The kinetics of aromatic nucleophilic substitution of the nitric oxide‐generating diazeniumdiolate ion, DEA/NO, by thiols (L ‐glutathione, L ‐cysteine, DL ‐homocysteine, 1‐propanethiol, 2‐mercaptoethanol, and sodium thioglycolate) from the prodrug, DNP‐DEA/NO, has been examined in aqueous solution and in solutions of cationic DOTAP vesicles. Second‐order rate constants in buffered aqueous solutions (kRS‐ = 3.48–30.9 M?1 s?1; 30 °C) gave a linear Brønsted plot (βnuc = 0.414 ± 0.068) consistent with the rate‐limiting SNAr nucleophilic attack by thiolate ions. Cationic DOTAP vesicles catalyze the thiolysis reactions with rate enhancements between 11 and 486‐fold in Tris‐HCl buffered solutions at pH 7.4. The maximum rate increase was obtained with thioglycolate ion. Thiolysis data are compared to data for nucleophilic displacement by phenolate (kPhO‐ = 0.114 M?1 s?1) and hydroxide (kOH‐ = 1.82 × 10?2 M?1 s?1, 37 °C) ions. The base hydrolysis reaction is accelerated by CTAB micelles and DODAC vesicles, with the vesicles being ca 3‐fold more effective as catalysts. Analysis of the data using pseudo‐phase ion‐exchange (PIE) formalism implies that the rate enhancement of the thiolysis and base hydrolysis reactions is primarily due to reactant concentration in the surfactant pseudo‐phase. Rate constants are reported for the reactions of 1‐phenoxy‐dinitrobenzenes, 3 , 1‐phenoxy‐dinitrotrifluoromethylbenzenes, 4 , with n‐propylamine, and 1‐methylheptylamine in acetonitrile as solvent. The results are compared with results reported previously for n‐butylamine, pyrrolidine, and piperidine. Decreasing ring activation leads to lower values of k1 for nucleophilic attack although this may be mediated by reduced steric congestion around the reaction centre. Specific steric effects, leading to rate retardation, are noted for the ortho‐CF3 group. In general, reactant‐bearing ortho‐CF3 group were subject to base catalysis irrespective of the amine nucleophile and values of kAm/k?1 are reduced as the size of the amine get bulkier. This is likely to reflect increases in values of k?1 coupled with decreases in values of kAm as the proton transfer from zwitterionic intermediates to catalysing amine becomes less thermodynamically favourable.  相似文献

A homogeneous, molecular, gas‐phase elimination kinetics of 2‐phenyl‐2‐propanol and 3‐methyl‐1‐ buten‐3‐ol catalyzed by hydrogen chloride in the temperature range 325–386 °C and pressure range 34–149 torr are described. The rate coefficients are given by the following Arrhenius equations: for 2‐phenyl‐2‐propanol log k1 (s?1) = (11.01 ± 0.31) ? (109.5 ± 2.8) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1 and for 3‐methyl‐1‐buten‐3‐ol log k1 (s?1) = (11.50 ± 0.18) ? (116.5 ± 1.4) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1. Electron delocalization of the CH2?CH and C6H5 appears to be an important effect in the rate enhancement of acid catalyzed tertiary alcohols in the gas phase. A concerted six‐member cyclic transition state type of mechanism appears to be, as described before, a rational interpretation for the dehydration process of these substrates. The conversion of the Z‐phenylhydrazone of 5‐amino‐3‐benzoyl‐1,2,4‐oxadiazole ( 1a ) into the relevant 1,2,3‐triazole ( 2a) has been quantitatively studied in toluene in the presence of several halogenoacetic acids ( HAA s, 3a – h ). Again, the occurrence of two reaction pathways has been pointed out: they require one or two moles of acid, respectively, thus repeating the situation previously observed in the presence of trichloroacetic acid. The observed rate constant ratios (kIII/kII) are only slightly affected by the nature of the acid used. To gain a deeper insight into the action of the acids used we have measured the association constants of the HAA s ( 3a – h) with 4‐nitroaniline ( 4 ) in toluene. Also in this case, the formation of two complexes requiring one (K2) or two (K3) moles of acid has been evidenced, but now the K3/K2 ratios are significantly affected by the strength of the acid examined. The variation of the K3/K2 ratios larger than those concerning the kIII/kII ratios appears useful to enlighten the very nature of the acid‐catalyzed pathways in toluene, which has been elucidated also carrying out the rearrangement in the presence of mixtures of tribromo‐ and trichloro‐acetic acids at different concentrations. The reactions of O‐(4‐methylphenyl) S‐(4‐nitrophenyl) dithiocarbonate and O‐(4‐chlorophenyl) S‐(4‐nitrophenyl) dithiocarbonate with a series of anilines are subjected to a kinetic investigation in 44 wt% ethanol–water, at 25.0 °C and an ionic strength of 0.2 M. The reactions are followed spectrophotometrically at 420 nm (appearance of 4‐nitrobenzenethiolate anion). Under excess amine, pseudo‐first‐order rate coefficients (kobs) are found. For the reactions of both substrates with anilines, plots of kobs versus free amine concentration at constant pH are nonlinear upwards, according to a second‐order polynomial equation. This kinetic behavior is in agreement with a stepwise mechanism consisting of two tetrahedral intermediates, one zwitterionic (T±) and the other anionic (T?), with a kinetically significant proton transfer from T± to an aniline to yield T?. The rate equation was derived from the proposed mechanism. By nonlinear least‐squares fitting of the rate equation to the experimental data, values of the rate micro‐coefficients involved in both steps were determined. We studied the cleave of bis(p‐nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP) over a pH range of 7.0–12.0 in the presence of cationic micelles of cetyldiethylethanolammonium bromide, cetyldimethylethanolammonium bromide, cetylpyridinium bromide, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and cetylpyridinium chloride by using different α‐nucleophiles, viz acetohydroxamate, benzohydroxamate, salicylhydroxamate, butane‐2,3‐dione monooximate, and α‐benzoin oximate ions. With the use of α‐nucleophiles in cationic micellar media, the hydrolytic cleavage of BNPP was found to be approximately 105‐fold faster than its spontaneous hydrolysis. All reactions followed pseudo‐first‐order kinetics. The effect of various concentrations of cationic micelles for the reaction of BNPP and α‐nucleophiles has been studied. The variation of kobs values of the reactions depends on the micellar structure, that is, head groups, hydrophobic tail length, and counter ion. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Second‐order rate constants (k2) were determined for the addition of ten nitrogenous organic compounds (benzylamine, 2,2,2‐trifluoethylamine chlorhidrate, methylamine chlorhidrate, glycine ethyl ester chlorhidrate, glycine, glycylglycine chlorhidrate, morpholine, pyperidine, pyperazine and dimethylamine) to the N‐chloro‐N‐methyl‐p‐toluenesulfonamide (NCNMPT) in the formation reaction of N‐chloramines in aqueous solution at 25 °C and ionic strength 0.5 M. The series of nucleophiles considered is structurally very varied and covers five pKa units. The kinetic behaviour is similar for all compounds, being the elementary step the transfer of chlorine from the NCNMPT molecule to the nitrogen of the free amino group. These reactions were found first order in both reagents. The values of the rate constants indicate that the more basic amines produce N‐chloramines more readily. Rate constants for the nucleophilic attack are shown to correlate with literature data for some of these nitrogenous organic compounds in their reaction with N‐methyl‐N‐nitroso‐p‐toluenesulfonamide. Both reactions involve that the rate determining step is the attack of nitrogenous compounds upon electrophilic centre (Cl or else NO group). NCNMPT is a particularly interesting substrate, for which has not hitherto been published kinetic information, that allows us to assess the efficiency and the competitiveness of this reaction and compare it with other agents with a Cl+ atom. The kinetics of the reactions of 2,4‐dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) and 2,4‐dinitrochlorobenzene (DNClB) with 2‐guanidinobenzimidazole (2‐GB) at 40 ± 0.2 °C in dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), toluene, and in toluene–DMSO mixtures, and with 1‐(2‐aminoethyl)piperidine (2‐AEPip) and N‐(3‐aminopropyl)morpholine (3‐APMo) in toluene at 25 ± 0.2 °C were studied under pseudo first‐order conditions. For the reactions of 2‐GB carried out in pure DMSO, the second‐order rate coefficients were independent of the amine concentration. In contrast, the reactions of 2‐GB with DNFB in toluene, showed a kinetic behaviour consistent with a base‐catalysed decomposition of the zwitterionic intermediate. These results suggest an intramolecular H‐bonding of 2‐GB in toluene, which is not present in DMSO. To confirm this interpretation the reactions were studied in DMSO–toluene mixtures. Small amounts of DMSO produce significant increase in rate that is not expected on the basis of the classical effect of a dipolar aprotic medium; the effect is consistent with the formation of a nucleophile/co‐solvent mixed aggregate. For the reactions of 3‐APMo with both substrates in toluene, the second‐order rate coefficients, kA, show a linear dependence on the [amine]. 3‐APMo is able to form a six‐membered ring by an intramolecular H‐bond which prevents the formation of self‐aggregates. In contrast, a third order was observed in the reactions with 2‐AEPip: these results can be interpreted as a H‐bonded homo‐aggregate of the amine acting as a better nucleophile than the monomer. Most of these results can be well explained within the frame of the ‘dimer nucleophile’ mechanism. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The aminolysis reaction of a series of β‐lactams in the presence of poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI) at 30°C and pH = 8.40 has been studied. The substrates investigated follow a pseudo first order rate, except two β‐lactams which show a two step consecutive reaction. Increasing the polyelectrolyte concentration, Michaelis–Menten type kinetics are been observed and for four substrates a more complex rate behaviour was verified owing to the polyelectrolyte inhibition effect. Both the binding constant K1 between polyelelectrolyte and β‐lactam and the first order rate constant of the reactive complex decomposition kcat were calculated. The substituent effect at C‐6′ or C‐7′ position of β‐lactam on the aminolysis rate does not correlate with the σI value (Taft plot). Most probably, steric and electronic effects are important, but the electrostatic ones are determining factors for the relevant acceleration attributable to both the binding phenomena and the increased reactivity of the substrate–polyelectrolyte complex. The comparison between poly(ethyleneimine) and Human Serum Albumin (HSA) is also discussed. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The reactions of O‐(4‐methylphenyl) S‐(4‐nitrophenyl) dithiocarbonate ( 1 ), O‐(4‐chlorophenyl) S‐(4‐nitrophenyl) dithiocarbonate ( 2 ), and O‐(4‐chlorophenyl) S‐phenyl) dithiocarbonate ( 3 ) with a series of pyridines were subjected to a kinetic investigation in 44 wt% ethanol–water, at 25.0 °C and an ionic strength of 0.2 M. The reactions were followed spectrophotometrically. Under amine excess, pseudo‐first‐order rate coefficients (kobs) were determined. For the studied reactions, plots of kobs versus free pyridine concentration at constant pH were linear, with the slope (kN) independent of pH. The Brønsted‐type plots for ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) were biphasic, suggesting a stepwise mechanism with a change in the rate‐determining step, from breakdown to the formation of a tetrahedral intermediate (T±), as the basicity of the pyridines increases. For the reactions of ( 3 ), at the pKa range of the pyridines studied, only the breakdown to products of T± was observed. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The reactions of O‐(4‐methylphenyl) S‐(4‐nitrophenyl), O‐(4‐chlorophenyl) (4‐nitrophenyl), O‐(4‐chlorophenyl) S‐phenyl, and O‐(4‐methylphenyl) S‐phenyl dithiocarbonates ( 1 , 2 , 3 , and 4 , respectively) with a series of secondary alicyclic (SA) amines are subjected to a kinetic investigation in 44 wt% ethanol‐water, at 25.0 °C and an ionic strength of 0.2 M. The reactions are followed spectrophotometrically. Under amine excess, pseudo‐first‐order rate coefficients (kobs) are found. For some of the reactions, plots of kobs vs. free amine concentration at constant pH are linear but others are nonlinear upwards. This kinetic behavior is in accordance with a stepwise mechanism with two tetrahedral intermediates, one zwitterionic (T±) and the other anionic (T?). In some cases, there is a kinetically significant proton transfer from T± to an amine to yield T?. Values of the rate micro constants k1 (amine attack to form T±), k?1 (its back step), k2 (nucleofuge expulsion from T±), and k3 (proton transfer from T± to the amine) are determined for some reactions. The Brønsted plots for k1 are linear with slopes β1 = 0.2–0.4 in accordance with the slope values found when T± formation is the rate‐determining step. The sensitivity of log k1 and log k?1 to the pKa of the amine, leaving and non‐leaving groups are determined by a multiparametric equation. For the reactions of 1 – 4 with 1‐formylpiperazine and those of 3 and 4 with morpholine the k2 and k3 steps are rate determining. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The reactions of bis(4‐nitrophenyl), 3‐chlorophenyl 4‐nitrophenyl, and 3‐methoxyphenyl 4‐nitrophenyl thionocarbonates ( 1 , 2 , and 3 , respectively) with a series of anilines are subjected to a kinetic investigation in 44 wt.% ethanol–water, at 25.0 °C and an ionic strength of 0.2 M. Under aniline excess, pseudo‐first‐order rate coefficients (kobs) are found. Plots of kobs versus aniline concentration are linear, with the slopes (kN) pH independent, kN being the rate coefficient for the anilinolysis of the thionocarbonates. The Brønsted plot (log kN vs. pKa of anilinium ions) for thionocarbonate 1 is linear, with slope (β) 0.62, which is consistent with a concerted mechanism. The Brønsted plots for thionocarbonates 2 and 3 are curved, with slopes 0.1 at high pKa for both reaction series and slopes 0.84 and 0.79 at low pKa for the reactions of 2 and 3 , respectively. The latter plots are in accordance to stepwise mechanisms, through a zwitterionic tetrahedral intermediate (T±) and its anionic analogue (T?), the latter being formed by deprotonation of T± by the basic form of the buffer (HPO). The Brønsted curves are explained by a change in the rate‐limiting step, from deprotonation of T± at low pKa, to its formation at high pKa. The influence of the amine nature and the non‐leaving and electrophilic groups of the substrate on the kinetics and mechanism is also discussed. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Cyclonona‐3,5,7‐trienylidene ( 1 ) changes from being a transition state (TS) to minimum states when substituted by α‐methyl groups and ?‐X, where X = CMe2, NMe, PMe, O, S, cyclopropyl, and SiMe2 ( 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , respectively) at density functional theory. Specifically, the parent carbene 1 exhibits a negative vibrational force constant and proves to be an unreachable electrophilic TS while shows Cs symmetry with an NBO atomic charge of +0.70 on its carbenic center. It has a triplet ground state with a rather small singlet‐triplet energy gap (ΔEs–t = ?4.1 kcal/mol). In contrast, all of its seven scrutinized derivatives enjoy reachable global minima, with C1 symmetry, desired nucleophilicity, and singlet closed shell (Scs) ground states (for all but 8 which remains triplet). Stability is indicated by relative ΔEs–t values: 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 1 > 8 . The highest ΔEs–t as well as NBO carbenic atomic negative charge (?0.74) are displayed by 2 . Our carbenes ( 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 ) appear more nucleophilic than the synthesized N‐heterocyclic carbenes (imidazol‐2‐ylidenes). Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The kinetics of nucleophilic bimolecular substitution reactions of γ‐functionalized allyl bromides with non‐substituted and p‐substituted sodium arenesulfinates has been studied. Both the structure of allyl bromides and nucleophilicity of arenesulfinate ions exerted a significant effect on the values of the kinetic parameters such as the second‐order rate constants k, activation energy EA, and changes in the entropy ΔS, enthalpy ΔH, and free energy ΔG of the formation of the activated complex from reactants. Based on the evaluation of kinetic parameters, the reactants could be arranged, according to their decreasing reactivity in the SN2‐reactions as follows: p‐toluenesulfinate ion > benzenesulfinate ion > p‐chlorobenzenesulfinate ion and 4‐bromo‐2‐butenenitrile > 1,3‐ dibromopropene, respectively. Comparison was also made between the kinetic data obtained and some delocalization reactivity indexes for both the substrates and nucleophiles. The enthalpy–entropy compensation effect was observed for the reactions of sodium arenesulfinates with γ‐functionalized allyl bromides. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Recent spectroscopic investigations of various amino acids report intriguing high‐pressure and low‐temperature behavior of NH3+ groups and their influence on various hydrogen bonds in the system. In particular, the variation of the intensity of NH3+ torsional mode at different temperatures and pressures has received much attention. We report here the first in situ Raman investigations of fully deuterated α‐glycine up to ∼20 GPa. The discontinuous changes in COO and ND3+ modes across ∼3 GPa indicate subtle structural rearrangements in fully deuterated α‐glycine. The decrease in the intensity of ND3+ torsional mode is found to be similar to that of undeuterated α‐glycine. The pressure‐induced stiffening of N D and CD2 stretching modes are discussed in the context of changes in the hydrogen‐bonding interactions. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The aminoxyl radical 6‐trifluoromethyl‐benzotriazol‐N‐oxyl (TFNO) has been generated from the parent hydroxylamine 6‐CF3‐1‐hydroxy‐benzotriazole (TFBT) by one‐electron oxidation with a CeIV salt and characterized by spectrophotometry and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Rate constants of H‐abstraction (kH) by TFNO from a number of H‐donor benzylic substrates have been determined spectrophotometrically in MeCN solution at 25 °C. A radical H‐atom transfer (HAT) route of oxidation is substantiated for TFNO by several pieces of evidence. The kinetic data also testify the relevance of stereoelectronic effects upon the HAT reactivity of TFNO. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The gas‐phase elimination kinetics of the title compounds were carried out in a static reaction system and seasoned with allyl bromide. The working temperature and pressure ranges were 200–280 °C and 22–201.5 Torr, respectively. The reactions are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first‐order rate law. These substrates produce isobutene and corresponding carbamic acid in the rate‐determining step. The unstable carbamic acid intermediate rapidly decarboxylates through a four‐membered cyclic transition state (TS) to give the corresponding organic nitrogen compound. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: for tert‐butyl carbamate logk1 (s?1) = (13.02 ± 0.46) – (161.6 ± 4.7) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1, for tert‐butyl N‐hydroxycarbamate logk1 (s?1) = (12.52 ± 0.11) – (147.8 ± 1.1) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1, and for 1‐(tert‐butoxycarbonyl)‐imidazole logk1 (s?1) = (11.63 ± 0.21)–(134.9 ± 2.0) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1. Theoretical studies of these elimination were performed at Møller–Plesset MP2/6‐31G and DFT B3LYP/6‐31G(d), B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) levels of theory. The calculated bond orders, NBO charges, and synchronicity (Sy) indicate that these reactions are concerted, slightly asynchronous, and proceed through a six‐membered cyclic TS type. Results for estimated kinetic and thermodynamic parameters are discussed in terms of the proposed reaction mechanism and TS structure. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The gas‐phase elimination kinetics of tetrahydropyranyl phenoxy ethers: 2‐phenoxytetrahydro‐2H‐pyran, 2‐(4‐methoxyphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran, and 2‐(4‐tert‐butylphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran were determined in a static system, with the vessels deactivated with allyl bromide, and in the presence of the free radical inhibitor toluene. The working temperature and pressure were 330 to 390°C and 25 to 89 Torr, respectively. The reactions yielded DHP and the corresponding 4‐substituted phenol. The eliminations are homogeneous, unimolecular, and satisfy a first‐order rate law. The Arrhenius equations for decompositions were found as follows:
  • 2‐phenoxytetrahydro‐2H‐pyran
  • log k1 (s?1) = (14.18 ± 0.21) ? (211.6 ± 0.4) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1
  • 2‐(4‐methoxyphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran
  • log k1 (s?1) = (14.11 ± 0.18) ? (203.6 ± 0.3) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1
  • 2‐(4‐tert‐butylphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran
  • log k1 (s?1) = (14.08 ± 0.08) ? (205.9 ± 1.0) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1
The analysis of kinetic and thermodynamic parameters for thermal elimination of 2‐(4‐substituted‐phenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyranes suggests that the reaction proceeds via 4‐member cyclic transition state. The results obtained confirm a slight increase of rate constant with increasing electron donating ability groups in the phenoxy ring. The pyran hydrogen abstraction by the oxygen of the phenoxy group appears to be the determinant factor in the reaction rate.  相似文献

Air‐tolerant 2,4‐bis(2,4,6‐tri‐t‐butylphenyl)‐1,3‐diphosphacyclobutane‐2,4‐diyl singlet biradicals can be prepared by utilizing the unique reactivity of a kinetically stabilized P≡C triple bond compound. In this procedure, we studied the spectroscopic properties of a fundamental unsymmetrical P‐heterocyclic biradical containing both PEt and PMe moieties, and the effects of the PCH2OMe group in relation to the stability of the P‐heterocyclic biradical skeleton. The experimentally observed nuclear magnetic resonance and photo‐absorption parameters of 1‐ethyl‐3‐methyl‐2,4‐bis(2,4,6‐tri‐t‐butylphenyl)‐1,3‐diphosphacyclobutane‐2,4‐diyl were discussed based on our previous findings and density functional theory calculations, suggesting particular structural characteristics of the P‐heterocyclic biradical skeleton and aromatic substituent effects on the sp2‐C atoms in the 4‐membered ring. Introduction of the methoxymethyl group in the P2C2 biradical moiety gave more stabilized 1,3‐diphosphacyclobutane‐2,4‐diyl derivatives. In comparison with considerably unstable biradicals bearing propargyl substituents, relatively higher lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energies suggest reluctant oxidation of the P‐heterocyclic skeleton. In the present paper, reaction of zinc‐glycylphenylalanine ([Zn(II)‐Gly‐Phe]+) with ninhydrin has been investigated in gemini (m‐s‐m type; m = 16, s = 4–6) surfactants at temperature (70 °C) and pH (5.0). Monitoring the appearance of product at 400 nm was used to follow the kinetics, spectrophotometrically. The order of the reaction with respect to [Zn(II)‐Gly‐Phe]+ was unity while with respect to [ninhydrin] was fractional. The reaction constants involved in the mechanism were obtained. In addition to the rate constant (kΨ) increase and leveling‐off regions are observed with the geminis, just like as seen with conventional surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), the former produced a third region of increasing kΨ at higher concentrations. A close agreement between observed and calculated rate constants was found under varying experimental conditions. A suitable mechanism consistent with the experimental findings has been proposed.
