Quantum-mechanical calculations of the intensity distribution in the resonant Raman scattering spectra of aqueous solutions of tyrosine excited by laser radiation with wavelengths of 244, 229, 218, 200, and 193 nm, as well as in the nonresonant Raman scattering spectrum excited at a wavelength of 488 nm, are performed. Satisfactory agreement is achieved between the calculation results and the experimental data. It is shown that the changes in the intensity distribution observed in the spectra with a change in the excitation wavelength from 244 to 193 nm correlate with the determined changes in the contribution made by excited electronic states into the scattering tensor components. It is noted that it is necessary to take into account the Herzberg–Teller effect and that the number of excited electronic states taken into account considerably affects the calculated relative intensities of lines. The possibility of existence of several tyrosine conformers in aqueous solution at room temperature is shown.  相似文献

The absorption coefficient (220–1200 nm) and refractive index (800–450 nm) spectra of a strongly anisotropic guanidinium aluminum-sulfate hexahydrate (GASH) crystals are measured. It is shown that the optical anisotropy of GASH crystals in the visible spectral region is significant, while the crystal in the polar direction becomes isotropic. The contribution of IR oscillators to the electronic polarizability of GASH is sharply anisotropic. It is found that the constants of the Sellmeier dispersion formula qualitatively agree with the vacuum ultraviolet spectra calculated from first principles. The experimental refractive indices coincide with the calculated values with an accuracy of 0.10 (n e ) and 0.1% (n o ). It is proposed to use the GASH crystal for development of optical phase difference compensators.  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical UV, NMR and vibrational spectra of 2-chloro-6-methylaniline (2-Cl-6-MA, C7H8NCl) were studied. The ultraviolet absorption spectra of compound that dissolved in ethanol were examined in the range of 200–400 nm. The 1H, 13C and DEPT NMR spectra of the compound were recorded. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-Cl-6-MA in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated using density functional theory (DFT) employing B3LYP exchange correlation and the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies were found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. Isotropic chemical shifts were calculated using the gauge-invariant atomic orbital (GIAO) method. Comparison of the calculated NMR chemical shifts and absorption wavelengths with the experimental values revealed that DFT method produces good results.  相似文献

The optical absorption spectra, microstructure and electronic spin resonance parameters (electronic spin resonance (ESR) g factor) for Ni2+ ions at octahedral centers of nickel ferrite nanoparticles are calculated from the two-spin–orbit-parameter model. The effect of spin–orbital coupling of the central metal 3d8 ions and ligand oxygen ions has been taken into account in the full energy matrix and ESR g formula. The calculated results are in good agreement with the observed values. In addition, the microstructures of Ni2+ ions at octahedral centers in NiFe2O4 are reasonably determined from the calculations.  相似文献

The electronic structures, dielectric functions and absorption coefficient of both perfect CdWO4 crystal (CWO) and the CWO crystal containing oxygen vacancy (CWO: V O) have been studied using the CASTEP code with the lattice structure optimized. The calculated total density of states (TDOS) of CWO: V O indicates that the oxygen vacancy would introduce a new electronic state within the band gap compared with that of perfect CWO. The dielectric functions are calculated since the imaginary part of the dielectric function can reduce the optical absorption of a certain crystal, and then the absorption coefficient is calculated. The calculated absorption spectra show that CWO: V O exhibits two absorption bands in the ultraviolet and visible region, peaking at about 3.0 eV (413 nm) and 3.5 eV (354 nm), respectively, which are in agreement with the experimental results showing that the yellow CWO has two optical absorption bands in this region peaking at around 350 nm and 400 nm respectively. It can be concluded that oxygen vacancy causes these two absorption bands. The calculations also indicate that the optical properties of CWO exhibit anisotropy, and can be explained by the anisotropy of the crystal lattice.  相似文献

The electronic structures, dielectric functions and absorption spectra for the CaMoO4 (CMO) crystal with and without oxygen vacancy VO2+ have been calculated using the CASTEP code with the lattice structure optimized. The calculated results indicate that the optical properties of the CMO crystal show anisotropy and its optical symmetry coincides with the lattice structure geometry of the CMO crystal. The calculated absorption spectra indicate that the perfect CMO crystal does not display absorption band in the visible and near-ultraviolet range. However, in this range, the absorption spectra of the CMO crystal containing VO2+ exhibit one peak at about 1.84 eV (673 nm). It predicates that the 680 nm absorption band is related to the existence of VO2+ in the CMO crystal.  相似文献

The structure and spectral properties of two organic ruthenium complexes used as sensitizing dyes for solar batteries (well-known N3 dye and its selenophene-conjugated analogue C105 ([Ru(bpy)(bpysef)(COOH)2(NCS)2] (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, bpysef = 4,4′-bis(5-hexylselenophene-2-yl)2,2′-bipyridine)) are comparatively studied within the density functional method. It is shown that the conjugation of the bipyridine ligand with selenophene affects the electronic structure of the C105 dye. A multilevel model for interpreting the electronic spectra of dyes is proposed based on the analysis of the shapes of molecular orbitals. The nature of the absorption bands of these ruthenium complexes in the region of 300–800 nm is explained. It is found that, in the polar acetonitrile solvent, these dyes are negatively solvatochromic, which agrees with the current classical views on the effect of the solvent on the shape of electronic absorption spectra of related compounds.  相似文献

The photophysical properties such as singlet absorption, molar absorptivity, fluorescence spectra, fluorescence quantum yield (?f) and transition dipole moment (μ12) of 3-(4-dimethylamino-phenyl)-1-{6-[3-(4-dimethylamino-phenyl)-acryloyl]-pyridin-2-yl}-propanone (DMAPAPP) have been studied in different media. DMAPAPP exhibits a large red-shift in both absorption and emission spectra as the solvent polarity increases, indicating a large change in dipole moment of molecule upon excitation. The fluorescence quantum yield depends on the nature of the solvent. The absorption and emission spectra of DMAPAPP in dioxane–water mixture are also studied. The effect of different type of surfactants to determine their critical micellar concentration (CMC) and the microemulsion effect on the electronic absorption and emission spectra of DMAPAPP are recorded. The effect of acidity on the electronic absorption and emission spectra of DMAPAPP is studied to determine the pKa and pKa? values.  相似文献

The enhancement of the nonlinear properties of materials is an interesting topic since it has many applications in optical devices and medicines. The Z-scan technique was used to study the values of the two-photon absorption (β), second-order molecular hyperpolarizability (γR), third-order susceptibility (χR), and nonlinear refractive index (n2) of Alizarin Red S in different media using a continuous-wave diode-pump laser radiation at 532 nm. For Alizarin Red S in a droplet, the β, n2, χR, and γR were estimated at the order of 10?7 cm2/W and 10?12 cm/W, 10?3 m3 W?1 s?1 and 10?24 m6 W?1 s?1, respectively. The results indicated that the values of β and n2 reduced, whereas the values of χR and γR were enhanced when the solvent was changed from droplet to water, DMF, and dimethyl sulfoxide due to the change in the solvent’s dielectric constant (ε). Moreover, the values of β were enhanced by an increase in the concentration of the surfactant in the aqueous solution. The absorption spectra of Alizarin Red S in the aqueous solution was observed at 428 nm, and a few red shifts in the absorption spectra were observed with a reduction in the dielectric constant of the medium. The same effect was observed in the absorption spectra of Alizarin Red S in the droplet when the bulk dielectric constant reduced. The dielectric constant can affect the fluorescence spectra of Alizarin Red S when the solution is changed from water to dimethyl sulfoxide. The dipole moments of Alizarin Red S in the different media were studied using the quantum perturbation theory.  相似文献

Strained potential profiles and electronic subband energies of InAs/GaAs coupled double quantum dots (DQDs) were calculated by using a three-dimensional finite-difference method (FDM) taking into account shape-based strain and nonparabolic effects. The interband transition energies from the ground electronic subband to the ground heavy-hole band (E1-HH1) in the InAs/GaAs DQDs, as determined from the FDM calculations taking into account strain and nonparabolic effects, were in reasonable agreement with the experimental peaks corresponding to the (E1-HH1) interband transition energies at several temperatures, as determined from the temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectra.  相似文献

The spectral properties such as singlet absorption, molar absorptivity, emission spectra, fluorescence quantum yield and excited state lifetime of 3-(4′-dimethylaminophenyl)-1-(2-furanyl)prop-2-en-1-one (DMAFP) have been determined in different solvents. DMAFP dye exhibits a large red shift in both electronic absorption and emission spectra as the solvent polarity increases, indicating a large change in the dipole moment of molecules upon excitation. A crystalline solid of DMAFP gives an excimer like emission at 566 nm due to the excitation of molecular aggregates. This is expected from the idealized crystal structure of the dye that belongs to the B-type class of Steven's classification. The ground and excited state protonation constants of DMAFP are calculated and amounted to 1.71 and 8.3, respectively. DMAFP acts as a good laser dye upon pumping with nitrogen laser (λex=337.1 nm) in chloroform, methylene chloride and dioxane and gives laser emission in the range 460–590 nm. The laser parameters such as the tuning range, gain coefficient (α), emission cross section (σe) and half-life energy (E1/2) are calculated. The photoreactivity and net photochemical quantum yield of DMAFP in chloromethane solvents are also studied.  相似文献

Abstract

Steady‐state absorption, fluorescence excitation, and emission spectra of 6‐methoxy quinoline (6‐MQ) were measured at room temperature in cyclohexane, dioxane, ethanol, acetonitrile, water, and water–dioxane solvents. Absorption spectra of cyclohexane, n‐hexane, and isopentane solutions show resolved vibronic structure at room temperature. However, the excitation spectrum of cyclohexane solution is structureless and is found to be emission wavelength dependent, indicating the formation of at least two distinct species in the ground state. Similar behavior was observed in dioxane and water–dioxane solutions. For all other solutions, the fluorescence excitation spectrum of 6‐MQ was found to be the same for different emissions. Emission of 6‐MQ in all solvents consisted of two bands with their maxima around 355 nm (I) and 430 nm (II), the actual positions and the relative intensities being dependent on the solvent used. The bands I and II were respectively attributed to normal and protonated/H‐bonded species of either 1La or 1Lb states or mixed (1La/1Lb) state of ππ* character. Fluorescence decay of this dye in all solvents monitored over each emission maximum showed biexponential behavior, and the analysis yielded two different lifetime components for each emission band. The short and long fluorescence decay components were respectively in the range of 0.30–3.00 ns and 18–20 ns. The observed emission characteristics coupled with the nature of the fluorescence polarization spectra and two different decay components for each emission suggest the existence of two different conformers having two different excited electronic states.  相似文献

We have measured the optical absorption spectra of 5,12-tetracenequinone (5,12-naphthacenequinone) in polar protic (methanol) and nonpolar (n-hexane) solvents. It has been shown that shifts of some bands in the polar solvent compared to the nonpolar one are caused by the formation of high hydrogen bonds between methanol molecules and the molecules under study. The occurrence of hydrogen bonds leads to changes in the energy gaps between occupied and unoccupied molecular orbitals of 5,12-tetracenequinone and, as a consequence, to corresponding changes in energies of electronic transitions. Based on analysis of the absorption spectra in different solvents in combination with the data of calculations of electronic spectra and taking into account changes in the orbital pattern under the action of the solvent, we have determined exact electronic configurations of electronically excited singlet states of 5,12-tetracenequinone.  相似文献

The optical properties of several azobenzene derivatives were modulated by varying the dipole moments and conjugation lengths of the D‐π‐A systems. The relationship between the structure and absorption spectrum and polarizability was studied in the gas phase, THF and MeOH solutions, respectively, by using the density functional theory. The calculated absorption spectra and second‐order polarizabilities are in good agreement with the available experimental observations. In comparison with the D‐π‐A monomer, the H‐shaped D‐π‐A dimer almost doubles the dipole moments and hence increases the second‐order polarizabilities, without a significant shift in the maximum absorption bands. The addition of another azobenzol group between electron‐donating and ‐accepting groups increases the second‐order polarizabilities by 4–6 times, but leads to an evident red‐shift of about 65–80 nm in spectra. The relative second‐order polarizability of the halogen‐substituted derivatives is in the sequence of ? CF3 > ? F > ? Cl > ? Br, without obvious substituent effects on the optical transparency. The D‐π‐A chromophores with the strong electron‐donating (amino) and ‐accepting (acetyl) substituent present the larger second‐order polarizabilities, at the cost of about 20 nm red‐shift of the maximum absorption lengths relative to the halogen‐substituted species. It is also demonstrated that both the linear and nonlinear optical properties augment with the increase in solvent polarity, accompanied by a red‐shift in the wavelengths of maximum absorption by about 18 and 23 nm, respectively, in THF and MeOH solutions. The changes in optical properties upon the structural modifications are further rationalized by the electronic structures of various H‐shaped dimers. The molecular structure and conformational properties of ethyl trifluoroacetate, CF3CO2CH2CH3, were determined in the gas phase by electron diffraction, and vibrational spectroscopy (IR and Raman). The experimental investigations were supplemented by ab initio (MP2) and DFT quantum chemical calculations at different levels of theory. Experimental and theoretical methods result in two structures with Cs (anti–anti) and C1 (anti–gauche) symmetries, the former being slightly more stable than the latter. The electron‐diffraction data are best fitted with a mixture of 56% anti–gauche and 44% anti–anti conformers. The conformational preference was also studied using the total energy scheme, and the natural bond orbital scheme. Also, the infrared spectra of CF3CO2CH2CH3 are reported for the gas, liquid and solid states, as is the Raman spectrum of the liquid. The comparison of experimental averaged IR spectra of Cs and C1 conformers provides evidence for the predicted conformations in the IR spectra. Harmonic vibrational wavenumbers and scaled force fields have been calculated for both conformers. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) measurements on the CdTe/ZnTe strained single quantum wells grown by using the molecular beam epitaxy technique showed that the sharp excitonic peaks corresponding to the transition from the first electronic subband to the first heavy-hole (E1–HH1) were shifted to lower energy with increasing well width. The (E1–HH1) interband transitions were calculated by using an envelope function approximation taking into account the strain effects, and the values were in reasonable agreement with those obtained from the (E1–HH1) excitonic transitions of the PL spectra. The activation energies of the confined electrons in the CdTe quantum well were obtained from the temperature-dependent PL spectra, and their values increased with increasing CdTe well width due to the quantum confinement effect. The present results can help to improve the understanding of the activation energies dependent on the CdTe well width in CdTe/ZnTe single quantum wells.  相似文献

Quantitative vacuum ultraviolet absorption spectra for HCN, C2N2, and CH3CN have been obtained over the wavelength range 60 nm ? λ ? 160 nm. Where comparison is possible, our measurements of the absorption coefficients for HCN and C2N2 are consistent with previous studies. Because of the superior resolution of this work (0.05 nm), vibrational assignments in the valence and Rydberg transitions of HCN have been extended while higher members of the Rydberg series in CH3CN have been identified.  相似文献

We report the electronic structure of monoclinic CuO as obtained from first principles calculations utilizing density functional theory plus effective Coulomb interaction (DFT + U) method. In contrast to standard DFT calculations taking into account electronic correlations in DFT + U gave antiferromagnetic insulator with energy gap and magnetic moment values in good agreement with experimental data. The electronic states around the Fermi level are formed by partially filled Cu 3d x²?y² orbitals with significant admixture of O 2p states. Theoretical spectra are calculated using DFT + U electronic structure method and their comparison with experimental photoemission and optical spectra show very good agreement.  相似文献
