The L10 CoPt films with (0 0 1) preferred orientation are achieved by fabricating on the glass substrates and post annealing at 600° C for 30 min. The preferred orientation of [ZrO2/CoPt]n/Ag films dependence of the Ag underlayer thickness, ZrO2 and CoPt interlayer thickness is investigated. A large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and a nearly perfect L10 CoPt (0 0 1) texture are obtained in the [ZrO2 (3 nm)/CoPt (5 nm)]3/Ag (10 nm) film. The existence of ZrO2 plays an important role in reducing the intergranular interactions and in determining the size of CoPt grains. Magnetic reversal in textured CoPt films are close to a Stoner-Wolfarth rotation.  相似文献

CoPt-TiO2 nanocomposite films were synthesized by rapid thermal annealing of CoPt/TiO2 multilayers. The effects of annealing temperature, annealing time, Ag addition and TiO2 volume fraction on the microstructures and magnetic properties of the CoPt-TiO2 nanocomposite films were studied. Results showed that the ordering degree of CoPt and coercivity of CoPt-TiO2 nanocomposites increased with annealing temperature. Increasing annealing time and Ag addition were able to increase the ordering degree and coercivity of CoPt. However, complete L10-ordering of CoPt at 550 °C annealing was not realized by increasing annealing time up to 30 min and Ag addition up to 30 vol.%. Increasing TiO2 volume fraction at 700 °C annealing did not lead to the change of ordering of CoPt. However, the grain structure of the films changed slightly when TiO2 volume fraction was larger than 56%. The coercivity of the film decreased slightly with the addition of TiO2.  相似文献

Self-oriented BiFeO3 (BFO) thin films are prepared via chemical solution deposition method with magnetic field in-situ annealing process. The effects of magnetic annealing on the microstructure, magnetic and dielectric properties as well as magnetoelectric coupling effect of the BFO thin films are investigated. With increasing the annealing magnetic field, the crystallization quality, texture, grain boundary connectivity and densification of the films are enhanced, which is attributed to the improvement of connection and diffusion of components. The magnetization of the field-annealing films and dielectric constant as well as remanent polarization increases with increasing the strength of annealing magnetic field. In addition, it is observed that magnetocapacitance value of the magnetic-field-annealing BFO thin film is higher than the non-field-annealing one. Moreover the BFO thin films annealed at 3 kOe magnetic field show the magnetoelectric effect with 4% under 2 kOe at room temperature.  相似文献

We have fabricated exchange-biased Co/Pt layers ((0.3 nm/1.5 nm)×3) on (0 0 1)-oriented Cr2O3 thin films. The multilayered films showed extremely smooth surfaces and interfaces with root mean square roughness of ≈0.3 nm for 10 μm×10 μm area. The Cr2O3 films display sufficient insulation with a relative low leakage current (1.17×10−2 A/cm2 at 380 MV/m) at room temperature which allowed us to apply electric field as high as 77 MV/m. We find that the sign of the exchange bias and the shape of the hysteresis loops of the out-of-plane magnetized Co/Pt layers can be delicately controlled by adjusting the magnetic field cooling process through the Néel temperature of Cr2O3. No clear evidence of the effect of electric field and the electric field cooling was detected on the exchange bias for fields as high as 77 MV/m. We place the upper bound of the shift in exchange bias field due to electric field cooling to be 5 Oe at 250 K.  相似文献

Two processes for the fabrication of polycrystalline CoSi2 thin films based on the codeposition of Co and Si by sputtering were studied and compared. The first process involved “annealing after deposition”, where Co and Si are codeposited at ambient temperature and then crystallized by annealing. This process yielded randomly oriented plate-like CoSi2 grains with a grain size that is governed by the nanostructure of the as-deposited film. Polycrystalline CoSi2 thin films were obtained at a process temperature of 170 °C, which was much lower than the annealing temperature of 500 °C needed for Co/Si bilayers. The second process involved “heating during deposition”, where Co and Si are codeposited on heated substrates. This process yielded CoSi2 grains with a columnar structure, and the grain size and degree of (1 1 1) orientation are temperature dependent. The sheet resistance of the resulting films was determined by the preparation temperature regardless of the deposition process used, i.e. “annealing after deposition” or “heating during deposition”. Temperatures of 500 °C and higher were needed to achieve CoSi2 resistivity of 40 μΩ cm or lower for both processes.  相似文献

The structural and morphological changes of a 1.1 monolayer (ML) Pt deposit on W(1 1 1) have been investigated in situ, in ultra-high vacuum, as a function of the annealing temperature from 700 to 1340 K, by a combination of grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and grazing incidence small-angle X-ray scattering. Before annealing, the thin Pt layer is two-dimensional and lattice-matched to the W(1 1 1) surface. The faceting of Pt/W(1 1 1) towards nanoscale three-sided pyramids with {2 1 1} facets has been detected from 715 K. At this stage, the pyramids, which have a 5-nm average lateral size, cover nearly perfectly the surface. At higher temperatures, they increase in size. The role of the edge energy in the nanofaceting process is discussed. In addition, 4 MLs Co are deposited at room temperature on the smallest Pt/W pyramids. The obtained three-dimensional Co islands are correlated with the Pt/W nanopyramids and Co is relaxed on Pt/W. At approximately 800 K, a CoPt alloy is formed and becomes better ordered as the annealing temperature increases. At 1100 K, both defaceting and phase separation begin; the CoPt alloy segregates on the W(1 1 1) flat surface, while Co forms an epitaxial layer on the {2 1 1} facets. In addition, in the temperature range of 1100-1200 K, a great majority of {2 1 1} large facets coexist with some {1 1 0} small facets. Finally, the surface becomes flat again at 1250 K.  相似文献

The initial growth and alloy formation of ultrathin Co films deposited on 1 ML Ni/Pt(1 1 1) were investigated by Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), low energy electron diffraction (LEED), and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). A sequence of samples of dCo Co/1 ML Ni/Pt(1 1 1) (dCo = 1, 2, and 3 ML) were prepared at room temperature, and then heated up to investigate the diffusion process. The Co and Ni atoms intermix at lower annealing temperature, and Co-Ni intermixing layer diffuses into the Pt substrate to form Ni-Co-Pt alloys at higher annealing temperature. The diffusion temperatures are Co coverage dependent. The evolution of UPS with annealing temperatures also shows the formation of surface alloys. Some interesting LEED patterns of 1 ML Co/1 ML Ni/Pt(1 1 1) show the formation of ordered alloys at different annealing temperature ranges. Further studies in the Curie temperature and concentration analysis, show that the ordered alloys corresponding to different LEED patterns are NixCo1−xPt and NixCo1−xPt3. The relationship between the interface structure and magnetic properties was investigated.  相似文献

FePt (20 nm) films were annealed in a magnetic field (along the normal direction of the films) at a temperature around the Curie temperature of L10 FePt. The influence of magnetic filed annealing on texture and magnetic properties of FePt films were investigated. The results indicate that preferential (0 0 1) orientation and perpendicular anisotropy can be obtained in L10 FePt films by using magnetic field annealing around the Curie temperature of L10 FePt. This is one of the potential methods to obtain (0 0 1) orientation and thus to improve the perpendicular anisotropy in FePt films.  相似文献

Present study compares the effects of 200 MeV Ag15+ and 100 MeV O7+ ion irradiations on the structural, interfacial mixing and magnetic properties of annealed Pt/Co/Pt layers fabricated by DC magnetron sputtering. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that ion irradiations coupled with post annealing results in the formation of the face centred tetragonal L10 CoPt phase. Irradiation using 200 MeV Ag15+ ions having higher ionizing energy transfer to the film was found to be more efficient in causing structural phase transition as compared with that using 100 MeV energy O7+ ions having lower ionizing energy transfer at similar fluence. Rutherford back scattering analysis reveals the role of defect mediated inter-atomic diffusion in tailoring the alloy composition of the film irradiated by different energetic ions. A broad magnetic switching field distribution for O7+ ion irradiated films compared to Ag15+ ion irradiation was evident from the magnetic measurements. The contribution of alloy composition to switching field distribution has been discussed in details. Above results showed that the electronic energy loss and fluence dependent defects, generated by irradiation, played an important role in tuning the structural, atomic diffusion and magnetic reversal properties of Pt/Co/Pt.  相似文献

The structure and magnetic properties of CoPt–Al2O3 nanocomposite films synthesized by the annealing of Al/(Co3O4 + Pt) bilayers on a MgO(001) substrate at 650°C in vacuum are investigated. The synthesized composite films contain ferromagnetic CoPt grains with an average size of 25–45 nm enclosed in a nonconducting Al2O3 matrix. The saturation magnetization (Ms ~ 330 G) and coercivity (Hc ≈ 6 kOe) of the films are measured in the film plane and perpendicular to it. The obtained films are characterized by a spatial rotational magnetic anisotropy, which makes it possible to arbitrarily set the easy magnetization axis in the film plane or perpendicular to it using a magnetic field stronger than the coercivity (H > Hc).  相似文献

The phase relation of LaFe11.5Si1.5 alloys annealed at different high-temperature from 1223 K (5 h) to 1673 K (0.5 h) has been studied. The powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show that large amount of 1:13 phase begins to form in the matrix alloy consisting of α-Fe and LaFeSi phases when the annealing temperature is 1423 K. In the temperature range from 1423  to 1523 K, α-Fe and LaFeSi phases rapidly decrease to form 1:13 phase, and LaFeSi phase is rarely observed in the XRD pattern of LaFe11.5Si1.5 alloy annealed at 1523 K. With annealing temperature increasing from 1573  to 1673 K, the LaFeSi phase is detected again in the LaFe11.5Si1.5 alloy, and there is La5Si3 phase when the annealing temperature reaches 1673 K. There almost is no change in the XRD patterns of LaFe11.5Si1.5 alloys annealed at 1523 K for 3-5 h. According to this result, the La0.8Ce0.2Fe11.5−xCoxSi1.5 (0≤×≤0.7) alloys are annealed at 1523 K (3 h). The analysis of XRD patterns shows that La0.8Ce0.2Fe11.5xCoxSi1.5 alloys consist of the NaZn13-type main phase and α-Fe impurity phase. With the increase of Co content from x=0 to 0.7, the Curie temperature TC increases from 180 to 266 K. Because the increase of Co content can weaken the itinerant electron metamagnetic transition, the order of the magnetic transition at TC changes from first to second-order between x=0.3 and 0.5. Although the magnetic entropy change decreases from 34.9 to 6.8 J/kg K with increasing Co concentration at a low magnetic field of 0-2 T, the thermal and magnetic hysteresis loss reduces remarkably, which is very important for the magnetic refrigerant near room temperature.  相似文献

Low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) were used to study the growth and the structural evolution of Ni/Co/Pt(1 1 1) following high-temperature annealing. From the oscillation of the specular beam of the LEED and Auger uptake curve, we concluded that the growth mode of thin Ni films on 1 ML Co/Pt(1 1 1) is at least 2 ML layer-by-layer growth before three-dimensional island growth begins. The alloy formation of Ni/1 ML Co/Pt(1 1 1) was analyzed by AES. The temperature for the intermixing of Ni and Co layers in the upper interface without diffusing into the bulk of Pt is independent of the thickness of Ni when a Co buffer is one atomic monolayer. After the temperature was increased, formations of Ni-Co-Pt alloy, Ni-Pt alloy and Co-Pt alloy were observed. The temperature required for the Ni-Co intermixing layer to diffuse into Pt bulk increases with the thickness of Ni. The interlayer distance as a function of annealing temperature for 1 ML Ni/1 ML Co/Pt(1 1 1) was calculated from the I-V LEED. The evolution of LEED patterns was also observed at different annealing temperatures.  相似文献

CoPt/Ag and [C/CoPt]n/Ag thin films have been prepared onto the glass substrates by magnetron sputtering. We investigated the evolution of texture and magnetic properties of CoPt/Ag and [C/CoPt]n/Ag films. The results show that C-doping plays an important role in improving (0 0 1) texture, improving the order parameter S, reducing the intergrain interactions, and making the magnetization reversal mechanism more close to Stoner-Wolfarth rotational mechanism. The growth mechanism of (0 0 1) texture also seems to be related strongly to the films thickness. Our results show that the highly (0 0 1)-oriented films with ordered fct phase have a significant potential for the perpendicular media of extremely high-density recording.  相似文献

Thirty nanometer diameter Co-Pt nanowires of different composition were fabricated by electrodepositing the Co and Pt atoms to nanoporous anodized aluminium oxide (AAO) templates. The structure and magnetic properties are studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), induction-coupled plasma spectrometer (ICP), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The as deposited nanowires with Pt content about 50 at.% present a single ferromagnetic phase of fcc CoPt. When the Pt content of the nanowires varies from about 55 to about 75 at.%, the nanowires include a soft phase of fcc CoPt3 and a relatively hard phase of fcc CoPt and the two phases are separate as seen from the hysteresis loops. After annealing to 600 °C, the two phases coupled completely and the coupled phase has the same coercivity as the original hard one.  相似文献

The effects of high magnetic field (10 T) on the products obtained by calcination of Co-Fe LDH precursors at different temperatures were investigated. The XRD results indicated that FeIII substituted for CoIII in Co3O4 to yield CoIICoIIIFeIIIO4 under the calcination of Co-Fe LDH precursors at 400 °C. The products obtained by magnetic field annealing at 400 °C had a porous plate-like morphology, whereas the products without magnetic field annealing were composed of nanoparticles. It was seen that CoFe2O4 phase could be formed at low temperature (about 500 °C) under the magnetic field annealing. The grain size of products obtained by magnetic field annealing at 800 °C was larger than that of zero magnetic field. It was found that the saturation magnetization was significantly enhanced after magnetic field annealing, especially at lower temperature (≤600 °C). The possible reason for the effects on the microstructure and magnetic properties of products obtained by magnetic field annealing was discussed.  相似文献

Bit patterned media (BPM) which utilize each magnetic nanostructured dot as one recorded bit has attracted much interest as a promising candidate for future high-density magnetic recording. In this study, the magnetization reversal behaviors of nanostructured L10-FePt, Co/Pt multilayer (ML), and CoPt/Ru dots are investigated. For Co/Pt and CoPt/Ru nanodots, the bi-stable state is maintained in a very wide size range up to several hundred nm, and the magnetization reversal is dominated by the nucleation of a small reversed nucleus with the dimension of domain wall width. On the other hand, the critical size for the bi-stability of L10-FePt is about 60 nm, and its magnetization reversal proceeds via domain wall displacement even for such a small dot size. These reversal behaviors, depending on the magnetic materials, might be attributed to the difference in structural inhomogeneity, such as defects. In addition to the magnetic properties, the structural uniformity of the material could be crucial for the BPM application.  相似文献

The geometrical structures, electronic and magnetic properties of Con − xPtx (n=2–13,38,55n=213,38,55) alloy clusters have been systematically investigated by using the density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation (DFT–GGA). It is found that CoPt alloy clusters adopt the structures of corresponding monatomic Co clusters, where Pt atoms localize at the surface sites and tend to bond together forming a Pt exterior shell. The ferromagnetic coupling between atoms is determined in CoPt clusters, and the Co local magnetic moments can be enhanced by the increase of Pt concentration.  相似文献

We have investigated the magnetic properties of Fe38.5Pt, Fe39.5Pt and Fe50.0Pt (at%) alloys after various heat treatment conditions using a vibrating sample magnetometer, and correlated these properties with the microstructures of the alloys by transmission electron microscopy. The Fe50Pt alloy shows poor magnetic hardness regardless of the heat treatment conditions. The magnetic hardness of the Fe39.5Pt alloy shows a maximum value after annealing for 10 h at 873 K, while it monotonically decreases after annealing at 1073 K. The alloy with the highest coercivity was composed of a single phase γ1 with an average domain size of approximately 10 nm. The electron diffraction results indicate that the alloy is frustrated with accumulated stress, induced by a cubic → tetragonal transformation which occurs without twinning. On the other hand, when stress is relieved by twin formation after prolonged aging, the coercivity decreases. By annealing at 1073 K, the well known polytwin structure evolves. However, only poor hard magnetic properties are observed when this polytwin structure appears. Hence, the highest coercivity is attributed to the formation of nanoscale L10 ordered antiphase domains which is expected to be a highly anisotropic single domain magnetic particle.  相似文献

When the thickness of Ag under layer is 25 nm, the CoPt/Ag film has maximum out-of-plane squareness (S), minimum in-plane squareness (S), and the largest out-of-plane coercivity (Hc⊥), they are 0.95, 0.35, and 15 kOe, respectively. Different volume percent of SiNx ceramic materials were co-sputtered with Co50Pt50 films on the Ag under layer to reduce the grain size of the CoPt film. Comparing the X-ray diffraction pattern of CoPt-SiNx/Ag films without annealing with that of the films which annealed at 600 and 700 °C, it is found that the intensities of CoPt (0 0 1) and CoPt (0 0 2) superlattice lines were reduced after annealing. As the SiNx content is raised to 50 vol%, the particle size of CoPt is reduced to be about 9 nm.  相似文献

The effect of the crystalline quality of ultrathin Co films on perpendicular exchange bias (PEB) has been investigated using a Au/Co/Au/α-Cr2O3 thin film grown on a Ag-buffered Si(1 1 1) substrate. Our investigation is based on the effect of the Au spacer layer on the crystalline quality of the Co layer and the resultant changes in PEB. An α-Cr2O3(0 0 0 1)layer is fabricated by the thermal oxidization of a Cr(1 1 0) thin film. The structural properties of the α-Cr2O3(0 0 0 1) layer including the cross-sectional structure, lattice parameters, and valence state have been investigated. The fabricated α-Cr2O3(0 0 0 1) layer contains twin domains and has slightly smaller lattice parametersthan those of bulk-Cr2O3. The valence state of the Cr2O3(0 0 0 1) layer is similar to that of bulk Cr2O3. The ultrathin Co film directly grown on the α-Cr2O3(0 0 0 1) deposited by an e-beam evaporator is polycrystalline. The insertion of a Au spacer layer with a thickness below 0.5 nm improves the crystalline quality of Co, probably resulting in hcp-Co(0 0 0 1). Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) appears below the Néel temperature of Cr2O3 for all the investigated films. Although the PMA appears independently of the crystallinequality of Co, PEB is affected by the crystalline quality of Co. For the polycrystalline Co film, PEB is low, however, a high PEB is observed for the Co films whose in-plane atom arrangement is identical to that of Cr3+ in Cr2O3(0 0 0 1). The results are qualitatively discussed on the basis of the direct exchange coupling between Cr and Co at the interface as the dominant coupling mechanism.  相似文献
