A study of the noncommutative Schwinger model is presented. It is shown that the Schwinger mass is not modified by the noncommutativity of spacetime till the first nontrivial order in the noncommutative parameter. Instead, a higher derivative kinetic term is dynamically generated by the lowest-order vacuum polarization diagrams. We argue that in the framework of the Seiberg–Witten map the feature of non-unitarity for a field theory with spacetime noncommutativity is characterized by the presence of higher derivative kinetic terms. The θ-expanded version of a unitary theory will not generate the lowest-order higher derivative quadratic terms.  相似文献

We consider the effects of higher loop corrections to a Schwinger–Dyson equation for propagators. This is made possible by the efficiency of the methods we developed in preceding works, still using the supersymmetric Wess–Zumino model as a laboratory. We obtain the dominant contributions of the three and four-loop primitive divergences at high order in perturbation theory, without the need for their full evaluations. Our main conclusion is that the asymptotic behavior of the perturbative series of the renormalization function remains unchanged, and we conjecture that this will remain the case for all finite order corrections.  相似文献

The string model with the extrinsic curvature is studied which is a gauge invariant field theory with higher order derivatives. We present an equivalent action without any higher order derivatives which keeps the gauge invariance. We point out the difficulty caused by the second class constraints in Dirac's canonical method. Following a new method for dynamical systems with second class constraints, we construct an equivalent model which has no second class constrants but as a new gauge invariance. This gauge invariance guarantees the equivalence between the original model and the new one. We show that the model can be quantized in this formalism. We find the unitarity violation of the model.  相似文献

We investigate pattern formation in a fractional reaction–diffusion system. By the method of computer simulation of the model of excitable media with cubic nonlinearity we are able to show structure formation in the system with time and space fractional derivatives. We further compare the patterns obtained by computer simulation with those obtained by simulation of the similar system without fractional derivatives. As a result, we are able to show that nonlinearity plays the main role in structure formation and fractional derivative terms change the transient dynamics. So, when the order of time derivative increases and approaches the value of 1.5, the special structure formation switches to homogeneous oscillations. In the case of space fractional derivatives, the decrease of the order of these derivatives leads to more contrast dissipative structures. The variational principle is used to find the approximate solution of such fractional reaction–diffusion model. In addition, we provide a detailed analysis of the characteristic dissipative structures in the system under consideration.  相似文献

We consider a newD=2 nonrelativistic classical mechanics model providing via the Noether theorem the (2+1)-Galilean symmetry algebra with two central charges: massmand the coupling constantkof a Chern–Simons-like term. In this way we provide the dynamical interpretation of the second central charge of the (2+1)-dimensional Galilean algebra. We discuss also the interpretation ofkas describing the noncommutativity ofD=2 space coordinates. The model is quantized in two ways: using the Ostrogradski–Dirac formalism for higher order Lagrangians with constraints and the Faddeev–Jackiw method which describes constrained systems and produces nonstandard symplectic structures. We show that our model describes the superposition of a free motion in noncommutativeD=2 spaces as well as the “internal” oscillator modes. We add a suitably chosen class of velocity-dependent two-particle interactions, which is described by local potentials inD=2 noncommutative space. We treat, in detail, the particular case of a harmonic oscillator and describe its quantization. It appears that the indefinite metric due to the third order time derivative term in the field equations, even in the presence of interactions, can be eliminated by the imposition of a subsidiary condition.  相似文献

We compute the beta-functions of the standard model formulated on a noncommutative spacetime. If we assume that the scale for spacetime noncommutativity is of the order of 2.2×1015 GeV, we find that the three gauge couplings of the standard model merge at a scale of 2.3×1017 GeV. The proton lifetime is thus much longer than in conventional unification models.  相似文献

It is known that Berry curvature of the band structure of certain crystals can lead to effective noncommutativity between spatial coordinates. Using the techniques of twisted quantum field theory, we investigate the question of the formation of a paired state of twisted fermions in such a system. We find that to leading order in the noncommutativity parameter, the gap between the non-interacting ground state and the paired state is smaller compared to its commutative counterpart. This suggests that BCS type superconductivity, if present in such systems, is more fragile and easier to disrupt.

We present exact quantum solutions for a noncommutative, multidimensional cosmological model and show that stabilization of extra dimensions sets in with the introduction of noncommutativity between the scale factors. An interpretation is offered to accommodate the notion of time, rendering comparison with the classical solutions possible.  相似文献

A boundary-state computation is performed to obtain derivative corrections to the Chern-Simons coupling between a p-brane and the RR gauge potential C p −3. We work to quadratic order in the gauge field strength F, but all orders in derivatives. In a certain limit, which requires the presence of a constant B-field background, it is found that these corrections neatly sum up into the *2 product of (commutative) gauge fields. The result is in agreement with a recent prediction using noncommutativity.  相似文献

Topological order in two-dimensional systems is studied by combining the braid group formalism with a gauge invariance analysis. We show that flux insertions (or large gauge transformations) pertinent to the toroidal topology induce automorphisms of the braid group, giving rise to a unified algebraic structure that characterizes the ground-state subspace and fractionally charged, anyonic quasiparticles. Minimal ground-state degeneracy is derived without assuming any relation between quasiparticle charge and statistics. We also point out that noncommutativity between large gauge transformations is essential for the topological order in the fractional quantum Hall effect.  相似文献

We subject the baby Skyrme model to a Moyal deformation, for unitary or Grassmannian target spaces and without a potential term. In the Abelian case, the radial BPS configurations of the ordinary noncommutative sigma model also solve the baby Skyrme equation of motion. This gives a class of exact analytic noncommutative baby Skyrmions, which have a singular commutative limit but are stable against scaling due to the noncommutativity. We compute their energies, investigate their stability and determine the asymptotic two-Skyrmion interaction.  相似文献

We study the theoretical constraints on a model whose scalar sector contains one color octet and one or two color singlet SU(2)L doublets. To ensure unitarity of the theory, we constrain the parameters of the scalar potential for the first time at the next-to-leading order in perturbation theory. Moreover, we derive new conditions guaranteeing the stability of the potential. We employ the HEPfit package to extract viable parameter regions at the electroweak scale and test the stability of the renormalization group evolution up to the multi-Te V region. Furthermore,we set upper limits on the scalar mass splittings. All results are given for both cases with and without a second scalar color singlet.  相似文献

We calculated numerically the localization length of one-dimensional Anderson model with correlated diagonal disorder. For zero energy point in the weak disorder limit, we showed that the localization length changes continuously as the correlation of the disorder increases. We found that higher order terms of the correlation must be included into the current perturbation result in order to give the correct localization length, and to connect smoothly the anomaly at zero correlation with the perturbation result for large correlation.  相似文献

We revisit the coordinate coherent states approach through two different quantization procedures in the quantum field theory on the noncommutative Minkowski plane. The first procedure, which is based on the normal commutation relation between an annihilation and creation operators, deduces that a point mass can be described by a Gaussian function instead of the usual Dirac delta function. However, we argue this specific quantization by adopting the canonical one (based on the canonical commutation relation between a field and its conjugate momentum) and show that a point mass should still be described by the Dirac delta function, which implies that the concept of point particles is still valid when we deal with the noncommutativity by following the coordinate coherent states approach. In order to investigate the dependence on quantization procedures, we apply the two quantization procedures to the Unruh effect and Hawking radiation and find that they give rise to significantly different results. Under the first quantization procedure, the Unruh temperature and Unruh spectrum are not deformed by noncommutativity, but the Hawking temperature is deformed by noncommutativity while the radiation specturm is untack. However, under the second quantization procedure, the Unruh temperature and Hawking temperature are untack but the both spectra are modified by an effective greybody (deformed) factor.  相似文献

We construct a perturbative solution to classical noncommutative gauge theory on R3 minus the origin using the Groenewald-Moyal star product. The result describes a noncommutative point charge. Applying it to the quantum mechanics of the noncommutative hydrogen atom gives shifts in the 1S hyperfine splitting which are first order in the noncommutativity parameter.  相似文献
