In this work carbonyl iron/La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 composites were prepared to develop super-thin microwave absorbing materials. The complex permittivity, permeability and microwave absorption properties are investigated in the frequency range of 8-12 GHz. An optimal reflection loss of −12.4 dB is reached at 10.5 GHz with a matching thickness of 0.8 mm. The thickness of carbonyl iron/La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 absorber is thinner, compared with conventional carbonyl iron powders with the same absorption properties. The bandwidth with a reflection loss exceeding −7.4 dB is obtained in the whole measured frequency range with the thickness of 0.8 mm. The excellent microwave absorption properties are attributed to a better electromagnetic matching established by the combination of the enhanced dielectric loss and nearly invariable magnetic loss with the addition of La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 nanoparticles in the composites. Our work indicates that carbonyl iron/La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 composites may have an important application in wide-band and super-thin electromagnetic absorbers in the frequency range of 8−12 GHz.  相似文献

The microwave absorption properties of zinc oxide/carbonyl iron composite nanoparticles fabricated by high energy ball milling were studied at 0-20 GHz. Experiments showed that ZnO as a kind of dielectric material coating carbonyl iron particles made the bandwidth of reflection loss (RL)<−5 dB expanding to the low frequency, and enhanced absorption effect obviously. For a 3 mm thickness absorber of ZnO/carbonyl iron after 30 h milling, the values of RL<−5 dB and RL<−8 dB were obtained in the frequency range from 7.0 GHz to 17.8 GHz and from 9.8 dB to 14.9 dB, respectively, and its strongest RL peak was −29.34 dB at 13.59 GHz. The magnetic loss of carbonyl iron particles and the dielectric loss of ZnO particles were the main mechanisms of microwave absorption for the composites.  相似文献

Fe/SiO2 particles with core/shell structure were prepared by coating silica on the surface of a commercial spherical carbonyl iron via the hydrolysis process of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The electromagnetic performance of commercial carbonyl iron and as-prepared Fe/SiO2 particles was studied theoretically and experimentally. As predicted by the theoretical calculation based on the Bruggeman formula and the LandauLifshitzGilbert (LLG) theory, the insulating surface layer of silica was effective to reduce the permittivity parameters of pure carbonyl iron. The measured results showed good agreement with the theoretical prediction. Although there was a little decrease in the permeability of the Fe/SiO2 core/shell particles, a better impedance match especially at higher frequency range was obtained when used as a microwave absorber. The reflection loss (RL) curves show that the lowest reflection loss of Fe/Epoxy composite (−20.5 GHz) was obtained corresponding to the frequency of 8.5 GHz when the thickness of the absorber was 3 mm. A different trend was observed in Fe/SiO2/Epoxy composite. The reflection loss value got lower by decreasing the thickness of absorbers. At the thickness of 2.2 mm, a relative low reflection loss (−17 GHz) corresponding to the frequency of 13.6 GHz was obtained. Compared with the Fe/Epoxy composite, the improvement on shifting the reflection loss peak to higher frequency and on reducing the optimal thickness of absorbers was made by Fe/SiO2/Epoxy composite.  相似文献

In this paper, magnetic iron fibers of 3–10 μm diameter and an adjustable aspect ratio were synthesized successfully by a method involving pyrolysis of carbonyl under a magnetic field. A surface modification technology was also investigated. The electromagnetic parameters of the iron-fiber–wax composites were measured using the transmission/reflection coaxial line method in the microwave frequency range of 2–18 GHz. The results show that the prepared iron-fiber–wax composites exhibit high magnetic loss that can be further improved after phosphating. On the other hand, the complex permittivity was significantly decreased after phosphating. As a result, this kind of iron fiber may be useful for thin and lightweight radar-absorbing materials.  相似文献

Magnetic hollow spheres of low density were prepared by plating Fe3O4 magnetic films on hollow glass spheres using ferrite plating. The complex permeability and permittivity of spheres–wax composites were measured in the range of 2–18 GHz. The complex permeability and permittivity increased, and the dielectric and magnetic losses were improved as the volume fraction of the magnetic spheres in the composites increased from 60% to 80%, which also resulted in a great improvement of microwave absorption properties. For composites with volume fraction 80%, its magnetic resonance frequency was at about 13 GHz and it appeared three loss peaks in the calculated reflection loss curves; the bandwidth less than −10 dB was almost 4 GHz which was just in the Ku-band frequencies (12–18 GHz) and a minimum reflection loss of −20 dB was obtained when the thickness was 2.6 mm; the microwave absorbing properties were mainly due to the magnetic loss. The results showed that the magnetic spheres composites were good and light microwave absorbers in the Ku-band frequencies.  相似文献

Sol–gel method was used to prepare W-type BaCo2Fe16O27 hexaferrite and La-doped Ba0.7La0.3Co2Fe16O27 hexaferrite. Electromagnetic parameters of the ferrites and short carbon fiber composites were measured, and reflectivity was calculated according to transmission-line theory in the range 12.4–18 GHz. The results show that reflection loss of the doped ferrite composite is higher as compared to the no doped ferrite composite. Based on the above calculation, double-layer absorbers containing La-doped ferrite and carbon fiber composites were designed, and reflectivity of the double-layer absorbers made of different thickness and composition was calculated. Finally, a kind of structural absorber having excellent absorbing properties was achieved, and the bandwidth of the reflection loss less than −10 dB can reach 5.2 GHz in the range of 12.4–18 GHz.  相似文献

The microwave-absorbing properties for different shapes of carbonyl-iron particles prepared by the high-energy planetary ball milling with 40 vol% in epoxy resin matrix have been investigated. Higher value of magnetic permeability and permittivity can be obtained in the composites for thin flake carbonyl iron than spherical powders. The results are attributed to reduction of eddy current loss, orientation of magnetic moment and space-charge polarization with the shape change from spherical powders to thin flake particles. As the iron flakes with 0.4 μm in thickness as the absorbent fillers, the minimum RL value of −6.20 dB was observed at 4.57 GHz with thickness of 1 mm. The minimum reflection loss (RL) shifts to lower frequency and the value declines with change from spherical powders to thin flakes. It results from the considerable dielectric loss in the absorbing materials.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline Fe-Ti-Si-Al flaky powders with large aspect ratio have been fabricated by high-energy planetary milling melt-spun ribbons. Magnetic composites made of thermally annealed Fe-Ti-Si-Al flaky powders embedded in epoxy resin exhibit excellent electromagnetic wave absorption properties in a wide frequency range from 100 MHz to 2.65 GHz. Ti additions can enhance the electrical resistivity of Fe-Si-Al alloy without changing the crystallographic structure, resulting in the reduction of eddy current loss at high frequencies. Moreover, the substitution of Ti for Fe enhances the cut-off frequency of flaky powder-polymer composites. Meanwhile, compared to the Ti-free composites, reflection loss of the Ti-doped composites (3 mm in thickness) is lower than −10 dB in the frequency range from 593 MHz to 1.83 GHz, indicating that the composites can effectively work in a wider frequency bandwidth.  相似文献

The complex permittivity (ε′–″), complex permeability (μ′–″) and microwave absorption properties of ferrite–polymer composites prepared with different ferrite ratios of 50%, 60%, 70% and 80% in polyurethane (PU) matrix have been investigated in X-band (8.2–12.4 GHz) frequency range. The M-type hexaferrite composition BaCo+20.9Fe+20.05Si+40.95Fe+310.1O19 was prepared by solid-state reaction technique, whereas commercial PU was used to prepare the composites. At higher GHz frequencies, ferrite's permeabilities are drastically reduced, however, the forced conversion of Fe+3 to Fe+2 ions that involves electron hopping, could have increased the dielectric losses in the chosen composition. We have measured complex permittivity and permeability using a vector network analyzer (HP/Agilent model PNA E8364B) and software module 85071. All the parameters ε′, ε″, μ′ and μ″ are found to increase with increased ferrite contents. Measured values of these parameters were used to determine the reflection loss at various sample thicknesses, based on a model of a single-layered plane wave absorber backed by a perfect conductor. The composite with 80% ferrite content has shown a minimum reflection loss of −24.5 dB (>99% power absorption) at 12 GHz with the −20 dB bandwidth over the extended frequency range of 11–13 GHz for an absorber thickness of 1.6 mm. The prepared composites can fruitfully be utilized for suppression of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reduction of radar signatures (stealth technology).  相似文献

Microwave absorbing materials filled with BaTiO3 and carbonyl iron (CI) particles with various weight fractions (BaTiO3/CI particles=100/0 to 0/100) are investigated. The dielectric and magnetic properties of the absorbers can be tuned by changing the weight ratio of BaTiO3/CI particles in the frequency range of 2-18 GHz. Numerical simulations are also performed to design a single-layer and double-layer absorber. The minimum reflection loss of the composite filled with 20 wt% BaTiO3 and 60 wt% CI particles at 2.0 mm thickness can be reached to −42 dB at 4.1 GHz. With the weight ratio of CI particles in the composite increased, the microwave absorption peak shifted to the lower frequency region. By using a double-layer absorber structure, the microwave absorption performance of the absorber is enhanced. The result shows that the total thickness of the absorber can be reduced below 1.4 mm by using a matching layer filled with 50 wt% BaTiO3, and an absorption layer filled with 60 wt% BaTiO3 and 20 wt% CI particles, whereas the reflection loss below −10 dB can be obtained in the frequency range of 10.8-14.8 GHz and the minimum reflection loss of −59 dB can be obtained at 12.5 GHz.  相似文献

Ferromagnetic powders which are surrounded by an electrically insulating film (soft magnetic composites (SMCs)) exhibit unique magnetic properties, such as relatively low magnetic losses and 3D isotropic magnetic behavior. In some electromagnetic applications, including microwave frequency range applications, it is necessary to increase electrical resistivity without any noticeable reduction in magnetic properties. To achieve this purpose, electrically resistant materials, for example, ferrites with acceptable magnetic properties, are suitable candidates. This paper focuses on the effects of the synthesized Ni–Zn ferrite addition on the magnetic properties of the SMCs containing Ni–Zn ferrite within iron particles. The structure was studied by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microstructure and the powder morphology were examined by the use of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The magnetic measurements on powders and samples were carried out using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and an LCR meter, respectively. The results indicate that the lowest magnetic loss and the highest magnetic permeability are related to the composites with 20 wt% ferrite and 2 wt% ferrite, respectively. Also, the composites with 10 wt% ferrite show a good combination of magnetic loss and magnetic permeability in the range 0–500 kHz.  相似文献

To solve more and more serious electromagnetic interference problem, one thin microwave absorbing sheet employing carbonyl-iron powder (CIP) and chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) was prepared. The pattern, static magnetic properties and phase of CIP were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The electromagnetic parameters of CIP were measured in the frequency range of 2-18 GHz, and the electromagnetic loss mechanisms of the powder were discussed. The microwave absorption properties of composite sheets with different thicknesses and CIP ratios in matrix were investigated by measuring reflection loss (RL) in 2-18 GHz frequency range using the arch method. The results showed that appropriate CIP content and thickness could greatly improve microwave absorption properties in lower frequency range. For the sample with the weight ratio (CIP:CPE) of 16:1 and 1.5 mm thickness, the bandwidth (RL below −10 dB) achieved 1.1 GHz (2-3.1 GHz), and the minimum reflection loss value was obtained −13.2 dB at 2.2 GHz. This suggested that CIP/CPE composites could be applied as thin microwave absorbers in S-band (2-4 GHz).  相似文献

Dielectromagnetics made from organic–inorganic hybrid silica-coated iron powders were characterised by determination of their physical, mechanical and magnetic properties. The influence of three main factors, dielectric composition, addition level and heat treatment conditions were investigated. Results showed that these factors have significant effects on the performance of the dielectromagnetics. Increase in the organic phase content in these dielectric coatings tends to increase both the electrical resistivity and magnetic permeability of dielectromagnetics, although the strength and density are slightly impaired. Increasing the coating thickness leads to improvements in resistivity and thus reduced eddy current losses, but these are offset by reductions in density, strength and particularly magnetic permeability. A hybrid organic–inorganic coating formulation based on 40 mol% MTMS and 60 mol% TEOS precursors was found to be the optimum composition investigated. Addition levels between 0.1% and 0.3% were found to offer a good compromise between maximum permeability (μmax>400) and minimum loss (typically <8 W/kg) for operation at 50 Hz/1 T, and the system can be optimised within this range for the desired performance.  相似文献

Flake shaped (Ni0.5Zn0.5)Fe2O4/Co nanocomposites were successfully fabricated by co-precipitating of Ni-Zn ferrite on the surface of cobalt nanoflakes. The electromagnetic characteristics of the samples were studied at the frequency of 0.1–14 GHz. The results showed that the cobalt nanoflakes in compacted nanocomposites were well orientated, and the nanocomposites were characterized with low optimal reflection loss (RL) of −33.8 dB at 11.5 GHz and broad RL bandwidth for <−20 dB in the frequency range of 7.6–12.1 GHz. At the same time, the position of the absorptive band can be adjusted by changing the mass ratio of ferrite to cobalt in the nanocomposites. It is proposed that the excellent microwave absorption properties are related to the combination of strong shape anisotropy of cobalt nanoflakes and adjustable dielectric loss.  相似文献

NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized by the polyacrylamide gel method with acrylamide as the monomer and N,N′-methylenediacrylamide as lattice agent. The average crystallite sizes of the nickel ferrites annealed at 500, 600 and 800 °C are about 10, 30 and 50 nm, respectively. Ferrite-polystyrene composites were made by hot pressing, and microwave-absorbing properties of the composites with different contents of 35, 45, 55 and 65 wt% ferrite were investigated by testing complex permeability and complex permittivity in the X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz) frequency range. All the parameters, ε′, ε″, μ′ and μ″, increase with increasing ferrite content. The reflection losses were calculated based on a model of a single-layered plane wave absorber backed by a perfect conductor. The composite with 65 wt% ferrite content shows a minimum reflection loss of −13 dB at 11.5 GHz with a −10 dB bandwidth over the extended frequency range of 10.3-13 GHz for an absorber thickness of 2 mm.  相似文献

Polyaniline/BaFe12O19 (PANI/Ba ferrite) composites were synthesized by in situ polymerization at different aniline/Ba ferrite weight ratios (Ani/Ba ferrite=1/2, 1/1 and 2/1) and introduced into epoxy resin to be microwave absorber. The spectroscopic characterizations of the formation processes of PANI/Ba ferrite composites were studied using Fourier transform infrared, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and electron spin resonance. Microwave-absorbing properties were investigated by measuring complex permittivity, complex permeability and reflection loss in the 2-18 and 18-40 GHz microwave frequency range using the free space method. The results showed that a wider absorption frequency range could be obtained by adding different polyaniline contents in Ba ferrite.  相似文献

Composite absorbers made from 66 wt% carbonyl iron and 34 wt% low melting point glass powder were prepared by a pressureless sintering technique in a nitrogen atmosphere. Apparent porosity and bending strength of the as-prepared composites were investigated. The microstructure, heat resisting properties and electromagnetic properties were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis–differential scanning calorimetry and vector network analyzer. The results show that the carbonyl iron/glass composite absorbers were difficult to densify. As the sintering temperature and soaking time increased, the apparent porosity first decreased and then increased, whereas the bending strength showed the opposite change. The composite absorber sintered at 520 °C for 40 min achieved the minimum apparent porosity of 13.08% and the highest bending strength of 52 MPa. Compared to the carbonyl iron/silicone rubber absorber, the carbonyl iron/glass composite absorber exhibited better heat resisting properties, and the initial oxidation temperature was increased about 200 °C. The composite absorber with a thickness of 1.25 mm showed a good microwave absorbing property in 8–12 GHz.  相似文献

We investigated the origin of reflection loss (RL) peaks of Co2Z particle composite (t mm)/fake-shaped carbonyl iron (CI) particle composite (1.5 mm) double-layer absorbers backed by a perfect conductor in 0.1–18 GHz. The RL peak frequency in the low frequency region remains unvariable and the RL peak in the high frequency region moves to lower frequency with the increase of Co2Z particle composite thickness. The investigation results indicated that the two RL peaks come from the quarter-wavelength cancellation at the interface from Co2Z particle composite to CI particle composite and the interface from air to Co2Z particle composite, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, the microwave-absorbing properties of (Ni1−xyCoxZny)Fe2O4 spinel ferrites have been investigated within the frequency range of 0.5–14 GHz. There are two kinds of resonance peaks observed in the permeability spectra: domain-wall resonances at lower frequency and spin-rotation resonances at higher frequency. The reflection loss (RL) calculations show that the prepared NiCoZn spinel ferrites are good electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbers in microwave range. In terms of the absorbing frequency band (AFB) and the matching thickness (tm), (Ni0.407Co0.207Zn0.386)Fe2O4 shows the best performances: tm=3.15 mm and the AFB is 8.64–11.2 GHz. Decreasing the weight ratio of NiCoZn ferrites in ferrites/wax composites, the matching thickness decreases and the AFB shifts to higher frequencies. Compared with the absorbers with single-layer ferrites, the absorbers with double-layers ferrites have better absorbing performances, such as a thinner matching thickness and a wider EM wave AFB.  相似文献

The microwave absorption properties of nanosized double perovskite Sr2FeMoO6 and epoxy resin composites were investigated in the frequency range of 2-18 GHz using the coaxial method. The Sr2FeMoO6 composites with an optimal 20 wt% epoxy resin showed a strong electromagnetic attenuation of −49.3 dB at 8.58 GHz with a matching thickness of 2.15 mm. Moreover the optimum absorption frequency at which the reflection loss is less than −20 dB, which corresponds to 99% reflection loss of the incident microwave, is from 5.7 to 13.2 GHz with the matching thickness ranging from 3.0 to 1.5 mm. The excellent microwave-absorption properties are a consequence of a proper electromagnetic match due to the existence of the insulating matrix of anti-site defects and anti-phase domains, which not only contribute to the dielectric loss but also to the reduced eddy current loss.  相似文献
