Magnetic properties of the Ce2Fe17−xMnx, x=0–2, alloys in magnetic fields up to 40 T are reported. The compounds with x=0.5–1 are helical antiferromagnets and those with 1<x?2 are helical ferromagnets or helical antiferromagnets at low and high T, respectively. Mn ions in the system carry average magnetic moment of 3.0±0.2 μB that couple antiparallelly to the Fe moments. Easy-plane magnetic anisotropy in the Ce2Fe17−xMnx compounds weakens upon substitution of Mn for Fe. The absolute value of the first anisotropy constant in the Ce2Fe17−xMnx helical ferromagnets decreases slower with increasing temperature than that calculated from the third power of the spontaneous magnetization. Noticeable magnetic hysteresis in the Ce2Fe17−xMnx, x=0.5–2, helical magnets over the whole range of magnetic fields reflects mainly irreversible deformation of the helical magnetic structure during the magnetization of the compounds. A contribution from short-range order (SRO) magnetic clusters to the magnetic hysteresis of the helical magnets has been also estimated.  相似文献

The magnetic and transport properties in the perovskite Sr1−xLaxFe1−xMnxO3 have been explored. As x rises, the systemic ferromagnetism increases gradually and cluster-spin-glass state occurs in the low-temperature region. For 0.3?x?0.7, the ferromagnetic phase separation from the paramagnetic phase was observed from the results of electron-spin-resonance measurement. Although all samples show a semiconducting behavior, their transport properties are dominated by two different mechanisms, namely, the electronic transport of x?0.5 samples is realized by thermal activation but the variable-range hopping is applied in x?0.7 ones. The different transport mechanism can be understood from the Mn/Fe ions interaction.  相似文献

Co1−xZnxFe2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation method with x varying from 0 to 1.0. The powder samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The average crystallite sizes of the particles were determined from XRD. X-ray analysis showed that the samples were cubic spinel. The average crystallite size (DaveXR) of the particles precipitated was found to vary from 6.92 to 12.02 nm decreasing with the increase in zinc substitution. The lattice constant (ao) increased with the increase in zinc substitution. The specific saturation magnetization (MS) of the particles was measured at room temperature. The magnetic parameters such as MS, Hc, and Mr were found to decrease with the increase in zinc substitution. FTIR spectra of the Co1−xZnxFe2O4 with x varying from 0 to 1.0 in the range 400–4000 cm−1 were reported. The spinel structure and the crystalline water adsorption of Co1−xZnxFe2O4 nanoparticles were studied by using FTIR.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of Laves-phase alloys Dy(Co1−xFex)2(x=0x=0, 0.02,0.04,0.06,0.08) have been prepared by arc-melting method. No first order phase transition was observed for samples with x≠0x0. With the increase of Fe content, the Curie temperature increases greatly, while the calculated magnetic entropy change, ΔSM, shows an obvious decrease with a broader peak. The origin of the magnetocaloric effect in Dy(Co1−xFex)2 alloys has been discussed.  相似文献

We have studied the effects of Co substitution for Mn on the structure and magnetic properties of the HoMn6−xCoxSn6 compounds (0?x?0.25) with HfFe6Ge6-type structure (space group P6/mmm) by X-ray powder diffraction and magnetization measurements. A monotonic decrease of the lattice parameters a and c is observed with increasing Co content. While the compounds with x=0 and 0.05 exhibit ferrimagnetism in the whole temperature range, the compounds with 0.1?x?0.15 show ferrimagnetism, helimagnetism and re-entrant ferrimagnetism with decreasing temperature. For the compounds with x=0 and 0.05, the spin reorientation temperature is observed. A metamagnetic transition from helimagnetic magnetic ordering to ferrimagnetism is observed for the compounds with x=0.1 and 0.2. The results are summarized in the HoMn6−xCoxSn6 magnetic phase diagram.  相似文献

A study of the half-metallic character of the semi Heusler alloys Co1−xCuxMnSb (0?x?0.9) is presented. We investigated the saturation magnetization MS at temperatures from 5 K to room temperature and the temperature dependence of the DC magnetic susceptibility χ above Curie temperature TC. The magnetic moments at 5 K, for most compositions are very close to the quantized value of 4 μB for Mn3+ ion, the compound with 90% Co substituted by Cu is still ferromagnetic with MS (5 K)=3.78 μB/f.u. These results emphasize the role of Co atoms in maintaining the ferromagnetic order in the material. The Curie temperature is decreased from 476 K to about 300 K as the Cu content increases from 0% to 90%. Above TC, the χ−1 vs T curves follow very well the Curie–Weiss law. The effective moment μeff and paramagnetic Curie temperature θ are derived. A comparison between the values of MS at 5 K and μeff shows a transition from localized to itinerant spin system in these compounds.  相似文献

In this work, we have investigated the effect of the substitution of Gd for Pr on the crystal structure and magnetic properties of the Pr1−xGdxCo4B compounds for 0?x?1 using X-ray powder diffraction, magnetic measurements, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). These compounds have hexagonal CeCo4B-type structure with the space group P6/mmm. The substitution of Gd for Pr leads to a decrease of the unit-cell parameters a and the unit-cell volume V, while the unit-cell parameter c increases slightly. Magnetic measurements indicate that all samples are ordered magnetically below room temperature. The Curie temperatures determined by DSC technique increase as Pr is substituted by Gd. The saturation magnetization at 5 K decreases upon Gd substitution up to x=0.6, and then increases again.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic properties of Mn substituted Ni0.50−xMnxZn0.50Fe2O4 (where x=0.00, 0.10 and 0.20) sintered at various temperatures have been investigated thoroughly. The lattice parameter, average grain size and initial permeability increase with Mn substitution. Both bulk density and initial permeability increase with increasing sintering temperature from 1250 to 1300 °C and above 1300 °C they decrease. The Ni0.30Mn0.20Zn0.50Fe2O4 sintered at 1300 °C shows the highest relative quality factor and highest initial permeability among the studied samples. The initial permeability strongly depends on average grain size and intragranular porosity. From the magnetization as a function of applied magnetic field, M(H), it is clear that at room temperature all samples are in ferrimagnetic state. The number of Bohr magneton, n(μB), and Neel temperature, TN, decrease with increasing Mn substitution. It is found that Mn substitution in Ni0.50−xMnxZn0.50Fe2O4 (where x=0.20) decreases the Neel temperature by 25% but increases the initial permeability by 76%. Possible explanation for the observed characteristics of microstructure, initial permeability, DC magnetization and Neel temperature of the studied samples are discussed.  相似文献

We synthesized the Mn-doped Mg(In2−xMnx)O4 oxides with 0.03?x?0.55 using a solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples were in a good agreement with that of a distorted orthorhombic spinel phase. Their lattice parameters and unit-cell volumes decrease with x due to the substitution of the smaller Mn3+ ions to the larger In3+ ions. The undoped MgIn2O4 oxide presents diamagnetic signals for 5 K?T?300 K. The M(H) at T=300 K reveals a fairly negative-sloped linear relationship. Neither magnetic hysteresis nor saturation behavior was observed in this parent sample. For the Mn-doped samples, however, positive magnetization were observed between 5 and 300 K even if the x value is as low as 0.03. The mass susceptibility enhances with Mn content and it reaches the highest value of 1.4×10−3 emu/g Oe (at T=300 K) at x=0.45. Furthermore, the Mn-doped oxides with x=0.06 and 0.2, respectively, exhibit nonlinear magnetization curves and small hysteretic loops in low magnetic fields. Susceptibilities of the Mn-doped samples are much higher than those of MnO2, Mn2O3 oxides, and Mn metals. These results show that the oxides have potential to be magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献

We report the observation of excellent hard magnetic properties on purely single phase ErCo7−xCux compounds with x=0.3, 0.5, 0.8 and 1. Cu substitution leads to a decrease in the saturation magnetization, but enhances the uniaxial anisotropy in this system. The large anisotropy field (∼100 kOe) is attributed to the Er and the Co sublattices. Domain wall pinning effect seems to play a crucial role in determining the temperature and field dependences of magnetization in these compounds. The hard magnetic properties obtained at room temperature (RT) are comparable to the best results obtained in other RCo7 based materials.  相似文献

A comprehensive study of the effect of Fe doping on CaMnO3 is carried out by means of experiments on the structural, transport conduction, and magnetic properties of CaMn1−xFexO3 (0≤x≤0.35). With a sol-gel process for sample preparation, Fe is substituted for Mn up to x=0.35. This substitution substantially brings out the lattice expansion and gradually suppresses the antiferromagnetism. For x=0.08 and 0.10 in particular, the magnetization curves with a field-cooled mode under the field of 1 kOe behave as those of a ferrimagnetic-like system and present low-temperature negative magnetization. For x≥0.15, the negative magnetization phenomenon disappears, and a ferromagnetic component coexists with an antiferromagnetic one, but the antiferromagnetic interaction still dominates in these compounds. Electrical transport measurements show insulating behavior for all compositions. Fe doping, even at a level as low as x=0.02, can cause a marked resistivity increase in the temperature range studied. Further increasing the Fe content causes the resistivity to gradually decrease due to the increasing carrier presence.  相似文献

The temperature and field dependent magnetic properties of melt-spun amorphous Fe89−xyZr11Bx(Co,Mn)y (x=5, 10 and 0≤y≤10) alloys in the temperature range 5-1200 K are reported. The Curie temperature and saturation magnetization at room temperature increase (decrease) almost linearly with Co (Mn) addition. With increasing Co concentration, the room temperature coercivity increases at the rate of 2.26 (0.28) A/m per at% for the x=5 (10) samples. The high-field magnetic susceptibility and local magnetic anisotropy decrease (increases) rapidly with increasing Co (Mn) concentration. The thermomagnetic curves show a marked increase in magnetization above 850 K corresponding to the crystallization of α-FeCo (α-Fe) phase in samples containing Co (Mn). The Curie temperature of the crystalline phase increases (remains same) with increasing Co (Mn) concentration with the formation of α-FeCo (α-Fe). Addition of Co up to 10 at% in Fe-Zr-B improves the room temperature saturation magnetization from 0.56 to 1.2 T, and Curie temperature from 315 to 476 K. Also, the coercivity increases with Co addition from 1.27 to 23.88 A/m for x=5 and from 7.64 to 10.35 A/m for x=10 alloy. The non-collinear spin structures that characterize Fe rich Fe-Zr-B amorphous alloys have been used to describe the observed results.  相似文献

MnxGe1−x thin films were prepared by magnetron sputtering with a substrate temperature of 673 K and subsequently annealed at 873 K. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements showed that all samples had a single Ge cubic structure. No films showed clear magnetic domain structure under a magnetic force microscope (MFM). Atom force microscope (AFM) measurements showed that the films had an uniform particle size distribution, and a columnar growth pattern. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements indicated that the valences of both Mn and Ge atoms increase with the Mn concentration. The resistance decreased with increasing temperature, suggesting that the films were typical semiconductors. Magnetic measurements carried out using a Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS) showed that all samples exhibited ferromagnetism at room temperature. There was a small concentration of Mn11Ge8 in the films, but the ferromagnetism was mainly induced by Mn substitution for Ge site.  相似文献

The ferromagnetic-to-antiferromagnetic transition in the hexagonal (Hf1−xTix)Fe2 (0?x?1) intermetallic compounds has been investigated by 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy. At 10 K, the transition occurs within rather narrow concentration limits, around x=0.55–0.65. We found that the key factor governing the unexpected quick change of the magnetic structure is the magnetic frustration of the Fe(2a) sites. The magnetic frustration is caused by the noncollinearity of the Fe(6h) magnetic sublattice. The noncollinearity arises from the rotation of the magnetic moments due to the competition between the ferromagnetic exchange interactions and the antiferromagnetic Fe(6h)–Ti–Fe(6h) interaction. In the compounds with x=0.4–0.6, the temperature transitions to the antiferromagnetic state are observed. As an example, the Hf0.4Ti0.6Fe2 compound is completely antiferromagnetic above 200 K.  相似文献

In this paper, magnetic property and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in nanoparticles perovskite manganites of the type (La0.67−xGdx)Sr0.33MnO3 (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20) synthesized by using an amorphous molecular alloy as precursor have been reported. From the magnetic measurements as function of temperature and magnetic applied field, we have discovered that the Curie temperature (TC) of the prepared samples is found to be strongly dependent on Gd content. The Curie temperature of samples is 358.4, 343.2, and 285.9 K for x=0.1, 0.15, and 0.2, respectively. A large magnetocaloric effect close to TC has been observed with a maximum of magnetoentropy change in all the samples, ∣ΔSMmax of 1.96 and 4.90 J/kg K at 2 and 5 T, respectively, for a substitution rate of 0.15. In addition, the maximum magnetic entropy change observed for samples with different concentration of Gd, exhibits a linear dependence with the applied high magnetic field. These results suggest that (La0.67−x Gdx)Sr0.33MnO3 (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20) compounds could be a suitable candidate as working substance in magnetic refrigeration near room temperature.  相似文献

A summary of the results of ac susceptibility and isothermal magnetization measurements on polycrystalline samples of Ce2Fe17−xSix with nominal composition of x=0.0, 0.1, 0.2 and 1.0 is presented. These data reveal that the substitution of small amounts of Si for Fe produce a significant increase in temperature at which ferromagnetism appears, to the extent that, at x=1, characteristics of the anti ferromagnetic to paramagnetic transition (at temperature TN) have disappeared completely. The nature of the various magnetic phase transitions — identified through the use of Arrott plots — and the accompanying magnetic entropy change, ΔSm, are both affected significantly by small amounts of Si substitution. In particular, while the peak entropy change is modest (occurring at x=0.1), the temperature interval over which a substantial entropy change occures is significant, approaching 150 K, an important criterion for improving the overall effectiveness of such materials for magnetic refrigeration.  相似文献

In this paper, the substitution effect of Sr for La in three non-superconducting system La2−xSrxCu0.94M0.06O4 (M = Fe, Co and Ni) have been systematically studied. As the concentration of Sr increases to around 0.20, the superconductivity is recovered. The peak at 695 cm−1 in the infrared spectra which is assigned to the stretching mode of oxygen atoms in plane induced by M3+ doping is suppressed by Sr increasing, demonstrating that the holes introduced by the Sr substitution have been injected into the CuO2 plane and compensate the localized electrons. These results suggest that the superconductivity recurrence is caused by the carrier compensation. The main origin of superconductivity suppression by the magnetic ions Fe/Co/Ni is the carrier localization effect.  相似文献

The crystalline structures, magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of MnCo1−xGe alloys (0.02?x?0.2) have been reported. The crystalline structures of MnCo1−xGe (x?0.06) alloys are mainly of TiNiSi-type phase, and Ni2In-type structure dominates for x>0.06. With decreasing Co concentrations the saturated magnetization of these compounds decreases. Large low-field magnetic entropy change −ΔSM of about 2.3 J/kg K in MnCo0.94Ge alloy has been obtained for a magnetic field change of 1 T. Moreover, it is found that TiNiSi-type phase exhibits larger −ΔSM than Ni2In-type one. For MnCo0.94Ge alloy, considerable low-field refrigerant capacity (RC) (∼460 mJ/cm3), low coercivity and easy synthesis make these alloys potential candidates for near-room temperature magnetic refrigerants.  相似文献

The magnetic properties have been studied for the series of RNi5−xCux intermetallics with R=Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu; x  ?2.5. Compositional dependences of magnetic susceptibility for the Pauli paramagnets (R=Y, La, Ce, Lu) and the Curie temperature for ferromagnets (R=Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) have maximum at x=0.2–0.4x=0.20.4 and 1, respectively. The substitution of Cu for Ni is accompanied by decreasing spontaneous magnetic moment and increasing coercive force of all ferromagnetic RNi5−xCux but GdNi5−xCux. These results are explained in the frame of band magnetism, random local crystal field, and domain wall pinning theories.  相似文献
