Purpose

Real-time tissue elastography, a qualitative elastography method, has shown promising results in the diagnostic work up of thyroid nodules. However, to our knowledge no study has evaluated a quantitative elastography method in the thyroid gland. The present study is a feasibility study evaluating Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse-Imaging, a novel quantitative elastography method in the thyroid gland.

Methods

ARFI-imaging involves the mechanical excitation of tissue using short-duration acoustic pulses to generate localized displacements in tissue. The displacements induce a lateral shear-wave propagation which is tracked using multiple laterally positioned ultrasound “tracking“ beams. Inclusion criteria were: thyroid nodules ?1 cm, non-functioning or hypo-functioning on radionuclide scanning, and cytological/histological assessment of thyroid nodule as reference method. All patients received conventional ultrasound, and examination of the thyroid gland including Power Doppler Ultrasound using a 9 MHz linear transducer, in addition real-time elastography (RTE) was performed at 9 MHz frequency and ARFI-imaging was performed at 4 MHz using Siemens (ACUSON S2000) B-mode-ARFI combination transducer.

Results

Sixty nodules in 55 patients were analyzed. Three nodules were papillary carcinoma. The stiffer the tissue the faster the shear wave propagates. The results obtained indicated that the shear wave velocity in thyroid lobes ranged between 0.5 and 4.9 m/s. The median velocity of ARFI-imaging in the healthy nodule-free thyroid gland, as well as in benign and malignant thyroid nodules was 1.98 m/s (range: 1.20-3.63 m/s), 2.02 m/s (range: 0.92-3.97 m/s), and 4.30 m/s (range: 2.40-4.50 m/s), respectively. While no significant difference in median velocity was found between healthy thyroid tissue and benign thyroid nodules, a significant difference was found between malignant thyroid nodules on the one hand and healthy thyroid tissue (p = 0.018) or benign thyroid nodules (p = 0.014) on the other hand. Specificity of ARFI-imaging for the differentiation of benign and malignant thyroid nodules was comparable with RTE (91-95%).

Conclusions

ARFI can be performed in the thyroid tissue with reliable results.  相似文献

Arterial stiffness has been shown to be a good indicator of arterial wall disease. However, a single parameter is insufficient to describe the complex stress-strain relationship of a multi-component, non-linear tissue such as the aorta. We therefore propose a new approach to measure the stress-strain relationship locally in vivo noninvasively, and present a clinically relevant parameter describing the mechanical interaction between aortic wall constituents. The slope change of the circumferential stress-strain curve was hypothesized to be related to the contribution of elastin and collagen, and was defined as the transition strain (). A two-parallel spring model was employed and three Young’s moduli were accordingly evaluated, i.e., corresponding to the: elastic lamellae (E1), elastin-collagen fibers (E2) and collagen fibers (E3). Our study was performed on normal and Angiotensin II (AngII)-treated mouse abdominal aortas using the aortic pressure after catheterization and the local aortic wall diameters change from a cross-correlation technique on the radio frequency (RF) ultrasound signal at 30 MHz and frame rate of 8 kHz. Using our technique, the transition strain and three Young’s moduli in both normal and pathological aortas were mapped in 2D. The slope change of the circumferential stress-strain curve was first observed in vivo under physiologic conditions. The transition strain was found at a lower strain level in the AngII-treated case, i.e., 0.029 ± 0.006 for the normal and 0.012 ± 0.004 for the AngII-treated aortas. E1, E2 and E3 were equal to 69.7 ± 18.6, 214.5 ± 65.8 and 144.8 ± 55.2 kPa for the normal aortas, and 222.1 ± 114.8, 775.0 ± 586.4 and 552.9 ± 519.1 kPa for the AngII-treated aortas, respectively. This is because of the alteration of structures and content of the wall constituents, the degradation of elastic lamella and collagen formation due to AngII treatment. While such values illustrate the alteration of structure and content of the wall constituents related to AngII treatment, limitations regarding physical assumptions (isotropic, linear elastic) should be kept in mind. The transition strain, however, was shown to be a pressure independent parameter that can be clinically relevant and noninvasively measured using ultrasound-based motion estimation techniques. In conclusion, our novel methodology can assess the stress-strain relationship of the aortic wall locally in vivo and quantify important parameters for the detection and characterization of vascular disease.  相似文献

Introduction

Elastic modulus estimation may be an important clinical criterion, as it seems to affect such eye parameters as intraocular pressure, ocular pulsation, blood flow, effect of topical medications, and post-refractive surgery complications. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in elasticity in the ocular axial length, posterior wall thickness (posterior pole), and retina-choroid thickness under normal and aged-related macular degeneration (AMD) conditions in the human eye by directly estimating the elastic modulus with sequential and noninvasive ultrasound image processing.

Materials and Methods

In this study, 25 healthy subjects and 20 patients with non-neovascular AMD participated in the experiment. The deformation of the ocular axial length, posterior wall thickness and retina-choroid complex thickness was captured using high-resolution ultrasonography before and after loading. The B-mode (20 MHz) and A-mode (8 MHz) frames were obtained and processed with an echo tracking technique. The elastic modulus was estimated using changes in ocular axial length, posterior wall thickness and retina-choroid complex thickness and with applied stress measurements.

Results

There was a significant difference (p < 0.05) in the ocular axial length elastic modulus between the AMD and healthy subjects (AMD patients: 95.165 ± 26.431 kPa, vs. healthy subjects: 49.539 ± 25.867 kPa). Moreover, there was a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) in the posterior wall thickness elastic modulus between AMD patients and healthy subjects (AMD patients: 50.519 ± 12.295 kPa, vs. healthy subjects: 20.519 ± 11.827 kPa). However, no statistically significant difference (p-value > 0.05) was found in the retina-choroid complex elastic modulus between the two groups (AMD patients: 20.134 ± 3.898 kPa, vs. healthy subjects: 15.630 ± 4.250 kPa).

Conclusion

Although the results were obtained examining a relatively low number of patients, it would appear that noninvasive ultrasound estimation of the local elastic moduli of ocular axial length and posterior wall thickness is suited to aid in detection of the non-exudative AMD thus manifesting its potential as a screening tool in symptom-free individuals.  相似文献

We have measured the isotope shift between 41K and 39K in the 4s1/2 → 5p1/2 transition at 405 nm using saturation spectroscopy. Our measured isotope shift is 456.1 ± 0.8 MHz, implying a residual isotope shift (sum of specific mass shift and field shift) of −52.7 ± 0.8 MHz. We deduce a specific mass shift of −40 ± 5 MHz, which would imply that the 5p1/2 state has a considerably larger specific mass shift than the 4p1/2 state. We have in addition measured the 5p1/2 hyperfine splitting for 41K.  相似文献

The corrected Waterman-Truell model and the Elastodynamic Finite Integration Technique were used to analyze the ultrasonic wave dispersion in trabecular bones mimicking phantoms. A simple two-phase model of the trabecular bone is assumed; the trabeculae structure and the bone marrow. The phase velocity for frequencies within the range from 400 kHz to 800 kHz were computed for different scatterer arrays varying their dimensions and number. The theoretical and numerical results were compared to experimental published data, obtained from a mimicking phantom composed by a periodic array of nylon shreds (trabeculae array) immersed in a water tank. Our results showed an excellent consistency when compared to experimental data. The negative dispersions of −8.48 m/s/MHz and −9.16 m/s/MHz were computed by the multiple scattering method and the numerical approach, respectively, where the latter is closer to the experimental dispersion of −12.09 m/s/MHz. Similar result has been reported in the literature, where the dispersion predicted by the Generalized Self-Consistent Method [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 124 (2008) 4047] is −9.96 m/s/MHz.  相似文献

Low pressure measurements of broadening parameters of the 118.75 GHz fine structure line of oxygen molecule have been made by a BWO-based spectrometer with acoustic detector (RAD) at room temperature. Pressure broadening parameters were obtained for the buffer gases O2, N2, Ne, He, Ar, H2O, CO2, and CO and have the following values 2.23 ± 0.01, 2.245 ± 0.02, 1.375 ± 0.02, 1.62 ± 0.03, 2.005 ± 0.02, 2.52 ± 0.04, 2.66 ± 0.08, and 2.31 ± 0.05 MHz/Torr, respectively. Measured central frequency is 118 750.340 ± 0.007 MHz. The central frequencies and broadenings by O2 and N2 of fine structure lines 1+, 5, 7+, 11+, and 15 belonging to the 60-GHz band are also measured. Comparison of previous and recent data on electronic, rotational, and fine structure lines broadenings reveals their close values (within 10%) and dependencies on corresponding rotational quantum numbers for these different oxygen spectra stretching from millimeter through submillimeter up to the optical bands. Such similarity could be used for estimation of the broadenings of not measured yet oxygen lines.  相似文献

Purpose

To evaluate the semiquantitative DCE and quantitative DWI parameters in endometrial cancer, in order to assess the presence of neoplastic tissue and normal myometrium and to ascertain a potential relationship with tumor grade.

Methods and materials

A total of 57 patients with biopsy-proven endometrial adenocarcinoma who underwent MR imaging examination for staging purposes were retrospectively evaluated. Imaging protocol included multiplanar T1- and T2-weighted TSE, DCE T1-weighted (THRIVE; 0, 30, 90 and 120 seconds after intravenous injection of gadolinium) and DWIBS sequences (b values = 0 and 1000 mm2/s). Color perfusion and ADC maps were automatically generated on dedicated software. Relative enhancement (RE, %), maximum enhancement (ME, %), maximum relative enhancement (MRE, %), time to peak (TTP, s) and mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) were calculated by manually drawing a region of interest (ROI) both on the neoplastic tissue and the normal myometrium. Histopathology was used as reference standard.

Results

Histopathological analysis confirmed the presence of endometrial carcinoma in all patients. Neoplastic tissue demonstrated significantly lower (P < 0.001) values of RE (%) 63.92 ± 35.68; ME (%) 864.91 ± 429.54 and MRE (%) 75.97 ± 38.26 as compared to normal myometrium (RE (%) 151.43 ± 55.99; ME (%) 1800.73 ± 721.32; MRE (%) 158.28 ± 54.05). TTP was significantly higher (P < 0.05) in tumor lesion (385.51 ± 1630.27 vs 195.44 ± 78.69). Mean ADC value of neoplastic tissue (775.09 ± ?220.73 × 10− 3 mm2/s) was significantly lower (P < 0.05) than in myometrium (1602.37 ± 378.54 × 10− 3 mm2/s). The analysis of perfusion and diffusion parameters classified according to tumor grades, showed a statistically significant difference only for RE (P = 0.043) and ME (P = 0.007).

Conclusions

Perfusion parameters and mean ADC differ significantly between endometrial cancer and normal myometrium, potentially reflecting the different microscopical features of cellularity and vascularity; however a significant relationship with tumor grade was not found in our series.  相似文献

Ultrasound Nakagami parametric imaging is a useful tool for tissue characterization. Previous literature has suggested using a square with side lengths corresponding to 3 times the transducer pulse length as the minimum window for constructing the Nakagami image. This criterion does not produce sufficiently smooth images for the Nakagami image to characterize homogeneous tissues. To improve image smoothness, we proposed window-modulated compounding (WMC) Nakagami imaging based on summing and averaging the Nakagami images formed using sliding windows with varying window side lengths from 1 to N times the transducer pulse length in 1 pulse length step. Simulations (the number densities of scatterers: 2–16 scatterers/mm2) and experiments on fully developed speckle phantoms (the scatterer diameters: 20–106 μm) were conducted to suggest an appropriate number of frames N and to evaluate the image smoothness and resolution by analyzing the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the parameter distribution and the widths of the image autocorrelation function (ACF), respectively. In vivo ultrasound measurements on rat livers without and with cirrhosis were performed to validate the practical performance of the WMC Nakagami image in tissue characterization. The simulation results showed that using a range of N from 7 to 10 as the number of frames for image compounding reduces the estimation error to less than 5%. Based on this criterion, the Nakagami parameter obtained from the WMC Nakagami image increased from 0.45 to 0.95 after increasing the number densities of scatterers from 2 to 16 scatterers/mm2. The FWHM of the parameter distribution (bins = 40) was 13.5 ± 1.4 for the Nakagami image and 9.1 ± 1.43 for the WMC Nakagami image, respectively (p-value < .05). The widths of the ACF for the Nakagami and WMC Nakagami images were 454 ± 5.36 and 458 ± 4.33, respectively (p-value > .05). In the phantom experiments, we also found that the FWHM of the parameter distribution for the WMC Nakagami image was smaller than that of the conventional Nakagami image (p-value < .05), and there was no significant difference of the ACF width between the Nakagami and WMC Nakagami images (p-value > .05). In the animal experiments, the Nakagami parameters obtained from the WMC Nakagami image for normal and cirrhotic rat livers were 0.62 ± 0.08 and 0.92 ± 0.07, respectively (p-value < .05). The results demonstrated that the WMC technique significantly improved the image smoothness of Nakagami imaging without resolution degradation, giving Nakagami model-based imaging the ability to visualize scatterer properties with enhanced image quality.  相似文献

Fourier-transform far-infrared spectra of CH318OH in the 15-470 cm−1 region have been analyzed by means of the Ritz assignment program. The far-infrared data have been combined with the literature microwave and millimeter-wave measurements in a full global fitting of the first three torsional states (νt = 0, 1, and 2) of the CH318OH ground vibrational state. The fitted dataset includes 550 microwave and millimeter-wave lines and more than 17 000 Fourier-transform transitions covering the quantum number ranges J ? 30, K ? 15, and νt ? 2. With incorporation of 79 adjustable parameters, the global fit achieved convergence with an overall weighted standard deviation of 1.072, essentially to within the assigned measurement uncertainties of ±50 kHz for almost all of the microwave and millimeter-wave lines and ±6 MHz (0.0002 cm−1) to ±15 MHz (0.0005 cm−1) for the Fourier-transform far-infrared measurements. Based on the global fit results, a database has been compiled containing transition frequencies, quantum numbers, lower state energies and transition strengths. This database will provide support for present and future astronomical studies, such as the on-going Orion surveys in preparation for the launch of the Herschel Space Observatory, in identifying isotopic methanol contributions to interstellar spectra.  相似文献

The objective of the study was to acoustically characterize trisacryl polymeric microparticles (TMP), which are derived from biocompatible embolic agents. With significant acoustic properties, these polymeric particles could be potentially used as targeted ultrasound contrast agents, directed towards a specific site, with ligands conjugation on the polymeric network surface. In the in vitro study, a pulser/receiver (PRF of 1 kHz), associated to different transducers (5, 10 and 15 MHz), was used to measure the acoustic properties of the TMP inserted in a Couette flow device. Acoustic characterization according to TMP concentration (0.12-15.63 mg/ml), frequency (4.5-17 MHz, defined by each transducer bandwidth), ultrasound pressure (137-378 kPa) and exposure time (0-30 min) was conducted. Particle attenuation was also evaluated according to TMP concentration and emission frequency. Backscattering increased non linearly with concentration and maximum enhancement was of 16.4 dB ± 0.89 dB above 7.8 mg/ml. This parameter was found non-linear with increasing applied pressure and no harmonic oscillation could be noticed. Attenuation reached approximately 1.4 dB/cm at 15 MHz and for the 15.6 mg/ml suspension. The TMP have revealed in vitro ultrasound properties comparable to those observed with known contrast agents, studied in similar in vitro systems. However, such set-ups combined with a rather aqueous suspending medium, have some limitations and further investigations need now to be conducted to approach in vivo conditions in terms of flow and blood environment.  相似文献

Purpose

To assess the feasibility and to optimize imaging parameters of diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in human kidneys.

Methods

The kidneys of ten healthy volunteers were examined on a clinical 3 T MR scanner. For DKI, respiratory triggered EPI sequences were acquired in the coronal plane (3 b-values: 0, 300, 600 s/mm2, 30 diffusion directions). A goodness of fit analysis was performed and the influence of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) on the DKI results was evaluated. Region-of-interest (ROI) measurements were performed to determine apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean kurtosis (MK) of the cortex and the medulla of the kidneys. Intra-observer and inter-observer reproducibility using Bland-Altman plots as well as subjective image quality of DKI were examined and ADC, FA, and MK parameters were compared.

Results

The DKI model fitted better to the experimental data (r = 0.99) with p < 0.05 than the common mono-exponential ADC model (r = 0.96).Calculation of reliable kurtosis parameters in human kidneys requires a minimum SNR of 8.31 on b = 0 s/mm2 images.Corticomedullary differentiation was possible on FA and MK maps. ADC, FA and MK revealed significant differences in medulla (ADC = 2.82 × 10− 3 mm2/s ± 0.25, FA = 0.42 ± 0. 05, MK = 0.78 ± 0.07) and cortex (ADC = 3.60 × 10− 3 mm2/s ± 0.28, FA = 0.18 ± 0.04, MK = 0.94 ± 0.07) with p < 0.001.

Conclusion

Our initial results indicate the feasibility of DKI in the human kidney presuming an adequate SNR. Future studies in patients with kidney diseases are required to determine the value of DKI for functional kidney imaging.  相似文献

Background and purpose

The use of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) as a surrogate biomarker of response in preclinical studies is increasing. However, before a biomarker can be reliably employed to assess treatment response, the reproducibility of the technique must be established. There is a paucity of literature that quantifies the reproducibility of DW-MRI in preclinical studies; thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate DW-MRI reproducibility in a murine model of HER2 + breast cancer.

Materials and methods

Test–Retest DW-MRI scans separated by approximately six hours were acquired from eleven athymic female mice with HER2 + xenografts using a pulsed gradient spin echo diffusion-weighted sequence with three b values [150, 500, and 800 s/mm2]. Reproducibility was assessed for the mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) from tumor and muscle tissue regions.

Results

The threshold to reflect a change in tumor physiology in a cohort of mice is defined by the 95% confidence interval (CI), which was ± 0.0972 × 10- 3 mm2/s (± 11.8%) for mean tumor ADC. The repeatability coefficient defines this threshold for an individual mouse, which was ± 0.273 × 10- 3 mm2/s. The 95% CI and repeatability coefficient for mean ADC of muscle tissue were ± 0.0949 × 10- 3 mm2/s (± 8.30%) and ± 0.266 × 10- 3 mm2/s, respectively.

Conclusions

Mean ADC of tumors is reproducible and appropriate for detecting treatment-induced changes on both an individual and mouse cohort basis.  相似文献

The feasibility of using subharmonic aided pressure estimation (SHAPE) to noninvasively estimate interstitial fluid pressure (IFP) was studied. In vitro, radiofrequency signals, from 0.2 ml/l of Definity (Lantheus Medical Imaging, N Billerica, MA) were acquired within a water-tank with a Sonix RP ultrasound scanner (Analogic Ultrasound, Richmond, BC, Canada; fT/R = 6.7/3.35 MHz and fT/R = 10/5 MHz) and the subharmonic amplitudes of the signals were compared over 0–50 mmHg. In vivo, five swine with naturally occurring melanomas were studied. Subharmonic signals were acquired from tumours and surrounding tissue during infusion of Definity and compared to needle-based pressure measurements. Both in vitro and in vivo, an inverse linear relationship between hydrostatic pressure and subharmonic amplitude was observed with r2 = 0.63–0.95; p < 0.05, maximum amplitude drop 11.36 dB at 10 MHz and −8 dB, and r2 as high as 0.97; p < 0.02 (10 MHz and −4/−8 dB most promising), respectively, indicating that SHAPE may be useful in monitoring IFP.  相似文献

Acoustic emission (AE) waveform is generated by dislocation, microcracking and other irreversible changes in a concrete material. Based on the AE technique (AET), this paper focuses on strain rate effect on physical mechanisms of hydraulic concrete specimens during the entire fracture process of three point bending (TPB) flexural tests at quasi-static levels. More emphasis is placed on the influence of strain rate on AE hit rate and AE source location around peak stress. Under low strain rates, namely 0.77 × 10−7 s−1, 1 × 10−7 s−1 to 1 × 10−6 s−1 respectively, the results show that the tensile strength increases as the strain rate increases while the peak AE hit rate decreases. Meanwhile, the specimen under a relatively higher strain rate shows a relatively wider intrinsic process zone in a more diffuser manner, lots of distributed microcracks relatively decrease stress intensity, thus delay both microcracking localization and macrocrack propagation. These phenomena can be attributed to Stéfan effect. In addition, further tests, namely the combination of AE monitoring and strain measuring systems was designed to understand the correlation between AE event activity and microfracture (i.e., microcracking and microcracking localization). The relative variation trend of cumulative AE events accords well with that of the load-deformation curve.  相似文献

Purpose

The purpose of this study was to investigate the combined effect of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) on aortic stiffness and endothelial dysfunction by using an integrated MRI approach.

Materials and Methods

A total of 31 non-hypertensive DM2 patients and 31 hypertensive DM2 patients underwent 3.0-T MRI. Aortic distensibility (AD), pulse wave velocity (PWV) and brachial artery flow-mediated dilation (FMD) were assessed. Student's t-test, Mann–Whitney U test, chi-squared test, Pearson correlation analysis, and univariable and multiple linear regression analyses were used for statistical analyses.

Results

The hypertensive patients showed lower AD at multiple levels (ascending aorta [AA]: 2.07 ± 0.98 × 10− 3 mm Hg− 1 vs. 3.21 ± 1.70 × 10− 3 mm Hg− 1, p < 0.01; proximal thoracic descending aorta [PDA]: 2.58 ± 0.72 × 10− 3 mm Hg− 1 vs. 3.58 ± 1.47 × 10− 3 mm Hg− 1, p < 0.01; distal descending aorta [DDA]: 3.11 ± 1.84 × 10− 3 mm Hg− 1 vs. 4.27 ± 1.75 × 10− 3 mm Hg− 1, p < 0.01); faster PWV (7.46 ± 2.28 m/s vs. 5.82 ± 1.12 m/s, p < 0.05) and lower FMD (12.67% ± 6.49% vs. 20.66% ± 9.7%; p < 0.01). Systolic blood pressure was an independent predictor of PWV, AA-AD, DDA-AD and FMD. FMD was statistically significantly associated with PWV (r = − 0.37, p < 0.01) and AD (p < 0.01).

Conclusions

Hypertension has a contributive effect on aortic stiffness and endothelial dysfunction in DM2 patients.  相似文献

Object

To assess the feasibility of measuring diffusion and perfusion fraction in vertebral bone marrow using the intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) approach and to compare two fitting methods, i.e., the non-negative least squares (NNLS) algorithm and the more commonly used Levenberg–Marquardt (LM) non-linear least squares algorithm, for the analysis of IVIM data.

Materials and Methods

MRI experiments were performed on fifteen healthy volunteers, with a diffusion-weighted echo-planar imaging (EPI) sequence at five different b-values (0, 50, 100, 200, 600 s/mm2), in combination with an STIR module to suppress the lipid signal. Diffusion signal decays in the first lumbar vertebra (L1) were fitted to a bi-exponential function using the LM algorithm and further analyzed with the NNLS algorithm to calculate the values of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (D*) and perfusion fraction.

Results

The NNLS analysis revealed two diffusion components only in seven out of fifteen volunteers, with ADC = 0.60 ± 0.09 (10− 3 mm2/s), D* = 28 ± 9 (10− 3 mm2/s) and perfusion fraction = 14% ± 6%. The values obtained by the LM bi-exponential fit were: ADC = 0.45 ± 0.27 (10− 3 mm2/s), D* = 63 ± 145 (10− 3 mm2/s) and perfusion fraction = 27% ± 17%. Furthermore, the LM algorithm yielded values of perfusion fraction in cases where the decay was not bi-exponential, as assessed by NNLS analysis.

Conclusion

The IVIM approach allows for measuring diffusion and perfusion fraction in vertebral bone marrow; its reliability can be improved by using the NNLS, which identifies the diffusion decays that display a bi-exponential behavior.  相似文献

The dependence of pressure broadening upon hyperfine component in the P(10) and P(70) lines of the (17,1) band of the I2 X1Σ(0g+)→B3Π(0u+) has been studied using laser saturation spectroscopy. By limiting absorption to the zero velocity group, Doppler broadening is removed, lineshapes with widths (FWHM) <9 MHz are detectable, and collision-induced broadening is measured at pressures of 0.2-1.2 Torr. The rates for broadening by argon are 8.3±0.3 and 10.7±0.4 MHz/Torr for the P(70) and P(10) lines, respectively. No significant variation in broadening rates is observed for the 15 hyperfine components of these even rotational lines. The effects of velocity cross-relaxation introduce a broad baseline into the spectra, which is strongly dependent on rotational state, pressure, and laser modulation frequency. The observed broadening rates correlate well with prior measurements and the polarizability of the collision partner.  相似文献

The rectifying junction characteristics of the organic compound pyronine-B (PYR-B) film on a p-type Si substrate have been studied. The PYR-B has been evaporated onto the top of p-Si surface. The barrier height and ideality factor values of 0.67 ± 0.02 eV and 2.02 ± 0.03 for this structure have been obtained from the forward bias current-voltage (I-V) characteristics. The energy distribution of the interface states and their relaxation time have been determined from the forward bias capacitance-frequency and conductance-frequency characteristics in the energy range of ((0.42 ± 0.02) − Ev)-((0.66 ± 0.02) − Ev) eV. The interface state density values ranges from (4.21 ± 0.14) × 1013 to (3.82 ± 0.24) × 1013 cm−2 eV−1. Furthermore, the relaxation time ranges from (1.65 ± 0.23) × 10−5 to (8.12 ± 0.21) × 10−4 s and shows an exponential rise with bias from the top of the valance band towards the midgap.  相似文献

Graft polymerization of acrylic acid (AA) onto poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) film by UV irradiation was carried out to develop surfaces for N-methylene phosphonic chitosan (NMPC) immobilization. The properties of modified films were discussed by colorimetric method, attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), contact angles, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and osteoblast incubation. The results showed that AA solution concentration and irradiation time had effect on the graft carboxyl densities. Comparing the ATR-FTIR images, two new peaks at 1561 cm−1 and 1632 cm−1 proved that NMPC was immobilized on the film surface successfully. The water contact-angles were decreased from 90 ± 5° to 37 ± 5° after modification. The AFM images indicated that the surface of the combined film was rougher than that of untreated film. The grafted film provided an excellent substrate for the growth of osteoblast.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) of the liver is a novel noninvasive clinical diagnostic tool to stage fibrosis based on measured stiffness. The purpose of this study is to design, evaluate and validate a rapid MRE acquisition technique for noninvasively quantitating liver stiffness which reduces by half the scan time, thereby decreasing image registration errors between four MRE phase offsets. In vivo liver MRE was performed on 16 healthy volunteers and 14 patients with biopsy-proven liver fibrosis using the standard clinical gradient recalled echo (GRE) MRE sequence (MREs) and a developed rapid GRE MRE sequence (MREr) to obtain the mean stiffness in an axial slice. The mean stiffness values obtained from the entire group using MREs and MREr were 2.72 ± 0.85 kPa and 2.7 ± 0.85 kPa, respectively, representing an insignificant difference. A linear correlation of R2 = 0.99 was determined between stiffness values obtained using MREs and MREr. Therefore, we can conclude that MREr can replace MREs, which reduces the scan time to half of that of the current standard acquisition (MREs), which will facilitate MRE imaging in patients with inability to hold their breath for long periods.  相似文献
