为了克服传统调制相移法测量频率范围窄、测量准确度低的缺点,提出一种基于调制相移法的单模光纤长度精确测量技术.利用一体化矢量网络分析仪的高速调制信号同步技术及高频信号相位差测量技术,设计并研制了单模光纤长度测量装置.基于矢量网络分析仪自带的VBA插件编写了自动控制及数据处理软件,给出了相位变化量自动处理方法.利用研制的装置分别测量了长度为2km、40km和150km的单模光纤在不同工作波长点的长度值,实验结果表明,2km的光纤长度测量值实验标准偏差优于0.2mm,150km的光纤长度测量值实验标准偏差接近0.01m.该装置可对1 310nm、1 490nm以及1 550nm波长的光纤距离进行精确测量,为光纤长度的高准确度测量提供了一种新的技术途径. 相似文献

分析了利用光纤中的受激布里渊散射(SBS)相位共轭效应进行激光腔内调Q,产生ns量级脉冲激光的原理,并对利用该效应产生的激光脉冲波形和脉冲形成过程进行了数值模拟,得到的脉冲波形与SBS相位共轭反射率随时间变化曲线基本一致,表明利用光纤中的SBS相位共轭作用调Q具有可行性。据此,对采用单模光纤(SMF)作为SBS池的掺Er3+调Q光纤激光器进行实验研究,当单模光纤长度为1.5 m时,在45 mW的抽运光功率下得到脉宽约2.6 ns,脉冲周期58.23 ns,平均功率7.35 mW的激光脉冲。进一步的研究表明:激光器中相位共轭镜的形成与SBS介质长度有关,SBS介质过长,斯托克斯线之间无固定的相位关系,不能形成相干叠加,SBS相位共轭腔不能形成; SBS介质过短,腔内正交偏振模光子寿命的改变使脉冲出现双峰现象。脉冲形成后其属性只与SBS动态属性有关。 相似文献

基于被动锁模光纤激光器中色散波与孤子波的相瓦干涉产生的光谱边带效应,提出了一种测量单模光纤色散系数的方法.测量了各级边带中心波长的偏移量,利用边带偏移量与腔内总色散之间的关系,得到腔内总色散值.不同长度的同种光纤构成的环形腔,其总色散值不同,它与光纤长度的变化斜率即是待测光纤的色散系数.搭建了被动锁模掺铒光纤激光器平台,在1560 mm波段测量了G.652常规单模光纤的色散系数,实验值为16 ps/(mm·km),与典型值17 ps/(nm·km)符合得很好. 相似文献

提出了一种新的基于薄芯光纤模态干涉技术的光纤曲率传感器。在单模光纤的中间部分插入薄芯光纤用于传感光路,没有插入薄芯光纤的单模光纤用于参考光路,以消除环境对曲率测量的影响。由于插入的薄芯光纤和单模光纤纤芯失配,导致包层的高次模被激发,并与纤芯模在单模光纤内形成干涉。当改变薄芯光纤的曲率时,沿纤芯和包层传播的模态和光纤长度会发生改变,使得干涉谷峰发生平移。将传感光纤的两端固定的平移台上,当调节平移台距离时,薄芯光纤的曲率发生改变,导致干涉谷峰向短波方向平移。通过观察谷峰的平移距离可以实现曲率的传感测量。实验表明,该装置具有低损耗、低成本和高灵敏度的特点。 相似文献

为满足半导体光放大器(SOA)在光纤到户FTTH系统接入网中的广泛应用,提出了基于光纤光栅外腔反馈型GC-SOA结构的全光增益机制,窄线宽激光光源经可变衰减器、隔离器和光纤光栅注入到SOA中,SOA的输出光经隔离器和光纤光栅送至光谱分析仪,通过光纤光栅反馈输入SOA形成钳制激光。对GC-SOA的阈值特性、增益特性及开关特性进行分析,结果表明:当注入电流小于GC-SOA的阈值电流时,增益随注入电流的增加而增加;当注入电流大于GC-SOA的阈值电流后,其增益不再随注入电流的变化而变化,实现了SOA的增益稳定,使SOA的饱和输出功率得到了提高。 相似文献

A multi-clad waveguide, which provide more bandwidth for WDM with S+C+L bands, is illustrated in this study. The bending loss is optimized for the FTTH applications. The fiber is manufactured by PCVD process; the test results are identical with the theoretic calculation. This fiber has nearly flat dispersion from 1460 nm to 1625 nm. The MFD at 1310 nm and 1550 nm are 8.2 and 9.4 μm, respectively. Bending loss is less than 0.1 dB/Turn at a bending radius of 7.5 mm. With low-water-peak manufacture technologies, the fiber is suitable for FTTH applications. 相似文献

Abstract Broadband services for residential users in European countries have until now largely relied on xDSL technologies, while FTTx technologies have been mainly exploited in Asia and North America. The increasing bandwidth demand and the growing penetration of new services are pushing the deployment of optical access networks, and major European operators are now announcing FTTx projects. While FTTH is recognized as the target solution to bring broadband services to residential users, the identification of an FTTx evolutionary path able to seamlessly migrate to FTTH is key to enabling a massive deployment, easing the huge investments needed. WDM-PON architecture is an interesting solution that is able to accommodate the strategic need of building a new fiber-based access infrastructure with the possibility of adapting investments to actual demands and evolving to FTTH without requiring further interventions on fiber infrastructures. 相似文献

In this paper a fiber communication system is employed using Giga Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GE-PON) architecture. In this architecture an optical fiber is employed directly from a Central Office to the home. A 1:8 splitter is used as a PON element which establishes communication between a Central Office to different users. In this paper GE-PON architecture has investigated for different lengths from a Central Office to the PON in the terms of BER. For 10 Gbit/s system the plots between the BER and transmission distance is plotted and it is seen that as the distance increases beyond the 15 km the BER is increased very sharply. In this article, the spectrum sliced dense wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (SS-DWDM–PON) has been investigated as a power efficient and cost effective solution for optical access networks. In this work an AWG demultiplexer is used to operate as slicing system. The high speed SS-DWDM system has been realized and investigated for 32 channels with data rate up to 3 Gb/s using broadband ASE source (LED). The 3 Gb/s signals both non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and return-to-zero (RZ) were demonstrated in 40 km optical fiber link with BER < 10−12. The wavelength division multiplexing-time division multiplexing (WDM-TDM) passive optical network (PON) using reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA)-based colorless optical networking units (ONUs) is considered as a promising candidate for the realization of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). And this architecture is actively considered by Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) for the realization of FTTH in Taiwan. However, different fiber distances and optical components would introduce different power budgets to different ONUs in the PON. Besides, due to the aging of optical transmitter (Tx), the power decay of the distributed optical carrier from the central office (CO) could also reduce the injection power into each ONU. The situation will be more severe in the long-reach (LR) PON, which is considered as an option for the future access. In this work, we investigate a WDM-TDM PON using RSOA-based ONU for upstream data rate adjustment depending on different continuous wave (CW) injection powers. Both standard-reach (25 km) and LR (100 km) transmissions are evaluated. Moreover, a detail analysis of the upstream signal bit-error rate (BER) performances at different injection powers, upstream data rates, PON split-ratios under stand-reach and long-reach is presented. 相似文献
