The theory of light scattering in plasmas containing a magnetic field yields the special case of modulated scattering spectra. The modulation frequency is governed by the field in the plasma and is equal to the electron cyclotron frequency. In this investigation magnetic fields in a plasma were determined by a laser scattering experiment. The experimental data were: electron densityn e=1016cm?3, electron temperatureT e=3.2 eV, scattering angle θ=90 °, scattering parameter α=0.6, and a maximum field in the plasma of 125 kG. The spectrum measured at the maximum magnetic field was modulated with 3.6 × 1011 Hz. In scattering experiments with a field reduced by about 20% the observed modulation frequency was 2.8 × 1011 Hz. A thermal spectrum with a smooth profile was found when no field was present in the plasma. Applying the theory of cyclotron modulated spectra one obtains from the scattering experiment magnetic fields of 128, 100, and 0 kG. Within the experimental accuracy these values agree well with the fields determined by means of magnetic probes. Other possible interpretations of the measured deviations from thermal spectra (modulation with the plasma frequency or additional cold electron components in the plasma) are discussed, but they afford no explanation. This experiment has domonstrated that magnetic fields in plasmas can be measured locally and almost without disturbance by means of light scattering.  相似文献

我们最近证明,利用红外和深紫外双色激光场,SF6分子的结构信息可以通过其电离谱上的相干条纹获得[arXiv,1912.08499(2019)].在本文中,我们利用该方法考察了两种不同几何结构的分子离子H32+ 在激光场中的直接阈上电离(ATI)过程.通过与单色激光场中电离谱的比较发现,双色激光场的电离谱可以分辨分子的不同几何结构.由相干条件导出的公式可以很好地解释直接ATI动能谱和动量谱中的干涉条纹.此外,还发现通过改变分子核间距或改变激光强度可以改变电离谱的形状.由此可以推断,双色激光场诱导的ATI谱具有鉴别分子不同构型的能力,对复杂分子的几何结构成像具有一定的参考意义.  相似文献

本文提出一种统一的阈上电离理论。根据该理论,可以定量描述较真实的原子阈上电离过程并能清楚地阐明实验观测的阈上电离现象。该现象可理解为前后相继的两个过程:(1)先从无场的初态吸收N个光子而到场缀末态的量子跃迁过程。(2)欲定量描述实验测量,还需考虑光电子逃离光场时与光场相互作用的“后作用效应”。该“后作用效应”是由非均匀激光场所形成的无质动力所引起的经典物理过程。 关键词:  相似文献

在Keldysh-Faisal-Reiss(缩写为KFR)理论框架内,考虑了光场与原子势之间的耦合作用,对原有的KFR理论作了改进,得到了原子光电离概率的新的解析表达式。由这个新表达式产生的短脉冲强激光中氢原子阈上电离电子谱线与最近的实验谱线符合得比较好。由此对实验谱线提出了新的解释。 关键词:  相似文献

The ultra-high fields of high-power short-pulse lasers are expected to contribute to understanding fundamental properties of the quantum vacuum and quantum theory in very strong fields. For example, the neutral QED vacuum breaks down at the Schwinger field strength of 1.3×1018 V/m, where a virtual e+e- pair gains its rest mass energy over a Compton wavelength and materializes as a real pair. At such an ultra-high field strength, an electron experiences an acceleration of aS=2×1028g and hence fundamental phenomena such as the long predicted Unruh effect start to play a role. The Unruh effect implies that the accelerated electron experiences the vacuum as a thermal bath with the Unruh temperature. In its accelerated frame the electron scatters photons off the thermal bath, corresponding to the emission of an entangled pair of photons in the laboratory frame. While it remains an experimental challenge to reach the critical Schwinger field strength within the immediate future even in view of the enormous thrust in high-power laser developments in recent years, the near-future laser technology may allow to probe the signatures of the Unruh effect mentioned above. Using a laser-accelerated electron beam (γ~300) and a counter-propagating laser beam acting as optical undulator should allow to create entangled Unruh photon pairs (i.e., signatures of the Unruh effect) with energies of the order of several hundred keV. An even substantially improved experimental scenario can be realized by using a brilliant 20 keV photon beam as X-ray undulator together with a low-energy (γ≈2) electron beam. In this case the separation of the Unruh photon pairs from background originating from linearly accelerated electrons (classical Larmor radiation) is significantly improved. Detection of the Unruh photons may be envisaged by Compton polarimetry in a 2D-segmented position-sensitive germanium detector.  相似文献

Abstract

Carrier concentration and mobility dependences on the annealing temperature have been compared for the cases of thermal (10 min) and laser (8 ms) annealing of silicon, implanted with low doses of P+ ions. It was found that the recovery of concentration and mobility depended on the heating time in different ways. The laser annealing requires higher temperatures for mobility recovery then the thermal treatment. The same temperature shift was observed for increase of carrier concentration but only after doses less than 3.1012m?2. When the doses exceeded 3.1012 cm?2 laser and thermal annealing resulted in equal electron concentrations providing the equality of heating temperatures. Annealing of disordered regions was accounted for the mobility recovery. The increase of electron concentration was explained as an instantaneous decay of defect-impurity complexes. To check the validity of the assumptions laser annealing of electron and light ions irradiated materials was investigated.  相似文献

Trapping of helium after implantation at energies of 8 to 150 keV and fluences up to 1019 He-ions/cm2 in nickel at room temperature is studied by measuring the thermal desorption spectra during linear heating up to 1000°C. At several annealing stages the trapped helium is measured by means of the nuclear reaction 3He(d, α)H and the target surface is observed by laser scattering and with the scanning electron microscope.

The thermal desorption spectra depend strongly on the implantation fluence but only slightly on the implantation energy, indicating a similar trapping of He in the lattice for the implantation energies used here, The temperature at which desorption starts decreases with increasing fluence. Above the critical fluence for blistering an additional low temperature (150°C) desorption maximum is found.

The desorption peak at 150°C can be approximated theoretically with a single jump desorption process of first order and a Gaussian distribution of activation energies around 1 eV. The measurements indicate that at higher temperatures (>300°C) helium desorption is partly due to the opening of helium bubbles at the target surface.  相似文献

In an effort to realize a two-bit processor for a quantum computer on the basis of single nitrogen-vacancy defect centers (NV centers) in diamond, the optically detected nutations of the electron spin of a single NV center in the ground state and of the nuclear spin of a 13C atom located at a diamond lattice site nearest to the NV center are studied. The photodynamics of NV and NV + 13C centers under different temperatures and optical excitation conditions is discussed. A seven-level model of a center excited by radiation from an Ar+ laser at room temperature is proposed. On the basis of this model, the experimental spectra of optically detected electron paramagnetic and electron-nuclear double resonances of single NV and NV + 13C centers in diamond nanocrystals, as well as experimental data on the optically detected nutations of the electron and nuclear spins of these centers caused by the actions of pulsed microwave and radiofrequency fields, respectively, are interpreted.  相似文献

The results of an investigation of the electromagnetic wave polarization, probing high-temperature laser plasma, as well as spatial-temporal structure of the magnetic fields, electron density, current density, and electron drift velocity are presented. To create the plasma, plane massive Al targets were irradiated with the second harmonic of a phoenix Nd laser at intensities up to 5·1014 W/cm2. It was shown that the magnetooptical Faraday effect is the main mechanism responsible for the changing polarization of the probing wave. Magnetic fields up to 0.4 MG with electron densities ∼1020 cm−3 were measured. Analysis of the magnetic field spatial distribution showed that the current density achieved the value ∼90 MA/cm2 on the laser axis. The radial structure of the magnetic field testified to the availability of the reversed current in the laser plasma. In this work, we present X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of laser treated vanadium oxide sols. The films were also observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to reveal how the original xerogel structure changes into irregular shaped, layer structured V2O5 due to the laser radiation. XRD revealed that above 102 W/cm2 the original xerogel structure disappears and above 129 W/cm2 the films become totally polycrystalline with an orthorhombic structure. XPS spectra showed O/V ratio increment by using higher laser intensities.  相似文献

The enhancement of spontaneous radiative recombination of C6+ ions with free electrons in a resonant laser field has been investigated at the Heidelberg cooler ring TSR for different transverse electron temperatures realized by adiabatically expanding the magnetically guided electron beam. The recombination spectra close to the ionization threshold strongly deviate from calculations for free independent electrons, showing important contributions at energies below this threshold. Shape and relative size of these contributions change significantly as the transverse temperature is varied. These changes are not consistent with the expected behaviour of sub-threshold contributions due to electric stray fields.  相似文献

利用1064 nm Nd:YAG激光器研究了激光诱导铁条等离子体的特征参数。为了减小测量误差和谱线自发辐射跃迁几率不确定性带来的计算误差,采用改进的迭代Boltzmann方法精确求解铁等离子体的电子温度为8058 K。Lorentz函数拟合Fe I 376.553 nm得到等离子体的电子数密度为8.71017 cm-3。分析表明等离子体的加热机制主要是逆轫致过程,其吸收系数是0.14 cm-1。实验数据证实激光诱导铁等离子体处于局部热力学平衡状态和光学薄状态。  相似文献

A high-quality disordered Nd3+:Ca3Gd2(BO3)4 (Nd3+:CGB) laser crystal was grown by the Czochralski method. The space group and effective segregation coefficient of Nd3+ were determined to be Pnma and 1.06, respectively. The thermal properties, including the average linear thermal expansion coefficient, thermal diffusivity, specific heat, and thermal conductivity were systematically measured for the first time. It was found that the thermal conductivity increases with increasing temperature, indicating glasslike behavior. The polarized spectral properties of the crystal were investigated, including the polarized absorption spectra, polarized fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence decay. The spectroscopic parameters of Nd3+ ions in Nd3+:CGB crystal have been obtained based on Judd–Ofelt theory. The anisotropy of the spectral properties for different polarized directions was discussed. Additionally, the continuous-wave (CW) laser performance at 1.06 μm was demonstrated for the first time. The maximum output power of 603 mW was achieved with corresponding optical conversion efficiency of 8.33% and slope efficiency of 9.95%.  相似文献

The dependence of the spectra of the near-IR and visible selective heat radiation (SHR) of the Yb2O3 polycrystals that are synthesized using the laser thermal method on the excitation intensity of the CW electric discharge CO2 laser at the wavelength λ = 10.6 μm is experimentally studied. The SHR spectra are determined by the multiphonon excitation of the vibronic states of the 2 F 5/2 term in the Yb3+ ions and the radiative transitions to the vibronic states of the ground term 2 F 7/2.The laser heating of the polycrystals to the melting point causes the anomalous growth of the SHR spectral peaks in the wavelength range λ ≥ 1040 nm due to an increase in the intensity related to an increase in the probabilities of the radiative vibronic transitions owing to the thermal increase in the phonon density. The effective conversion of the thermal energy of the Yb2O3 polycrystals into the SHR indicate the significant role of the radiative cooling of surface.  相似文献

The photophysical properties of solutions and films with relatively high concentrations of CdSe/ZnS nanoparticles are studied in the presence of the visible laser irradiation in a wide range of power densities. The short-wavelength wing detected in the photoluminescence spectra of the solutions of quantum dots is due to the selective laser excitation of small-size nanoparticles. A comprehensive analysis of the anti-Stokes photoluminescence of the nanoparticles in solutions and films indicates the thermal mechanism of this phenomenon. The dimensional quantization effect, narrow spectra, and a relatively high luminescence yield are retained in the films with a high nanoparticle concentration. The luminescence spectra of the films remain unchanged when the laser flux density increases to 1 × 106 W/cm2. The effect of the laser radiation on the nanoparticle films is studied at the flux densities exceeding the damage threshold (5 × 106–1 × 109 W/cm2).  相似文献

The laser thermal melting of powders is used to fabricate selective emitters (SEs) that represent Nd2O3 and Y2O3-Nd2O3 polycrystals on quartz holders. The SEs are stable under atmospheric conditions upon multiple heating by laser radiation up to the melting point. The spectral shape and integral intensity of the selective heat radiation (SHR) of the Nd2O3 microcrystalline powder and the Nd2O3 and Y2O3-Nd2O3 polycrystals are experimentally studied in the near-IR and visible spectral ranges versus the intensity of the laser thermal excitation at a wavelength of 10.6 μm in comparison with the absorption and luminescence spectra of the YAG:Nd3+ and YAlO3:Nd3+ single crystals. The SHR spectra are determined by the vibronic transitions between the electronic states 2 G 7/2-4F3/2 4I11/2 and 4I9/2 of the Nd3+ ions that are thermally excited due to the multiphonon transitions from the ground state. The energy balance of the SE laser thermal heating is experimentally investigated. The coefficient of the laser energy conversion to the Nd3+ SHR is measured, and the emissivity of the SEs that can be used for the study of the thermophotovoltaic generators and the optical excitation of the laser-active media in the near-IR spectral range is estimated.  相似文献

The production of electron-positron and muon-antimuon pairs in high-frequency laser fields via few-photon absorption is considered. It is assumed that an intense X-ray laser beam collides either with a relativistic ion beam or with a second, equally intense laser beam. We study the generation of free e + e ? pairs, free μ+μ? pairs, and bound-free e + e ? pairs where in the latter case the electron is born in a low-lying atomic orbit of the projectile nucleus. Effects resulting from the finite nuclear size, the laser’s polarization state, and its magnetic field component are examined, which are testable experimentally by virtue of upcoming X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) devices.  相似文献

Spectral analysis of K-shell X-ray emission of magnesium plasma, produced by laser pulses of 45 fs duration, focussed up to an intensity of ~1018 W cm?2, is carried out. The plasma conditions prevalent during the emission of X-ray spectrum were identified by comparing the experimental spectra with the synthetic spectra generated using the spectroscopic code PrismSPECT. It is observed that He-like resonance line emission occurs from the plasma region having sub-critical density, whereas K-α emission arises from the bulk solid heated to a temperature of 10 eV by the impact of hot electrons. K-α line from Be-like ions was used to estimate the hot electron temperature. A power law fit to the electron temperature showed a scaling of I 0.47 with laser intensity.  相似文献
