The influences of microwave heating on the phase transformation of titania slag were systematically investigated. The thermal stability, surface chemical functional groups and microstructure of the titania slag before and after microwave heating, at a temperature of 950?°C for 60 min, were also analyzed using thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectrum and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The TG-DSC analysis revealed that the phase transformation of the titania slag from anatase TiO2 to rutile TiO2 occurred between 750 and 1000 °C. The FT-IR rustles demonstrate that the banding form of Ti4+, Ti3+ and Ti2+ ions and the methyl groups on the surface of the titania slag has changed and a new chemical bond Ti–OH was formed. The results of SEM showed that a large number of regulation rutile TiO2 crystals were found on the surface of the microwave-treated samples and the synthetic rutile has been synthesized successfully using microwave heating.  相似文献

Hydrothermal method was used to prepare TiO2 nanoparticles with annealing temperature at 500 °C–700 °C. The mixture of anatase-rutile phase was investigated by powerful tool of X-ray diffraction (XRD). The structural parameters of anatase and rutile mixture phaseTiO2 nanoparticles were calculated from the Rietveld refinement. The transformation rate of rutile was increased linearly with an annealing temperature of 500 °C–700 °C. The spherical morphology of the anatase and rutile mixed phase were obtained by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. The spherical particle of the anatase and rutile TiO2 shows with great aggregation with different size and within the range of few tens nm. The EDAX study revealed the presence of titanium and oxygen. The best photocatalytic activity was identified as the 87.04% of anatase and 12.96% of rutile mixer phase of TiO2. Various factors could be involved for a better photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

A novel copper and sulfur codoped TiO2 photocatalyst was synthesized by modified sol-gel method using titanium(IV) isopropoxide, CuCl2·2H2O and thiourea as precursors. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive X-ray micro-analysis (SEM-EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis. The XRD results showed undoped and Cu,S-codoped TiO2 nanoparticles only include anatase phase. Effect of calcination temperature showed rutile phase appears in 650 and 700 °C for undoped and 0.1% Cu,S-codoped TiO2, respectively. The SEM analysis revealed the doping of Cu and S does not leave any change in morphology of the catalyst surface. The increase of copper doping enhanced “red-shift” in the UV-vis absorption spectra. The TEM images confirmed the dopants suppressed the growth of TiO2 grains. The photocatalytic activity of samples was tested for degradation of methyl orange (MO) solutions. The results showed photocatalytic activity of the catalysts with 0.05% Cu,0.05% S and 0.1% Cu,0.05% S were higher than that of other catalysts under ultraviolet (UV) and visible irradiation, respectively. Because of synergetic effect of S and Cu, the Cu,S-codoped TiO2 catalyst has higher activity than undoped and Cu or S doped TiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

In this paper we report on the effect of annealing on the microsctructural and optoelectronic properties of titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films prepared using sol-gel method onto silicon (Si) (100) and quartz substrates. The annealing temperatures range from 200 to 1000 °C. The Microstructural properties of annealed thin films were investigated by Thermal gravimetric analyses (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman Spectroscopy. The surface morphology of the film was examined using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) method. The optical properties of TiO2 thin films were characterized using UV-VIS and Spectroscopic ellipsometry. The results have shown that the TiO2 thin films persist in the anatase phase even after annealing at 800 °C. The phase transformation from anatase to rutile occurred only when the films were annealed at 1000 °C. AFM studies revealed nanocrystalline structure where their shape and density depend strongly on the annealing temperatures. The elaborated nanostructured-TiO2 thin films present a high transparency in the visible range. Spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) study was used to determine the effect of annealing temperature on the thickness and on the optical constant of TiO2 thin films. Spectroscopic ellipsometry and UV-VIS shows that the band gap of TiO2 thin films was found to decrease when the annealing temperature increases. The Anatase phase was find to show higher photocatalytic activity than the rutile one.  相似文献

In the present work anatase–rutile transformation temperature and its effect on physical/chemical properties as well as photocatalytic activity of TiO2 particles were investigated. The characterisation of the synthesised and annealed TiO2 particles were determined by X-Ray Powder Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area analysis (BET). The refraction in the ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) range was assessed using a dual-beam spectrophotometer. The photocatalytic performance of the particles was tested on methylene blue solution. The XRD data indicated that the percentage of rutile increased with the annealing temperature and almost 100% of anatase transformed to rutile at 1000 °C. In addition, the phase transformation was a linear function of annealing temperature so phase composition of TiO2 can be controlled by changing the annealing temperature. The SEM and BET results presented the increase of agglomerate size and the decrease of specific surface area with the increasing annealing temperature. This proved that anatase has smaller particle size and higher surface area than rutile. The photocatalytic activity of the annealed TiO2 powders reduced with the increase of annealing temperature. The samples annealed at 900 °C and 925 °C with anatase: rutile ratio of 92:8 and 77:23, respectively, showed the best activity. These results suggested that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 particles is a function of phase composition. Thus it can be enhanced by changing its phase composition which can be controlled by annealing temperature.  相似文献

We investigate an environmentally friendly aqueous solution system for rutile TiO2 violet color nanocrystalline thin films growth on ITO substrate at room temperature. Film shows considerable absorption in visible region with excitonic maxima at 434 nm. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), UV-vis, water surface contact angle and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) techniques in addition to actual photo-image that shows purely rutile phase of TiO2 with violet color, super-hydrophilic and densely packed nanometer-sized spherical grains of approximate diameter 3.15 ± 0.4 nm, characterize the films. Band gap energy of 4.61 eV for direct transition was obtained for the rutile TiO2 films. Film surface shows super-hydrophilic behavior, as exhibited water contact angle was 7°. Strong visible absorption (not due to chlorine) leaves future challenge to use these films in extremely thin absorber (ETA) solar cells.  相似文献

Ceramic coatings containing TiO2 were formed on Ti6Al2Zr1Mo1V alloy surface by microarc oxidation (MAO) method. The microstructure, phase and chemical composition of the coatings were analyzed by SEM, XRD and EDS techniques. The coating mainly consists of rutile TiO2 and a small amount of anatase TiO2. The infrared emissivity values of coated and uncoated titanium samples when exposed to 700 °C were tested. It was found that the coating exhibits a higher infrared emissivity value (about 0.9) in the wavelength range of 8–14 μm than that of the uncoated titanium alloy, although which shows a slight increase from 0.1 to 0.3 with increasing exposure time at 700 °C. The relatively high infrared emissivity value of the MAO coating is possibly attributed to the photon emission from the as formed TiO2 phase.  相似文献

Mixed phase TiO2 and Ce/TiO2 samples were synthesized by a sol–gel method using different hydrolysis conditions. In pure TiO2 samples, traditional X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Ti K-edge synchrotron X-ray absorption near edge structures (XANES) independently revealed their anatase/rutile phase ratios. XANES results further revealed a substantial amount of Ti atoms existed in other forms beside anatase and rutile TiO2 in the sample synthesized by the low hydrolysis condition. An increase in the extent of the hydrolysis during the synthesis leads to an increased rutile ratio and a reduction in other forms. In Ce/TiO2 samples, the crystal sizes were too small for XRD characterization. Only XANES could be used to characterize their phase ratios. It is found that adding Ce impedes rutile formation; leading to increased anatase ratio. The difference in the fundamental aspects of XRD and XANES techniques in providing the phase ratios is discussed.  相似文献

Anatase TiO2 nanowires with a diameter of 5-10 nm and length of 500 nm to 2 μm have been successfully synthesized by modifying TiO2 nanoparticles (P25) using the microwave heating method. The microwave power, reaction pressure, and reaction time for the synthesis of TiO2 nanowires were 500 W, 0.5-3.0 MPa (corresponding to a temperature range of 175-260), and 40-70 min, respectively. X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and the BET techniques were used to investigate the phase structures, morphologies, and specific surface areas of the TiO2 nanowires. The effects of reaction time, pressure, and different post-treatment processes on the microstructures of TiO2 nanowires were discussed. It has been shown that the microwave heating method is efficient in transforming TiO2 nanoparticles to anatase TiO2 nanowires.  相似文献

Confocal Raman microscopy, a relatively new and advanced technique, is found to be suitable for imaging the chemical morphology below the submicrometer scale. It has been employed to probe the phase transformation of carbon‐containing titania (TiO2) nanopowder and titania thin film subjected to laser annealing. The observation of phase transformation from the anatase phase to the rutile phase at high laser power annealing is attributed to carbon inclusion inside or on the surface of titania. Upon annealing, carbon could react with the oxygen of titania and create oxygen vacancies favoring the transformation from the anatase to the rutile phase. This study provides evidence for the carbon‐assisted phase transformation for creating carbon‐containing mixed‐phase titanium dioxide by laser annealing. We explicitly focus on the presence of carbon in the phase transformation of TiO2 using confocal Raman microscopy. In all of the investigated samples, mixed anatase/rutile phases with carbon specifically was found at the rutile site. X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy‐dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) studies have been performed in addition to Raman mapping to verify the mixed‐phase titania formation. Fe3+-doped TiO2 film deposited on fly ash cenosphere (Fe-TiO2/FAC) was successfully synthesized by the sol-gel method. These fresh photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). The XRD results showed that Fe element can maintain metastable anatase phase of TiO2, and effect of temperature showed rutile phase appears in 650 °C for 0.01% Fe-TiO2/FAC. The SEM analysis revealed the Fe-TiO2 films on the surface of a fly ash cenosphere with a thickness of 2 μm. The absorption threshold of Fe-TiO2/FACs shifted to a longer wavelength compared to the photocatalyst without Fe3+-doping in the UV-vis absorption spectra. The photocatalytic activity and kinetics of Fe-TiO2/FAC with varying the iron content and the calcination temperatures were investigated by measuring the photodegradation of methyl blue (MB) during visible light irradiation. Compared with TiO2/FAC and Fe3+-doped TiO2 powder (Fe-TiO2), the degradation ratio using Fe-TiO2/FAC increased by 33% and 30%, respectively, and the best calcined temperature was 450 °C and the optimum doping of Fe/Ti molar ratio was 0.01%. The Fe-TiO2/FAC particles can float in water due to the low density of FAC in favor of phase separation to recover these photocatalyst after the reaction, and the recovery test shows that calcination contributes to regaining photocatalytic activity of Fe-TiO2/FAC photocatalyst.  相似文献

Bulk nanocomposites ZnO–SnO2–TiO2 were synthesized by solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction patterns and Raman spectra of bulk nanocomposite as a function of sintering temperature (700 °C–1300 °C) indicate that the structural phases of SnO2 and TiO2 depend on the sintering temperature while the ZnO retains its hexagonal wurtzite phase at all sintering temperatures and SnO2 started to transform into SnO at 900 °C and completely converted into SnO at 1100 °C, whereas the titanium dioxide (TiO2) exhibits its most stable phase such as rutile at low sintering temperature (≤900°C) and it transforms partially into brookite phase at high sintering temperature (≥ 900 °C). The optical band gap of nanocomposite ZnO–SnO2–TiO2 sintered at 700 °C, 900 °C, 1100 °C and 1300 °C for 16 hours is calculated using the transformed diffuse reflectance ultra violet visible near infra red (UV–VisNIR) spectra and has been found to be 3.28, 3.29, 3.31 and 3.32 eV, respectively.

Nanocrystalline titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films composed of densely packed nanometer-sized grains have been successfully deposited onto an indium-doped-tin oxide (ITO) substrate. Then cadmium sulphoselenide (CdSSe) thin film was deposited onto pre-deposited TiO2 to form a TiO2/CdSSe film, at low temperature using a simple and inexpensive chemical method. The X-ray diffraction, selected area electron diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and water contact angle techniques were used for film characterization. Purely rutile phase of TiO2 with super-hydrophilic and densely packed nanometer-sized spherical grains of approximate diameter 30-40 (±2) nm was observed. The increase in optical absorption was observed after CdSSe film deposition. Nest like surface morphology of CdSSe on TiO2 surface results in air trapping in the crevices which prevents water from adhering to the film with increase in water contact angle. Photosensitization of TiO2 with CdSSe was confirmed with light illumination intensity of 80 mW/cm2.  相似文献

Single crystalline rutile titanium oxide nanowires have been synthesized in bulk yield based on commercial metal titanium by a facile water-assisted chemical vapor deposition method. The morphology, crystallinity, and phase structure of the nanowires have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). This growth strategy is applicable for commercial metal titanium substrate with different spatial dimensions, such as powder, network mesh, and flat foil. The as-synthesized nanowires are found to be mainly composed of single crystalline rutile TiO2 nanowires in spiral shape with a small amount of hexagonal Ti2O nanowires with zigzag form. A growth mechanism has been proposed to explain the novel spiral and zigzag types of titanium oxide nanowires under moderate temperature (850 °C). This method promises an alternative way for industrialization of titanium oxide nanowires which may serve as a good candidate for various industrial applications such as optoelectronic, electronic, and electrochemical nanodevices.  相似文献

Anatase TiO2 and W doped TiO2 films were fabricated by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) on titanium substrates and their hydrogen sensing properties were investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the oxide films and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was applied to investigate the gas sensing mechanism. It is found that the conductivity of TiO2 films varies with the introduction of W dopant. EIS analysis reveals that the grains and especially the grain boundaries are mainly contributed to the hydrogen response and their equivalent circuits could be represented electrochemically by parallel resistor and constant phase element (CPE). The enhanced sensor signal at higher measuring temperature (300 °C) is observed with an optimal doping concentration of W ions (1.81 at.%).  相似文献

Nanocrystalline thin films of TiO2 were prepared on glass substrates from an aqueous solution of TiCl3 and NH4OH at room temperature using the simple and cost-effective chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. The influence of deposition time on structural, morphological and optical properties was systematically investigated. TiO2 transition from a mixed anatase–rutile phase to a pure rutile phase was revealed by low-angle XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Rutile phase formation was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. Scanning electron micrographs revealed that the multigrain structure of as-deposited TiO2 thin films was completely converted into semi-spherical nanoparticles. Optical studies showed that rutile thin films had a high absorption coefficient and a direct bandgap. The optical bandgap decreased slightly (3.29–3.07 eV) with increasing deposition time. The ease of deposition of rutile thin films at low temperature is useful for the fabrication of extremely thin absorber (ETA) solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, and gas sensors.  相似文献

The continuous TiO2 fibers were prepared by sol-gel method using the tetrabutyl orthotitanate as the precursor. The sol-formation process is studied by FT-IR spectroscopy. The synthesized continuous TiO2 fibers were characterized using SEM, HRTEM and XRD. Results demonstrate that the titanate sol has good spinnability when R ≤ 2 (R = H2O:Ti(OC4H9)4, molar ratio). The fibers have the length of several meters and the diameter of about 30 μm. The fibers are a radial close-packed product of nano-particles with high crystallinity. The continuous TiO2 fibers are co-crystal including anatase phase and rutile phase. The formaldehyde degradation ratio of continuous TiO2 fiber was 98.6%.  相似文献

TiO2 nanoparticles doped with different Ag contents were prepared by a modified sol–gel method, using titanium tetraisopropoxide and silver nitrate as precursors and 2-propanol as solvent. Silver was incorporated into the TiO2 matrix via decomposition of AgNO3 during thermal treatment in different atmospheres. Effects of Ag doping on the crystallization and phase transition of the TiO2 nanoparticles were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy techniques. While air annealing incorporates silver into TiO2 matrix in silver oxide form, annealing in nitrogen incorporates metallic silver into TiO2. Formation of silver oxide increases the thermal stability of the TiO2 particles. Silver oxide affects the crystallization process of TiO2 particles and the temperature of transition form anatase to rutile. On the other hand, presence of metallic silver in the samples annealed in nitrogen atmosphere decreases the temperature of phase transition of TiO2 nanoparticles.  相似文献

Nanocrystal samples (particle size about 90 nm) of Eu3+-doped rutile titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanocrystals (rutile Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals) were synthesized by the sol–gel method with hydrothermal treatment. The pressure effect on photoluminescence (PL) and Raman spectra of the rutile Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals was investigated with a diamond anvil cell under hydrostatic pressure condition. Raman spectra of the samples at high pressures indicated that the critical pressure for the transition from the rutile phase to a new baddeleyite-type phase was between 10 and 14.2 GPa. The position of Raman bands shifted to high wavenumbers and the PL intensity of 5D 07F 2 transition of Eu3+ decreased down to zero with the increase of pressure before the phase transition occurred. After releasing the pressure, the rutile phase was not recovered and a α-PbO2-type phase was observed at ambient pressure.  相似文献
