The symmetries of the (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear incompressible non-hydrostatic Boussinesq (INHB) equations, which describe the atmospheric gravity waves (GWs), are researched in this paper. The Lie symmetries and the corresponding reductions are obtained by means of classical Lie group approach. Calculation shows the INHB equations are invariant under some Galilean transformations, scaling transformations, and space-time translations. The symmetry reduction equations and similar solutions of the INHB equations are proposed.  相似文献

Complete group classification of a class of variable coefficient (1+1)-dimensional wave equations is performed. The possible additional equivalence transformations between equations from the class under consideration and the conditional equivalence groups are also investigated. These allow simplification of the results of the classification and further applications of them. The derived Lie symmetries are used to construct exact solutions of special forms of these equations via the classical Lie method. Nonclassical symmetries of the wave equations are discussed.  相似文献

Lie symmetry reduction of some truly "variable coefficient" wave equations which are singled out from a class of (1 + 1)-dimensional variable coefficient nonlinear wave equations with respect to one and two-dimensional algebras is carried out. Some classes of exact solutions of the investigated equations are found by means of both the reductions and some modern techniques such as additional equivalent transformations and hidden symmetries and so on. Conditional symmetries are also discussed.  相似文献

Based on some known facts of integrable models, this paper proposes a new (2+1)-dimensional bilinear model equation. By virtue of the formal series symmetry approach, the new model is proved to be integrable because of the existence of the higher order symmetries. The Lie point symmetries of the model constitute an infinite dimensional Kac- Moody Virasoro symmetry algebra. Making use of the infinite Lie point symmetries, the possible symmetry reductions of the model are also studied  相似文献

By Lie symmetry method, the Lie point symmetries and its Kac Moody-Virasoro (KMV) symmetry algebra of (2+1)-dimensional dispersive long-wave equation (DLWE) are obtained, and the finite transformation of DLWE is given by symmetry group direct method, which can recover Lie point symmetries. Then KMV symmetry algebra of DLWE with arbitrary order invariant is also obtained. On basis of this algebra the group invariant solutions and similarity reductions are also derived.  相似文献

We study a third-order nonlinear evolution equation, which can be transformed to the modified KdV equation, using the Lie symmetry method. The Lie point symmetries and the one-dimensional optimal system of the symmetry algebras are determined. Those symmetries are some types of nonlocal symmetries or hidden symmetries of the modified KdV equation. The group-invariant solutions, particularly the travelling wave and spiral wave solutions, are discussed in detail, and a type of spiral wave solution which is smooth in the origin is obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, the variable-coefficient diffusion-advection (DA) equation, which arises in modeling various physical phenomena, is studied by the Lie symmetry approach. The similarity reductions are derived by determining the complete sets of point symmetries of this equation, and then exact and numerical solutions are reported for the reduced second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Further, an extended (Gl/G)-expansion method is applied to the DA equation to construct some new non-traveling wave solutions.  相似文献

With the aid of symbolic computation, we present the symmetry transformations of the (2+ 1)-dimensional Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon-Kotera-Sawada equation with Lou's direct method that is based on Lax pairs. Moreover, with the symmetry transformations we obtain the Lie point symmetries of the CDGKS equation, and reduce the equation with the obtained symmetries. As a result, three independent reductions are presented and some group-invariant solutions of the equation are given.  相似文献

We study the symmetries of a (2+1)-dimensional generalized Broer-Kaup system by means of the classical Lie group theory. The corresponding group algebra is constructed. Based on the symmetries, severaJ types of similarity solutions are obtained.  相似文献

The determining equations for the nonclassical symmetry reductions of nonlinear partial differential equations with arbitrary order can be obtained by requiring the compatibility between the original equations and the invariant surface conditions. The (2+1)-dimensional shallow water wave equation,
Boussinesq equation, and the dispersive wave equations in shallow water serve as examples illustrating how compatibility leads quickly and easily to the determining equations for their nonclassical symmetries.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the (2+1)-dimensional Benney types of equations. By the complete Lie group classification method, all of the point symmetries of the Benney types of equations are obtained, and the integrable condition of the equation is given. Then, the symmetry reductions and exact solutions to the (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear wave equations are presented. Especially, the shock wave solutions of the Benney equations are investigated by the symmetry reduction and trial function method.  相似文献

With the aid of the classical Lie group method and nonclassical Lie group method, we derive the classical Lie point symmetry and the nonclassical Lie point symmetry of (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton (BS) equation. Using the symmetries, we find six classical similarity reductions and two nonclassical similarity reductions of the BS equation. Varieties of exact solutions of the BS equation are obtained by solving the reduced equations.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper, we bring out the Lie symmetries and associated similarity reductions of the recently proposed (2+1) dimensional long dispersive wave equation. We point out that the integrable system admits an infinite-dimensional symmetry algebra along with Kac-Moody-Virasoro-type subalgebras. We also bring out certain physically interesting solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, nonlocal symmetry of the (2+1) dimensional modified generalized long dispersive wave system and its applications are investigated. The nonlocal symmetry related to the eigenfunctions in Lax pairs is derived, and infinitely many nonlocal symmetries are obtained. By introducing three potentials, the prolongation is found to localize the given nonlocal symmetry. Various finite-and infinite-dimensional integrable models are constructed by using the nonlocal symmetry constraint method. Moreover, applying the general Lie symmetry approach to the enlarged system, the finite symmetry transformation and similarity reductions are computed to give novel exact interaction solutions. In particular, the explicit soliton-cnoidal wave solution is obtained for the modified generalized long dispersive wave system, and it can be reduced to the two-dark-soliton solution in one special case.  相似文献

All the similarity reductions of the dispersive wave equations in shallow water are obtained by a direct method. The similarity solutions obtained by the classical Lie approach are only a special case of the results given by the direct method.  相似文献
