混凝土结构,分别通过"调动"和"协助"围岩实现其承载功能,且同时具有"支"与"护"的作用;阐明了二次衬砌结构作为安全储备功能的内涵,建立了二次衬砌结构的载荷分担比率与刚度匹配性、支护时机的关系,并据此给出了二次衬砌结构参数和施作时机的建议值;建立了以围岩变形量$S$最小和协同度$\xi$最优为目标,基于超前支护、初期支护和二次衬砌与围岩相互作用三阶段的协同支护优化模型,明确了支护结构体系与围岩、不同支护结构之间以及支护结构要素之间三个层次的协同关系,并提出了隧道支护结构体系协同优化设计方法. 相似文献

Recent tall buildings tend to have irregular and unconventional shapes as a prevailing but unavoidable trend, which is very effective for suppressing across-wind responses. Suppression of across-wind responses is a major factor in safety and habitability design of tall buildings, and the so-called aerodynamic modification method is comprehensively used. While the effectiveness of aerodynamic modification in reducing wind loads has been widely reported, there have been few detailed investigations of pressure fluctuations. The purpose of the present work is to investigate the spatio-temporal characteristics of pressure fluctuations applied to height-modified tall buildings comprehensively, including differences of vortex formation and shedding mechanism based on the previously reported mechanism of a conventional square tall building. The results show that taper and set-back affect on the bandwidth of power spectra and position of peak frequencies. And through taper and set-back, the height at which the vortex begins to form moves up, and due to the small building dimension, the vortex component formed at that height sheds from the building more frequently before an inverted conical vortex is formed over the whole height. 相似文献

针对地震作用下高层建筑振动分散控制问题,引入信息共享的重叠分散策略,研究高层建筑振动重叠分散控制子结构划分机理。基于线型二次型(LQR)最优控制的最优权矩阵和H∞鲁棒控制的最优输出评价矩阵,分析评价高层建筑重叠分散控制子结构不同划分策略时的控制效果。对某20层Benchmark结构模型进行数值模拟与分析,结果表明,本文提出的两种重叠分散控制方法的性能评价方法,可指导任意层数高层建筑振动重叠分散控制子结构的合理划分,既保证控制系统良好的控制效果,又保证控制力在合理的范围内。 相似文献
