A variety of experimental methods have been proposed for Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) effect. They mainly focused on the in-plane deformation. In order to achieve the high-accuracy measurement, three-dimensional digital image correlation (3D-DIC) was employed in this work to investigate the PLC effect in 5456 Al-based alloy. The temporal and spatial evolutions of deformation in the full field of specimen surface were observed. The large deformation of localized necking was determined experimentally. The distributions of out-of-plane displacement over the loading procedure were also obtained. Furthermore, a comparison of measurement accuracy between two-dimensional digital image correlation (2D-DIC) and 3D-DIC was also performed. Due to the theoretical restriction, the measurement accuracy of 2D-DIC decreases with the increase of deformation. A maximum discrepancy of about 20% with 3D-DIC was observed in this work. Therefore, 3D-DIC is actually more essential for the high-accuracy investigation of PLC effect.  相似文献

This paper investigates the transmission loss of symmetric and asymmetric laminate composite panels periodically reinforced by composite stiffeners. A comprehensive model based on periodic structure theory is developed. First order shear deformation theory is used and the coupling of the in-plane motion of the panel with its out-of-plane motion is taken into account. Stiffeners interact with the panel through three forces (two in-plane, one out-of-plane) and a torsion moment. Three types of cross sections are investigated for the composite stiffeners: I-shaped, C-shaped, and omega-shaped cross-sections. The model is validated numerically by comparison with the finite element/boundary element method. Experimental validations are also conducted. In both cases, excellent agreement is obtained. Numerical results show that the in-plane coupling effect is increased by increasing the panel thickness and the stiffener's eccentricity. The in-plane coupling effect is also found to increase with frequency.  相似文献

The effect of out-of-plane motion (including out-of-plane translation and rotation) on two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) digital image correlation measurements is demonstrated using basic theoretical pinhole image equations and experimentally through synchronized, multi-system measurements. Full-field results obtained during rigid body, out-of-plane motion using a single-camera vision system with (a-1) a standard f55mm Nikon lens and (a-2) a single Schneider–Kreuznach Xenoplan telecentric lens are compared with data obtained using a two-camera stereovision system with standard f55mm Nikon lenses. Results confirm that the theoretical equations are in excellent agreement with experimental measurements. Specifically, results show that (a) a single-camera, 2D imaging system is sensitive to out-of-plane motion, with in-plane strain errors (a-1) due to out-of-plane translation being proportional to ΔZ/Z, where Z is the distance from the object to the pin hole and ΔZ the out-of-plane translation displacement, and (a-2) due to out-of-plane rotation are shown to be a function of both rotation angle and the image distance Z; (b) the telecentric lens has an effective object distance, Zeff, that is 50× larger than the 55 mm standard lens, with a corresponding reduction in strain errors from 1250 μs/mm of out-of-plane motion to 25 μs/mm; and (c) a stereovision system measures all components of displacement without introducing measurable, full-field, strain errors, even though an object may undergo appreciable out-of-plane translation and rotation.  相似文献

An easy-to-implement yet practical single-camera microscopic stereo-digital image correlation(stereo-DIC) technique is proposed for surface three-dimensional(3D) deformation measurement of singe lap joint(SLJ) samples subjected to mechanical loads. The basic principles, optical configurations and implementation procedures of the proposed technique are described in detail. Compared with existing single-camera 2D-DIC technique, which has been regularly used for in-plane deformation measurement of a SLJ specimen, the proposed technique offers the special merit of simultaneously determining all the three displacement components by simply adding two additional optical elements to existing single-camera 2D-DIC systems. The accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed technique is demonstrated by measuring the 3D deformation of a SLJ specimen subjected to quasi-static tensile loads.  相似文献

In this paper, two sets of experimental results to extract the two effective elastic moduli, the effective shear modulus, and the effective Poisson's ratio for the gerbil cochlear partition are analyzed. In order to accomplish this, a geometrically nonlinear composite orthotropic plate model is employed. The model is used to predict both out-of-plane and in-plane motion of the partition under a static finite area distributed load. This loading condition models the small, but finite size, probe tips used in experiments. Both in-plane and out-of-plane motion are needed for comparison with recent experimental results. It is shown that the spatial decay rate (the space constant) for the in-plane deflection is different than for the out-of-plane deflection, which has a significant effect on the derived partition properties. The size of the probe tip is shown to have little influence on the results. Results are presented for two types of boundary conditions. Orthotropy ratios determined from the experimental data are found to vary with longitudinal position and choice of boundary conditions. Orthotropy ratios (the ratio of the two elastic moduli) are in the range of 65 close to the base to 10 in the upper middle turn of the cochlea.  相似文献

Three-dimensional (3D) digital image correlation (DIC) is becoming widely used to characterize the behavior of structures undergoing 3D deformations. However, the use of 3D-DIC can be challenging under certain conditions, such as high magnification, and therefore small depth of field, or a highly controlled environment with limited access for two-angled cameras. The purpose of this study is to compare 2D-DIC and 3D-DIC for the same inflation experiment and evaluate whether 2D-DIC can be used when conditions discourage the use of a stereo-vision system. A latex membrane was inflated vertically to 5.41 kPa (reference pressure), then to 7.87 kPa (deformed pressure). A two-camera stereo-vision system acquired top-down images of the membrane, while a single camera system simultaneously recorded images of the membrane in profile. 2D-DIC and 3D-DIC were used to calculate horizontal (in the membrane plane) and vertical (out of the membrane plane) displacements, and meridional strain. Under static conditions, the baseline uncertainty in horizontal displacement and strain were smaller for 3D-DIC than 2D-DIC. However, the opposite was observed for the vertical displacement, for which 2D-DIC had a smaller baseline uncertainty. The baseline absolute error in vertical displacement and strain were similar for both DIC methods, but it was larger for 2D-DIC than 3D-DIC for the horizontal displacement. Under inflation, the variability in the measurements were larger than under static conditions for both DIC methods. 2D-DIC showed a smaller variability in displacements than 3D-DIC, especially for the vertical displacement, but a similar strain uncertainty. The absolute difference in the average displacements and strain between 3D-DIC and 2D-DIC were in the range of the 3D-DIC variability. Those findings suggest that 2D-DIC might be used as an alternative to 3D-DIC to study the inflation response of materials under certain conditions.  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental analysis is carried out showing the effect of multiple exposures on fringes in the case of three-dimensional motion of a diffuse object illuminated by a diverging beam from a laser point source. Experimental conditions are such that the speckle patterns remain fully correlated in spite of the object moving in three-dimensional space in a direction that makes an angle with the optical axis. Owing to the in-plane component of the three-dimensional displacement the point of null-speckle displacement shifts either in the direction of the in-plane component of the motion or in the opposite direction depending upon the direction of the out-of-plane displacement component. This modifies the fringe profile as compared with the case of pure out-of-plane motion. The intensity distribution at the Fresnel plane of a specklegram is investigated after filtering by a converging beam for double exposure and multiple exposures. Good agreement is found between the theoretical and experimental results.  相似文献

A technique for measuring in real-time continuous out-of-plane displacements of delicate objects is proposed, and demonstrated on the tympanic membrane of Mongolian Gerbil. The technique is based on the combination of two methods: the spatial phase shifting (SPS) and the modified temporal phase unwrapping (TPU). The combination allows to obtain, in several steps, the phase values of the points that undergo out-of-plane displacement as the object is deformed. The technique reduces the frame acquisition time of the standard TPU used in moiré interferometry by a factor of 4, which is important to diminish post-mortem artifacts during in-vitro experiments and to reduce motion artifacts in in-vivo tests. The proposed technique is robust against problems associated with the temporal phase-shifting method, such as nonlinear phase shift and noise. The advantages and disadvantages are discussed.  相似文献

The determination of strain fields based on displacement components obtained via 2D-DIC is subject to several errors that originate from various sources. In this contribution, we study the impact of a non-perpendicular camera alignment to a planar sheet metal specimen's surface. The errors are estimated in a numerical experiment. To this purpose, deformed images - that were obtained by imposing finite element (FE) displacement fields on an undeformed image - are numerically rotated for various Euler angles. It is shown that a 3D-DIC stereo configuration induces a substantial compensation for the introduced image-plane displacement gradients. However, higher strain accuracy and precision are obtained - up to the level of a perfect perpendicular alignment - in a proposed “rectified” 2D-DIC setup. This compensating technique gains benefit from both 2D-DIC (single camera view, basic amount of correlation runs, no cross-camera matching nor triangulation) and 3D-DIC (oblique angle compensation). Our conclusions are validated in a real experiment on SS304.  相似文献

An improved measurement method and an automatic calibration procedure are proposed for a combined 2D Digital Image Correlation and Fringe Projection system that allows measuring in- and out-of-plane displacement maps with only one image at each deformation stage of a specimen. The proposed method increases the accuracy and range of the out-of-plane displacements by taking into account the divergences of both the projected fringes (uncollimated) and the camera (with non-zero FOV). The calibration is performed automatically by acquiring a sequence of images of a reference plane by displacing perpendicular to it the camera and fringe projector with a motorized translation stage. The acquired images are then used to obtain a fringe function for each pixel and the necessary parameters required for the correction of the in-plane displacements. Furthermore, a closed form expression is obtained that relates the out-of-plane displacements with the shifted phase at each pixel for a given experimental set-up. This expression is in good agreement with the fringe function obtained by fitting a simple 2nd order polynomial to the experimental obtained calibration data. Finally, the polynomial approach is proposed as a fringe function because it avoids the errors in the determination of the required parameters of the theoretical expression as well as some small misalignment or aberration effects.  相似文献

Methods for visualizing wavelet spectra are considered for two realizations of fractal Brownian motion. The effect of “peak aggregation” on the energy density surface of a wavelet transformation is demonstrated using the local-scale normalization method. It is proposed that an adaptive scale of level lines based on the time-averaged distribution of the energy density of the wavelet transformation be used to eliminate the undesirable effect and to refine the image.  相似文献

A simple method for determining the surface slope of a specimen under test in the high-sensitivity grating interferometry setup is proposed. The information on the derivative of out-of-plane displacement is obtained by software subtraction of two primary interferograms: a conventional one and one with diffraction orders laterally displaced in the image plane. Very good coincidence between the theoretical and experimental results has been obtained. The method can be used for studying static and transient events depending on the fringe pattern analysis method used.  相似文献

LINEAR VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS OF CABLE-BUOY SYSTEMS   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A theoretical model for the linear vibration of a cable tensioned by a subsurface buoy is developed. The equilibrium of the cable-buoy system subject to drag is evaluated using an approximate closed-form solution whose range of validity is confirmed through comparison with numerical solutions. The three-dimensional equations of cable-buoy motion are linearized about this equilibrium and then used to assess vibration characteristics. The characteristic equations for the natural frequencies of both in-plane and out-of-plane vibration modes are derived. The in-plane natural frequency spectrum exhibits the curve veering phenomena due to asymmetry of the associated mode shapes. Parameter studies reveal the dependencies of the in-plane and out-of-plane vibration modes on the cable tension, the buoy mass, and the current velocity.  相似文献

This study extends the use of holographic interferometry to measure the nanoscale out-of-plane displacement with high surface resolution. It is noted that if the deformation is less than half of the optical wavelength, it is hard to find an obvious fringe pattern. Under such a situation, in general, the phase shift method is used. However, it needs to take more than 3 images for phase shifting and phase reconstruction In this paper, a more simple hybrid method of gray-level and holographic interferometry is used to extract fringe skeletons, in which it just needs to take one or two images for the normal deformation measurement directly, even if there exists no obvious fringe pattern. The displacement field with high surface resolution can also be obtained. The proposed method yielded a theoretical precision of 0.15 nm for out-of-plane displacement with a monochromatic CCD camera of 10-bit gray scale (1024 gray scales) sensitivity and microscale surface resolution for millimeter scale object with 640×480 pixels image resolution by an He–Ne LASER (632.8 nm wavelength) light source. The gray-level method is proposed to calculate the non-obvious interferometry fringe by traditional holographic interferometry hologram, and the result showed that this method works for this purpose.  相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical and experimental study of the in-plane and out-of-plane coupling of a matched piezoelectric sensor/actuator pair bonded on a beam. Both the sensor and actuator are triangularly shaped polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) transducers and are intended to provide a compact sensor/actuator system for beam vibration control. The measured sensor-actuator frequency response function has shown an unpredicted increase in magnitude with frequency, which was found, to be due to in-plane vibration coupling. An analytical model has been developed to decompose the sensor-actuator response function into an in-plane contribution and an out-of-plane contribution. This in-plane coupling can limit the feedback control gains when a direct velocity feedback control is applied. A method called the j omega s compensation method is proposed to identify the effect of the in-plane vibration coupling at low frequencies. Even after this compensation, however, there was unexpected strong out-of-plane coupling at even modes, which may have been caused by a lack of accuracy in the shaping of the PVDF sensor and actuator. Numerical simulations have confirmed the sensitivity of the matched sensor/actuator pair with shaping errors.  相似文献

When the swath of Synthetic Aperture Sonar(SAS) is considerably wide, the spacevariant effect of motion errors becomes remarkable. This space-variant effect makes Displace Phase Center Algorithm(DPCA) invalid. To solve the problem, a motion compensation method for wide-swath SAS is proposed. This method uses mixed modulated Lagrange explicit time delay estimation(MMLETDE) to estimate the time delay between two successive pings of the raw echo data, and then motion errors are fitted by linear regression. After that, the raw echo data can be precisely compensated point by point with the estimations of motion errors.Simulation results show that the proposed method can obtain better motion estimation results than DPCA. The resolution measured on the reconstructed image processed by the proposed method is very close to the theoretical resolution. The lake trail results of high frequency and low frequency SAS data show that the quality of the images of the terrain area and small targets is significantly improved.  相似文献

This paper discusses theoretical and experimental investigations of vibrations of an autoparametric system composed of two beams with rectangular cross sections. Different flexibilities in the two orthogonal directions are the specific features of the structure. Differential equations of motion and associated boundary conditions, up to third-order approximation, are derived by application of the Hamilton principle of least action. Experimental response of the system, tuned for the 1:4 internal resonance condition, are performed for random and harmonic excitations. The most important vibration modes are extracted from a real mechanical system. It is shown that certain modes in the stiff and flexible directions of both beams may interact, and, intuitively unexpected out-of-plane motion may appear. Preliminary numerical calculations, based on the mathematical model, are also presented.  相似文献

The simplified computational models of high-voltage transmission tower-line system under out-of-plane and in-plane vibrations are presented due to seismic excitations in this paper. The equations of motion are derived and the computer program is compiled to obtain the earthquake responses of the coupled system. To verify the rationality of the proposed approaches, the shaking-table experiments of the coupled system of transmission lines and their supporting towers are carried out and the results indicate that the errors of theoretical and testing results of systemic seismic responses are within the acceptable arrange in engineering area. Based on these studies, a simplified analysis method is proposed to make the seismic response calculation of coupled tower-conductor system faster and more effective.  相似文献

A stroboscopic Mirau microscopic interferometer system for measuring in-plane and out-of-plane periodic motions of microstructures is demonstrated. One full cycle of a periodic motion is divided into a number of motion phases. One sequence of interferograms with different phase shifting steps is collected at every motion phase by using stroboscopic imaging. A bright-field image can be extracted from one sequence of interferograms with the same motion phase. In-plane displacements are measured by applying an image matching method to all bright-field images, followed by a compensation for the relative positions of interferograms at the different motion phases, before calculating the phase distribution related to out-of-plane deformation. We demonstrate its capability for measuring a combination of out-of-plane deformation and in-plane displacement in a microresonator.  相似文献
