I attempted to produce a laser beam with no light in the central line of the beam, by Fresnel diffraction of the Gaussian beam by a spiral zone plate (SZP). The study imparts an arbitrary-order phase singularity on the light field. The experimental results show that the optical vortex radius depends on the singularity’s integer order n (also termed topological charge, or order of the dislocation). Also, the radius of maximum intensity is shown to depend on the singularity number. Anomalous behavior of the spectra at phase singularity produced by various zone plates near the focus of a converging Gaussian beam is also studied using a simple experimental technique. It is found that the spectrum of the beam on the SZP (spiral zone plate) consisting of a single spectral profile shows almost vanishing intensity at all frequencies with a tendency of splitting into two peaks at the on-axis point and shows redshift and blueshift around the phase singularity. A comparative study of the anomalous behavior of the spectra at phase singularity produced by various SZPs, with varying phase singularity order n, near the focus of a converging Gaussian laser beam is studied.  相似文献

Vortex-wave beams are beams that carry angular momentum. Their specific feature is a ring-like transverse distribution of wave intensity with zero intensity at the axis. A method for generating an ultrasonic vortex beam by combining a single-element transducer and a phase plate with a nonuniform thickness is proposed. The method is examined theoretically and tested experimentally. In the theoretical analysis, the acoustic field was calculated using the Rayleigh integral. Experiments were performed in water with a focusing piezoceramic source with a frequency of the order of 1 MHz; the radiation from it was transmitted through a 12-sector organic-glass phase plate. The beam vorticity was established by setting the correct thickness of sectors. The results of scanning the field with a miniature hydrophone confirmed that the amplitude and phase distributions of the generated wave field were in fact consistent with a vortex beam. The capacity of the obtained beam to induce the rotation of scatterers positioned in the focal region was demonstrated.  相似文献

Propagation of a hollow Gaussian beam diffracted by a circular phase aperture is studied without making the paraxial approximation. The analytical expression of the intensity of the apertured hollow Gaussian beam is presented in the far field. The influences of the truncation parameter and the order of hollow Gaussian beam on the intensity distributions are discussed. It is shown that a circular ?-phase aperture can be used to transform a hollow Gaussian beam into a ring-shaped beam in the far field with the appropriate parameters.  相似文献

对非均匀近场强度分布影响强激光远场聚焦效果的原因进行了分析。对高能激光窗口进行了二元光学设计。提高了光束强度分布的均匀性,改善了光束质量。介绍了二元光学设计的基本原理,采用随机并行扰动爬山法对窗口的位相分布、变换后的光束强度分布、衍射效率和光束均匀性进行了计算。计算结果表明,基于二元光学设计的激光窗口能有效地改善光束强度分布的均匀性,提高了发射光束的质量。  相似文献

We investigate theoretically some phase transitions in liquid crystals in the presence of a laser beam. We found, in non-absorbing nematics, a laser-induced one-way transition from a paranematic to a nematic phase. In absorbing nematics we found, in addition to this transition, a one-way transition from a nematic to a paranematic phase with increasing laser intensity. Further, we found a reentrant nematic or a reentrant paranematic via paranematic or nematic phase respectively. In the case of smectic A, laser absorption results in a coupling between the positional and orientational orders. As a result, the smectic A to nematic transition can change from second order to first order and the smectic C to smectic A transition can become first-order in the field of a laser.  相似文献

基于Gyrator变换,推导了四瓣高斯光束场分布的解析表达式,研究了四瓣高斯光束通过Gyrator变换后的光强分布和相位分布.结果表明:在Gyrator变换过程中,四瓣高斯光束能够转换为具有光涡旋的矩形空心光束,在获得矩形空心光束时其四顶角处光束强度最强,而四条边上的光束强度分布几乎是均匀的.对影响矩形空心光束强度和相位分布的光束参数和变换角进行了详细的分析,发现光束阶数不同,产生不同类型的空心光束;Gyrator变换的变换角则影响空心光束能量分布;空心光束亮环的大小由四瓣高斯光束的束腰宽度决定,束腰宽度越大,矩形空心光束的宽度越小.  相似文献

基于德拜矢量衍射积分理论,对离轴高斯涡旋光束经过大数值孔径透镜后聚焦场的特性进行了研究,获得了离轴高斯涡旋光束深聚焦后复振幅分布函数,在此基础上对离轴高斯涡旋光束深聚焦场的光强和相位分别进行了分析.数值模拟结果表明:离轴距离的改变对高斯涡旋光束在焦平面上的光强分布和相位分布会产生影响,离轴距离的增加会加剧聚焦场光强在y轴方向上分布的差异,而离轴距离的符号决定了光强集中区域的方向.另一方面,与一阶离轴涡旋光束不同,高阶离轴涡旋光束经过深聚焦后会发生暗核分裂现象,出现多个相位奇点,奇点个数等于原始光束对应的拓扑荷数,且分裂后的奇点具有明显的对称性.研究表明,这种暗核分裂现象由大数值孔径透镜深聚焦引起.  相似文献

基于非线性薛定谔方程和分步傅里叶算法, 研究了高功率平顶高斯光束经过厚非线性介质后在自由空间传输的光强演变过程, 详细分析了介质表面缺陷对光强演化规律的影响.研究结果表明, 平顶阶数越大, 光束的自聚焦效果越差, 最大光强点越靠近介质后表面.入射光束的初始场强越强, 介质的厚度和非线性系数越大, 光束的自聚焦越强, 且极值点越靠近介质后表面.介质表面的缺陷使得光束在靠近介质后表面有较大的光强. 并且相位调制型缺陷比振幅调制型缺陷对光强的影响更大. 关键词: 平顶光束 自聚焦 缺陷 光强分布  相似文献

A method of direct measurement of near-field phase and intensity distribution of laser diodes employing a single-mode fiber interferometer is proposed and demonstrated. The phase and intensity of the output beam of the laser in the vicinity of the output facet are measured directly via interferometry. Using a 980 nm laser diode as an example, we obtained a beam width of 0.9 and 3.6 μm at the output facet in the vertical and horizontal axes, respectively. In addition, the phase information of the output beam was also obtained by using interferometry. This technique is particularly useful for laser diodes whose near-field phases are difficult to measure directly. The measured vertical and horizontal wavefront radius of curvatures of a laser diode are in good agreement with the calculation from Gaussian beam theory. Detailed understanding and measurement of the near-field phase and intensity distributions of light sources and optical components are essential for micro-optic designs with better mode matching to minimize the insertion loss.  相似文献

The martensitic phase of 301 stainless steel has been locally transformed into the austenitic phase by irradiating it with a focused Ar-ion laser beam in order to investigate the local change of magnetic properties accompanying the phase transformation. The intensity of the magnetic signal was found to locally reduce at a laser power of 350 mW and almost extinguish at 550 mW with a beam spot size of 13.2 m (at 1/e intensity), indicating the local austenitic phase transformation of the irradiated stainless steel.On leave from Ltd., Shimoteno, Himeji, Hyogo 670, Japan  相似文献

The focus of this two-dimensional study is the radially varying intensity emergent from a plane-parallel scattering medium exposed to a collimated, Gaussian laser beam directed perpendicular to the upper surface. The method of analysis is the integral transform technique. Specifically, this work uses the generalized reflection and transmission functions from a previous study to construct the emergent intensity with the use of an inverse Hankel transform. Radially varying backscattered and transmitted intensities are calculated for media with isotropic and Rayleigh scattering phase functions and optical thicknesses that range from 0.125 to 8.0. The behavior of the emergent radiation inside and outside the beam is investigated for both narrow and wide beams. A new integration method is implemented to compute the emergent intensity at the beam center. The emergent intensity at the beam center is used to quantify when a one-dimensional model may be used. As expected, for small optical thicknesses and near the beam the phase function has significant influence, while far from the beam multiple scattering reduces the influence of the Rayleigh phase function. Results from this study will be useful in understanding and interpreting more complicated situations, such as those that include polarization.  相似文献

Various diagnostic techniques have been applied at the neutron-induced positron source Munich NEPOMUC in order to determine the positron beam parameters such as intensity, beam shape and energy distribution. The positron beam intensity is determined by the detection of the annihilation radiation of positrons, which annihilate in a movable target. The use of a micro-channel plate (MCP) detector with a CCD-camera allows a direct measurement of the positron beam shape and the lateral resolved intensity distribution. At NEPOMUC a movable MCP-assembly inside the evacuated beam line enables a quick examination of the beam shape during operation. A retarding grid was mounted inside the homogeneous magnetic guiding field in order to determine the distribution of the longitudinal positron momentum, and hence estimate the energy distribution of the positrons.  相似文献

 建立了超高斯光束的相干叠加的数学模型,对比了光束间距为1 cm、超高斯阶数为12条件下25束高斯光束相干叠加与非相干叠加时的光强分布,发现相干合成的峰值光强为非相干叠加的峰值光强的近10倍,且光束质量也得到大大提高,有利于提高能量的利用率。分析了多种条件下相干合成的光强分布特性,结果表明:随机相位差小于十分之一波长时,相位差的变化对相干合成效果影响不大;当超高斯阶数大于10时对相干合成的峰值光强影响较小;随着相干发射阵列光束间距的增大,相干合成光强迅速减小,光束质量变差。得到了传输距离分别为10 m,100 m,1 km和5 km下的光强分布,表明合成的峰值光强随着传输距离的增加而由小变大,最后随着传输距离的进一步增大而衰减。最后得到了不同传输距离处的环围功率比。  相似文献

Optical phase conjugation in gelatin film doped with basic green 1 has been measured using CW laser radiation (λ=632.8 nm) generated by He–Ne laser of total power 35 mW. The degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) experiment allowed for measurement of phase conjugate reflectivity as a function of dye concentration, backward beam intensity, forward beam intensity, probe beam intensity, mean pumping beam intensity and angle between the forward pumping beam and probe beam. For 1 mM concentration of basic green 1-doped gelatin film, 0.1% phase conjugate reflectivity has been observed.  相似文献

Methods are discussed for processing a digital signal (proportional to a longitudinal intensity of bunches during their acceleration in the synchrotron) in order to identify the time dependences of (i) a bunch phase relative to a phase of accelerating voltage, (ii) the rms longitudinal dimension of a bunch, and (iii) the intensities of a bunch and a beam (as a batch of circulating bunches). In this paper the aberrations of a centered axially symmetric electromagnetic wave beam in a nonlinear medium are examined. A formula is obtained, which describes the intensity distribution of the beam near the aberration point. The procedure for investigating high-order aberrations is demonstrated.
