Happy New Year! As many of you are aware that Chinese science is at the crucial stage of development. We are now seeing more and more high quality works being produced by Chinese scientists working in China. However, high quality scientific works are rarely published in Chinese scientific journals so far. Therefore, the development of scientific journals publishing in China now becomes a more and more important indication of the science development in China. In the development of the chemical physics research field in China, the Chinese Journal of Chemical Physics (CJCP) has made significant contributions in the past 18 years. Since CJCP is primarily a Journal published in Chinese previously, its impact in the international scientific community has been quite limited. At this moment, we believe CJCP should increase its impact in the international community. We believe that making CJCP an English journal is a crucial step to increase its in°uence internationally. Therefore, upon the recommendation of senior editorial members, we now change CJCP into an full English journal from this issue on. We have also formed a high quality editorial board to help the editorial matters in CJCP, and a prestigious advisory board to advise us of the future development. I am very honored to be selected as the new Editor-in-Chief for the next four years. I hope by the end of my term, the impact of this journal is significantly improved through the efforts of our editorial team. Building a high quality scientific journal is not an easy task. I hope that every member of our chemical physics community can provide strong support to this journal by sending your high quality research papers in the future. We are also thinking about adding new sections of this journal to attract more readers. With the support of our community, I am confident that we can make this journal a more successful one. Here, I want to take this opportunity to thank the great leadership provided by the Editor-in-Chief since the foundation of this journal, Professor Nan-quan Lou, who has just become a senior advisory board member of this journal. I also want to thank the senior associate editor, Prof. Shu-qin Yu, who has made great contributions to the development of CJCP. Many thanks also go to the other senior associate editors, Profs. Die-yan Chen, Hai-lung Dai, Xing-xiao Ma, Han-qing Wang, Hou-wen Xin, Cun-hao Zhang and Qi-he Zhu, who have made important contributions to CJCP in the past 18 years. We plan that CJCP will soon become available online so that members of our community can access this journal easily through internet. This will also help us to provide greater visibility of this journal in the international research community. Xue-ming Yang Editor-in-Chief February 12, 2006  相似文献

We demonstrate that the new hierarchy of integrable lattice equations in Chin. Phys. B 21 090202(2012) can be changed into the integrable lattice hierarchy in Chin. Phys. B 13 1009(2004) by using a very simple transformation.  相似文献

With this volume The European Physical Journal D (EPJ D) continues its tradition of publishing a selection of papers drawn from the bi-annual main conference in the field of cluster physics. The readers should be aware that this is not a conference proceeding in the normal sense of the word, i.e. it is not a collection of all posters and papers presented at this conference. Rather, the guest-editors for this volume of EPJ D have selected only such papers from this conference which comply with the normal high quality standards of a refereed international scientific journal -- in terms of novelty, soundness and scientific quality. The guest-editors have made sure that all papers have been subject to a standard refereeing process which ensures these high standards as expected by the readers of EPJ D. We trust that the specific collection of papers published in this volume will contribute to the future attractiveness of EPJ D especially in the ever growing field of cluster physics.  相似文献

Happy New Year! Happy New Year again! This year is very special for CJCP since it is the 20th anniversary. We have seen a tremendousdevelopment in the field of chemical physics in China in the last 20 years. CJCP has always been there in this important period of development in Chinese science, and CJCP has made significant and important contributions to the development of the chemical physics research field in China. And we certainly will continue to do so in the future. In the beginning of last year, we changed the journal into a full English journal in an effort to enhance the journal impact in the international scientific community. In this transition period, CJCP has encountered many difficulties, and we have also made great progresses. We deeply believe that making CJCP a full English journal is an important step to increase its influence in the international research community. We hope this is the moment of a new start for the great tradition of CJCP to serve the Chinese chemical physics and physical chemistry community, and beyond. Now, our new web based editorial and review system is in place, we hope CJCP will serve our community in a more efficient and direct way (Website: http://cjcp.ustc.edu.cn). With the support of the chemical physics and physical chemistry community, I am confident that this journal will make more significant contributions to the development of the chemical physics researchfield. At this 20th anniversary of CJCP, I want to take this special opportunity to thank many people who have lead this journal through difficulties and triumphs in the most part of the last 20 years, especially the former Editor-in-Chief, Professor Nanquan Lou, and the former senior associate editor, Prof. Shuqin Yu. And I also want to thank the editorial staff members who have made great efforts in producing a high quality scientific journal. At last, I hope everybody who cares about the Chinese chemical physics development will support our effort to make this journal better. Xue-ming Yang Editor-in-Chief February 12, 2007  相似文献

The Spring Meetings of the German Physical Society have long been an essential forum for physicists in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. These conferences, held at different universities, provide a lively and unique atmosphere for young researchers, in particular, in which to present their most recent results to a broad audience, establish new contacts and discuss future projects. This special issue of Applied Physics B – Lasers and Optics – features selected papers presented at the 1997 Spring Meeting of the Quantum Optics Section, held at the University of Mainz. Clearly, a selection of articles cannot provide exhaustive coverage of the scientific program of a conference. Nevertheless, the reader will hopefully get an impression of the broad range of the discussed topics, maybe even of the international spirit. The board of editors of the journal as well as the guest editors have planned this special issue as the beginning of a trend to highlight top-quality modern research presented at future meetings of the Quantum Optics Section by publication in Applied Physics B – Lasers and Optics.  相似文献

A long-term pattern of the Czechoslovak Journal of Physics in terms of size, major subfields breakdown, multiple authorship, contributors' productivity and citation structure is presented. Selected features are compared with primary Czechoslovak mathematical and chemical journals over an 18 years period, the coverage of Physics Abstracts for 1961, 1965 and 1969, as well as 50 physics journals in 20 countries. Additional information is offered on the incidence of multiple authorship with respect to different physics domains, subjects and publication rates as provided by an examination of 25 000 physics papers issued in 1969, and on the output of physics publications measured relatively to gross national product.  相似文献

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief, in accordance with our policy on publishing ethics.

The article is largely a duplicate publication of a paper already published by the same authors in Physical Review Special Topics –Accelerators and Beams as "High power test of an injector linac for heavy ion cancer therapy facilities" (Phys. Rev. ST Accel. Beams 18, 111002, DOI 10.1103/PhysRevSTAB.18.111002). The main results and much of the text are identical. The lead author, Dr Liang Lu, submitted this article to Chinese Physics C while the Phys. Rev. ST Accel. Beams article was still in the peer review process. Each journal then accepted the respective submissions, with the article published in Phys. Rev. ST Accel. Beams before Chinese Physics C. During submission, authors explicitly declare that the work is original and is not published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. This publication is therefore a serious breach of scientific publishing ethics. The Editorial Board of Chinese Physics C treats such matters extremely seriously, and hereby retracts this article.
Dr Liang Lu takes full responsibility for this matter, and apologises for his behaviour. The Editors apologise to our readers that this was not detected earlier in the publication process.

In recent years The Institute of Physics and The Physical Society has given very valuable support to the organization of large international conferences on several branches of physics: e.g. it did so in the case of the International Conference on Magnetism held in Nottingham in September 1964, when nearly 600 participants attended; the papers a t this Conference were duly refereed and published as a large bound volume in association with The Proceedings of the Physical Society. Now, it is not always desirable or expedient to hold such large conferences more than about once in every three years. Nevertheless, there are certain specialized fields of research in magnetism—as indeed there are in many other branches of physics—where the rate of advance of knowledge is such that i t is well worth while to organize smaller conferences with lesser numbers of participants but with a global distribution of the latter. To this need the I.P.P.S. has responded, and the Conference Booklet No. 1 contains the proceedings of the International Conference on High Magnetic Fields and their Applications, organized jointly by its Solid-state Physics Sub-Committee and its Magnetism Group, under the chairmanship of Professor N. Kurti, for 120 participants a t Nottingham, from 17th to 19th September 1969, with the valued support of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics.  相似文献

Estimating size and scatter of world physics journal literature   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Conclusions The foregoing analysis assumes the whole of physics journal literature to follow a Bradford distribution. However, figure 1, as well as other published Bradford plots of physics literature, show similar Groos droop deviations from linearity at the upper end [13, 14]. The common explanation for this deviation is incompleteness of the bibliographic data [5], but this of course cannot be proven without compiling a truly complete world bibliography on the subject. If the droop is real, i.e. not the consequence of bibliographic incompleteness, then the estimates of journals and papers are exaggerated. On the other hand, another assumption is that the first 110 ranked journals in this study are indeed the top producing physics journals, and that all source items published in these journals are actually physics papers. The extent to which this assumption does not hold means a decrease in the estimates, thereby opposing the first possible error. The fact that the actual number of papers published by the journal of first rank exceeds B, the theoretical number derived from analysis, suggests an underestimate of total journals and papers. This supports the assumption that any deviation from the Bradford distribution is minimal and that the Groos droop is a consequence of bibliographic incompleteness. It cannot be assumed that the highest quality literature is concentrated in the higher Bradford ranks. There may be a relationship between quality and scatter, as earlier work has suggested [9], but this is a matter for further investigation. It is clear that frequency-rank distributions such as Bradford's Law have more potential for scientific information management than has been so far exploited.  相似文献
