The present study explores the free convective oblique Casson fluid over a stretching surface with non-linear thermal radiation effects. The governing physical problem is modelled and transformed into a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations by suitable similarity transformation, which are solved numerically with the help of shooting method keeping the convergence control of 10~(-5) in computations. Influence of pertinent physical parameters on normal, tangential velocity profiles and temperature are expressed through graphs. Physical quantities of interest such as skin friction coefficients and local heat flux are investigated numerically.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the development of a novel approximate and numerical method for the solutions of linear and non-linear oscillatory systems, which are common in engineering dynamics. The original physical information included in the governing equations of motion is mostly transferred into the approximate and numerical solutions. Therefore, the approximate and numerical solutions generated by the present method reflect more accurately the characteristics of the motion of the systems. Furthermore, the solutions derived are continuous everywhere with good accuracy and convergence in comparing with Runge-Kutta method. An approximate solution is developed for a linear oscillatory problem and compared with its corresponding exact solution. A non-linear oscillatory problem is also solved numerically and compared with the solutions of Runge-Kutta method. Both the graphical and numerical comparisons are provided in the paper. The accuracy of the approximate and numerical solutions can be controlled as desired by the number of terms in the Taylor series and the value of a single parameter used in the present work. Formulae for numerical computation in solving various linear and non-linear oscillatory problems by the new approach are provided in the paper.  相似文献

We derive the non-linear integral equations determining the free energy of the three-state pure bosonic Uimin-Sutherland model. In order to find a complete set of auxiliary functions, the anti-symmetric fusion procedure is utilized. We solve the non-linear integral equations numerically and see that the low-temperature behavior coincides with that predicted by conformal field theory. The magnetization and magnetic susceptibility are also calculated by means of the non-linear integral equation.  相似文献

A computational analysis of the non-linear vibration and thermal post-buckling of a heated orthotropic annular plate with a central rigid mass is examined for the cases of immovably hinged as well as clamped constraint conditions of the outer edge. First, based on von Karman's plate theory and Hamilton's principles, the governing equations, in terms of the displacements of the middle plane, of the problem are derived. Then, upon assuming that harmonic responses of the system exist, the non-linear partial differential equations are converted into the corresponding non-linear ordinary differential equations through elimination of the time variable by using the Kantorovich time-averaging method. Finally, by applying a shooting method, the fundamental responses of the non-linear vibration and thermal post-buckling of the plate are numerically obtained. For some prescribed values of the parameters, such as the material rigidity ratio, temperature rise and so on, the curves of the fundamental frequency versus specified amplitude and the thermal post-buckled equilibrium paths of the plate are numerically presented.  相似文献

This paper presents a semi-analytical method for calculating the dispersion relationships for stationary non-linear TE waves guided by general multilayer waveguides with Kerr-like permittivities. The non-linear wave equations are solved rigorously for each layer, and the mode index and field distribution are systematically determined so as to satisfy the boundary conditions at all interfaces. To verify the validity of the present method, a non-linear graded-index waveguide is approximated by a number of step layers and the resultant multilayer waveguide is analysed numerically. The convergence properties of mode index and total power flow are presented, and these are compared with direct solutions of the non-linear wave equation by the numerical integration method. The dispersion relationships for a non-linear multiple-quantum-well waveguide have also been investigated under two simple permittivity models. The present method is useful for the analysis of non-linear graded-index waveguides in addition to non-linear multilayer waveguides such as the multiple-quantum-well structure.  相似文献

An electro-magnetic controllable dry friction damper has been designed and numerically simulated. The gust response of a three degree-of-freedom typical airfoil section with a control surface using this non-linear damper has been studied theoretically. The effects of the different gust excitations and parameter variations of the non-linear damper on the non-linear aeroelastic response are discussed. The numerical results show the present electro-magnetic dry friction damper can be used to alleviate the dynamic response to both a periodic and a linear frequency sweep gust excitation, especially for the plunge and pitch responses. The results are also verified by an experimental investigation in a wind tunnel presented in a companion paper, Part 2.  相似文献

A slab waveguide with an embedded non-linear grating is considered as an all-optical power-limiting device. The limiting action is based on the power losses at boundaries between grating sections, where a mode-mismatch results from the self-focusing of the fundamental mode in each non-linear section. Time-harmonic and optical pulse propagation are both modelled numerically by finite-difference techniques to demonstrate the behaviour of the device. A numerical prediction method has been proposed to predict non-linear free surface oscillation in a three-dimensional container. The fluid motions are numerically predicted with Navier-Stokes equations discretized in a Lagrangian scheme with sufficient numerical accuracy. The profile of a free surface is precisely represented with three-dimensional body-fitted coordinates (BFC), which are regenerated in each computational step on the basis of the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) formulation. The computational method was applied to non-linear sloshings and transitions from sloshing to swirling motions. An analysis is performed to study the influence of local thermal non-equilibrium (LTNE) on unsteady MHD laminar boundary layer flow of viscous, incompressible fluid over a vertical stretching plate embedded in a sparsely packed porous medium in the presence of heat generation/absorption. The flow in the porous medium is governed by Brinkman-Forchheimer extended Darcy model. A uniform heat source or sink is presented in the solid phase. By applying similarity analysis, the governing partial differential equations are transformed into a set of time dependent non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations and they are solved numerically by Runge-Kutta Fehlberg method along with shooting technique. The obtained results are displayed graphically to illustrate the influence of different physical parameters on the velocity, temperature profile and heat transfer rate for both fluid and solid phases. Moreover, the numerical results obtained in this study are compared with the existing literature in the case of LTE and found that they are in good agreement.  相似文献

This paper is focused on the study of the viscous Powell-Eyring liquid thin film flow and heat transfer driven by an unsteady stretching sheet in the presence of slip velocity and non-uniform heat generation. A system of equations for momentum and thermal energy are reduced to a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations with the aid of dimensionless transformation. The resulting seven-parameter problem has been solved numerically by using an efficient shooting technique coupled with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta algorithm over the entire range of physical parameters. To interpret various physical parameters governing the flow and heat transfer which appear in the momentum and energy equations, the results are presented graphically. The present results are compared with some of the earlier published work in some limiting cases and are found to be in an excellent agreement. This favorable comparison lends confidence in the numerical results to be reported in the present work. Furthermore, the effects of the parameters governing the thin film flow and heat transfer are examined and discussed through graphs and tables. Also, the values of the local skin-friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number for different values of physical parameters are presented through tables. Additionally, the obtained results for some particular cases of the present problem appear in good agreement with the literature review.  相似文献

In this letter, a mathematical model for transient nature thin film flow of Maxwell nanofluid over a rotating disk is studied in the presence of a uniform magnetic field and non-linear thermal radiation. The Brownian motion and thermophoresis features due to nanofluid are captured by adopting the Buongiorno model. The prime emphasize is to explore the temperature field and nanoparticles volume fraction in nanofluid thin film flow. The reduced system of differential equations is solved numerically by finite difference based method namely bvp4c. The numerical outcomes regarding film thickness, Nusselt number, Sherwood number, velocity, temperature, and concentration are revealed for varying estimation of involved physical parameters. It is shown that the film thickness decreases with increasing values of the magnetic number. Further, the impact of thermophoresis and thermal radiation parameters is worthwhile in enhancing the fluid temperature. The Solute concentration is found to decrease with Brownian motion and Schmidt number.  相似文献

Current study examines the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer flow of a Casson nanofluid over an exponentially permeable shrinking sheet with convective boundary condition. Moreover, we have considered the suction/injection effects on the wall. By applying the appropriate transformations, system of non-linear partial differential equation along with the boundary conditions are transformed to couple non-linear ordinary differential equations. The resulting systems of non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using Runge-Kutta method. Numerical results for velocity, temperature and nanoparticle volume concentration are presented through graphs for various values of dimensionless parameters. Effects of parameters for heat transfer at wall and nanoparticle volume concentration are also presented through graphs and tables. At the end, fluid flow behavior is examined through stream lines. 为了对径向线内电子束的空间极限电流及相关物理参量进行分析, 在径向方向无穷长与束流密度轴向均匀的假设条件下, 对电势满足的线性泊松方程进行了解析求解, 得到了空间极限电流的解析表达式, 接下来对束流密度轴向非均匀分析条件下电势满足的非线性方程进行了数值求解, 并与解析结果进行了对比。研究表明径向电子束具有较高的空间极限电流且当束流接近于极限电流传输时, 束密度的非均匀性明显增加, 相关结论可以为径向高功率微波器件的设计提供指导。  相似文献

 当激光辐照金属/炸药复合介质外表面时,在变物性及界面有接触热阻的条件下,用二维线性瞬态导焓方程,数值计算了介质内部温度场时空分布。作为特例,将常物性及无接触热阻下的数值解与相同条件下的二维线性瞬态导热方程的解析解相比较,结果表明数值法的计算程序及结果是可信的。  相似文献

This paper deals with the study of the effect of MHD on thin films of a micropolar fluid. These thin films are considered for three different geometries, namely: (i) flow down an inclined plane, (ii) flow on a moving belt and (iii) flow down a vertical cylinder. The transformed boundary layer governing equations of a micropolar fluid and the resulting system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by using shooting method. Numerical results were presented for velocity and micro-rotation profiles within the boundary layer for different parameters of the problem including micropolar fluid parameters, magnetic field parameter, etc., which are also discussed numerically and illustrated graphically.  相似文献

This paper models the dielectric corona pre-ionization, capacitor transfer type of flat-plane transmission line traveling wave transverse excited atmospheric pressure nitrogen laser by a non-linear lumped RLC electric circuit. The flat-plane transmission line and the pre-ionizer dielectric are modeled by a lumped linear RLC and time-dependent non-linear RC circuit, respectively. The main discharge region is considered as a time-dependent non-linear RLC circuit where its resistance value is also depends on the radiated pre-ionization ultra violet (UV) intensity. The UV radiation is radiated by the resistance due to the surface plasma on the pre-ionizer dielectric. The theoretical predictions are in a very good agreement with the experimental observations. The electric circuit equations (including the ionization rate equations), the equations of laser levels population densities and propagation equation of laser intensities, are solved numerically. As a result, the effects of pre-ionizer dielectric parameters on the electrical behavior and output laser intensity are obtained.  相似文献
