We simulate the response of a modified Anderson-Braun rem counter in the energy range from thermal energy to about 10 GeV using the FLUKA code.Also,we simulate the lethargy spectrum of CSNS outside the beam dump.Traditional BFs tube is replaced by the 3He tube,a layer of 0.6 cm lead is added outside the boron doped plastic attenuator and a sphere configuration is adopted.The simulation result shows that its response is exactly fit to H*(10) in the neutron energies between 10 keV and approximately 1 GeV,although the monitor slightly underestimates H*(10) in the energy range from thermal energy to about 10 keV.According to the characteristics of the CSNS,this modified counter increases the neutron energy response by 30% compared with the traditional monitors,and it can be applied in other kinds of stray field rich of high energy neutrons.  相似文献

A gas sampling Em Shower counter of the lead-SQS tube sandwich type was constructed and tested. The Shower counter uses Aluminium tubes and anode readout. Energy resolution σ/E is 15.5% at Ee=1GeV. Range of the energy response linearity is 0—2GeV. This paper describes the beam test and the performance studied under various conditions.  相似文献

In the simplest little Higgs model (SLH), we study the spin correlations in the top quark pair production at the LHC and ILC. We find that the SLH always suppresses the tt spin correlations compared to the SM values. At the LHC, the suppression can be over 10% for mZ' < 750 GeV. The SLH prediction value is outside the 1σ range of the experimental data from ATLAS, and within 1σ range of the experimental data from CMS. At the ILC, the SLH can sizably suppress the tt spin correlation for mZ' approaching the center-of-mass energy √s. For example, the maximal suppression can reach -22.5%, -14.5%, and -9.5% for √s=500 GeV, 800 GeV, and 1000 GeV, respectively. Therefore, the tt spin correlation at the ILC can be a sensitive probe for the SLH.  相似文献

The spallation cross-section data for the long-lived fission products(LLFPs) are scarce but required for the design of accelerator driven systems. In this paper, the isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics model and the statistical code GEMINI are applied to simulate deuteron-induced spallation in the energy region of GeV/nucleon. By comparing the calculations with the experimental data, the applicability of the model is verified. The model is then applied to simulate the spallation of 90 Sr, 93 Zr, 107 Pd, and 137 Cs induced by deuterons at 200, 500 and 1000 MeV/nucleon. The cross-sections of isotopes, the cross-sections of long-lived nuclei, and the reaction energy are presented.Using the above observables, the feasibility of LLFP transmutation by spallation is discussed.  相似文献

Modification of parton fragmentation functions by multiple scattering and gluon bremsstrahlung in nuclear media is shown to describe very well the recent HERMES data in deeply inelastic scattering, giving the first evidence of the A(2/3) dependence of the modification. The energy loss is found to be approximately 0.5 GeV/fm for a 10-GeV quark in an Au nucleus. Including the effect of expansion, analysis of the pi(0) spectra in central Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s]=130 GeV yields an averaged energy loss equivalent to approximately 7.3 GeV/fm in a static medium. Predictions for central Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s]=200 GeV are also given.  相似文献

A Monte Carlo generator has been constructed to simulate the reaction , where the photon is assumed to be observed in the detector. Only initial state radiation is considered. Additional collinear photon radiation has been incorporated with the technique of structure functions. Predictions are presented for CMS energies of 1 GeV, 3 GeV and 10 GeV, corresponding to the energies of DANE, BEBC and of B-meson factories. The event rates are sufficiently high to allow for a precise measurement of in the region of Q between approximately 1 GeV and 2.5 GeV. For the construction of the program we employ isospin relations between the amplitudes governing decays into four pions and electron positron annihilation into four pions. Estimates of the kinematic breaking of these isospin relations as a consequence of the – mass difference are given. The GeV photon beam at SPring-8 is produced by backward-Compton scattering of laser photons from 8 GeV electrons. The maximum energy of the photon will be above 3 GeV, and the beam intensity will be 107 photons/sec. Polarization of the photon beam will be 100 % at the maximum energy with fully polarized laser photons. We report the outline of the quark nuclear physics project with this high-quality high-intensity beam.  相似文献

Hadron production in lepton-nucleus deep inelastic scattering is studied in a quark energy loss model. The leading-order computations for hadron multiplicity ratios are presented and compared with the selected HERMES pions production data with the quark hadronization occurring outside the nucleus by means of the hadron formation time. It is found that the obtained energy loss per unit length is 0.440 ± 0.013 GeV/fm for an outgoing quark by the global fit. It is confirmed that the atomic mass number dependence of hadron attenuation is theoretically and experimentally in good agreement with the A2/3 power law for quark hadronization occurring outside the nucleus.  相似文献

以带通平响应为优化目标,通过残余响应、带外残余响应相对误差以及残余响应平整度3个参数来优化滤片的厚度,设计了一套共有7个能量通道、连续覆盖18~88keV能谱范围的Ross滤片谱仪。该谱仪能量通道宽度在2~20keV之间。多数能量通道的带外残余响应相对误差低于10%,残余响应平整度优于20%。将该谱仪应用于微聚焦X光机上的高Z金属球壳高能X射线背光照相实验,结果表明:在不同的实验条件下,Ross滤片谱仪测得的能谱形状与理论模型给出的结果符合较好,测得的能谱不仅能够很好地解释背光照相图像,而且可用于根据图像反推客体的面密度。  相似文献

A simple method has been proposed for testing hadron interaction models, which are used to simulate extensive air showers, in observed spectra of atmospheric muons. It has been shown that muon flux intensities in the energy range of 102–104 GeV that are calculated within the SIBYLL 2.1, QGSJETII-04, and QGSJET01 models exceed the data of the classical experiments L3 + Cosmic, MACRO, and LVD on the spectra of atmospheric muons by a factor of 1.5–2. It has been concluded that these tested models overestimate the generation of secondary particles with the highest energies in elementary events of interaction between hadrons in agreement with the LHCf and TOTEM accelerator experiments.  相似文献

We study high energy proton-proton elastic scattering in the framework of Pomeron exchange model. The cross section of the process are calculated without any free parameters. Our finding is that Pomeron exchange theory gives perfect fits to total cross section at the energy of√s higher than 10 GeV and to differential cross section at the momentum transfer [t] less than 1.5 GeV2. For total cross section at lower energy √s < 10 GeV and differential cross section at larger momentum transfer region of |t| > 1.5 GeV2, the Pomeron exchange theory needs to be improved.  相似文献

We consider the possibility that the dark energy responsible for inflation is deposited into extra dimensions outside of our observable Universe. Reheating and all matter can then be obtained from the minimal supersymmetric standard model flat direction condensate involving the Higgs bosons Hu and Hd, which acquires large amplitude by virtue of quantum fluctuations during inflation. The reheat temperature is TRH < or = 10(9) GeV so that there is no gravitino problem. We find a spectral index ns 1 with a very weak dependence on the Higgs potential.  相似文献

The shower shape of n,n,p,p,K+,π+ and photons,generated by JPCIAE code for 5.5 TeV/A 208Pb+208Pb collisions,incident on the ALICE photon spectrometer(PHOS),is analyzed with the principal component analysis(PCA) method.The efficiency dependence of purity for the photon discrimination is simulated for the deposited energy ranges 0.5-2 GeV,2-10 GeV,10-50 GeV and 50-100 GeV.The result shows that in the energy range of 0.5 to 100 GeV,the efficiency of the photon identification can reach 90% with purity of 90%.  相似文献

The energy and angular resolution of a liquid xenon calorimeter for gamma rays in the GeV region is studied by a Monte-Carlo simulation. For a size of (70 cm)3, the energy resolution becomes as good as 0.2 % (r.m.s) at 10 GeV. The angular resolution is order of 1° (median angle) at several GeV without using the pair converter separated from the main body of the calorimeter. An effective SΩ of 1 m2sr is attainable. These factors meet the conditions required for observation of line gamma rays emerging from the annihilation of a sort of hypothetical dark matter.  相似文献

The transverse momentum spectra of charged pions, kaons, and protons produced at mid-rapidity in central nucleus–nucleus (AA) collisions at high energies are analyzed by considering particles to be created from two participant partons, which are assumed to be contributors from the collision system. Each participant (contributor) parton is assumed to contribute to the transverse momentum by a Tsallis-like function. The contributions of the two participant partons are regarded as the two components of transverse momentum of the identified particle. The experimental data measured in high-energy AA collisions by international collaborations are studied. The excitation functions of kinetic freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity are extracted. The two parameters increase quickly from ≈3 to ≈10 GeV (exactly from 2.7 to 7.7 GeV) and then slowly at above 10 GeV with the increase of collision energy. In particular, there is a plateau from near 10 GeV to 200 GeV in the excitation function of kinetic freeze-out temperature.  相似文献

We present a precise BABAR measurement on the cross section of the process e+e-→π+π-(γ) from threshold to an energy of 3 GeV with the initial state radiation(ISR) technique,using 232 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at e+e-center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV.The ISR luminosity is determined from a study of the leptonic process e+e-→μ+μ-γ(γ).The leading-order hadronic contribution to the muon magnetic anomaly calculated using the ππ cross section measured from threshold to 1.8 GeV is(514.1±2.2(stat)±3.1(syst))×10-10.  相似文献

We have utilized a 2+1 dimensional numerical code based on Flux Corrected Transport method to find a solution for 3+1 dimensional cylindrically symmetric hydrodynamic flow of hadronic matter which is assumed to be formed in extremely high energy heavy ion collisions. The hydrodynamics is supplemented with a decoupling calculation in order to produce measurable particle distributions. This numerical procedure is applied here to Landau type initial conditions which have been fixed using a simple geometrical picture for a central O+Pb collision at 200 GeV/nucleon. The bag equation of state for nonbaryonic matter is used to simulate the deconfinement phase transition to quark gluon plasma. The resulting pseudorapidity distributions of transverse energy for the final massless pions are calculated.  相似文献
