In this paper the propagation of elegant Hermite-cosh-Gaussian, elegant Laguerre Gaussian, and Bessel Gaussian beams through a Kerr left-handed metamaterial(LHM) slab have been studied. A split-step Fourier method is used to investigate the propagation of laser beams through this media. Numerical simulation shows that Gaussian beams have different focusing behaviors in a Kerr LHM slab with positive or negative nonlinearity. Beam focusing happens in slabs with positive nonlinearity and not in slabs with negative nonlinearity; however, negative nonlinearity is required for a Kerr LHM slab to act like a lens. Additionally, the focusing properties of beams can be controlled by controlling the thickness of the slab or the input power of the incident beam. A multilayer structure is also proposed to have beam focusing by thinner slabs and passing longer distances.  相似文献

 为寻找捕获瑞利粒子的最佳光场,利用电磁模型推导了贝塞尔光束捕获粒子的最小半径的表达式,并数值计算了瑞利粒子在贝塞尔光束和高斯光束中所受的横向力和势阱的深度。结果表明:当激光功率为4 W时,贝塞尔光束仅能在光轴处稳定地捕获瑞利粒子;当激光功率达到6 W时,贝塞尔光束能够在光轴和次极大位置捕获瑞利粒子。在相同的激光参数条件下,高斯光束无法克服布朗运动的影响稳定地捕获瑞利粒子,贝塞尔光束更有利于捕获瑞利粒子。  相似文献

Specific features of the acousto-optic diffraction of Bessel light beams propagating in the vicinity of the optical axis of a uniaxial gyrotropic crystal have been investigated. The dependences of the diffraction efficiency on the acousto-optic interaction length, ultrasound power, and polarization state of the incident Bessel light beam have been analyzed using the coupled-wave equations and the overlap-integral method. It is shown that polarization-independent diffraction of Bessel light beams is observed in paratellurite crystals, when the Bragg diffraction efficiency is independent of the polarization state of the incident beam. The physical reason for this diffraction has been established (both theoretically and experimentally) to be simultaneous implementation of two processes of anisotropic scattering, at which the Bragg synchronism conditions are satisfied for orthogonal polarized Bessel beams with elliptical polarization.  相似文献

The direct acceleration of electrons by using two crossed linearly polarized Bessel beams with equal frequency and amplitude in vacuum is studied and compared with the case of single linearly polarized Bessel beam. It is found that two zeroth- and first-order Bessel beams with π-rad phase difference have a nonvanishing longitudinal electric field on the z-axis, which can be maximized under certain conditions and used to accelerate electrons. Two crossed zeroth- and first-order Bessel beams have a larger maximum longitudinal electric field on the z-axis than that of a single first-order Bessel beam, and are suited for laser electron acceleration.  相似文献

Based on the matrix method, a theory of propagation of TE- and TH-polarized Bessel light beams (BLBs) in a one-dimensional photonic crystal (1DPC) is developed. The transmission through a 1DPC (with and without a defect impurity) of a quasi-circularly-polarized incident Bessel beam generated by an axicon from a circularly-polarized Gaussian beam has been calculated and analyzed. Also a solution of the problem on the transmission of BLBs through crystalline plate (layer of a uniaxial crystal with the orientation of the optical axis orthogonally to its interfaces) and reflection from it has been presented.Based on this, a new method of formation of TE- and TH-polarized Bessel light beams has been proposed. It has been shown that it is possible to control this process by changing the cone angle of an incident Bessel light beam. The effect of generation of a coherent superposition of two Bessel beams with different cone angles in the case of a high birefringence of defect layer has been predicted theoretically.  相似文献

针对理论上推导轴锥镜的衍射光场分布解析式较为困难,且用菲涅耳衍射理论分析时存在近轴近似及不能适用于近场衍射光场分析的问题,采用了严格遵从标量衍射亥姆霍兹方程的角谱衍射波前重建方法,对轴锥镜在单色和准单色高斯光波照射下的横向和轴向衍射光强分布特性,以及在单色均匀平面光波照射下的轴向衍射光强分布进行了数值计算和分析。结果表明,轴锥镜后单色光衍射光强分布在几何光束重叠的菱形区域内为近似无衍射贝塞尔光强分布,轴上光强沿光轴方向呈振荡变化,轴上光强分布规律与入射光波的垂轴横向光强分布有关;入射光的准单色性使得贝塞尔衍射条纹对比度略下降、轴上光强沿光轴方向振荡程度减小,但分布规律与单色光一致。  相似文献

Properties of vortex light beams produced by a diffraction grating with groove bifurcation (“fork” structure) are studied in the case of small diffraction angles. Analytical expressions are derived for the amplitude distribution of a diffracted beam generated from an incident Gaussian beam with arbitrary radius and wavefront curvature, transversely shifted and inclined with respect to the nominal axis (normal to the grating crossing it at the bifurcation point). In such situations, the output beam becomes asymmetric; the optical vortex core and the intensity maximum displace orthogonally to the incident beam shift direction. The nearest vicinity of the vortex core preserves its circular symmetry and the optical vortex remains locally isotropic. The effects of misalignment depend on the incident beam characteristics, the diffraction order and the propagation distance behind the grating. Experimental measurements support the results of calculations.  相似文献

We have presented an investigation of the induced focusing in Kerr media of two laser beams, the pump beam and the probe beam, which could be either Gaussian or elliptic Gaussian or a combination of the two. We have used variational formalism to derive relevant beam-width equations. Among several important findings, the finding that a very week probe beam can be guided and focused when power of both beams are well below their individual threshold for self-focusing, is a noteworthy one. It has been found that induced focusing is not possible for laser beams of any wavelength and beam radius. In case both beams are elliptic Gaussian, we have shown that when power of both beams is above a certain threshold value then the effective radius of both beams collapses and collapse distance depends on power. Moreover, it has been found that induced focusing can be employed to convert a circular Gaussian beam into an elliptic Gaussian beam.  相似文献

The possibility of the formation of zero-order Bessel light beams using a uniaxial crystal with cylindrical electrodes is investigated. It is shown that, if a given polarization distribution is provided in the incident beam, a Bessel light beam with the cone angle controlled by an external electric field is formed. It is proposed to use this result for the matching of the axicon parameters and creation of conical lenses with an adjustable cone angle.  相似文献

A high power electromagnetic Gaussian beam is assumed to be incident on the F region ionosphere, which causes modification in the plasma temperature and density. Subsequently the evolution of a second Gaussian em beam in such modified F region inosphere has been studied numerically. The numerical calculations are carried out in a two dimensional grid space which covers a region of 80 km horizontally and 100 km vertically. It is seen that the second wave propagating through the modified plasma gets focused in the axial regions and gets filamented near its peak intensity point. Consequently the plasma gets irregularly structured and the resulting fluctuations in plasma temperature and density give rise to a pressure gradient force. This force inturn causes the formation of more number of filamentary structures about the axis in wave intensity and also amplifies the initially formed ones.  相似文献

We use a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) to produce arrays of Bessel beams by using multiple axicon phase-masks on the SLM. This approach utilises the whole of the SLM, rather than just a thin annular region (which is the case if the SLM is in the far-field of the generated Bessel beams). Using the whole SLM rather than just an annular region means that the required intensity on the SLM is an order of magnitude lower for a given power in the Bessel beams. Spreading the power over the whole SLM is important for high-power applications such as laser micromachining. We allow the axicons to overlap and interfere in the hologram, so the axial length of the Bessel beam core is maintained as we add more beams to the array.  相似文献

基于相干合成技术,提出了对特定离散空间分布的高斯光束阵列加载离散涡旋相位生成二阶贝塞尔-高斯(Bessel-Gaussian,BG)涡旋光束的方案.利用干涉法、桶中功率和相关系数对合成BG涡旋光束的拓扑荷、光束质量进行了定量评价及参数优化.结果表明:基于相干合成技术能够产生特定的目标BG涡旋光束,阵列子光束紧密排布时合成BG光束的光束质量更高.该方法的提出对于其他涡旋光束的产生或者涡旋光束功率的提高具有一定的参考意义.  相似文献

Based on the process of the Fresnel diffraction, the possibility of generating a new type of laser beams family by illuminating a curved fork-shaped hologram, with an input hypergeometric-Gaussian beams family of orders n and m is studied in this paper. The theoretical and the numerical results showed that, at the output plane, a high order spiraling Bessel vortex beam is produced. This vortex beam is divergence or non-divergence depending upon the waist position of the input hypergeometric-Gaussian beams, regarding the plane where the curved fork-shaped hologram is situated. Analytical expressions of the amplitude and the intensity distribution of the diffracted wave field are calculated and deduced using the stationary phase method. The actual work generalizes also the Fresnel diffraction study of some subfamilies of the hypergeometric-Gaussian beams family, such as: fundamental Gaussian, hollow Gaussian, modified quadratic Bessel–Gaussian and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams.  相似文献

基于菲涅耳衍射积分理论和巴比涅原理,推导出像散Bessel光束经圆形障碍物后的光强分布一般表达式.数值模拟了像散Bessel光束经圆形障碍物遮挡后光场的自重建过程,并设计相关实验进行验证,实验结果与理论模拟基本符合.结果表明:零阶像散Bessel光束经过轴上和离轴障碍物后均会发生光束重建现象.随着传输距离的增加,像散Bessel光束的外轮廓尺寸变大、中心光点阵列数增多,逐渐重建出不同于障碍物前的完整光束.并且观察到光束在重建过程中横向和纵向的重建速度并不一致,存在一定的速度差.利用螺旋相位板产生高阶像散Bessel光束,验证了高阶像散Bessel光束经障碍物遮挡后同样具有自重建特性.研究结果对像散Bessel光束在多层面粒子操纵方面的应用具有参考价值.  相似文献

实验研究宽频带脉冲光束通过非线性介质时的非线性热像的形成过程,揭示了光束入射功率和脉冲宽度、介质厚度等因素对热像光强和位置的影响. 结果表明,与单纵模激光束一样,在宽频带脉冲光束情形下,非线性介质上游元件的模糊斑调制也可导致在下游共轭位置形成热像. 热像光强随入射光束功率的增加而增加;若脉冲能量一定,则热像光强随脉冲宽度的增加而减弱;若脉冲峰值功率一定,则热像光强随脉冲宽度的增加而增强. 关键词: 高功率激光 热像 宽带光束 小尺度自聚焦  相似文献

The axial and transverse radiation forces on a fluid sphere placed arbitrarily in the acoustical field of Bessel beams of standing waves are evaluated. The three-dimensional components of the time-averaged force are expressed in terms of the beam-shape coefficients of the incident field and the scattering coefficients of the fluid sphere using a partial-wave expansion (PWE) method. Examples are chosen for which the standing wave field is composed of either a zero-order (non-vortex) Bessel beam, or a first-order Bessel vortex beam. It is shown here, that both transverse and axial forces can push or pull the fluid sphere to an equilibrium position depending on the chosen size parameter ka   (where kk is the wave-number and aa the sphere’s radius). The corresponding results are of particular importance in biophysical applications for the design of lab-on-chip devices operating with Bessel beams standing wave tweezers. Moreover, potential investigations in acoustic levitation and related applications in particle rotation in a vortex beam may benefit from the results of this study.  相似文献

As an extension of our previous study, the area scintillation aspects of Bessel Gaussian and modified Bessel Gaussian beams of zeroth order are investigated. The analysis is carried out on the basis of equal source sizes and equal source powers. It is found that, when compared on equal source size basis, modified Bessel Gaussian beams always have less area scintillations than a Gaussian beam, while Bessel Gaussian beams exhibit more area scintillations. Comparison on equal source power basis, however, removes the advantage of modified Bessel Gaussian beams, that is, their area scintillations become nearly the same as those of the Gaussian beam. On the other hand, for the case of equal source powers, Bessel Gaussian beams with larger width parameters continue to have higher area scintillations than the Gaussian beam. We provide graphical illustrations for profiles of equal source size beams, equal source power beams and the curves to aid the selection of equal source power beams.  相似文献

A study is made of the effect of the magnetic self-field of a relativistic electron beam propagating in the ion focus regime on the transverse dynamics of plasma electrons. For Gaussian radial profiles of the beam and the ion density in the channel, the maximum deviation of the plasma electrons from the axis of the beam-plasma system is determined as a function of the space-charge neutralization fraction, the ratio of the characteristic beam radius to the channel radius, and the net beam current.  相似文献

The amplitude of the gradient force acting on a transparent spherical particle in the field of a zero-order Bessel beam has been calculated in the Rayleigh–Gans approximation. The expression obtained for the gradient-force amplitude takes into account the heterogeneity of the acting radiation in the volume of the particle. The optimal conditions of trapping and transportation of the particle (parameters of the particle, liquid, and of the Bessel beam) to the localization region have been determined using the solution of the kinetic equation of particle motion in a liquid. It is shown that for certain relationships between the particle radius and the Bessel beam width the localization region is shifted relative to the central maximum of the beam. This is due to the equal action of the gradient forces caused by the central maximum and the first interference ring of the Bessel beam. A qualitative comparison of the results obtained with the known experimental data has been performed.  相似文献

We propose a new method for transformation of a Laguerre-Gaussian beam of azimuthal index l and radial index n = 0 (LGl,0) into a vortex, diverging or nondiverging Bessel beam, which can have increased or decreased phase singularity order, or into a zeroth order Bessel beam, by means of a helical axicon. The Bessel beam divergence or nondivergence depends upon the waist position of the input Laguerre-Gaussian beam, regarding the plane where the helical axicon is situated.The expressions for the amplitude and the intensity distribution of the diffracted wave field, in the process of Fresnel diffraction, are deduced using the stationary phase method. The theoretical analysis for the vortex radius and the maximum propagation distance of the Bessel beams obtained is presented.  相似文献
