By virtue of the method of multiple scales,we study a chain of parametrically driven nonlinear oscillators with a mass impurity.An equation is presented to describe the nonlinear wave of small amplitude in the chain.In our derivation,the equation is applicable to any eigenmode of coupled pendulum.Our result shows that a nonpropagation soliton emerges as the lowest or highest eigenmode of coupled pendulum is excited,and the impurity tends to pin the nonpropagation soliton excitation.  相似文献

The temporal and spatial dynamics of one weak probe laser pulse, propagating through a A-type atomic medium with two-folded levels under the resonant excitation of one microwave driving field and one strong control field, is investigated in this paper. By numerically solving coupled Bloch-Maxwell equations, it is found that, in the absence of the microwave driving field, the atomic medium is transparent to the probe pulse at line center, which propagates over sufficiently long distances. By contrast, when the microwave driving field is applied, the probe pulse at line center can be rapidly absorbed on propagation. This substantial reduction of probe transmittance caused by the microwave driving field may lead to potential applications in designing a new kind of optical switching.  相似文献

An improved apparatus is developed from Ke-pendulum. This new apparatus, resonant absorption mechanical spectrometer (RAMS), can measure the internal friction of solids under a forced vibration mode and the measuring frequency can change quasi-continually from a frequency that is much lower than the resonant frequency of the pendulum system, fτ, to the one that is much higher than fτ. The internal friction measurement is able to cover the frequency range from 10^-3 Hz to kHz. The measurement method and the calculation formula of the internal friction measured by a RAMS in the full frequency range are derived. A series of resonant absorption peaks are observed in copper, alumiaium, zinc, iron samples by the RAMS. The resonant absorption characteristics of the copper sample are studied in details. The experimental results indicate that the position (frequency) of the resonant absorption peaks are independent of the resonant frequency of the pendulum system. The reality of resonant absorption mechanical spectra is discussed and an inference based on the experimental results is presented such that the RAMS is able to characterize some feature of solid materials.  相似文献

The static and dynamic properties of a system of end-grafted flexible ring polymer chains grafted to a flat substrate and exposed to a good solvent are studied by using a molecular dynamics method. The monomers are described by a coarse-grained bead-spring model. Varying the grafting density ρ and the degree of polymerization or chain length N, we obtain the density profiles of monomers, study the structural properties of the chain (radius of gyration, bond orientational parameters, etc.), and also present the dynamic characteristics such as chain energy and bond force. Compared with a linear polymer brush, the ring polymer brush exhibits different static and dynamic properties for moderate or short chain length, while it behaves like linear polymer brush in the regime of long chain length.  相似文献

We report the oscillating propagation of kink in a nondissipative Frenkel-Kontorova (FK) chain driven by external DC force, which is different from the usual propagation of localized modes with equal speed. When the kink moves in the opposite direction of the external DC force, the kink will be accelerated and the potential of the FK chain in the external force field is transformed to be the kinetic energy of the kink. If the kink reaches the boundary of the FK chain, the kink will be bounced back and moves in the opposite direction, then the kink will be decelerated gradually and the kinetic energy of the kink & transformed to be the potential of the FK chain in the external force field. If the speed of the kink reaches zero, the kink will move in the opposite direction again driven by the external DC force, and a new oscillating cycle begins. Simulation result demonstrates exactly the transformation between the kinetic energy of the kink and the potential of the FK chain in the external force field. The interesting energy exchange is induced by the special topology of kinks, and other localized modes, such as breathers and envelope solitons, have no the interesting phenomenon.  相似文献

The dynamic behaviours of the translocations of closed circular polymers and closed knotted polymers through a nanopore, under the driving of an applied field, are studied by three-dimensional Langevin dynamics simulations. The power-law scaling of the translocation time τ with the chain length N and the distribution of translocation time are investigated separately. For closed circular polymers, a crossover scaling of translocation time with chain length is found to be τ~ N α , with the exponent α varying from α = 0.71 for relatively short chains to α = 1.29 for longer chains under driving force F = 5. The scaling behaviour for longer chains is in good agreement with experimental results, in which the exponent α = 1.27 for the translocation of double-strand DNA. The distribution of translocation time D(τ) is close to a Gaussian function for duration time τ < τ p and follows a falling exponential function for duration time τ > τ p . For closed knotted polymers, the scaling exponent α is 1.27 for small field force (F = 5) and 1.38 for large field force (F = 10). The distribution of translocation time D(τ) remarkably features two peaks appearing in the case of large driving force. The interesting result of multiple peaks can conduce to the understanding of the influence of the number of strands of polymers in the pore at the same time on translocation dynamic process and scaling property.  相似文献

Although the nonlinear interactions between a single short gravity wave and a long wave can be solved analytically, the solution is less tractable in more general cases involving multiple short waves. In this work we present a numerical method of studying nonlinear interactions between a long wave and multiple short harmonic waves in infinitely deep water. Specifically, this method is applied to the calculation of the temporal and spatial evolutions of the surface elevations in which a given long wave interacts with several short harmonic waves. Another important application of our method is to quantitatively analyse the nonlinear interactions between an arbitrary short wave train and another short wave train. From simulation results, we obtain that the mechanism for the nonlinear interactions between one short wave train and another short wave train (expressed as wave train 2) leads to the energy focusing of the other short wave train (expressed as wave train 3). This mechanism occurs on wave components with a narrow frequency bandwidth, whose frequencies are near that of wave train 3.  相似文献

This paper shows that the standing, backward- and forward-accelerated large amplitude relativistic electromagnetic solitons induced by intense laser pulse in long underdense collisionless homogeneous plasmas can be observed by particle simulations. In addition to the inhomogeneity of the plasma density, the acceleration of the solitons also depends upon not only the laser amplitude but also the plasma length. The electromagnetic frequency of the solitons is between about half and one of the unperturbed electron plasma frequency. The electrostatic field inside the soliton has a one-cycle structure in space, while the transverse electric and magnetic fields have half-cycle and one-cycle structure respectively. Analytical estimates for the existence of the solitons and their electromagnetic frequencies qualitatively coincide with our simulation results.  相似文献

With the use of variational method to solve the effective mass equation, we have studied the electronic and shallow impurity states in semiconductor heterostructures under an applied electric field. The electron energy levels are calculated exactly and the impurity binding energies are calculated with the variational approach. It is found that the behaviors of electronic and shallow impurity states in heterostructures under an applied electric field are analogous to that of quantum wells. Our results show that with the increasing strength of electric field, the electron confinement energies increase, and the impurity binding energy increases also when the impurity is on the surface, while the impurity binding energy increases at first, to a peak value, then decreases to a value which is related to the impurity position when the impurity is away from the surface. In the absence of electric field, the result tends to the Levine‘s ground state energy (-1/4 effective Rydberg) when the impurity is on the surface, and the ground impurity binding energy tends to that in the bulk when the impurity is far away from the surface. The dependence of the impurity binding energy on the impurity position for different electric field is also discussed.  相似文献

Using the method developed by Gurvitz [1996 Phys. Rev. B 53 15932], we obtained the Bloch-type rate equations describing the entire system of a periodically driving qubit monitored by a quantum point contact detector. The results demonstrate that the isolated qubit can be kept in its initial state with a large driving frequency due to more difficult electron tunneling in qubit, and this initial state can always be measured at a small measurement-induced decoherence rate during a short time.  相似文献

A parallel array of coupled short Josephson junctions under boundary ac driving is theoretically investigated. The driving response is monitored via numerical simulations on the associated Frenkel-Kontorova model as an oscillating output current at the other boundary junction. The theoretical analysis is conducted assuming the phase locking of boundary driving with exact stationary solution of sine-Gordon equation that can be represented by a kink (fluxon) motion back and forth in the restricted geometry of the array. As a consequence the results suggest the conception of a device which could switch to the conducting regime not according to intensity range but rather to given (quantized) frequency range. Moreover our findings indicate also a frequency converting scenario by choosing appropriately the system length and injected fluxon number.  相似文献

In the paper, the rational breather soliton and kink solitary wave solution of the (2+1)-dimensional PBLMP equation are obtained by adopting Hirota bilinear method and selecting different test functions. Furthermore, it has been found that the fusion and degeneration of the kink solitary wave occur when interaction between the rational breather soliton and the kink solitary wave happens. These phenomena are very helpful in researching soliton dynamical complexity in the higher dimensional systems.  相似文献

We report a kind of kink-like breathers in one-dimensional Bose–Einstein condensates (BECs) with helicoidal spin–orbit coupling (SOC), on whose two sides the background densities manifest obvious difference (called kink amplitude). The kink amplitude and shape of breather can be adjusted by the strength and period of helicoidal SOC, and its atomic number in two components exchanges periodically with time. The SOC has similar influence on the kink amplitude and the exchanged atomic number, especially when the background wave number is fixed. It indicates that the oscillating intensity of breather can be controlled by adjusting initial kink amplitude. Our work showcases the great potential of realizing novel types of breathers through SOC, and deepens our understanding on the formation mechanisms of breathers in BECs.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtained the exact breather-type kink soliton and breather-type periodic soliton solutions for the (3 + 1)-dimensional B-type Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (BKP) equation using the extended homoclinic test technique. Some new nonlinear phenomena, such as kink and periodic degeneracies, are investigated. Using the homoclinic breather limit method, some new rational breather solutions are found as well. Meanwhile, we also obtained the rational potential solution which is found to be just a rogue wave. These results enrich the variety of the dynamics of higher-dimensional nonlinear wave field.  相似文献

We study the collisions of moving breathers with the same frequency, traveling with opposite directions within a Klein-Gordon chain of oscillators. Two types of collisions have been analyzed: symmetric and non-symmetric, head-on collisions. For low enough frequency the outcome is strongly dependent of the dynamical states of the two colliding breathers just before the collision. For symmetric collisions, several results can be observed: breather generation, with the formation of a trapped breather and two new moving breathers; breather reflection; generation of two new moving breathers; and breather fusion bringing about a trapped breather. For non-symmetric collisions some possible results are: breather generation, with the formation of three new moving breathers; breather fusion, originating a new moving breather; breather trapping with breather reflection; generation of two new moving breathers; and two new moving breathers traveling as a bound state. Breather annihilation has never been observed.  相似文献

Using a Monte Carlo simulation, the growth and roughness characteristics of polymer surfaces are studied in 2+1 dimensions. Kink-jump and reptation dynamics are used to move polymer chains under a driving field where they deposit onto an impenetrable attractive wall. Effects of field (E), chain length (L(c)), and the substrate size (L) on the growing surfaces are studied. In low field, the interface width (W) shows a crossover from one power-law growth in time (W approximately t(beta(1))) to another (W approximately t(beta(2))), before reaching its asymptotic value (W(s)), with beta(1)( approximately 0.5+/-0.1)相似文献

The linear and nonlinear dynamics of elastically deformed graphene have been studied. The region of the stability of a planar graphene sheet has been represented in the space of the two-dimensional strain (? xx , ? yy ) with the x and y axes oriented in the zigzag and armchair directions, respectively. It has been shown that the gap in the phonon spectrum appears in graphene under uniaxial deformation in the zigzag or armchair direction, while the gap is not formed under a hydrostatic load. It has been found that graphene deformed uniaxially in the zigzag direction supports the existence of spatially localized nonlinear modes in the form of discrete breathers, the frequency of which decreases with an increase in the amplitude. This indicates soft nonlinearity in the system. It is unusual that discrete breather has frequency within the phonon spectrum of graphene. This is explained by the fact that the oscillation of the discrete breather is polarized in the plane of the graphene sheet, while the phonon spectral band where the discrete breather frequency is located contains phonons oscillating out of plane. The stability of the discrete breather with respect to the small out-of-plane perturbation of the graphene sheet has been demonstrated.  相似文献

利用离散变分方法和DMol方法,研究了体心立方Fe中1/2[111](110)刃型位错上扭折及掺杂(N,O)体系的电子结构.能量(杂质偏聚能及格位能)计算结果表明,杂质元素N,O进入扭折芯区的偏聚趋势,这与位错扭折引起的晶格畸变有关.同时,在杂质元素周围有一些电荷聚集,导致扭折上电荷的不均匀分布,杂质原子得到电子,其周围Fe原子失去电子.由于N原子的2p轨道与近邻Fe原子的3d4s4p轨道之间杂化,使N原子与近邻Fe原子间有较强的相互作用,不利于扭折的迁移,使位错运动受阻,有利于材料强度的提高;而O与最近邻Fe原子之间的相互作用较弱.杂质-扭折复合体的局域效应明显影响体系的电子结构、能量及性能. 关键词: 电子结构 刃型位错 扭折 杂质元素  相似文献

Discrete breathers are generic solutions for the dynamics of nonlinearly coupled oscillators. We show that discrete breathers can be observed in low-dimensional and high-dimensional lattices by exploring the sinusoidally coupled pendulum. Loss of stability of the breather solution is studied. We also find the existence of discrete breather in lattices with parameter mismatches. Breather phase synchronization is exhibited for the coupled chaotic oscillators.  相似文献
