Tellurite glasses (TeO2–ZnO–Nb2O5) mono-doped Er3+ and co-doped Er3+/Ce3+ have been prepared using the melt-quenching technique. To evaluate the effect of Ce3+ on the structural, thermal stability of glass hosts and fluorescence properties of Er3+, X-ray diffraction patterns, Ftir spectra, differential scanning calorimeter curves, absorption spectra, fluorescence emission spectra, fluorescence lifetimes, up-conversion emission spectra of glass samples were measured and investigated. Using Judd–Ofelt theory, we calculated intensity parameters (Ω2, Ω4 and Ω6), spontaneous emission probabilities, the radiative lifetime, luminescence branching factors and the quantum yield of luminescence for 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 transition. The co-doping with Ce3+ was effective on the suppression of up-conversion emission of Er3+ owing to the phonon-assisted energy transfer: Er3+:4I11/2 + Ce3+:2F5/2 → Er3+:4I13/2 + Ce3+:2F7/2 which contributed the effective enhancement of 1.53 µm fluorescence emission. The change in optical properties with the addition of Ce3+ ions have been discussed and compared with other glasses. Using the Mc Cumber method for the 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 transition, absorption cross-section, calculated emission cross-section, and gain cross-section values support that TZNEr1Ce1 glass is a potential material for developing broad-band and high-gain erbium-doped fiber amplifiers applied for 1.53 µm.  相似文献

Polarized spectral properties of Er3+:NaGd(WO4)2 single crystal are reported. The crystal was grown by the Czochralski method. The Judd–Ofelt theory was applied to analyze the polarized absorption spectra and then calculate the spontaneous emission probabilities, radiative lifetimes, and branching ratios. Fluorescence decay curves of the 4 I 13/2, 4 I 11/2, and 4 S 3/2 multiplets for the Er3+ ions were measured. Stimulated emission cross-sections of the 4 I 13/24 I 15/2 transition obtained by the Fuchtbauer–Ladenberg formula and the reciprocity method were compared. Multi-phonon relaxation rates of the crystal were estimated. Green up-conversion fluorescence around 531 and 552 nm was observed, and the possible up-conversion mechanisms were proposed. The polarized absorption spectra, infrared fluorescence spectra, upconversion visible fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence decay curve of orientated Nd3+:KGd(WO4)2 crystal were measured at room-temperature. Some important spectroscopic parameters were investigated in detail in the framework of the Judd-Ofelt theory and the Fuchtbauer-Ladenburg formula. The effect of the crystal structure on the spectroscopic properties of the Nd3+ ions was analyzed. The relation among the spectroscopic parameters and the laser performances of the Nd3+:KGd(WO4)2 crystal was discussed.  相似文献

Using the technique of high-temperature melting, a new Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped fluorophosphate glass was prepared. The absorption and fluorescence spectra were investigated in depth. The effect of Er3+ and Yb3+ concentration on the spectroscopic properties of the glass sample was also discussed. According to the Judd-Ofelt theory, the oscillator strength was computed. The lifetime of 4I13/2 level (τm) of Er3+ ions was 8.23 ms, and the full width at half maximum of the dominating emission peak was 68 nm at 1.53 τm. The large stimulated emission cross section of the Er3+ was calculated by the McCumber theory. The spectroscopic properties of Er3+ ion were compared with those in different glasses. The full width at half maximum and σe are larger than those of other glass hosts, indicating this studied glass may be a potentially useful candidate for high-gain erbium-doped fiber amplifier.  相似文献

A Bi2(MoO4)3 single crystal doped with Pr3+ ions has been grown by the Czochralski technique. The spectroscopic parameters, including the Judd–Ofelt intensity parameters Ωt (t=2, 4, and 6), spontaneous emission probabilities, fluorescence branching ratios, radiative lifetimes, stimulated emission cross sections, and fluorescence quantum efficiencies, were calculated. The spectral properties related to laser performance of this crystal were analyzed. The 1 D 2 multiplet of the crystal may be a good upper level for a solid-state laser.  相似文献

The polarized absorption spectra, polarized fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence decay curves of Pr3+ ions in anisotropic PbWO4 single crystal, which was grown by the modified Bridgman method, were measured at room temperature. The standard and modified Judd–Ofelt theories, extended to anisotropic crystal, have been applied to analyze the spectra. The spectroscopic parameters, including the Judd–Ofelt intensity parameters t(t=2,4,6), spontaneous emission probabilities, fluorescence branching ratios, radiative lifetimes, stimulated emission cross sections, and fluorescence quantum efficiencies, were estimated. A Pr3+-doped La2(WO4)3 crystal grown by the Czochralski method has been investigated as a promising laser material. The principal axes of the optical indicatrix and Pr3+ concentration of the crystal were determined. The polarized absorption, fluorescence spectra and fluorescence decay curves of the main emission multiplets of the crystal were measured at room temperature. The spectroscopic parameters were obtained by the modified Judd–Ofelt theory combined with the normalized method. The peak stimulated emission cross-sections of the major emission lines were estimated. The good spectroscopic properties imply that the Pr3+:La2(WO4)3 crystal is a potential laser gain medium for solid-state laser and self-stimulated Raman laser applications. Pure and Er3+-doped Li6Y(BO3)3 single crystals have been grown by the Czochralski method. The angular relationship between the crystallographic axes and the principal axes of the optical indicatrix has been determined. The principal refractive indices of the pure Li6Y(BO3)3 crystal have been measured. The polarized absorption and fluorescence spectra of the Er3+-doped Li6Y(BO3)3 crystal have been recorded. Spectroscopic parameters of the Er3+-doped Li6Y(BO3)3 crystal, including the intensity parameters Ωt (t=2,4,6), spontaneous emission probabilities, fluorescence branching ratios, radiative lifetimes, fluorescence quantum efficiency, and stimulated emission cross sections have been calculated and analyzed. 采用高温熔融退火法制备了系列 80TeO2-10Bi2O3-10TiO2-0.5Er2O3-xCe2O3 (x=0,0.25, 0.5,0.75,1.0 mol%)和(80-y) TeO2-10Bi2O3-10TiO2-yWO3-0.5Er2O3-0.75Ce2O3 (y=3,6,9,12 mol%)的碲铋酸盐玻璃.测试了玻璃样品400-1700 nm范围内的吸收光谱, 975 nm抽运下的上转换发光谱和1.53 μm波段荧光谱, 以及808 nm激励下的Er3+离子荧光寿命和无掺杂玻璃样品的Raman光谱, 并结合Judd-Ofelt理论和McCumber理论计算了Er3+离子光谱参数.结果表明, 在掺Er3+碲铋酸盐玻璃中引入Ce3+离子进行Er3+/Ce3+共掺, 通过Er3+离子4I11/2能级与Ce3+离子2F5/2 能级间基于声子辅助的能量传递过程,可以有效抑制Er3+离子上转换发光并明显增强其 1.53 μm波段荧光;同时,在现有Er3+/Ce3+共掺玻璃组分基础上引入WO3, 可进一步提高1.53 μm波段荧光并展宽其荧光发射谱. 研究结果对于获取优异光谱特性的宽带掺Er3+光纤放大器玻璃基质具有实际意义.  相似文献

The spectral characteristics of 1.54 μm emission in a series of Zn/Er:LiNbO3 crystals with heavy Er content and variable Zn content were reported. The inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used to determine the concentration of Er3+ ion in the crystal. The absorption and emission spectra of Zn/Er:LiNbO3 crystals were measured. Based on Judd–Ofelt theory, the spectral parameters such as intensity parameters Ωt (t=2, 4 and 6), transition strengths, radiative transition probabilities, radiative lifetime and fluorescence branching ratio have been obtained in Zn/Er:LiNbO3 system. The emission cross section corresponding to 4I13/24I15/2 transition of Er3+ ion was obtained according to Füchtbauer–Ladenburg theory. The gain cross section of Er:LiNbO3 crystal codoped with 6 mol% Zn2+ ions were also discussed in this work.  相似文献

The effect of Er3+ concentration on the Er3+?:?4I13/2?→?4I15/2 emission in tellurite glasses has been investigated. The full width at half-maximum increased with the increasing concentration of Er2O3 in tellurite glasses. The effect of local structure of Er3+ ions and related spectroscopic changes are taken into account to explain the line broadening. Inhomogeneous broadening due to the distribution of crystal field around the Er3+ ion has little effect on the absorption spectra. Highly efficient energy trapping between the ions was identified from the time-resolved analysis of the fluorescence decay and is found to be responsible for the extended lifetime at intermediate concentrations of Er3+ ions in tellurite glasses. The effect of temperature on spectral line shape has been determined for analysing the contribution of Boltzmann population on line broadening. The increased population of the overlying Stark sublevels at the 4I13/2 energy level via direct pumping and/or interaction between Er3+ ions were also found to be significant for enhancement in spectral line shape at higher concentrations of Er3+ ions in tellurite glasses. It was observed that at higher concentrations of Er3+ ions in glass also enhance the local symmetry of ions, which is apparent from the absorption band of the Er3+?:?4I15/2?→?2H11/2 hypersensitive transition.  相似文献

An Er:Yb:Sr3Gd2(BO3)4 crystal was grown by the Czochralski method. The polarized spectral properties of the crystal were investigated, including the polarized absorption and fluorescence spectra and fluorescence decay. The fluorescence quantum efficiency of the upper laser level 4I13/2 of Er3+ ions and the efficiency of the energy transfer from Yb3+ to Er3+ ions were calculated. End-pumped by a diode laser at 970 nm in a hemispherical cavity, a 1.6 W quasi-cw laser at 1.5–1.6 μm with a slope efficiency of 18% and an absorbed pump threshold of 5.9 W was achieved in a 1.8-mm-thick Z-cut Er:Yb:Sr3Gd2(BO3)4 crystal. This crystal has a flat and broad gain curve at 1.5–1.6 μm and so is also a potential gain medium for tunable and short pulse lasers.  相似文献

The Tm3+/Er3+:NaGd(MoO4)2 crystal with dimensions of Φ22×30 mm3 was grown by Czochralski method. Polarized spectra and fluorescence lifetime for the 4I13/2(Er3+)→4I15/2(Er3+) transition at room temperature were investigated. Based on the Judd-Ofelt theory, the spontaneous transition probabilities, the fluorescent branching ratios and the radiative lifetimes were calculated. The fluorescence lifetime was measured to be 1.81 ms. The detailed excited-transition mechanism with 800 nm radiation is also discussed.  相似文献

We report on the spectroscopy and, for the first time to our knowledge, continuous-wave and Q-switched diode-pumped laser operation of Er,Yb:YVO4 crystal. Absorption and emission spectra of the crystal were determined. Lifetimes of Er3+ 4 I 13/2 and 4 I 11/2 levels that define laser performance of the crystal were measured and parameters of energy transfer between Yb3+ and Er3+ ions were estimated. cw output power of 115 mW with slope efficiency of 5.4% was achieved at 1604 nm. In the Q-switched mode an average output power of 81 mW with slope efficiency of 3.5% and pulse duration of 150 ns was obtained. In quasi-cw regime maximal peak power of 610 mW with slope efficiency of 6.7% was demonstrated. PACS 42.55.Xi; 42.60.Gd; 42.70.Hj  相似文献

测试了不同掺杂浓度和样品厚度下掺铒磷酸盐和碲酸盐玻璃的吸收光谱、荧光光谱和荧光寿 命,计算了Er3+离子在1.53 μm处的吸收截面(σa)、发射截面(σ e)、自发辐射跃迁概率(Arad)、辐射跃迁寿命(τrad) 、以及辐射跃迁量子效率(η)等光谱参数.讨论了荧光俘获效应对掺铒磷酸盐和碲酸盐玻璃 光谱性质及光谱参数的影响.结果表明即使在铒离子低掺杂浓度(0.1 mol% Er2O 3)下,荧光俘获效应也普遍存在于掺铒玻璃材料中,使得荧光寿命(τf)和荧光半高宽(FWHM)随样品的厚度和铒离子掺杂浓度增加而增大,导致碲酸盐和磷酸 盐玻璃中τf分别增加11%—37%和6%—17%,FWHM分别增加15%—64%和11%—55% ,使得掺铒玻璃材料的放大品性参数(σe×FWHM) 也相应被估高.由于铒离子在 碲酸盐玻璃中在1.53 μm处吸收和发射截面重叠面积较大,加之铒离子在前者基质中的发射 截面高于后者,使得掺铒碲酸盐玻璃中的荧光俘获效应高于磷酸盐玻璃. 关键词: 荧光俘获 铒离子 碲酸盐玻璃 磷酸盐玻璃  相似文献

在Er3+/Yb3+共掺TeO2-WO3-ZnO玻璃中引入Ce3+,研究了Ce3+对Er3+1.5μm发射性能及其上转换发光性能的影响。结果表明,随Ce3+浓度的增加Er3+1.5μm波段的荧光强度先增强后降低,优化的Ce3+掺杂浓度在2.07×1020/cm3左右;1.5μm波段的荧光寿命则随Ce3+浓度的增加有轻微降低,从3.4ms降到3.0ms,但Ce3+浓度的增加对1.5μm波段的荧光半高宽基本无影响;Er3+/Ce3+间的交叉弛豫Er3+(4I11/2)+Ce3+(2F5/2)→Er3+(4I13/2)+Ce3+(2F7/2)使玻璃的上转换发光强度大大降低,但在过高的Ce3+浓度下,Er3+/Ce3+间的另一交叉弛豫Er3+(4I13/2)+Ce3+(2F5/2)→Er3+(4I15/2)+Ce3+(2F7/2)则使Er3+4I13/2能级粒子数减少,导致1.5μm波段荧光强度和荧光寿命降低. 关键词: 碲钨酸盐玻璃 发光性能 3+离子')" href="#">Er3+离子 3+离子')" href="#">Ce3+离子 交叉弛豫  相似文献

制备了系列Er3+/Yb3+共掺碲硼硅酸盐玻璃样品(85-x)TeO2-15B2O3-xSiO2 (TBS x=0,5,10,15,20 mol%).测试和分析了样品的吸收光谱、荧光光谱、能级寿命、红外透射光谱及差热特性.并通过对Er3+离子4I13/24I15/2跃迁发射谱线的高斯拟合,设计了一个简单的四能级结构估算了Er3+离子4I13/24I15/2能级在碲硼硅酸盐中的Stark分裂情况.研究表明SiO2的引入能有效地改善玻璃的热稳定性和光谱性能,玻璃析晶温度Tx与玻璃转变温度Tg之差(ΔT=Tx-Tg)可达178℃,说明碲硼硅酸盐是一种适合于光纤拉制的玻璃基质材料.比较了不同基质玻璃中Er3+离子的荧光半高宽和受激发射截面,结果表明TBS玻璃系统具有较好的带宽性能,是一种优良的宽带光纤放大器候选基质材料. 关键词: 碲硼硅酸盐 热稳定性 高斯拟合 -基')" href="#">OH-基  相似文献

对Er3+:GdVO4样品的光谱参数以及Er3+在晶场中能级的分裂情况进行了研究. 首先对样品进行了吸收光谱的测量,接着用Judd-Ofelt理论拟合出了Er3+在GdVO4晶体中的强度参量Ωt,并由此计算了跃迁的振子强度、自发辐射跃迁速率、荧光分支比和积分发射截面. 通过计算结果可以发现有较多能级之间的跃迁都有大于10-6的振子强度和大于10-18cm的积分发射截面,并且具有较高的荧光分支比,特别是2H11/24I15/24S3/24I15/24F9/24I15/24I13/24I15/2等几个强发光能级除了具有较大的振子强度和积分发射截面外还有很好的应用前景,因此也更加值得关注. 最后还利用群论讨论了Er3+离子在GdVO4晶场中各能级的分裂情况并对各Stark子能级的Jz混杂情况进行了分析.  相似文献
