The field equations of general relativity are solved to post-Newtonian order for a rotating frame of reference. A new method of approximation is used based on a 3+1 decomposition of the equations. The results are expressed explicitly in terms of the gravitational potentials. The space-time is asymptotically flat but not locally flat. The space-time metric contains gravitational terms, inertial terms, and coupled gravitational-inertial terms. The inertial terms in the equation of motion are in agreement with terms obtained by other authors using kinematic methods. The metric and equation of motion reduce to those for an inertial frame of reference under a simple coordinate transformation. The total energy of a particle is given. For the restricted three-body problem this represents the relativistic extension of Jacobi's integral to post-Newtonian order.This article received an honorable mention from the Gravity Research Foundation for the year 1984—Ed.  相似文献

文章计算了含有三种跃迁项(最近邻(NN)、次近邻(NNN)、次次近邻(NNNN)跃迁项)的扩展Su-Schrieffer-Heeger(SSH)模型(模型ⅰ)的热力学特性.对仅含有二种跃迁项(NN、NNN跃迁项)的扩展SSH模型(模型ⅱ)、仅含有一种跃迁项(NN跃迁项)的SSH模型(模型ⅲ)也作了类似的计算.在低温下,每个模型都有相变且跃迁项的存在会降低相变温度.由于NNN跃迁项的存在,在极低温条件下,关于热容量与温度比(HCOTR)随温度变化的单调性,模型i与其它两个模型存在差异.在低温下,模型ⅰ的HCOTR的单调性,会受NN或NNN或NNNN跃迁项的影响并且NN或NNN跃迁项会影响其相变.  相似文献

New optical spectra near the fundamental edge of GaSe have been measured at low temperatures. The observed fine structure is explained in terms of transitions to excitonic groundstates and excited states, in terms of phonon replica of exciton ground states and in terms of excitons bound to intrinsic point defects.  相似文献

Nonsymmetric terms or angle-dependent terms in the power series expansion of Einstein's equations are considered. It is shown, first, that they do not influence the time evolution of the symmetric terms and, second, that they do not remain bounded as the cylinder collapses. However, the major contribution to the density arising from the symmetric terms makes the nonsymmetric contribution progressively more insignificant as the collapse proceeds.  相似文献

Kelly and Falicov (KF) have demonstrated that phonon mediated intervalley electronic exchange interactions can lead to a charge density wave type ground state in silicon (111) inversion layers. In their model only two valley interaction terms are included. There are four valley interaction terms which, in principle, are as large in magnitude as the two valley terms. We have investigated the effect of including the four-valley interaction terms on a number of Hartree-Fock solutions.  相似文献

利用稳相法和矢量结构理论, 导出了线偏振拉盖尔-高斯光束的矢量结构项TE项和TM项在远场的解析表达式. 进而利用TE项和TM项的远场能流分布, 给出了TE项和TM项的功率占总功率比例的度量式,同时还给出了线偏振拉盖尔-高斯光束、TE项和TM项三者远场发散角的解析式以及三者远场发散角间的关系式. 所得到的公式不仅适用于傍轴情形,而且还适用于非傍轴情形. 通过数值计算, 分析了TE项和TM项在远场的功率占总功率的比例与参数f和模数间的依赖关系;还分析了拉盖尔-高斯光束、TE项和TM项的远场发散角随参数f、模数和线偏振角的变化关系.这一研究从矢量结构本性揭示了线偏振拉盖尔-高斯光束的远场发散特性, 丰富了对其传输特性的认识.  相似文献

The Minkowski causal logic, which is already known to be a complete orthomodular lattice, is found to be also an atomistic and irreducible logic, but to have no other essential properties to be represented in terms of all the subspace of some Hilbert space. Although a compensation device can correct aberrations of human eyes, the effect will be degraded by its misalignment, especially for high-order aberration correction. We calculate the positioning tolerance of correction device for high-order aberrations, and within what degree the correcting effect is better than low-order aberration (defocus and astigmatism) correction. With fixed certain misalignment within the positioning tolerance, we calculate the residual wavefront rms aberration of the first-6 to first-35 terms along with the 3rd-Sth terms of aberrations corrected, and the combined first-13 terms of aberrations are also studied under the same quantity of misalignment. However, the correction effect of high-order aberrations does not meliorate along with the increase of the high-order terms under some misalignment, moreover, some simple combined terms correction can achieve similar result as complex combinations. These results suggest that it is unnecessary to correct too much the terms of high-order aberrations which are difficult to accomplish in practice, and gives confidence to correct high-order aberrations out of the laboratory.  相似文献

Based on the vectorial structure of non-paraxial electromagnetic beam and the method of stationary phase, the analytical TE and TM terms of non-paraxial nonsymmetrical vector Gaussian beam in the far field are presented. According to the analytical electromagnetic fields of the TE and TM terms, the energy flux distributions of the whole beam, its TE and TM terms are investigated. Moreover, the influences of non-symmetries on the energy flux distributions of the whole beam, its TE and TM terms are also analyzed, respectively. This research reveals the internal vectorial structure of non-paraxial laser beam in the far field and is useful to the propagation of non-paraxial laser beam.  相似文献

The leading gradient terms in the kinetic energy densities of the electrons and holes in Ge and Si type semiconductors are calculated including band structure effects. Band structure effects are found to increase these gradient terms substantially over those for isotropic bands. The surface properties of electron—hole drops in Ge are studied using these gradient terms with several local energy densities, and band structure effects in the gradient terms are shown to increase the surface thickness, surface energy and dipole barrier over isotropic band results. The difference in the chemical potentials of the electrons and holes obtained from these approximate energy functionals indicates that the drop becomes positively charged, which is opposite in sign to that proposed recently by Rice.  相似文献

We solve the one-dimensional time-independent Schrdinger equation in the presence of the modified Cusp potential and report the solutions in terms of the Whittaker functions. We obtain the reflection and transmission coefficients as well as the bound-state solutions in terms of the Whittaker functions. We construct the effective chiral Lagrangian for chiral perturbation theory in the mesonic odd-intrinsic-parity sector at order . The Lagrangian contains 24 in principle measurable terms and no contact terms for the general case of light flavors, 23 terms for three and 5 for two flavors. In the two flavor case we need a total of 13 terms if an external singlet vector field is included. We discuss and implement the methods used to reduce to a minimal set. The bulk-scattering properties of dust aerosols and clouds are computed for the community radiative transfer model (CRTM) that is a flagship effort of the Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA). The delta-fit method is employed to truncate the forward peaks of the scattering phase functions and to compute the Legendre expansion coefficients for re-constructing the truncated phase function. Use of more terms in the expansion gives more accurate re-construction of the phase function, but the issue remains as to how many terms are necessary for different applications. To explore this issue further, the bidirectional reflectances associated with dust aerosols, water clouds, and ice clouds are simulated with various numbers of Legendre expansion terms. To have relative numerical errors smaller than 5%, the present analyses indicate that, in the visible spectrum, 16 Legendre polynomials should be used for dust aerosols, while 32 Legendre expansion terms should be used for both water and ice clouds. In the infrared spectrum, the brightness temperatures at the top of the atmosphere are computed by using the scattering properties of dust aerosols, water clouds and ice clouds. Although small differences of brightness temperatures compared with the counterparts computed with 4, 8, 128 expansion terms are observed at large viewing angles for each layer, it is shown that 4 terms of Legendre polynomials are sufficient in the radiative transfer computation at infrared wavelengths for practical applications.  相似文献

Based on the vector angular spectrum representation of optical beam and the method of stationary phase, the analytical TE and TM terms of vector Gaussian beam have been presented in the far field. By using the local polarization matrix, the polarization properties of the TE and TM terms in the far field are investigated, and it is found that the degree of their polarization is only determined by the spatial location. When the source is completely polarized, the TE and TM terms are both completely polarized in the far field. When the source is completely unpolarized, the TE and TM terms in the far field are partially polarized. The whole beam is also partially polarized except on the propagating axis. Moreover, the degrees of polarization of TE and TM terms are both larger than that of the whole beam.[第一段]  相似文献

We have analyzed the precision and systematic errors of the familiar method of a plane single-ended probe for measuring the anisotropic distribution functions for electrons and ions in plasma. Analytic relations that connect the plasma parameters and the required number of terms in a series are obtained under the conditions when anisotropy is due to the presence of an electric field in the plasma. It has been shown that ten terms of the series are usually sufficient to adequately describe the ion distribution function, except for the case of strong fields. For strongly anisotropic charged particle distribution functions, the spline interpolation technique for experimental data is proposed and tested, which substantially reduces the systematic error for a preset number of terms in the series. It has been shown for abundant actual plasma objects with the mirror symmetry that the number of required orientations of a plane probe for the experimental distribution function can be reduced by half compared to the most general case of the absence of any symmetry for a fixed number of terms in the Legendre series, while for the same number of orientations, the number of terms in the series, which are determined from these measurements, doubled accordingly.  相似文献
