Simple empirical relations have been proposed to relate a limited number of directly measurable non-acoustic properties of an unconsolidated granular mix to its characteristic acoustic impedance and propagation constant. These properties are: characteristic particle dimension, porosity, tortuosity and the density of the grain base. It is believed that the model accounts heuristically for the mechanical friction between the elements of the rigid frame, the absorption in the frame micro-pores, and the degree of compaction. These effects can be important and are linked to the value of material density. This work presents practical applications of the proposed model for the prediction of the acoustic characteristics of hard-backed layers of loose granular mixes which can be used for acoustic absorption and insulation. It is shown that the predictions are in excellent agreement with the measured data for a representative range of loose granular mixes. A comparison of the results of the 4-parameter Attenborough model for the acoustic properties of porous media and the experimental data is made also. This model is used extensively to predict the acoustic properties of porous ground and granular media. The accuracy of this model with respect to loose granular materials is discussed.  相似文献

The paper presents a systematic study of acoustic and non-acoustic properties of consolidated porous samples of expanded clay granulates. The effect of the particle size on the acoustic performance of consolidated expanded clays is investigated experimentally and theoretically. This work involves a comparison of the measured and predicted values of the absorption coefficient and normalised acoustic surface impedance data. It is demonstrated that the values of tortuosity and standard deviation in the pore size distribution do not depend significantly on the size of the material aggregate. An empirical expression which links the flow resistivity of the consolidated granular mix has been derived from the measured data. These results pave the way for the development of a simple practical model which will be able to link the acoustic properties of a consolidated granular mix with the characteristic particle dimension and the porosity data. These materials are structurally robust and easy to integrate in buildings and highway structures to control the levels of environmental noise and improve the acoustic quality of spaces.  相似文献

Clinkers of high alumina cements are separated into three granular formulations with particle sizes in the range 0.6-0.71 mm, 0.71-1.18 mm and greater than 1.18 mm. These are used to manufacture consolidated samples of porous concrete in an autoclave. The acoustic and microscopic properties of loose and consolidated porous samples of concrete are investigated using both experimental methods and mathematical modelling. Values of porosity, flow resistivity, tortuosity and parameters of the pore size distribution are determined and used to predict closely the sound speed, acoustic attenuation and normal incidence absorption coefficient of these materials. It is shown that high alumina cements do not require additional binders for consolidation and that the structural bonds in these cements are developed quickly between individual clinkers in the presence of water. The hydration product build-up during the consolidation process is insignificant which ensures good acoustic performance of the consolidated samples resulting from a sufficient proportion of the open pores. The value of porosity in the consolidated samples was found to be around 40%, which is close to that measured in some commercial acoustic absorbers. This work provides a foundation for the development of acoustically efficient and structurally robust materials, which can be integrated in environmentally sustainable concrete and masonry structures.  相似文献

A fractal dimension for roughness height (RH) is introduced to characterize the degree of roughness or disorder of particle surface characters which significantly influence physical-chimerical processes in porous media. An analytical expression for the fractal dimension of RH on statistically self-similar fractal surfaces is derived and is expressed as a function of roughness parameters. The specific surface area (SSA) of porous materials with spherical particles is also derived, and the proposed fractal model for the SSA of particles with rough surfaces is expressed as a function of fractal dimension for RH and fractal dimension for particle size distribution, relative roughness of particle surface, and ratio of the minimum to the maximum particle diameters of spherical particles.  相似文献

This paper reports an investigation of the impact sound insulation performance of a range of materials made from recycled carpet tiles and provides a comparison with the performance of some commercially available acoustic underlays. The impact testing is carried out using a specially designed rig. It is demonstrated that good quality acoustic materials can be successfully manufactured from a granulated mix of industrial carpet waste. The effects of the grain to fibre (G:F) mass ratio, binder concentration and particle size distribution on the acoustic performance is investigated. It is shown that the optimum G:F ratio should be close to the mass ratio of the backing material to the pile material in many types of commercial carpet tiles (60:40). Sieving the granular waste and producing samples containing a single class of particle size does not enhance the impact sound insulation performance. These are important findings, which should ensure an efficient, cost-effective, full-scale manufacturing process. A formulation has been developed which yields samples with optimum impact sound insulation capability. This optimised sample compares favourably with the commercial underlays tested on the impact rig. The dynamic mechanical properties of the developed underlays have also been investigated to provide a better understanding of their influence on the impact sound insulation.  相似文献

针对颗粒介质力学特性的颗粒尺度效应研究,选用土矿物颗粒制备不同颗粒尺度的抗剪试样,进行一系列直剪快剪和三轴抗剪试验,测得了不同颗粒粒径和体分比试样的变形曲线及剪应力强度;基于颗粒间微观作用力与重力比值和胞元体模型,首次从微观和细观角度解释颗粒尺度效应的物理机理.结果表明,随着介质中粗颗粒的比例增加和粒径减小,介质变形特性增强,剪应力强度也随之提高;体分比对变形和强度特性的影响比粒径的影响更加显著.基于介质特性尺度效应物理机理分析,提出衡量介质颗粒聚集和摩擦效应的微重比判别参数以及应变梯度和变形协调微裂纹引起颗粒尺度效应的细观机理解释;文中提出的胞元体模型大大减少了颗粒物质体系的计算自由度,为工业和工程设计的计算建模提供一种可行途径.  相似文献

The dynamics of inclined granular packings driven towards their stability limits are studied experimentally using imaging techniques as well as acoustic methods. The former allow one to study grain rearrangements during the tilting. The implementation of both passive and active acoustic methods for probing the granular packings, with capabilities for time-resolved measurements, provides information on various elastic properties of the layers along the destabilization process, including the transient precursors. Systematic experiments of granular layer destabilization for various granular media and external conditions are compared and allow one to better understand the mechanisms responsible for the appearance, periodicity, and intensity of precursors.  相似文献

通过数值模拟得出面积分形维数和孔隙率相同,而孔隙结构不同的分形多孔介质的导热特性是不相同的.说明仅仅依靠孔隙率和分形维数两个参数无法有效确定多孔介质的热物理性质,寻找新的表征孔隙结构的参数是必要的.同时也说明了前人所得出的关于多孔介质的热物性的解析表达式具有一定的局限性和不确定性.  相似文献

根据多孔介质微观结构的分形尺度标度特征,采用蒙特卡罗方法分别重构随机多孔介质的微观颗粒和孔隙结构,并基于分形毛管束模型研究多尺度多孔介质的气体渗流特性,建立多孔介质微观结构和宏观渗流特性的定量关系。结果表明:分形蒙特卡罗重构的多孔介质微细结构接近真实介质结构,气体渗流特性的计算结果与格子玻尔兹曼模拟数据较为吻合; 多孔介质气体渗透率随着克努森数的增加而增大,孔隙分形维数对于气体渗流的微尺度效应具有显著影响,而迂曲度分形维数对于表观渗透率和固有渗透率的比值影响可以忽略。提出的分形蒙特卡罗方法具有收敛速度快且计算误差与维数无关的优点,有利于深入理解多尺度多孔介质的渗流机理。  相似文献

A volume averaging approach is used to estimate the porous media permeability. Contrary to traditional methods that rely on solving the Navier-Stokes equations for laminar flow, this approach has the advantage that it does not require the specification of some physical conditions and parameters (pressure drop and viscosity). Numerical results on synthetic models of porous media showed that (i) the local porous medium configuration has an important effect on the permeability value, and (ii) the Carman-Kozeny equation cannot describe the permeability behavior as a function of porosity and characteristic lengths. In turn, our results indicate that simple empirical equations, commonly used in practice, are unable to describe the permeability functionalities over a broad range of porous media configurations.  相似文献

利用基于线性黏聚接触模型的离散元法对不同颗粒系统的堆积过程进行了数值模拟研究,分析了颗粒形状和湿颗粒间液桥力对颗粒堆积形态的影响机理,获得了球形和块状湿颗粒堆基底表面所受的法向力以及堆中颗粒间的法向力和切向力"中心凹陷"式的分布规律,讨论了颗粒形状和黏聚能量密度对基底表面作用力和颗粒间作用力的影响.研究结果表明,颗粒形状和液桥力对颗粒堆的堆积形态具有显著的影响.堆积角随着黏聚能量密度的增加而增大,并且相同条件下的块状颗粒堆积角大于球形颗粒.颗粒形状和黏聚能量密度对基底表面所受作用力和堆中颗粒间的作用力变化及最大幅值均有影响作用.当黏聚能量密度值逐渐增大时,颗粒堆的作用力最大幅值均逐渐增大,并且块状颗粒堆的作用力最大幅值大于球形颗粒堆.当黏聚能量密度值过大时,颗粒堆力学特性更加复杂,液桥力对颗粒堆积特性的影响作用大于颗粒形状的影响.  相似文献

研究了非牛顿流体中的卡森流体在多孔介质中的流动特性.基于服从分形分布的弯曲毛细管束模型,运用分形几何理论推导出了该流体在多孔介质中流动的流量、流速、启动压力梯度和有效渗透率的分形解析解.模型中的每一个参数都有明确的物理意义,它将卡森流体在多孔介质中的流动特性与多孔介质的微结构参数有机联系起来.文中给出了卡森流体的流速、启动压力梯度和有效渗透率随着各影响因素的变化趋势,并进行了讨论.所得分形模型可以更深刻地理解卡森流体在多孔介质中流动的内在物理机理. 关键词: 多孔介质 卡森流体 分形  相似文献

An impedance model relates acoustic properties of porous materials with non-acoustical parameters. Although such parameters can be measured, specific equipment is required for each of them, so that numerical methods have been proposed for estimating their value from a more manageable measurement of the normal incidence absorption coefficient in an impedance tube. This inverse procedure requires both an impedance model and an inversion technique. This paper compares four impedance models, Miki, Hamet–Berengier, Johnson–Allard–Champoux and Champoux–Stinson, when Simulated Annealing is used for the inverse estimation of the non-acoustical parameters of three granular materials, consisting of packings of small spherical glass beads of different diameters. Some of these parameters have also been measured, so that they can be compared with these estimated by the proposed inverse method.  相似文献

An analysis of tortuosity for streamlines in porous media is presented by coupling the circle and square models. It is assumed that some particles in porous media do not overlap and that fluid in porous media is incompressible. The relationship between tortuosity and porosity is attained with different configurations by using a statistical method. In addition, the tortuosity fractal dimension is expressed as a function of porosity. Those correlations do not include any empirical constant. The percolation threshold and tortuosity fractal dimension threshold of porous media are also presented as: c = 0.32, D T c = 1.07. The predicted correlations of the tortuosity and the porosity agree well with the existing experimental and simulated results.  相似文献

We have found a way to analyze Edwards' density of states for static granular packings in the special case of round, rigid, frictionless grains assuming a constant coordination number. It obtains the most entropic density of single grain states, which predicts several observables including the distribution of contact forces. We compare these results against empirical data obtained in dynamic simulations of granular packings. The agreement is quite good, helping validate the use of statistical mechanics methods in granular physics. The differences between theory and empirics are mainly related to the coordination number, and when the empirical data are sorted by that number we obtain several insights that suggest an underlying elegance in the density of states.  相似文献

A method for the capture of small particles (tens of microns in diameter) from a continuously flowing suspension has recently been reported. This technique relies on a standing acoustic wave resonating in a rectangular chamber filled with a high-porosity mesh. Particles are retained in this chamber via a complex interaction between the acoustic field and the porous mesh. Although the mesh has a pore size two orders of magnitude larger than the particle diameter, collection efficiencies of 90% have been measured. A mathematical model has been developed to understand the experimentally observed phenomena and to be able to predict filtration performance. By examining a small region (a single fiber) of the porous mesh, the model has duplicated several experimental events such as the focusing of particles near an element of the mesh and the levitation of particles within pores. The single-fiber analysis forms the basis of modeling the overall performance of the particle filtration system.  相似文献

为了研究导波在被孔隙介质约束的弹性杆结构中的传播规律,分析孔隙参数对导波传播特性的影响,本文建立了无限大孔隙介质包裹圆柱体的理论模型,利用孔隙介质弹性波动理论,分析了导波的频散曲线,以及圆柱半径和孔隙参数对于导波传播特性的影响。结果表明,在该结构中传播的纵向导波存在频散特性。内部圆柱半径的改变影响波导结构,从而影响导波传播。外部孔隙介质的渗透率对于导波频散的影响较小,孔隙度的改变影响孔隙介质体波波速,从而影响导波频散曲线的截止频率。同时,导波存在较小的衰减,且衰减随孔隙度增大而增大。这些结果对于后续开展无限大介质包裹弹性杆结构的超声无损评价提供了一定的理论参考。  相似文献
